Oh, man! Go see this buscador (seeker), Matt! I'm so glad he's settled into Buellton, making his exceptional wines and hosting in his whimsical, comfortable tasting room (with plenty of cozy inside and outside shaded seating). A generous tasting of 8+ of his wines is $25, waived with a $40 purchase. Warm and welcoming, super down-to-earth, and so genuine, Matt made the visit a memorable experience. He will chat with you (about the wine, Buellton, surfing, and/or his extensive travels) or leave you be to enjoy. It's super chill. Snacks available - try the smoked Gouda pretzels, yum. My favorite wine was the Xarel-lo, which I learned is the grape used to make Cava. There wasn't a wine of his that I didn't enjoy, and whether reds or whites are your jam, you will be impressed. I'm telling all my Central Coast friends and visitors to put this tasting room on their list. 10 stars! read more

Just happened to find this unique winery hidden in an industrial wine complex. Very comfortable outdoor seating and the wine tasting was the best we've ever had. Every single one of the wines were excellent. Matt (owner) is full of experience, knowledge and he took the time share his conversation with us. Even recommended another winery he thought we would enjoy. Can only recommend his establishment to all who seek the best wine experience of all. read more

What an amazing winery. Had a great wine tasting here with the wine maker, Matt, who we really enjoyed talking with. Did a tasting for $25, and tasting fee is waived with a purchase of $40 or more (love when wineries do that). Loved a lot of the wines, but my favorite was the cab franc, so got a bottle of that, and bottles of a couple of white wines. Really cool decor and setting outside, and in - we opted for inside since it was in the low 50s. Definitely recommend and looking forward to coming back next time we're in town! read more

Hidden in plain site gem of a winery!!!! Matt is awesome and produces some awesome wines. We were so lucky to find out about this place when we first drove up from camping in Santa Barbara. The wines were so good we had joined their wine club which on this trip we picked up our selection at the wine club appreciation day. Matt put on one great party and we were lucky to meet several people and taste some of Matt's great wines. This being our first of several wine club events was N awesome experience. He went as far and hiring out a wood fired pizza to supply some awesome made to order pizza's. If you are in Bulletin and happen to look at Yelp for places to visit, there's a reason this one is number one on the list!!!!! Cheers read more

My mother and I stopped by this past weekend to pass some time before we had to meet some friends for dinner. This place is in the corner of a plaza where there are other wineries. It seems to have a lot of competition in the area, but this place had a cool vibe to it. They had excellent wines and the pricing was good as well. The only negative comments that I have about this business was that they do not offer any food options and the man, who was running the place at the time, did not seem like the most patient, or friendly guy. read more

We stopped in on a recent trip to Buellton. Matt was awesome. He knew about his wines and answered all of my odd questions. The passion for wine comes out when he talks about his product. We ended up buying a couple of bottles and joining the wine club. We had the luminecent white wine. Delicious!!! We got a fruity green apple on the front and ended with a carmel after. We just drank a bottle of the 2019 cabernet sauvignon. I could drink that day in and day out. Definitely stop in and try their wines. I highly recommend it. read more

Found Buscador courtesy of Yelp. So happy we found this hidden gem. The tasting room has an unpretentious vibe, very relaxed and intimate. We were welcomed by Matt the owner/ wine maker. Really enjoy a wine tasting experience where you get to learn about the wines from the wine maker. Listening to Matt, you can really here his passion for wine making. The entire wine flight we got to taste was amazing. I had some many favorites, but decided to take home a bottle of Merlot. That surprised me because I never buy Merlot, but this one was classic and memorable. Also really enjoyed the Cab Franc as well. As much as I enjoyed the wines next door at McClain's ...I really enjoyed Buscador and felt like I was on holiday in Spain. Yes, that's the beauty of a good wine tasting where you forget where you are and what you are doing and you find yourself just going there! The tastings were delicious but as I had paraglided to Spain, don't ask me what I actually tasted but I did buy a bottle of big Merlot...and have already polished it off with dinner last week. Yes, I will have to come back for MORE....and hopefully, transport myself back to SPAIN! The winemaker, JIM, (I think) or was it JUAN...no, JUAN, was in SPAIN...did the pour and we talked shop, etc...IT WAS FUN! read more

