I've been visiting Walker Burger for decades, and it's just a joy every time. The staff are always very friendly and helpful, and service is efficient. They have a beautiful outdoor eating area with good shade options. The menu is surprisingly extensive for such a tiny spot. Burgers, fries, and shakes are all excellent, like "wow, I wish I could get burgers this good when I'm not here" level good. They even carry gluten free buns for those of us who can't eat wheat, and they're shockingly good! They also have good options for vegetarians. The wait in line is where it starts, as the sun is typically beating down as you wait to order in the dirt parking lot, making the shade from the narrow porch and the friendly hello from the order taker your first reward for being here. Usually I'm hungry from a busy morning of breaking down camp, and a 1/4lb Walker Burger with American cheese, fresh veggies and secret sauce on a fluffy fresh seeded soft bun always hits. Summer time usually has me ordering a fresh seasonal fruit shake (peach) but honestly every shake is fantastic and I also LOVE the coffee shakes, which are made with real coffee and coffee beans for extra punch. Fries are always hot and fresh, and best of all they come out crispy without asking for it! Service is always friendly and fun too. What makes this spot special is the garden dining. Picnic tables are scattered throughout a well shaded area offering travelers a cool and relaxing area to enjoy their food. Yes definitely stop here not only if the food good shake, ice cream to cool off or a slushy. They have dog bowls for water for your fury friends just ask in the front. This garden is amazing all these spots to eat all over even a picnic area with picnic blankets eat and take a nap.. let the kids play with the riding toys. Worth the stop relax for a little don't get discouraged by the line it goes fast. And plenty of parking even for your RV. Bathroom if handicap accessible along with parking. We came here recently on our way to Lake Tahoe. Parking was easier than I remembered and we parked in the lot next to Walker Burger. It had been years since my last Walker Burger and it was even better than I remembered. The line was 20+ people long, but it moved quickly and the food was ready in a reasonable amount of time considering everything is made fresh to order. We also didn't mind waiting, because they have a lovely dog friendly garden and plenty of seating and shade. We ordered a couple of burgers and a large fries. I had the BBQ Bacon Burger and it was very easily one of the best burgers I've had anywhere. The quality of their meat and the flavor was incredible. After eating, we ordered dessert and I made a comment about the meat being really good. We found out that it's sourced locally, which is probably why it's so good. We also found out that the owner's family member is vegan, so they offer vegan, and vegetarian items. They even have a dedicated fryer so their fries don't get cross contaminated. I was very impressed by their level of consideration for different dietary needs, and as someone with food allergies I really appreciate this. We originally wanted the mushroom Swiss burger but they had ran out. The shakes were good but if you order a shake, just know it's very thick. I tried to be quick to get a photo of the food but my guys just dove right in! All of the food is delicious, big servings, and made with love! Every time I visit my family in Bishop and Lone Pine we stop for food. So I've been coming here my whole life and I'm 42. This place has been here forever and never disappoints. The staff is so welcoming and attentive. You'll enjoy sitting in the patio area. There's plenty of seating and lots of fun things to look at. They even sale custom bird houses. Perfect pit stop for a quick yummy burger to eat on our way up to Lake Tahoe. Its one of the few stops that is about an hour or so away from there so we gauged it well since we were starving after a long drive from the OC. The place is small and gets pretty crowded. They have the cutes seating arrangements outside. Benches and chairs all surrounded by farm type decor. The burgers can be pricey but well worth it. Juicy and pretty big in themselves. We tried the bbq burger and my friend liked the sauce but I couldn't get my taste buds to accept it. It was extra sweet in my opinion but it still left my tummy feeling satisfied.
