Was welcomed as if we were family! Solid beer style options and the quality us very decent. Sat outside on a sunny February afternoon and really enjoyed our visit. Beer flight was priced very competitively and they didnt know it, but i appreciated the grateful dead jam that was played as background music! Dont hear that often these days.

Killer Ale Taproom for the Goleta-based brewery that's located smack-dab in the middle of the DT Solvang's main drag. The Good: *Fantastic service by the barkeep *Great people watching as tons of people will come ambling by during your visit. *Dog-leg outdoor seating with umbrellas *Cornhole boards *Kid-friendly *Great selection of beers on-tap and some even more amazing ones in the bottle, like their Wee Heavy Scotch Ale, which was fantastic. The Meh: *There is a small private lot for this cluster of businesses, but good luck finding a spot. The Ugly: *No food served, but you're free to bring in your own food to eat along with your suds. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of options in Solvang when it comes to take-out food, other than--blech--Subway®. Conclusion: Great spot to knock back a cuppa cold ones, but it would be a lot better if there was a food truck nearby.

Hallie helped us and was great. This place had great beer and we played corn hole outside. You can even grab some fresh eggs on your way out as Hallie has some from her local farm. Truly was a great little spot we found after brunch. Come check out this spot you won't regret it and it had shade, a clean restroom, cold water and a nice breeze.

Super cool joint with an awesome location and great beers. We hung out outside on the front and had a couple taster flights. Beautiful way to enjoy a nice warm day with a view of this cute little town. Their Awesome Possum West coast was my favorite of the day.

Solvang has needed a brewery for locals and visitors to hang and enjoy craft beers at! Draughtsmen is the perfect addition. It's an excellent location right on the Main Street and is easily accessible. They have tables inside and outside. I opted to sit outside under the umbrellas and it was so nice. They've decorated the space really well and the service is excellent. I look forward to many more gatherings at this spot! They do offer a limited food menu from Coast Range next door if you're looking for something to eat.

Great selection of brews in a small casual welcoming atmosphere. Indoor outdoor seating is usually filled with locals on any given day. Bring your dog and your thirst. Cheers.

Super chill brewery in Solvang. Not sure what the prices are here since they are not posted anywhere that I could see but I'm thinking my tangerine cider cost $8. They have a couple snacks too. They have indoor and outdoor seating and some board games for people to play.

Perfect place to go get some nice brew and chill. They have cool selection of beers and tasty cider. While you hangout, you can play cornhole in the front. They also have nice seating areas. Its a clean place. I like the modern look and colors they chose. There are memorabilia you can buy. If you are ever in solvang, this is the brewery to go to

This place has really good beer! They are super friendly and welcoming. Our bartenders Austin and Don were both so amazing and helpful (we went two nights that's how much we liked it). The beer was filling and refreshing. I am not super knowledgeable about beer (not a huge fan) but that's all anyone would say who I asked. When Don found out I didn't drink beer he gave me a carpis sun! That was a highlight of my night :). The location is right centered in solvang and placed perfectly to give you a break during your wine tasting tours. Stop by and experience the local scenery with a light comfortable design on a brewery. I saw they have flights too which is awesome. They also make their own cider and some yummy wines for those who are more experienced in beer! The place is light and fun! They have boardgames for customers to play as well! 10/10 amazing experience.

Lots of solid offerings on tap. There's something for everyone! Dog friendly, chill atmosphere, nice patio. Can order food at the bar from the place next door, "Free Range".

They have different varieties of beer here for purchase as well. As we came in the vibes are so chill not a very big place but enough to come hang with friends and have a beer on tap. They have an outdoor patio with heaters and TV's to catch a game as well. They sell some snacks but you are able to bring your own food which is really neat. So I ended up just walking a bit farther to find a place to finish up some work on a Friday evening. Enter, Backroom Brewery. It's almost like a nondescript main entrance, like a store front where to go beers are sold. But then real through the store towards the back; voila the bar and patio. The vibe is super chill. There are a multitude of other breweries drafts on tap so that's great. Prices are a tad higher than what I've paid but it's a tourist area so it is what it is. Come check their place out when you get a chance!

