This place is like a little mini cheers. It's the small brewery where the locals go and the owner pours the beer. The mostly local group is friendly and welcoming. Bring your dog and play some games while drinking deliciously crafted beers brewed right here on site. My favorites are the Strawberry Fields (a blonde ale) and the So Cal stout. But they're known for their C-Hag IPA.

Yummy time. A Belgian double and a lobster sandwich to eat from Cousins Maine Lobster. A win all around.

Stout Nitro Brew yum!!

We really like it here! Nothing fancy-comfortable and dog friendly! Located in a strip mall w/lots of parking (we walk over since we live in Oxnard Shores) Excellent beer for sure! We love the Stout Nitro! Cool little spot to come and chill, watch some sports and just hang. Pizza to go place next door if you get hungry! Definitely recommend!

As local as it gets! Having been a long-time part-time resident of Oxnard Shores (4 decades+) I always get excited to see local businesses pop up that really catch the vibe of this neighborhood! This neighborhood brew pub is small and suuuuper local.... Great place to enjoy some unique beers and catch up with neighbors and other colorful characters.

Here is what is great: * The quick and kind service. * They accept the AXXESS card. Buy 1 flight/sampler, get 1 flight/sampler free. * Seating available inside and outside. Not so great: The beers. In all we tried 6 of the 8 beers. Hubby loves beers. He loves dark thick beer. I love light beers. We didn't like any of them however we drank them. Hubby said they were heavy. That's about it. I normally write long reviews. Thank you for the 2 free stickers. Hubby has a sticker door in the garage. We already placed them on the door.

Awesome little nano brewery with a great selection of tasty craft beers. Super friendly staff, chill vibe and other cool stuff, like trivia.

I can't say enough good stuff about this place!! Great beer! Always a fantastic selection, and such a chill vibe!! By far my favorite brewery in SoCal!!

Little neighborhood Brewery with minimal selection of beers. But that's good, you get to try all beers. Pictured is a Bacteria Sour that I had to try just because of the name. Delicious!

Super friendly, great beer wonderful owners! Stopped by while in the area and I'm so glad I did. What a great local gem! Wish I lived closer. I would for sure be here more often! Love supporting family owned places!!

We had a fantastic experience as far as customer service and beers go. The Hop Passport brought us into Red Tandem on a busy Saturday night. We were fortunate there was a table for 2 still open! We were served right away and with open arms. I wish I remembered which beers we got, but they were both lighter beers and very refreshing. Dog-friendly and there are TV screens mounted on the walls. Plenty of free parking outside. Highly recommend!

First time here , it's a little small space brewery but the vibe is fun. The bartender working right now is amazing . The crowd is a little older then the usual brewery's, nothing wrong with that, but if your used to seeing people scream shots shots this isn't it . This is a more adult peaceful no kids kind of place. And you can bring your best friend aka child " dog" lol

Kickstand Kolsch

I was actually going to another brewery, but had a change of heart; and I wasn't disappointed. A few words to describe the environment, off the cuff, would be...quaint, catchy, fun, and local. Most people don't visit breweries to have a hip-spot to park a caboose. If anything; and most likely, a patron that frequents breweries is one who enjoys the crisp delights of a cold beer. A delight that passes the lips as it crosses the pallet, warms the chest, and fills the belly - leaving only a feeling of total completion and full satisfaction. That said, the Kickstand Kolsch hit the spot (if you couldn't tell). It was light, it was fresh, and it was delicious. The right amount of beer for a warm summers day. Final thoughts: If you live nearby, or are just passing through, Red Tandem should be on your "to do" list. Its worth the visit.

Nice folks, good beer. Kid friendly. Needs some atmosphere. It's a VERY small place, not a 'happening' place but neighborhood storefront.

The Sea Hag IPA is smooth and subtle but definitely has a nice hoppy flavor profile.

Fun and chill vibes at the Mighty axe…read more Love coming for happy hour (4-6pm) to unwind with a beer and games. The axe throwing itself is $35 per person but it is worth it if you are looking for a fun activity or destressor (lol). If you opt out from axe throwing they have other options like card/ board games as well. Side note: They don't have food vendors but there's lots of wonderful food options around the area walking distance. In regards to the drinks, every beer/ alcoholic drink they carry is intentional and they rotate based off season. Every time I've came I've had a wonderful and welcoming experience with the help of Ryan, Marshall, and Mariah. Definitely recommend!

It was a slow night for them. As we arrived at the bar to check in and I have to say that there was not much joy in are presence. My husband presented the Groupon and she immediately said, "Yeah, were not taking those anymore" and mentioned the manager or owners name. My husband immediately showed her that the Groupon had not expired yet. She fiddled looking in the computer and eventually allowed us to sign the waiver and Ray led us to our lane. Listen, if the place was super busy and they were swamped, I could see why they would be bothered by a Groupon hassle. But that was NOT the case and the fact of the matter is, they did not apologize for doubting the validity of the Groupon. It was more like we were an annoyance that we came in at all. Didn't ask us if we wanted something to drink. Ray was excellent at his presentation and instruction, but we were the only people throwing at the time and I was having issues with even hitting the board with the metal part of the axe. Just a helpful hint for the throwers, you will have to get someone back over there by asking if you need anymore help. They are not going to volunteer to help you again. All and all it is a fun environment, but I doubt we will be going back anytime soon. You want to spend money in an establishment that wants you there. Not one that acts like you just pissed in their Cheerios by showing up. Fun place to try, but frustrating if you can't throw the axe correctly to make it stick to the wall.

I only recently learned from the cashier at a taco truck stationed outside of Ventura Coast Brewing that Poco Papanatas means "goofball". It was always a little strange too, because my ex doesn't speak Spanish, and she didn't start calling me that until after that friendly El Salvadoran guy installed our water heater. Ventura Coast Brewing is one of those places that she definitely would not have approved of. It's clean, spacious and there's a huge variety of beers that you can enjoy by the glass or in little tasters that allow for a broader flavor experience - from hazy IPAs, pilsners and stouts to pale ale and seltzers. Love it. They also have 'non-alcoholic hop water', which I imagine is either intended for children and teetotalers or a terrible inside joke that the fellas in the fermentation room thought hilarious. I realized as I was working on my third pale ale and second taco at Ventura Coast Brewing that I've missed out for years on wonderful breweries like this. I was going to call my ex-wife and explain how very wrong she was to think she's too fancy for brew culture, but she's still on vacation in El Salvador. I then thought of the other great many joys in life that I missed out on during our time together. When my ex and I first met she made me throw away my entire TV Guide collection. She hated literature and never trusted me. She once accused me of flirting with the instructor at our Salsa class - insisting that I was far too close to the instructor and my movements were too sensual and provocative. We got to keep the two jars of salsa that we made in class that day, but she unilaterally decided we didn't need to advance to guacamole. Now that I have the freedom to pursue the small joys in life, I will be returning to sit quietly with a beer or two amidst the social rumble of Ventura Coast Brewing to enjoy the years of hard work and craftsmanship curated and produced by the fine folks at Ventura Coast Brewing. Thank you Ventura Coast Brewing!
