If you want pickles and tomatoes go ahead and ask for it. Shredded lettuce is included. Oasis: There are trees, lawn, and at least a dozen tables with benches. Some of them are scattered about, and some a bit hidden away. In this sage scrub desert, a truly pleasant place to sit a while. 1/1 star Value: 0.6 / 1 stars for rather expensive burgers , order your fries separately. The root beer float is worth all of the pennies though. Service: For a walk up kitchen, my expectations are not high. Stopped at this Burger place on our way to Yosemite national Park, really love the family wipes and the backyard set up with the tables. We got one ortega Bogo, one walker burger, one crispy chicken sandwich, one grilled chicken sandwich. Everyone in my party loved all of their sandwiches and burgers. They were so happy we decided to stop by this family owned place instead of a chain fast food restaurant. We didn't expect to find anything outside of a lone sketchy McDonalds, so you can imagine how ecstatic we were to see Walker Burger up the road. You can tell from the aesthetic that this place does everything right. They have a beautiful backyard area with plenty of grass, shade, and seating. They have a cute little shack with specialty merchandise that is definitely worth the value. The four of us downed some spectacular burgers, fries, and taquitos! Those taquitos have the right amount of cheese, crunch, and shredded marinated chicken. The burgers were juicy and packed beautifully. The fries were crinkle cut, fat, and had the perfect amount of salt. Those puppies vanished instantly. And those shakes, wow! You can mix and match their abundance of flavors in an infinite amount of ways. For instance: I combined cherry with vanilla, my buddy mixed root beer and vanilla, and his fiancé made a chocolate raspberry combination! But of course, the best shake from us four was that of my girlfriend's- and hers was JUST banana! Sometimes less is more. We've gone to Walker Burger for years. But this year was quite a disappoinment. As usual, we sat in the lovely garden but were overwhelmed by flies the whole time. No "wind" gizmos were available to prevent the flies from landing on our food. I ordered the salad with grilled chicken. It was way overloaded on a small plate and I couldn't even toss the dressing on it. Very few items in the salad and uninteresting. Fun excentric outside eating areas including 2 nice double seatings by a small running waterfall. A few too many flies right by the ordering area some of which were inside (the food prep area). Outdoor seating is important to us since we usually travel with our dog these days. The garden was well-maintained and the outdoors was a welcomed break from sitting in the car. Based on the advice of a knowledgeable fire ranger, friends and I stopped here for lunch last week. First a little about the garden/patio area behind the burger stand: It's a garden. It's an oasis. In an otherwise unremarkable locale on the eastern side of the Sierras, it's a welcome sight for the hungry,the thirsty, the ones badly in need of sustenance. For those far from home and wanting some comforting surroundings while they refuel and rest before continuing on their journeys, it's a go-to spot to stretch out on green gass in the shade and gaze upon flowers and fountains bubbling happily away. Now, about the ~food~... I had the Ortega burger, a large root beer, and a smll order of fries. Even though I was pretty hungry, I was hard put to finish everything included in my order. The food tasted ~wonderful~. The burgers are cooked to order, so you'll have to wait a bit. No pre-cooked burgers waiting in a warmer for indeterminate times. The fries were tasty, too. Even though I'd ordered the small size, the order was not skimpy. There's a covered patio with tables, a shaded grassy lawn area with tables and lots of open grass area where picnic cloths may be laid out (ppicnic cloths are provided.) [Out front, there's a bucket of water with a sqeegee so that weary travelerscan scrub the bugs and dirt from their windshields. It's a nice, complementary touch. ] We ate lunch, then went out on a 3 day backpacking trip. No indigestion from old grease or any other troubles. Our burgers sat happily in our guts digesting away, providing sustenance for our strenuous activity.
