5 stars for the salad, 5 stars for the table servers, 1 star for front of house (my personal pet peeve, sitting customers in full view of the bathroom or kitchen doors when other tables are available), 3 stars for bread, 3 stars for macaroni and cheese, 5 stars for friendly manager and 0 stars for miso glazed cod with crispy rice, more like miso drowned and boiled yet still flavorless. Order something else, ask the server for a decent table before you walk in and you should be fine here. read more

Hi, I'm going to start by saying... Having birthday dinner here for my granddaughter with a party of 11 was awfully disappointing... It was a weekday wasn't very many people in Restaurant. I heard a lot of good thing about. This place unfortunately when we went in, it was very, very disappointing, especially since I had friends and family there food was cold. They served a couple of dishes that we never even ordered. I am assuming it was for another party so we sent it back when it was time to pay the bill. I went inside because I did not want to do any complaining.... In front of anybody I am very shy. So I went to our server and told her food came out cold. There were a few things on my bill that we never even ordered. She said that sitting outside on the patio, that's what happens so I asked to speak to a manager. She told me that manager is going to tell me the same thing I told her that there were flies going all over our food. and even if anybody wanted seconds, they would not be able to because the flies were all over. She still did not want to understand and did not call manager. I did not wanna make a scene since I had friends and family there I paid bill and left. I hate writing this review especially because it was a birthday dinner, but with Bill coming out to $855 this review was necessary to notify other people that are taking large parties to this establishment especially for birthday dinners very disappointing & sad read more

The food here is not great based on price. I visited for breakfast and had the the all American breakfast. The potato cakes were awful. The service was not great at all either. This was the second time giving this place a chance. read more

I visited this restaurant last Thursday night with my boyfriend to celebrate my birthday, and we had Liz as our server. She was absolutely AMAZING! She gave us excellent service, suggested some great options for us, including the Picante margarita, and also the dinner special with lasagna bolognese, salad, and tiramisu. My boyfriend ordered steak , big shell Mac & cheese, and the creamed spinach. We also had oysters to start. When I tell you everything was amazing! 11/10. We really loved the quiet, romantic ambiance of the restaurant as well. Also there was another lady who brought out our food, she was great too, we didn't get her name though. She was hilarious! This place is 100% worth checking out if you're in town! We will definitely be back when in town again! read more

Tried calling to book a table for 6 but whoever answered the phone was so sarcastic I couldn't tell if he was being serious or not. Then I learned that the waitress we've always requested is no longer there. I ended up not making the reservation over the phone. The next night we decided to risk it and walk in, but the vibe was way off. We could hear yelling in the kitchen and it seemed like all the staff were walking on eggshells, so we left. Past experiences were great, but the food isn't THAT good, it was the service we loved most. Two Stars read more

The food was amazing, and the ambience special with our own private booth. The manager came to visit with us and sent over champagne as it was our anniversary dinner. That was a special touch. read more

It was a very good one. The service is good and staff is so friendly. The food... was excellent. And I loved the ambiance.

We went here twice during the week stay we had in Solvang (we actually stayed in one of the Airbnbs above!). The food was delicious both times and the staff was wonderful. Our favorites were the Wagu Beef stroganoff, shrimp salad, French onion soup, fried chicken (Mondays only) and the donuts. Definitely worth the trip! read more

I was not impressed by this place. We got there like an hour or two after they opened on a Thursday and we were one of three (maybe four parties) in the entire restaurant. We got the Crudo (I want to say it was Ahi Tuna Crudo) and the burger on the brunch menu. The Crudo was good but I don't know if I would pay $25 for a small portion of raw fish again. It was only like 6 small pieces of tuna and my boyfriend finished it in a minute. He ended up helping me finish my burger. My burger was good as well, reasonably priced, but one of the two patties was raw. I ended up taking it out and just eating the burger with one patty. Our server, I believe was also the host, was nice enough. The decor is interesting to look at while you're waiting for your food. They do have two Michelin stickers but from what we experienced, the stickers are not for Michelin stars haha read more

