I'm just a tourist passing through Lee Vining, and I found this place on Yelp on a Sunday night. What a great find. This place was amazing! I ordered the tri-tip sandwich, and the chef absolutely delivered. It may honestly be the best tri-tip I've had in Northern California. The portion was generous, the price was very reasonable, and everything tasted fresh and perfectly made. Andres and his team were on top of everything and made me feel genuinely welcome from the moment I walked in. Great food, great service, and a great experience all around. Ohhhh... and the dessert? My family stopped at had a quick lunch after leaving Yosemite. The burger and tots were generic (which is good for me), my son said the tri-tip sandwich he said was good but my husband said the pulled pork sandwich was overwhelmed by the very ketchup-y bbq sauce. Amazing experience! We visited over the Labor Day weekend and they were busy. However, that didn't stop the top notch service we received!! My second visit, one year apart. Each time the service is excellent. Small-town diner/restaurant vibe, very friendly. Bar attached- looks like the place where everyone knows your name, and you can watch and argue over the game with other friendly folks. The bbq is excellent. I have had the pork ribs, baby backs and half chicken. Slow-cooked, no cheating here. The sauce is a wonderful sweet sticky tomato based glaze that most people will love. A great find ! read more

We gave them an unfair challenge by showing up with 20 people. It took them a little while to get us seated, but then served us very nicely. I had a half-rack of baby back pork ribs, which were good, and came with a very well stocked salad bar with soups and fresh bread. My wife got a pulled pork sandwich and she liked it too. This will be a honest review. First of all customer service is a 10 they get you seated very quickly and they do make sure you have refills at all time.. after that being said we were a party of four I ordered the ribs and the salad bar and My kids all ordered bacon cheeseburgers. The ribs were not good. There was absolutely no smoke to them. They were crockpot ribs with no seasoning and a very nasty barbecue sauce poured on top. The salad bar was very basic. They need to add more to it with fresher ingredients the three bacon cheeseburgers all the kids said the burger were just OK. The fries were good.. this place has such potential it's in a very beautiful location right off the highway but it's mediocre food..Something should've told me when we got there why we were the only ones. most people don't leave reviews, but it makes sense why we were the only ones there. read more

The meat and Dino ribs were so juicy and tender. The meat was literally falling off the bone! The chicken was so juicy, and the spare ribs was so saucy and packed with flavor. The waiter was so nice and joked around with us for a little bit. He was very funny and kind. There was also a salad and soup bar, and the soup tastes so good. After a long day of driving and hiking, my wife and I decided some BBQ would be wonderful...But we were sorely mistaken. The food was bland. My burger had no flavor and my wife's rib plate was drenched with BBQ sauce. The only saving grace was the waiter.He was kind and attentive. We ended up in this restaurant as one of the few dog friendly places in Lee Vining. They have indoor and outdoor seating. During our visit, which was a US major holiday weekend, they were understaffed, and the service was slow, but they got the job done. The food was good. We both ordered hamburgers. My sweet tooth was kicking after being in the wilderness for a couple days. We stopped by about 20-30 minutes before closing for some dessert. The food at this place is just okay but the service is awesome! Stopped by with girlfriend and family for an early dinner and we sat outside. This place boasts having great bbq but there isn't really anything to write home about. I personally had the tri-tip sandwich and it was okay. It was a large portion with a lot of meat and generous serving of tater tots. But it lacked flavor and sauce. My girlfriend had a no bun burger which she said was still pretty good but her favorite thing was the fries. The service was awesome with good pacing, consistent check-ins, and timely drink refills and request for sauces. This place was on the pricier side for what it was regarding quality. We should have read the reviews prior to stopping here. Cheeseburger was about an eighth inch thick and flavorless, coleslaw also lacked flavor and the steak fries were undercooked and barely warm. The other dinner was a New York steak. This too lacked flavor. The salad was ok , but not terrific. The potatoes was good, but then it's difficult to mess up a baked potato. Wait staff was OK but nothing special. This is not, in my opinion, a true barbecue restaurant. The ambience is semi rustic, semi barbecue with some nice historic pictures on the walls. If you want Niceleys food then just go to Niceleys! read more

Save your money ! Gave one star so my review would show above all the zero stars. ( I did not check yelp before I was seated) BM's was suggested by a front desk employee as a request for a Hamburger place. My Hamburger was bellow average. I am guessing it was a previously frozen 1/8 th inch thick low quality burger. it was disguised quite well under a lovely large lettuce leaf, lovely tomato, onion slice and a ton of institution steak fries. I should have just had the condiments on a bun. My Husband ordered a pulled pork sandwich which he did not eat more than a bite of. It was mush, again our guess is an institution bag of premade frozen food just tossed in maybe boiling water. We stood at the stairs waiting to be seated next to another person on their cell phone, fine until we learned he was the person to be seating us. His body language implied we were interrupting him. Should have taken the hint then. The feeling we left with is this is a restaurant that has the idea no one is going to be a repeat customer, just passing so give them no reason to come back. We've been coming here for years, either when passing through on motorcycles, or making a special trip from Mammoth when we stay there. My favorite is the BBQ tri-tip sandwich, always flavorful, with plenty of sauce and the bun and onions done perfect. The weather on the patio in the summer afternoons is nice, with shaded tables, and we love to bring our dog along. Service has always been great. We did not experience the tacked-on tip that others referenced. Wait staff earned every bit of the 20% I voluntarily left as a tip. read more

After spending the morning exploring the eastern portion of Yosemite National Park with some friends, we all decided that we needed some BBQ in our lives. Bodie Mike's had some decent reviews here on Yelp so we gave it a go. We were promptly seated outside on the patio and given menus. Our waitress then came over to introduce herself and to go over some of their specialties. She was nice and informative about the menu. I honestly can't remember what anyone else ordered but I went with the pulled pork and I found it to just be ok. I didn't blow my mind but it also wasn't bad. Terrible service. Went in hoping to try the ribs after a long day fishing. We were seated and promptly asked what we wanted to drink which was fine, but that's where the service ended. We waited for someone to come and take our order and nothing. We watched other patrons enter, get seated, and then had their orders taken and still nothing! We finally asked the waitress if she was going to take our order and she plain out said it wasn't her area yet she was the only waitress in the entire patio where we sat. We asked to speak to the manager and out of frustration and anger asked him if it was because of our skin color that they were ignoring us and not serving us and the manager, rather than remedy the situation just blew us off! We stopped at this place because, i basically kidnapped my family at drove them down the 395, they were starving. The service was good and the staff was very friendly, but the food average at best. My burger was good, not great, not bad but it was good. The chili was rough, they should've just brought a can of stag chili. My wife ordered the pulled pork, which if you're a BBQ fan will be a disappointment for sure. My kids ordered chicken strips and chicken nuggets with tater tots and French fries, which if you ever bought a bag of any of those from the freezer section is exactly what you remember them tasting like. If this place was in any other location I would've give it two stars, but choices were slim in Lee Vining, so three stars it is, plus the bar looked like a great place to grab a drink after a day on the lake, and they have a pool table! read more
