bacon egg cheese, broccoli cheddar soup, and view

This place is right on the 395 and it's a new restaurant! Close to Topaz Lake/Lodge if you're in that area. I was really excited to see this place open up because they have a lot of exciting and diverse options on their menu that we don't see around this area much. There is a beautiful little outdoor seating area with views of pastures and an epic rock formation. There are vietnamese and moroccon options on the menu. I had the spicy peanut tofu bowl and it was delicious and healthy! I also was eyeing the lentil cakes and the pulled pork banh mi sandwich. They also had traditional items on the menu if that's your jam. My husband had the Bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. It was a lot of food for $9! We also tried the broccoli cheddar soup which was really creamy. The owners seem really nice. They even gave us free lemon bars to try! They were some of the best lemon bars we ever had!

Classic 395 restaurant space in the process of being reimagined into the new Coachwhip Cafe... with a pretty rad craggy backdrop.

What a delight to find this new healthy and tasty gem pop up along an otherwise greasy-spoon laden stretch of 395. The food is fantastic with multiple vegan and vegetarian (and meat) options. There is definitely an emphasis on quality, healthy ingredients in the varied menu. We did not expect to find tasty Thai inspired dishes that rival similar fare from big city eateries, but we're pleasantly surprised by the complex flavors and the crisp freshness of the veggies. We also tried the quiche, salads, soup and desserts. Everything exceeded our expectations. After talking with the super friendly proprietor, whose wife is the chef with 2 decades of fine cuisine restaurant experience around the Country, we learned they've been wanting to open their own spot for years and finally found the right spot to do it. Sounds like they are big outdoor enthusiast looking to practice stewardship by supporting the local Eastern Sierra communities and environment through future partnership and events (including pursuing a sponsorship of a section of the PCT). Consider giving these guys a shot as they are deserving of your support and we need more establishments like this around... and the food is absolutely delicious (and healthy!), you won't regret it. Great outside eating area with views too. No food pics because we ate it too fast, sorry.

Don't miss this place! We stopped here for lunch yesterday, on our way from Tahoe to Mammoth, based on all the great reviews here. What a treat! Fresh, delicious, creative food, made and served by people who really care about what they're doing here. And what a beautiful setting! Check out our photos and stop by!

Nice quick bite for brunch on our way into the canyon. You can tell the food is thoughtfully crafted because the menu is diverse. The Vietnamese pulled pork is so juicy and tender. The goat cheese in the grilled cheese sandos makes them delightfully tangy and creamy. I appreciate this cafe's mere existence in rural Coleville because it's a tasty, healthy alternative to the traditional American restaurants offered nearby. Honorable mention: the fantastic view!

Winter specials - beef stew over mashed potatoes, winter salad, chickpea potato soup.

Coachwhip Cafe is a true gem, and my husband and I look forward to stopping there every time we drive the 395 corridor. The food is excellent -- fresh, beautifully presented, flavorful, and clearly planned and executed with care. The setting is majestic, and Liane and Niko are welcoming and friendly. We are so lucky to have them in our Eastern Sierra community.

I'm giving this restaurant four stars only because they don't have dine in available yet. The menu selections are all to my liking! Love the fresh and inviting options. So great to have healthier choices! And the view...beautiful!

The Coachwhip Cafe is delicious! I had the coconut cashew dish with chicken and snow peas. It was flavorful, cooked perfectly, and was healthy but filling. My partner had the clam chowder with a grilled cheese which were equally delicious! Their menu is awesome and really considers everyone. They have options for vegan/vegetarian/ and meat and cheese lovers. It's the best place to eat between Tahoe and Mammoth. Their service was great and prices fair. They gave us free cookies with our meal! The outdoor dining area has a gorgeous Mountain view. Definitely stop here!

Definately worth stopping here !! What a joy to find this little restaurant tucked in next to the KOA. Keep your eyes out, it's easy to miss. I had the salmon, which came with broccoli-perfectly cooked and rice. My husband had the Gochujang chicken. Fresh tasting ingredients used in the dishes, which were NOT your ordinary menu items.. so delicious and beautiful presentation !! I want to get the Chicken Piccata next time... it looks sooo good. Following the great dinner however, the dessert was a let down. The Strawberry cheesecake and lemon bar were covered with a 'whipped cream' of some sort. Outdoor dining area was minimal. Can't wait until they finish for inside dining !! We agreed it was the best take out we've had. I look forward to stopping by again, next time will be for lunch.

They were on time and ready to go. Very organized! We had a stuffed brisket with a delicious whiskey bbq sauce, rosemary potatoes salad,& a green salad with the most delicious large crotons! The truck itself is very clean. Impressed with the quality and quantity of each serving. Would hire again!

Food truck at Amador Brewing. Menu had no pricing and I was shocked to find out that we paid 10…read morebucks each for a standard hot dog and a fish sandwich. The fish was listed as fish and chips on the menu. So imagine our surprise when what we received was a very small piece of fried fish stick inside a GIANT sandwich roll with tons of cabbage fresh from the plastic bag smothered in a sweet and sickly sugar water glaze. I think they thought they were making coleslaw. Uhh, no! No mayo, no spices, no seasoning, just cabbage from a bag swimming in sugar syrup, no acid, no flavor. The hot dog was straight off the Sysco truck. Probably cost all of .85 to make but charged 10.00! Really not a good dog at all but what made it worse was more of that sweet, crappy coleslaw that seems to be the "filler" on all their dishes. A big plastic container of crappy coleslaw with a tiny portion of what you actually ordered does not disquise a terrible dish and way over priced food. When I asked why don't you display their pricing on the chalkboard menu, the response was "we want you to ask"? WTF?? You mean you want to hide your ridiculously overpriced food vs what you actually receive. Also, the fish sandwich was written as fish and chips. Barely any fish, all bread and said crappy coleslaw along with a few very cold, greasy, kettle chips. Not actually chips nor fish and chips in the traditional menu item. Bait and switch selling tactics delivered with subpar food. They did earn a star because when I questioned the description of fish chips and showed them what we received saying this is a fish sandwich, not fish and chips, he asked me what did I expect? Umm duh, I expected Fish and Chips just as you wrote on the menu description (with no price). I told him I would give him back the humongous, dried sandwich roll for another peice of fish. He accommodated the request turning a terrible review into a buyer beware review with the key tip to ASK questions! Ask about price and how the dish is actually composed and with what ingredients. Buyer Beware!