At first our waitress was amazing! We had the ribs and lamb chops with pureed potatoes and creamed corn. All were amazing! We finished our dinner and it literally took a half hour for our waitress to come ask if we wanted dessert and offer boxes to take home. We walked away angry. read more

Yummy food and great service in a setting that can't be beat! There are tons of places to eat in the area. We decided on this last minute. It was mothers day and we had no reservations so we thought we might not get a table, let alone get good service on such a busy day. We were pleasantly surprised tho!!!! From the Vaquero Bar with great bloody Mary's to the authentic setting, it's a gem. read more

Went for a dinner and attempted to order- a few things were out of stock- food served was delicious. Recommend the macaroni, beef stroganoff, and salads! Beware- drinks are priced by the glass (even teas and sodas) which would have been nice to know before ordering more. Staff is ok- but food is better. read more

We went for brunch on Saturday morning. It was raining so it wasn't very busy. We tried the crudo, the fried chicken sandwich, the pastrami hash, the waffles, the biscuits and gravy and the donuts! It was all delicious! My kids also had some great drinks! We highly recommend it! read more

Not a MIchellen Star restaurant by any means. Ambiance was ok : bright lightening, old booths, small eating area . Service was mediocre. We ordered allot of items . French onion soup- salty and more salty. Mac n cheese- excellent. Big pasta shells and cheeses were very tasty. Onion Rings - greasy as state fair fried twinkies . Rib eye- no flavor and over cooked. It was dry. Filet Mignon- under cooked and flavorless Lobster- was fine . Bread- tasty. Drinks- good. It was an expensive meal for not good service and diner food. There are other places in town that have better service and food and not as expensive . Ps. The music was also off. They played rock which isn't bad however it did not match the ambiance . read more

Amazing food and excellent service from Melissa and Sebastian! We had... bone marrow, Frito Misto, Caesar salad, rib eye steak, Mac n cheese, tapioca crusted snapper and brioche donuts. Wish I had come earlier to sit at the bar before dinner - it was hoppin when we left!! read more

I've been to Coast Range on multiple occasions, and every time I have had a great experience. The staff, food, atmosphere, and drinks are always on point. Yesi is amazing too! Highly recommend. read more

What an amazing new experience in Solvang! So nice to have a place to go after wine-tasting and get a real drink. I'll have to go back and get dinner again once the steakhouse is open but the Vaquero bar and the patio were amazing. The food is decadent, thematic and out-of-this-world delicious. The oysters were FIRE and the artichoke is world class. The drinks are well-conceived, well-crafted and the bar staff was top notch. The service provided was what'd you'd expect from a top restaurant: they over deliver. I loved the location, ambiance and inviting/open air nature of the bar design. So glad you guys opened and can't wait to come back! Definitely already cornerstone of the SoCal wine country experience in my book. Thank you Coast Range! read more

Really good food I enjoyed it . Ham burger and brunch steak was good! Their old fashion is amazing

It was so hot inside, service wasn't spectacular. They charge 23% tip automatically!!

I never complain but I was so disappointed-first we ordered crab claws and the waitress kept saying how good they were only to come back and say they didn't have them. The black cod was salty, slimy and undercooked - actually inedible. My sons filet was dry and looked like It was held under a warming light. Even the baked potato seem stale! Then we ordered a dessert only to be told they weren't serving that anymore. But the real insult was they kept asking to refill our lemonade and soda then charged 4.00 a refill! I don't mind paying for good food but I left feeling upset and overcharged. I gave one star because the staff was very attentive. read more

Brunch was amazing! Service was great! Great recommendation from Victor! Fresh fresh fresh, biscuits and gravy

Food was excellent we both got the Filets, both cooked perfectly. Service was attentive and friendly. Dog friendly. Say hi to gus the restaurant mascot. read more

