We received a buy 1 tasting get 1 free coupon from our hotel and decided to give this place a shot, and man are we glad we did! Service: very kind and attentive staff. You walk up and order yourself, you're handed a number, then the staff will bring your food out to you. While you wait, you can head over to the wine bar and order yourself a tasting. Atmosphere: plenty of outdoor seating with an amazing view of the mountains and ostriches roaming. Family and friends sat and chatted with soft music playing in the background. Very dog friendly. Food: ORDER THE STEAK & CARAMELIZED ONION SANDWICH!! My husband ordered it and I was very jealous. I ordered the steak salad which was nice, but that sandwich was delicious. We also ordered the grilled artichoke which was very flavorful and the dipping sauce was delicious. Wine: our favorite was the Kick On Pinot Noir. I'm not much of a drinker, definitely not of red wine, and this was even my favorite. Overall, we're very pleased with our experience and will be back during our next visit to Solvang. Next time we will be checking out Hitching Post 2 for dinner!

A laid back setting for a wine tasting experience. I love their Pinot noir especially and they also serve some great BBQs. You can just order at the counter, pick up a spot and they deliver the food to you.

Had the best time tasting wine and having a hitching post lunch! The service is walk up and they bring everything to you. The ribs and tritip tacos were pretty good! I enjoyed the dinner on our previous trip better but the food was still good. The wines were great and the views were beautiful! It was pretty windy so we sat indoors, which was kind of warm. The tasting room was gorgeous and they had a little museum that I loved! Overall great times and a great winery to visit in Buellton!

be advised, this is NOT where Miles and Jack from Sideways come for dinner. that's Hitching Post 2, next door, which, unfortunately, is not open for lunch. no biggie, this spot is amazing for lunch. great views on the outdoor area. great wines to taste, as well as beer options. food was delicious and of high caliber. very nice, friendly service and we will come back.

The outdoor area where you order food.

Came here for lunch recently after wanting to try it for a long time! I tried to place the take out order over the phone, but they wouldn't let me and said I had to go in. I realize most people are probably there enjoying wine and getting food to eat at the same time, I just wasn't there for the wine and wanted to try the food. The counter to order food is outside and pretty easy to find. I had to wait in a line, so clearly they are popular, but my food came out pretty quick. I ordered the grilled chicken salad with Italian dressing. They give plenty of dressing, which is nice. All of the veggies are fresh and I love the grilled bell pepper on the salad. My only complaint is the salad seemed to be lacking in protein. We received a pretty small amount of chicken. Otherwise, this place is great and we'll definitely come back to try other things. Parking is super easy and there are tables to sit on to wait for your food.

Good wine & great views of the hills & ostrich farm.

The service was excellent! My fiancé & I ordered lunch and a few bottles to go. We enjoyed the views & the music. The wine was good too! Looking forward to visiting again.

This place is definitely wine in a million! I've made a lot of pour decisions in my life and super glad we visited this amazing winery. Dined the night before at their restaurant next door Hitching Post II and got the chance to enjoy some of their wine selections so decided to swing by the winery the next day to sample some of the other wines I didn't get a chance to try. So glad I did as this wine tasting was definitely the highlight of my vacation. We were welcomed by the host with the most Aaron when we got there just before opening time. It was amazing to hear him regale us with the history and future plans for Hitching Post Wines. The conversation and the wine was just perfect and one of the most memorable ones we've had sober or not :) Also had the pleasure of meeting owner and legendary wine maker Frank Ostini. Our visit here reminds me that wine is more than just it grapes. The best ones are the ones that were cultivated, nurtured and coaxed to excellence by passionate individuals like Frank and Aaron. Cheers to Frank, Aaron and the Hitching Post team! We love your Pinot and maybe, just maybe drink a glass of Merlot if anyone orders it (sorry Miles!). All in all, this is a wine-derful place to sip and enjoy life~

What a great spot! We love to stop for lunch and a bottle of Pinks. The burger is phenomenal as well as the steak sandwich with caramelized onions! The view is captivating and will keep you sitting for hours! A just stop when on the 246.

What beautiful Pinot noirs you can find here!! An exceptional wine tasting room with great warm and friendly service and views for miles! Sit out back and order the best lunch available in the Santa Ynez Valley, sit under the mighty oaks and watch the ostriches frolick at Ostrichland while you eat, (it's like being on safari in Africa!!) and then step inside the wine room to do a wine tasting. We were treated like royalty here. We joined the wine club we loved it so much! DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE if you travel to the Santa Ynez Valley!

