Super cute and high quality coffee shop…read more I ordered the volcano and iced honey vanilla latte. The volcano was a new experience for me, so correct me if I'm wrong, but you sip the coffee without mixing. The coffee is iced but does not contain any ice cubs, as the milk is chilled. The iced honey vanilla latte was also good, strong coffee flavor and not super sweet. It takes a while for drinks to come out but that was expected as I read the reviews before coming here, and it is a nice to relax and slow down while waiting for your coffee. It a small space but they have a big table in the back where some people work. I would definitely try this place at least once!

Probably best to preorder in advance, although the staff were kind enough to let me know when the "drops" were, and I managed to get the quantity we needed last minute. I got myself a drink as a treat. I'm no coffee expert, but it did taste delicious. The store has a surprising amount of sunlight, and natural feeling decor. I heard that service is slow, but it didn't feel particularly slow when I was there. Price is maybe a bit high, but not unexpected at a boutique store. I cannot work remotely at this location, but I would have loved to do so. It was quite busy on the public days I went (despite seemingly being in the middle of some industrial area) so the "membership" (essentially just prepaid store credit) benefit may be worth it for someone who is a regular anyway.

This is for the Morning Buzz blend whole beans only…read more I ran across the Airborne Roasting stand at the Hayward farmers market, and asked about light roast beans. I was told they only have medium and dark, but the medium tastes pretty light. I asked if the beans were washed or natural, and she couldn't tell me, and wasn't even sure what that was. I should have taken that as a warning that these beans were not the same level as Devout Coffee roasters beans, which is what I usually get. However, since Airborne was cheaper than the beans I usually get from Devout Coffee, I went ahead and bought a pound of Morning Buzz. This morning, I brewed a comparison between the Airborne Roasting Morning Buzz, and my last remaining light roast beans from Devout Coffee, which at that point was several months old, whereas the Airborne beans where freshly roasted. Well, even so, the Devout light roast beans were far superior in taste than the Airborne beans. The Airborne tasted too burnt, and lacked those subtle flavors that make coffee so enjoyable. It was just a one-note band with loud speakers. My recommendation is, if you like a light roast, and sophisticated flavors in your coffee, get something else. I understand a lot of people do enjoy the burnt flavor (Starbucks, anyone?), but I wish they wouldn't have told me the medium roast tasted like a light roast: it doesn't. Note: in the end, with lots of sugar, lots of milk, and some heavy whipping cream, I was able to have a nice cup of coffee-flavored sweetness.

Long story short, our plans changed and found Airborne Roasting on Yelp. We connected with Roland (owner), which turned out to be one happy detour to our new go-to coffee roastery. Jet Fuel' roast has a bold and intense profile that will keep black coffee lovers like my husband coming back for more. On the other hand, 'Morning Buzz' and 'Barnstormer' are for coffee fans looking for more caffeine or milder and sweeter flavors. The best part is we are so very happy to be supporting a family-owned, local business that provides wonderful products and excellent customer service. Also, if you reside in Union City coffee delivery is free!

The coffee…read morequality was excellent, the staff was very friendly, and the pastries were absolutely delicious. The shop itself is a bit small, so it may not be the easiest place to study for long periods, but it has a great atmosphere, good vibes, and a very welcoming environment. The outdoor seating was a huge plus, especially with nice weather -- it's the perfect spot to sit outside and enjoy your coffee. Parking in the area can be a little tricky and it is paid parking, but that's pretty common for most downtown areas. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely recommend this coffee shop to anyone looking for quality coffee and a nice atmosphere.

The banana cream felt lacking as well. Even after mixing the cream top with the matcha, it felt unsatisfying and not enough banana flavor. I do like how the overall drink isn't overly sweet and the texture of the cream was nice. It was fairly crowded on a Thursday morning but the line to order moves quick. My drink took about 15 minutes to come out. Maybe it was just an off day? But I had higher expectations for their banana cream matcha.