The food was excellent, well prepared, and delicious. The drinks we ordered looked amazing, but we made the mistake of ordering drinks that were made with mezcal, and it completely ruined them. The service was ok, but we didn't receive a couple of items we asked for, one of which was 2 glasses of wine, which was disappointing. For the cost of the meal, it left something to be desired. read more

The meal I had at Coast Range could only be described as traumatically bad. When I left I saw a mushroom growing at the foot of a tree outside. I am not exaggerating when I say that ripping that mushroom from the floor and eating it would have been a preferable dining experience. When I arrived at coast range the hostess was very short with me. "Can I have a table for three please?" I asked. "No. We're booked. Come back later." The hostess returned. Words spat at me with such venom that I visually recoiled. The hostess seemed disgusted by my presence. I returned half an hour later to ask for a table again. This time I succeeded. We were seated next to a coughing woman with a loose child. Not the restaurant's fault but it definitely contributed to an inferior dining experience. Next my table ordered. This was where our series of fatal errors began. The food items we ordered at our table were: eggs Benedict, Italian chopped salad, and hamachi crudo. We also ordered Bloody Marys and coffee. We were served quickly, but the waitress forgot my coffee and ended up bringing it after every other item in our order. While the service was lackluster, the quality of the food could have salvaged the situation easily. This place was recently featured in a Michelin guide and obnoxiously brags about it with signage throughout the restaurant. The food was so vile I am inclined to wonder if it was maybe a guide of restaurants to avoid. First, the eggs Benedict. This was the only thing we ordered that could reasonably be considered food. 7/10 but for some reason the menu said it would have ham on it and instead it had bacon. I wish we had at least been warned. Next, the hamachi crudo. 2/10. It was obscenely fishy tasting. The disgusting fish taste made me question its freshness and as an added bonus, it lingered on my tongue for the rest of the meal. One of my dining partners had to excuse herself and dry heave in the bathroom after consuming this monstrosity. The Italian salad deserves a 4/10. Somehow it managed to be extremely bland while also being simultaneously over seasoned with black pepper. Also there were sweet peppers in the salad that had no business being consumed by humans. They had an unpleasant texture and it felt like they should have been cooked instead of served raw. Eating them was like chewing on receipt paper. Lastly, I will mention the bloody Marys. The experience of consuming this cursed beverage was akin to shoving a knife under the nail of my big toe and kicking a door with my full strength. The overpowering fishy flavor from what I can only guess was 8 ounces of pure, unadulterated clam juice made my entire body cringe. I sincerely believe that drinking this fetid glass of alcohol can retroactively cause birth defects. I like to imagine that after a month lost at sea, subsisting on nothing but sea urchin and clam, the original architect of this drink was forced to consume his own urine. In a moment of what appeared to be clarity but what was instead a side effect of heat stroke and dehydration, he chose to model this Bloody Mary after what he had just imbibed. 1/10 As mentioned previously, this restaurant was featured in a Michelin guide. The prices at Coast Range reflect the artificial vision of luxury that they peddle. Shelling out over $100 for this meal felt like I had been robbed at gunpoint. At these prices, I encourage any interested diner to instead find your nearest storm drain and to eat the refuse built up on the inside. Overall, Coast Range is a 1 star restaurant that sells itself as a 5 star dining experience. Lastly, I would like to include an anecdote. I was in the Solvang area for New Years. I was staying at an air bnb nearby. Due to heavy rainfall, my air bnb flooded at 8pm after a full day of driving. I spent the rest of the night finding a new air bnb and driving to it. I welcomed in the new year in a Denny's booth eating a grand slam. I would rather experience another apartment flood and Denny's new year than ever eat at this "restaurant" again. read more

Probably one of the best dining experiences we've ever had in Solvang. We only had appetizers and cocktails but everything, from the French Onion soup to the Crudo were on point. Very friendly and helpful staff! We'll be returning with empty stomachs for the steak. read more