In fact, I professionally moonlight as Historian specializing in medieval English history! This means that I am a sucker for anything reminding of the time period; making the Santa Barbara-adjacent Danish city of Solvang right up my alley with its medieval storybook streets/architecture. Among the many spots in Solvang that make my heart go pitter-patter is The Good Life: a cellar wine/ale/tavern- bar. Grab your favorite wench and come along to grab a pint... Stroll down Mission Drive in the famous Danish city of Solvang and you will be delighted to venture upon The Good Life that appears to pop out of a medieval history book with exposed wooden beans, plaster exterior walls and an entrance that resides at basement level (they don't call it a cellar bar for nothing!). Owned by a husband-wife team with extensive hospitality and restaurant experience under their belts in 2012; the charm of The Good Life is instantaneous and perfect for a gal like me obsessed with this sort of thing. Prepare to be instantly transported into the 15th century! Once you cross the threshold of The Good Life, the Shakesperean feel continues but is also modernized with a glowing fireplace, plush arm chairs and high bar tables (plus bar seating) and floor to ceiling wine racks. The Good Life is a perfect ratio of Solvang tradition with hints of romance making it ideal for a casual beverage, tourist pop-in or memorable date night drink. The latter is exactly how my boyfriend and I happened to come across The Good Life as we were visiting Solvang from Los Angeles for the city's Christmas-time Julefest. We had just spent the evening making holiday memories among the city's Christmas trees, twinkling lights and sugary delights. Post Danish-dinner, we decided to wrap up our forever-Solvang memory with a drink at The Good Life. We were immediately greeted by the male manning The Good Life without any attitude or distaste towards us for coming in as he was preparing to close for the evening. If he was upset with us in any way - he certainly didn't show it! The Good Life features an amazing menu of local and international wines, beers, ales, meads, ciders, and ports that make The Good Life feel fancy-schmancy and artisan; but also, neighborhood friendly for your favorite hipster or friend next door. My boyfriend and I shared a cider (I wish I remembered the specific one but alas my memory evades me) while enjoying the atmosphere of warmth at The Good Life. Other customers sat in the plush chairs with notepads and tarot cards, an older couple arrived to cap off the evening and I enjoyed the view of my boyfriend in a medieval-Danish inspired cellar bar. The Good Life is standout at accommodating to all customers and making sure no one feels out of place. A bountiful tip as important as the bosom of a medieval bar wench: the bathroom at The Good Life is labeled as 'Office'. Don't worry, you won't walk in on someone preparing accounting books and the only business happening behind this door involves you and your private matters. The Good Life is delightful and unique but doesn't just stop there: it also differentiates itself with a truly impressive alcohol selection that allows you to be introduced to local, national, Danish and international bevies you have surely not tried prior. The Good Life is recommended for a drink on your next trip to the tourist-friendly city of Solvang. Even if you aren't pretending to be in medieval times...

Our party of 4 was seated and waited about 20-30 minutes without a waiter in sight. Meanwhile, a table seated after us had already placed their order and received drinks. I eventually had to flag someone down, and they mentioned they would get our waiter. They later returned and took our order themselves, saying our waiter, Christian, would be with us shortly. To Christian's credit, he did apologize when he arrived, but throughout dinner the service continued to fall short. He would stop by asking if everything was okay while our cups sat empty, then walk away without offering refills. We had to specifically ask for water and drink refills. At the end of the meal, we also weren't asked about dessert or whether we needed anything else. We had to ask for the check and he pulled out of his vest. That said, the restaurant itself has a great atmosphere. The outdoor seating is beautiful, especially the built-in fireplaces at the tables, which we really enjoyed. The live music also added a nice touch to the evening. Food-wise, the appetizers were the highlight. The ceviche and flautas were excellent. I ordered the Black Tie Burger, which was just okay, but the fries were delicious.

Kelly seemed more focused on catering to a small group of guys in cowboy hats than maintaining the vibe that actually makes this spot stand out. Instead of reading the room, she and her May 1st bartender colleague locked into a single stream of country music that clearly wasn't resonating with most of the crowd. That's really the frustrating part, it wasn't just a music choice, it was the complete lack of awareness or willingness to adjust. People weren't being heard, requests were ignored, and the whole "records" concept felt pointless when it was treated so rigidly. If you're going to lean into vinyl as part of the experience, it should feel curated, responsive, and a little bit special, not like someone just putting on their personal playlist and tuning everyone else out. The drinks were genuinely great, which makes the situation even more disappointing. The potential is clearly there, but the execution on the atmosphere just didn't match. If the records are going to stay, they should actually be used to enhance the environment, not limit it. Otherwise, it might be better to ditch the gimmick entirely rather than let it drag down what could be an otherwise standout spot.