My wife and I stopped in for a lunchtime visit yesterday during our trip to Solvang. We were a little disappointed that lunch was still being served outside at the wine venue; however, our lunch was absolutely delicious! Our last visit in the summer was sweltering. This visit it was not too bad sitting outside, breezy and refreshing. All the staff were wearing masks and I was surprised by the number of people walking in to the outdoor facility wearing a mask. My wife ordered their cheeseburger and I their steak and fries. To top our lunch off we had a bottle of Hitching Post Highliner Pinot Noir. The burger and steak were cooked perfectly to order and well seasoned! French fries were crisp and plentiful! Are wine truly delicious! We hope to be able to stop at least one more time before we depart Solvang. Thank you very much! Keep up the great work!

The best part about wine tasting in the valley is all the wonderful options you have such as Hitching Post Winery which is fairly new as of August 2018. My friend brought me here because she wanted to try out their lunch menu. Not only can you do wine tasting here but they also serve lunch from 11:30 - 2pm on the weekends, and remain open until 8pm on Saturday, and 5pm on Sunday for wine tasting. On my visit we had lunch and tried a couple of wines; well maybe 3 lol but who's counting. For food I ordered the oak grilled cheeseburger $11 + fries for an additional $3. The burger also came with a small side of broccoli salad which was amazing! The grilled burger itself was cooked perfectly (medium well). My friend had the steak salad which she let me try, and although I don't care for medium rare meat this was actually quite tasty! It had a nice smoky flavor, and it was perfectly seasoned. We also tried their grilled artichoke served Santa Maria BBQ style; which was outstanding. I highly recommend it if you like artichokes! The way the food is delivered was pretty cool having someone come by on a bike cart playing some nice tunes such as Funky Town lol. There's a lot of choices when it comes to seating here. The outdoor picnic area which has gorgeous views of the Santa Ynez Mountains, and river landscape. An enclosed patio for those that wish to be indoors but still have views of the mountains and river. And last their beautiful cottage style tasting room. I love that they have several options to choose from with plenty of seating. Apparently HH is known for their Pinot Noirs, but on my visit of course I opted for yep you guessed it! A glass of their dry rosé because rosé all day right? The prices are very reasonable here for a glass of wine. My friend chose the White Dahlia Sauvignon Blanc for only $8 a glass, and their glasses are huge! She also purchased a bottle of their 2012 Four Top which is a nice blend of 47% Merlot, and 46% Cabernet Sauvignon. Very smooth and easy on the pallet. "Four Top" is a reference and honoring of the Hitching Post II restaurant, and not because it has four different blends just to be clear. The customer service here was very casual yet the ladies that were on duty kept coming around to check on us, and kept our tables clear once we finished our meal. Very friendly all around. I could go on and on about this beautiful winery, but you just have to see for yourself what they have to offer. I promise you will not be disappointed! Looking forward to my next visit to check out their popular Pinots.

Having wine and summer afternoon bites at the Hitching Post was truly an experience! First and foremost, the staff was so great and gave great recommendations; The scenery is peaceful and showcases the beauty and diversity of California landscapes. The wine is tasty and there's a good variety, but the rosé was my favorite! A huge plus for serving Topo Chico sparkling water--my favorite! I can't wait to visit again soon and I recommend you pay them a visit if you want to experience true California wines.

I am a huge horror fan so I was beyond excited to check them out over the weekend! The inside and vibe was all I could hope for and more! We were immediately greeted when we arrived and found a table to sit at and enjoy our time. There were only a few tables plus bar seating available so it was nice and cozy. I loved seeing all of the horror memorabilia, decor and merchandise throughout including the killer Ghostface mask and Halloween pinball machine. My husband ordered a glass of their Cab which he loved and I ordered a Vamperol Spritz - they were even kind enough to make our daughter a mocktail. They even brought her over a Nightmare Before Christmas activity kit to keep busy and we bought a Michael Myers sticker as well as a Nightmare Before Christmas hair clip to take home. I'm kicking myself now for not buying a t-shirt! Kids are very welcome at this winery which was a huge plus for us! Staff were personable and made our visit very enjoyable! Final Girl Wines also offers tasting flights and non-alcoholic options as well! They do not offer food, but there are so many great places in Solvang to check out. If you're a horror fan or just enjoy good wine, you have to check out Final Girl Wines while in Solvang! I can't wait to come back and give them another visit one day!

