Blake Owner/Brewer/ Magician!! Couldn't have been more inviting. He genuinely cares about his craft as he went into detail about every cider they offer. Even shared his experience of where it all started for him as a hobby turned into a passion for such a remarkable product! The location is not set up yet for sit down service but that didn't stop Blake from giving us a mini tour and an actual sample straight from the tank of a new Blueberry cider. I must have sampled at least 8 different flavors & when it was time to decide it was not easy. I'll say the prices are pretty good when you consider the product is the best in Ventura County! They have this event once a month, but it could vary in dates. I kicked things off with a flight of refreshing meads, including the Piña Paradise, Mystic Vibration Slushy, Sun of a Beach, and Frozen Espresso Meadtini. Every sip was perfect for a hot day! What I love most is their Meads & Ciders are gluten free and made with good quality ingredients. No artificial crap here. They don't serve food here, but they have pop-up events featuring local food. Back Patio Cellars feels like you've just meandered into Frank & Jen's backyard, and they invite you to stay awhile to try some cider/wine. This is definitely their passion project, and it shows in how they talk about their ciders/wine and enjoy sharing with people. It's located in a business park where they have what seems like a traditional tasting room with a few tables, a "living room" with comfortable seats and a couch surrounded by their barrels, and a "patio" outside with covered seating. We opted for a cider tasting, and as someone who was a little wary, because I don't have much of a sweet tooth, I was so excited to hear that their style is on the drier side. These hard ciders are dangerously good... refreshing, delicately flavored, and you wouldn't even know that they're packed with a high ABV. We tried the Apple, Black Berry Pie, Golden Kiwi, Guava, Blood Orange, and Key Lime. My favorite was the guava and my SO's was the Black Berry Pie. These are perfect for warm weather, and you can even take cans or growlers to go! As for food, there are some snacks available for purchase, and folks are welcome to bring their own snacks (uh, charcuterie plate, anyone?) except when there's a food truck. Hidden within a business park, this boutique winery and cider house offers something for everyone. They have a cute tasting room, and of course a "back patio" area, but we preferred the comfy "living room" seating area inside the barrel room (I love a nice barrel room). One minor complaint is that they don't have a printed tasting list, or even a comprehensive list of their wines/prices. WINES: We were able to try a '21 Albarino, a '19 Viognier, a '20 Rosé of Granache, a '19 carbonic Cabernet Sauvignon, a '20 Syrah, and a '16 Cab Sauv. from Lodi. We loved the two whites, and the Syrah and Lodi Cab, taking home several bottles. My mother-in-law had a glass of their Cinnabon cider, which was quite nice. They had nine flavors of cider on tap the day of our visit. No food available, other than bags of chips, but feel free to bring your own munchies and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and tasty wines/ciders! Overall, we had a nice experience getting to know Jen & Frank and trying their wines. IMO, Back Patio Cellars is definitely worth a visit.

Beer tasting flight: $20…read more This was only our second visit to Rincon Mountain's tasting room, but the experience was just as wonderful as the first time. This is a family owned/operated wine and beer tasting room located in Carpinteria, with their vineyards located on nearby Rincon Mountain and in Paso Robles. Cool vibe entry area, with a large, garage-like back room and outdoor tasting areas. Parking available both on street and in a private lot in back. WINES: We were fortunate to have Jill, co-owner with her husband Edward, pour for us and the service was excellent. We tried 5 wines from the tasting menu, a '22 Storytime Rosè, '22 Susie Q (white Rhone blend), 2020 Dusty Vinyl (Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre red blend), '19 Tempranillo, and a '19 Monk (Bordeaux red blend). In addition, Jill also poured us a '22 Syrah. Again, all the wines were well-made and flavorful. We took advantage of the waived tasting fee and took several bottles home with us. You can also purchase wines by the glass or enjoy a bottle onsite. BEER: New since our last visit, Jill and Edward decided to brew beer, so we also decided to share a tasting. All ingredients are grown on their property and they're currently pouring a Lu Lu Lager, a Monk's Ration (Belgian Ale), and a Sal's Stout. The pours are generous and easily enough for two people to share a tasting. We're not huge beer fans, but these, especially the lager and the ale, were so refreshing and full of flavor. If you are a traditionalists when it comes to ciders, then this is your place. The ciders are pure apple without additives. The tastes of the ciders remind me of what you would find in UK- nice and dry. You can grab a pint in house or you take some to go if you prefer.
