Only have been to the food truck that comes to base and the customer service is great. However, the price point is very high. Too high. The chicken and burger are quality ingredients but very bland. There are virtually no seasonings. If the seasoning and flavors were off the chart, I would begin to understand the price point. The salad is very good though. A group of us returned to the Meadowcliff Lodge and RV Resort this year and got our food from the Coachwhip Cafe for the second night of our stay. We had a wide variety of dishes accounted for. My partner and I both ordered the GOCHUJANG CHICKEN. It was delicious. We also ordered the Caprese Salad which was also very tasty. The produce was fresh and delicious. Everyone else in our group was also delighted with their entrees. This restaurant is a gem and a great addition for the area. Be advised that they are currently just takeout. This place is right on the 395 and it's a new restaurant! Close to Topaz Lake/Lodge if you're in that area. I was really excited to see this place open up because they have a lot of exciting and diverse options on their menu that we don't see around this area much. There is a beautiful little outdoor seating area with views of pastures and an epic rock formation. There are vietnamese and moroccon options on the menu. I had the spicy peanut tofu bowl and it was delicious and healthy! I also was eyeing the lentil cakes and the pulled pork banh mi sandwich. They also had traditional items on the menu if that's your jam. My husband had the Bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. It was a lot of food for $9! We also tried the broccoli cheddar soup which was really creamy. The owners seem really nice. They even gave us free lemon bars to try! They were some of the best lemon bars we ever had! read more

What a delight to find this new healthy and tasty gem pop up along an otherwise greasy-spoon laden stretch of 395. The food is fantastic with multiple vegan and vegetarian (and meat) options. There is definitely an emphasis on quality, healthy ingredients in the varied menu. We did not expect to find tasty Thai inspired dishes that rival similar fare from big city eateries, but we're pleasantly surprised by the complex flavors and the crisp freshness of the veggies. We also tried the quiche, salads, soup and desserts. Everything exceeded our expectations. After talking with the super friendly proprietor, whose wife is the chef with 2 decades of fine cuisine restaurant experience around the Country, we learned they've been wanting to open their own spot for years and finally found the right spot to do it. Sounds like they are big outdoor enthusiast looking to practice stewardship by supporting the local Eastern Sierra communities and environment through future partnership and events (including pursuing a sponsorship of a section of the PCT). Consider giving these guys a shot as they are deserving of your support and we need more establishments like this around... and the food is absolutely delicious (and healthy!), you won't regret it. Presently the restaurant is closed but they have a beautiful food truck they have been using for so many different venues all over the eastern Sierra. If you want fresh, healthy food, served with a smile then Coachwhip is the place to go! I go there (when the restaurant is open) on my way to and from Reno/Carson City area and I go to the food trailer/truck which has gigs everywhere on the Eastside. Everyone rants about how great the food and service is. It's so refreshing to be served a delicious, healthy meal from some younger entrepreneurs who know how to cook and are ever so welcoming and friendly. We stumbled upon this gem on our way to Lake Tahoe from Mono. Right on the highway, this little unassuming restaurant has the best food ever. The ingredients are fresh, service is impeccable and the menu is amazing catering to everyone's taste - vegan, vegetarian, meat eaters. We ordered Popcorn Tofu and Portobello mushroom for dinner and we practically wiped the plates clean. My wife and I are foodies and their cuisine is SUPERB; each plate presentation was enough to trigger our tastebuds before the first bite. We started with the Farmers Market Salad, definitely one of the most attractive and tasty salads we have eaten, very different flavors and textures and tastes that make this salad unique. Fresh tasting ingredients used in the dishes, which were NOT your ordinary menu items.. so delicious and beautiful presentation !! I want to get the Chicken Piccata next time... it looks sooo good. Following the great dinner however, the dessert was a let down. The Strawberry cheesecake and lemon bar were covered with a 'whipped cream' of some sort. Outdoor dining area was minimal. What a wonderful find in the most unlikely place. Not your typical burger joint and yes even way better than Whoa Nelli Deli. They are also the nicest people. Even if you are not passing through, worth the drive north from Hwy 120 or south from the Sonora pass. As seen on there menu, they even have a good plant base menu. Okay it's far from everything but it is worth the drive. We go Mammoth often and the beautiful drive was worth the amazing food. We ordered the popcorn tofu, seared tofu and chicken piccata. All delicious and freshly prepared. For desert we had chocolate mousse, key lime bars, cookies and more cookies. All tasted great.