The wall colour was pretty but was a little unimpressed with the amount of horror stuff. Maybe having a horror movie on the back corner playing silent would be cool or more Halloween decorations? Somthing was missing. The chimney was cool though. Anyways, shop opened over an hour late. Came back a few times and noticed it was opened. We were the 1st customers in. My main issue is only the owner was not paying attention to not only us (party of 4) but also the couple in the front and the back corner. Gave all his attention to the people at the bar. I dont drink wine and wanted to learn more or at least which wine I like. He couldn't keep up with pouring my wine flight. Waited way too long for pours. Very little explanation of the wine or suggested pairings. And mentioned more than once "I forgot about you". My party was fed up wanted to leave after they finished their spritzers and glass but I was flight pour 3 out of 5. He did not asked if they wanted more drinks. My partner got tired of waiting and headed over to the counter for 10 minutes before being helped to pay since he did not go to our the table. I'm glad we decided to not eat there who knows how long we would have waited on food. I double the Suggestion from another post hire some additional help. In my day…read more. I have been to so many Vineyards & even a few Farms too. But this place.. Is a twofer! Yeah, baby! A Vineyard AND a Farm! Beat that Napa Valley! Ok, Ok.. I know Napa Valley is like THE Mecca of Wineries, at least in California, & going there once before, I kinda understand, kinda. But is it really that much better? In my humble opinion.. Ehh. It was whatever Sure, I'm down dropping a nice crispy Benjamin to get that aged, vintage 2013 Cab.. But will I really care, or even notice once that bottle is depleted & I'm now ordering the 2nd least expensive Chenin Blanc on the menu just to wash away all my worries. (Suddenly, Every wine snob, wine aficionado & novice sommelier enters the chat) But, But Lance, it's Napa, How dare you speak against this Holy Land of all Superior Wine. And to that I say, I get it. I truly understand that not all wine is created equally, but also that not all of us have the BIG BUCKS to continuously drop $100 big ones on that prized Napa Cab. Hey, call me crazy, but to me, it's not just ALL about the wine that is produced, but more about the overall experience. It's the vibe. It's the way you are treated. & it's definitely about how they made you feel. Anyone else getting Maya Angelou vibes?? IYKYK ;) **All Wine Snobs have left the Chat** *Vega Vineyard and Farm has entered the chat* Alright team Vega, sit back, kick your feet up, & just listen while I brag a little about you. It was a BEAUTIFUL November afternoon just 4 days prior to Thanksgiving. We were heading back south from Paso Robles & decided to make a little pit stop before getting all the way back home. So my wife looked up wineries in the area that were kid friendly & Vega was at the top of the list. Walking in, we noticed that they had a little restaurant right at the entrance, so we went to put our name down for a table. Unfortunately, the wait time was a little longer than we wanted to wait, only because we had the kids with us, but the hostess suggested if we didn't want to wait, that they had more food on the other end of the farm in "Pops Place". Other than the wine itself, eating the food in "Pops Place" was probably the best move we could have unintentionally made that day. (I'll explain in a bit) So we slowly made our way towards the other side of the farm/vineyard & all I can say is, what a gorgeous property it was. The farm life, the outdoors, the weather, & I was with my Fam. It couldn't have been a better day! Once we got to Pops Place, it was like we entered into a whole new world. A huge area for kids with a jungle gym, stations for outdoor games & activities, benches to sit, even private cabanas you can reserve (not sure if there is a cost) & of course a little shack to order food and wine! So remember earlier when I said eating in Pops Place was probably the best move we could have made that day, Well here are 3 reasons why! 1) We ordered the George's Greek Gyro Pita w/fries (a beef gyro with lettuce, tomato, onions & tzatziki wrapped in a pita) and.. OH. MY. GAWDDD It was so flippin' GOOD! It was so good, that I didn't even have time to snap a pic, let alone set it down after taking that 1st bite. It was complete perfection! 2) Chicken Strips & Fries from the kids menu w/a side of ranch.. Let's just say, The kids loved 'em. 3) We washed it all down w/a beautiful, crisp, perfect for a fall day, 2024 bottle of their finest ALBARIÑO. & it was, EXCELLENT!! After we sat & ate, let the kids get out all of their energy, the fun at Vega continued. From there, we headed to feed the livestock on the property (lettuce sold onsite for a few bucks). There were Chickens, Goats, Pigs, Emu's & Sheep, and the kids and myself had a blast feeding 'em. After that, we stopped off at one of their gift shops to browse all of the fun stuff. Of course, we got the kids their requested candy! The staff we interacted with while at Vega were all so kind, welcoming & made us feel apart of the extended Vega family. Because of this, we will definitely be coming back next time we pass through. So, & this is where YOU come in! The next time you are passing through Buellton, do yourself, your spouse and your kids, if you've got them, a HUGE favor: Come check out Vega Vineyard & Farm and tell me that I was right!