I can't say enough good things! My husband and I stopped in after a hike with no idea what to expect. We ended up having a great time. A tasting flight is $20 and includes seven wines. We liked everything we tried and ended up leaving with four bottles. The winemaker, and owner, Matt is a really cool guy with great stories. This place has a great small atmosphere and the maps and decor are phenomenal. The wine maker was friendly and held great conversation. I liked the whites but wasn't a big fan of the reds due to their high tannins. They were a bit richer and chewier than I tend to like. This place was recommended to me by Ken Brown and it was definitely worth the stop. It's a local guy with the true passion. It's a nice chill space that has a more casual and relaxed vibe. I ended up buying the The Pinot Noir which was amazing l. I also purchased the Rose which I don't believe is released yet, but it was too good to pass up I had to grab a bottle! There's a nice large parking lot with a few other tasting rooms. It's on the left side of industrial away. If you want to swing over to Figerora Mountain Brewery after it's right across the street. And there's great food across the street as well! It's a dog friendly place that's worth the stop! read more

I only wish I could give Vega Vineyards an extra star. A+ for sure.

Jessi coordinated with us for the months leading up to the event, and her planning and communication were fantastic every step of the way. On the day of the event, Kelly handled coordination and the bar, which made it easy for us to sit back and relax. Beyond the great service, the day itself was a blast. Our employees had an amazing time! Riding the tractor was a hit, visiting with the Scottish Highland Mini Bull was so much fun, and our animal encounter with the goat was a favorite too. The lunch was great -- the sandwiches were served on homemade bread that was really tasty. The setting was perfect, with ample shade, a nice breeze, and comfortable temperatures. If you're looking for a venue for a company party or special event, I can't recommend Vega Vineyard & Farm highly enough. Huge thanks to Jessi, Kelly, and the whole team for making our celebration so memorable!

I'm a huge wine nerd, so I tend to ask a lot of questions, usually because I'm genuinely excited about what's in the glass. Kevin was pouring during our visit and the depth of his knowledge absolutely blew me away. No matter how technical my questions got, he seemed to have an answer. Most people probably wouldn't care about that level of detail, but for me it made the experience that much better. It was a pretty slow day when we visited, so we were able to have a really personal tasting experience, which is always my favorite. If the room had been packed, I'm sure the interaction would have been different, but that's not a knock on them at all. We just got lucky with the timing. The tasting room itself isn't doing anything wildly unique, but honestly, who cares when the wines are this good? The focus here is clearly on what's in the glass, and Dragonette continues to make some of my favorite wines in Santa Barbara County. There's a very good chance I'll be joining the wine club sometime soon.

Came in on a Friday early afternoon and had the best time because of the staff! We had plans to visit other wineries but pivoted once we realized how much we liked it there. We started with the Chip Tasting that pairs wine chips with their wine. The idea is fantastic but the chips were not our favorite. I would recommend a lighter crispier chip to pair with their amazing wines, these are too dense with fake flavors that tasted off. We had a cheese plate which was premade but still wonderful! Great cheeses and exactly what we needed to remove the memory of the chips. We bought a bottle and one of their candles poured into a wine bottle on our way out. It smells amazing! It's basically that now as we've been enjoying it for years and years. Each visit is alway nice. Right from driving through the gates and up the hill. Yes, that's the whole point of us visiting. Everything is alway refreshing and delicious. Of course that's bad in a sense as it goes down so well....lol... Some new releases are alway a good start. My group tends to stick to the reds but sometimes a white or rose comes into the pictures and makes a lasting impression. There's been loads of time when we stopped by and the patio is bustling with people and a live bands. Summer is approaching and the fun is about the start. Plus, lately it's alway been a miss with the members lounge. Either closed and this time it was reserved for a private event. Ugh sucks on our part I guess. Also, it's sad to hear that some familiar faces have moved on but those that are still there are amazing. Until Next time.

Since we made a reservation they gave us a nice paper that stated our party's name and a little congratulatory message since we were celebrating an occasion which was a sweet touch. For the fixed flights, they are 2 oz of wine each which isn't a whole lot, it's meant to be split between two people.
