    Half eaten Baja fries lol

DELICIOUS food, super spicy (optional) sauce on the rolling Baja fries. Cubanito bowl was great too for a protein option.

The best bite in Mammoth. 1. We were in town for a weekend and someone recommended this spot to us. On our way out of town, we stopped by for breakfast (crazy I know) and it happened to be the best bite I've ever had in Mammoth. 2. Their truck is located in a parking lot so parking is plenty and their spot has some shaded picnic tables. 3. We had the loaded saltado burrito with steak. It was loaded for sure and was flavorful!! It's definitely enough to feed two and I felt like I got steak with every bite. All ingredients were cooked well and the burrito felt balanced. Lomo saltado is usually cooked in a wok and you can definitely taste the wok hei (smoky flavor that comes with wok cooking) here. 4. The person taking out order was also friendly and he also let us try all 3 sauces. The chimichurri was my favorite. 5. Highly highly recommend coming here if you're looking for a place to eat in Mammoth. They also have a truck in Bishop!

This food truck was parked by Footloose when we gave it a try. The team was very friendly and helpful in choosing the Choripan sandwich. So delicious! The food came out pretty quickly and piping hot.

This is a favorite in Mammoth. Quick made to order Latin food with delicious salsas make this a winner every time. Highly recommend the chorizo and any of the green salsas.

The burrito was so good I came back multiple times during my vacation. Everything was well seasoned, moist, and the salsa was delicious.

I had specifically asked to substitute the rice, but it was still served -- and there was a hair in it, which is absolutely unacceptable from a hygiene standpoint. The kids' burger was overcooked to the point of being dry like a cracker, and the fries looked and tasted like they were cooked in old, repeatedly used oil. This is unsafe and unacceptable, especially for children's food. The steak was ordered medium well, but was served well done -- completely overcooked. The chimichurri sauce was also misleading: instead of the classic green sauce, a red mixture was served that had nothing to do with it. The coleslaw was simply awful. Additionally, the staff showed no proper response -- we were not offered a replacement, a discount, or even a proper apology. This reflects a complete disregard for service standards and customer care. In its current state, this does not meet even basic restaurant standards.

My primary issue with this establishment occurs before you even receive your meal: the digital…read moreordering system demands a gratuity upfront. Expecting customers to tip before they have evaluated the service or even laid eyes on their food is a highly objectionable business practice. This policy is especially frustrating when the subsequent service and food quality fail to justify that forced investment. As out-of-town visitors, we found the pub completely unaccommodating. There were zero instructions on how to order, making it feel exclusively geared toward locals who already know the routine. We had to flag down a staff member wiping tables outside just to learn we needed to scan a QR code. The service we received after being forced to tip was incredibly disappointing. Our beet salad arrived first, but the runner dropped it off and vanished so quickly that we couldn't ask for a second silverware setting. Since we intended to share the salad, we had to wait. The salmon plate didn't arrive until roughly 15 minutes later. When we finally managed to ask our waiter for the extra silverware, he treated a basic hospitality request as a major inconvenience. Getting a simple fork felt like pulling teeth. The value for the price is simply not there. The grilled salmon plate was remarkably small--well under three ounces of fish. To make matters worse, the accompanying vegetables consisted of literally three skinny asparagus spears and two even thinner carrots. Between the aggressive upfront tipping, the small portion fish size, and the dismissive attitude of the staff, this establishment has massive room for improvement. I am leaving a two-star rating in hopes that management will reconsider their ordering system and address these glaring service deficiencies.

Decided to still try out a couple of new spots to give Mammoth a chance and was pleasantly surprised by Mammoth Tavern. Stopped in on a Saturday night and were told that the wait would be about 30 to 40 minutes but were seated in about 10! I highly recommend waiting in their waiting area or downstairs for your table as they will come to find to if something opens up quicker. Everything we ordered was tasty. We were very hesitant to try the Asian sticky ribs but it actually ended up being really good. I can't remember what the vegetable dish (4th pic) was called but it was also very good if you got a bite with everything in it. It had sweet potato, beet, candied walnuts and pomegranate seeds! We also ordered some drinks. The curry drink (forgot the name) was surprisingly good despite the odd list of ingredients that went in. Their local black cherry soda was also very nice. Service is great and very helpful when it came to recommendations. The space is small and doesn't allow dogs which was a bummer but still a spot I would come back to try more of their seasonal items!

She was very friendly and we were thankful she informed us that they were shorthanded so we lowered our expectations on the service. We've come so often that we know what is normal. There were three of us this time and my girlfriend and I want to split a meal. We simply asked if they would cut the ribs and the meatloaf in half. Erin went above and beyond and brought out two complete splits for us. It was very kind. My husband ordered the pork chops and said they were excellent. Everything was really good that night, but we sat outside, near the end where they used to have a yoga studio, but now it's a bar of some sort. The competing music was annoying. My husband and I returned again and everything was back to normal. We did sit closer to the front door, but the music seemed to be just fine. Eric was our server with assistance from Em and Brian. Everybody was so attentive and on top of things. The minute my water glass was half empty, Brian had it filled up. The owner, Matt, even came out to say hello. We told him that we have been following him since he was chef at the gas station My husband and I are older and don't eat as much as we used to. So this time we split a dinner Caesar and split the ribs. They are so kind to give us separate plates and no split charge. The food and our experience was excellent. When asked by visitors where to eat, we sent them to Toomey's.

Genius, convenient and perfect for groups as there's no splitting the bill awkwardly at the end. And the dog friendliness is so clutch, our pups always enjoy the sunshine and rest. When we arrived the restaurant was fairly empty. Around 5:30. That should have been a clue.... When we requested them to put tables together they were so rude and acted like we were severely inconveniencing them. We're out to dinner with friends on vacation so excuse us for wanting to all sit together in your empty restaurant! When it was time to order I nicely asked if it was easier for the server to divide the checks by our 3 families as we ordered or wait until they brought us the bill. Server says neither could be done. Their "system" wouldn't allow it. It would be impossible.. So I said that was odd because I eat out at least 3 or 4 times a week and usually it's not a problem.. So I offer what I thought was a reasonable solution ... They seemed so put out that they had to put together 3 small tables for our group so I suggested entering the order as 3 separate tables .. Nope! Couldn't be done. Food wouldn't come out at the same time. I said we didn't mind that. I even pulled our table a little away from the other 2 and said ... Ok, now we're our own table.. Nope! Couldn't be done.. best they could do is put everything on one check and we'd have to figure out how to divide it up ourselves and they could run separate cards. Now here's the thing if you're reading this thinking I'm just whining and being unreasonable.... I'm giving them my business.. it ended up being over $300 of business for them. I own my own business so I know the value of customer service. If I make a reasonable request for something that is done all the time at other places and they flatly refuse and do that with attitude,,, that is a horrible customer service. They do realize they're in a service industry, right??. When they tell me that my request isn't possible thats a lie because I do it all the time. What they are really saying is that they don't WANT to do it or are refusing to try to figure out a way to accommodate our request. Normally I tell the server that if they can't figure out a way to fulfill my simple request and we have to do it ourselves I'll just deduct some from their tip since I have to do their job and it seems they don't want to be inconvenienced. But since we were a larger group they automatically hit us with a service charge. So instead, next time we'll take our large group to Gomez's which I hear is better and hope the servers are more friendly and more accommodating.
