I've spent many a weekend in Mammoth enjoying the weather, skiing, town, and eats and I'm a little disappointed in myself for never having realized the best breakfast spot in all of Mammoth is located in a nondescript latin market. I devoured the bacon breakfast burrito and trust me when I, an avid burrito eater from San Dog, CA, say that this burrito deserves more notoriety. Most places screw up the easiest part of a burrito, not mixing together the inside ingredients, but not Latin Market. The bacon was crispy, eggs steaming, potatoes tender, and flavor brilliant. Came here on Sunday morning before leaving Mammoth. When you walk in it just seems like a market but it has a menu and everything! I got the ham n cheese with egg croissant and it was HUGE. Ordered at the register up front and took the ticket to the kitchen. I took my burrito back to the condo me as nicely surprised that it had some really delicious red and green salsas, some pintos and a roasted pepper. All were a nice add on to the burrito. Hole in the wall market with a restaurant in the back, good cheap option in a tourist town. Can see why it's super appealing to go option as it's fast and a lot of food to boot. Our family tried 6 of the tacos and a carne asada fries. The fries are the way to go - so much French fries covered in healthy amounts of pico, guac, steak, cheese. It's not light by any stretch of the imagination but after a long day of skiing or hiking, hits the spot. The tacos are all on the corn (fish, asada, cabeza, carnitas, chorizo, adobada) and generous on the meat and comes with some beans, salsa and grilled onions/jalepeno. Nothing about the tacos felt super special though as all the meat was a bit on the dry side, though salsa helps. Be warned that red stuff is spicy. All in all, being from Texas, had better tacos but would come back for the asada fries for sure. read more

A hole in the wall and a local's staple! I come here for the food specifically, but sometimes will find an item or two in the store to purchase as well. I've tried a lot of different dishes here, both breakfast and regular meals, and they have all hit the spot without making a dent in the wallet. My favorites still have to be their tacos! The process is: you order and pay with the cashier in the front (where the menu is also located), take the ticket to the back of house and give it to the kitchen staff, then wait for your name to be called when the food is ready. There are also desserts and drinks by the front that you can purchase in addition to your food. They have a lot of different sauces available for you to add onto your food. There were cocroaches around the sauces in the market, wait was extremely long. I ordered a carne burrito and elote and waited 30 minutes until i realised they were skipping my order. When i saw someone who ordered after me get 3 plates and mine wasn't out i went to check in with the kitchen and guess what they told me that theyre working on it. Until i straight up told them i have SEEN people after me get their food is when they said they'll make it and it came out in 2 minutes. God awful service the food was 6/10 at best. I was really looking forward to cabeza and I barely had any in my burrito it was also cold but I think that's because someone of the contents were from the fridge that don't need to be warm. Being in a place such as mammoth you want to cherish every memory made.. even if it's just a meal. It felt like I haven't had a family trip in so long & wanted to pick a place we don't usually find near home, something different. The lady and son who checked us out were super sweet and the cook that gave our orders, packaged it generously with a side of ketchup.