I never ate at a Michelin reasturant before, so while visiting solvang, i thought it would be a good idea to try dinner first time. Besides the host that was very nice, i wasn't impressed with anything there. I dont understand what the hype is all about. Really Overrated imo. The server was looking tired and fake friendly. Ordered onion soap that wasn't good compared with another one i had before in vegas. The salmon was good, The fillet mignon wasn't that good to justify the price (had one at mortons Steak House before that was much better) the boys that going around with a can of water to check who needs a refill i found it annoying (like every 2 minutes someone coming your way with water, no privacy. I dont know if there are many good options in solvang. Im sure they have better dishes than others. I was just not impressed. Had way more good time at cheesecake factory a week earlier for half the price lol read more

why doesn't yelp allow a 0 star review? The most rude and unpleasant staff I have ever encountered. the waitress we had was extremely impolite the entire meal- seemed as if she was a seasoned server who believed it was her business to tarnish. the moment myself and my family visiting from out of the country sat down and spoke another language, we were treated AWFULLY. super discriminatory and gross. on top of the horrible service the food tasted like something you could buy at the target food court so don't waste your time or money- i'm sure you can find much better for much more affordable and pleasant. OH AND!!!! if you're willing to pay for a meal with terrible treatment, with a big party- automatic 20% tip even with the side order of stank face read more

So glad we gave it a shot! Our dog was allowed in the bar which is awesome because it was raining. Drinks were well balanced, and the bartenders definitely knew what they were doing. The food was delicious, we ordered veal parm and shrimp scampi pasta both were amazing. They also have a record player and you can pick out a record and they play them. Super fun. read more

Have no idea about the food we waited almost an hour for a table but once seated no one came around to even ask us for drinks... while tables around us got asked at least a couple of times...we are Asian ... could that be a reason? Maybe I'm cranky because now I'm now really hungry...and I have to figure out a new plan for wire and two kids. read more

Service was terrible, we waited for our order to be taken for over 30 mins when there was barley any customers and 3 servers walked by us numerous times. Terrible odor coming from inside the restaurant so we asked to sit outside and we were placed under the Sun with no umbrella, we asked for a different table and the sever rolled her eyes. Not accommodating with swapping 2 different sides? They have hash browns and French fries as sides for 5 dollars and wouldn't swap one for the other? Overall not a great experience. Wouldn't come here again. read more

Deeply dissapoited.... my wife and i tool a long frstratibg trip to solvang and we were dog hungry. I Google the best restaurants in town and this place came in as #2.. We were so dissapointed because the hostess told us "by reservation only". She didn't even show any empathy toward us... There were plenty of tables open in the patio but she turned us away. She didn't even make an effort or say, "Let me see what I can do." My expectations were sorely dissapoited... Never will try to go to this place. read more

I used Siri to find a good restaurant to eat with my family but it was a huge disappointment. There were signs everywhere with Michelin 2022 as if to brag, but the food was not even as good as in n out. The jam and butter served were the same packaged ones you could buy for cheap and the food was overly salty. For a Michelin restaurant, it's a pretty bad sign when most of the people at the table can't finish your food. The food was overpriced and the extra sneaky charges made the experience worse. The customer service was slow and our server felt condescending. Will definitely not go again. Not recommended. read more

Do not stop here unless you have loads of time and don't particularly care about flavor. We stopped in Sunday at 11 for brunch, and should have been suspicious that we were seated right away (no wait for Sun brunch? place must not be that good). The server sat us, brought menus and water, then disappeared. 5 min later we were asked for a drink order, which the busboy brought. But then the server disappeared for another 10 minutes. At one point, I could even see her setting a table (placemats and silverware) that no-one was using. How about taking care of those folks who are already here before setting other tables? We finally placed our orders, and then the food was another 18 minutes (for standard breakfast items!). How long does it take to fry an egg? Then the food came and it was, at best, okay. Nothing gross, but I've had better meals at Denny's. Definitely not a great experience. Wouldn't return and definitely do NOT recommend. read more
