This charming little cafe was very near our hotel, so we stopped in -- then because we loved the food, and staff and cinnamon rolls and croissants, we came back the next morning before we left town. It's THAT good. I had the Florentine Benedict -- it's served on an amazing croissant with scrumptious hollandaise sauce. Oh my.... Then granddaughter had a Vegetarian Scramble that was chock-full of delicious veggies. Husband had the Classic Breakfast with a biscuit he raved about. The reviews had me sold... unfortunately, the experience did not. I came here specifically because of all the positive reviews I saw on Yelp. I normally never write reviews, but after seeing so many glowing reviews beforehand, I was genuinely surprised by how disappointing our experience was. I'm honestly still trying to figure out how we had such a different experience from what I was reading. The food: The omelette arrived with the eggs and vegetables basically doing their own thing separate from each other which was an interesting take on an omelette. The pancakes tasted undercooked and had a doughy texture. The service: Not great. Our waiter brought the food and then seemed to disappear. No one checked on us, and we actually had to ask for water refills. There were plenty of empty tables, so the restaurant being busy wasn't an excuse. The next time our waiter came by was with the check. The bill: This is where I really raised an eyebrow. The menu said avocado was $1.75 to add, but we were charged $2.99. When I pointed it out, the waiter removed the charge and added it to the omelette instead. What bothered me was that there was no apology or acknowledgment that we had been overcharged. It was eventually corrected, but the whole thing felt very unprofessional. And unfortunately, both my fiancé and I ended up with pretty stomach ache afterward. I can't say for certain that it was from the food, but the timing definitely wasn't suspicious. Overall, this was a one-and-done for us. Between the food, service, and billing issue, the experience just didn't live up to the Yelp hype. And honestly, it makes me wonder what else they might be getting away with on people's bills. While the presentation of our breakfast plates was very nice--specifically the green garden omelet and the French toast--the overall experience was unfortunately marred by poor customer service. ​My omelet was supposed to include sourdough bread. When our waiter delivered our entrees, he noted that he would return with the bread shortly. However, it never arrived during the course of our meal. After we finished eating, a different staff member came by to asked if we're ready for the bill. When I mentioned the missing side, our original waiter finally brought out a single, untoasted slice of sourdough with butter alongside the check. ​When I informed him that I no longer needed it since we had already finished our meal, he mumbled something under his breath, abruptly told us to pay at the front, and walked away. We received absolutely no apology for the oversight or for his dismissive attitude. ​While the kitchen staff did a lovely job with the food, the front-of-house service needs significant improvement. probably a 3.5 *. Busy for a Thursday at 9:30am but it is summer. Still seated right away. Lacking in service but the sole waiter was working very hard and friendly. Lots of other employees milling around, setting tables, cleaning, etc but only one guy taking orders. I very much enjoyed the machaca scramble-tasty but not too spicy, no bell peppers (ya hoo), not salty, and a large serving--it will make a great left-over breakfast burrito. Wife ordered a spinach/mushroom omelette with cheddar instead of feta, cottage cheese instead of potatoes (but they were out of cottage cheese so avocado instead). When her omelette arrived, there was no avocado and feta cheese--we got the overworked waiter to exchange it--she noted that it was very dry. It was a challenge to get a to-go box and the bill. So great that your coffee cup is never empty! BC offers a huge variety of breakfast, brunch and lunch options. Yep, a little bit of everything for everyone. I recommend the machaca breakfast burrito. Loaded with beefy goodness and covered in sauce n cheese! Get it with a side of hash browns too, they do em right IMO. I saw this place seemed really good to try out from social media and wanted to give it a try for my birthday. There was no customer service and communication from the host. I was standing at the stand waiting to get helped she did not say anything. Another worker had came to the host stand, looked at me and said nothing. I was waiting for a bit longer and someone finally talked to me. She only said if we wanted to sit outside, I asked if there was seating outside and she just nodded and that was it. I stopped here this morning to grab a pastry since I was trying to get up the mtn quickly. I've had cooked food here before and was impressed a few years ago. Today I stopped for a pastry and went inside to get a blueberry muffin and I have to say that it is the poorest excuse for a blueberry muffin that I've ever seen besides at a gas station. My family and I visited The Breakfast Club while in Mammoth, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The food was mediocre and nothing really stood out. The home fries were underwhelming, and the scrambled eggs were not something I would order again. The pancakes were okay according to my wife, but nothing special. My son ordered the shredded beef burrito, and for the price, I expected it to be at least a little larger. My order was also supposed to include a biscuit, but it was never brought out. One thing that caught me by surprise was the automatic 18% gratuity added to a table of five. Be sure to check your bill carefully. The gratuity was added on top of the tax, which I found frustrating. Our waiter was friendly and provided good service. However, the person who brought out our food did not seem very welcoming. We asked for an extra plate and utensils, but they weren't brought out until I reminded him. He also questioned why we needed the additional utensils. If customers ask for something simple like that, it would be better to just provide it. Overall, this was my first visit and likely my last. If I return to Mammoth in the future, I'll probably skip eating here and make breakfast at my Airbnb instead. read more

Wow, just wow, I'm not fibbing when I say this is the best breakfast place I've ever eaten at. In the last couple years this place has gotten better and better. Everything that I have tried on the menu has been fantastic! Recently I had the eggs Benedict, except for I had it on a fresh made daily from scratch homemade croissant and instead of ham I added avocado and it was phenomenal to say the least. The hollandaise sauce is the best I've ever had, and I'm pretty picky when it comes to my hollandaise sauce. Another thing, the other day I tried the bear claw. I've been coming here for years & always get breakfast so I had never tried the pastries, that was a big mistake on my part because the pastries are made in-house from scratch, it was so good, I couldn't stop thinking about that bear claw. Next time I went in for breakfast I got two of them to go . They cover all the bases with the menu & even have breakfast burritos and sandwiches that you can order in advance and grab for the road, trail, fishing or chairlift. If you want a mimosa, quality espresso or fancy coffee drink, they got you covered. And if you love hot sauce, no worries, they've got em all. After reading all of the positive reviews, I decided to give it a try. Came in around 12:30pm on a Sunday and there was no wait at all. Decided to go with the Club Burrito with bacon ($2 additional). The food came out in no time and first thoughts were the hash browns were burnt and definitely sitting around from the breakfast rush and they just re-heated it on the flat top. It did not look appetizing at all. it was soggy and not crispy at all. Then I took a bite of the burrito that had Ranchero sauce all over it. The tartness was the first thing that hit me. I was not expecting the sauce to be that tart. Usually the green sauce is supposed to be the tart one. There was a lot of eggs inside of it, which I absolutely appreciate. However, the bacon that I paid $2 as an added protein was soft and not crispy at all. It's a thicker cut but definitely been sitting around and just re-heated. I'm starting to notice a pattern here. I don't know if that's how they serve their bacon, but it was not good. Back to the sauce, I decided to just taste it to figure out what it's made of. To me, it tasted like they just took Tajin and added water. The customer service was great and I love that they fresh baked goods in the front. Overall, I was a little disappointed with my meal. We came here on the 4th of July and they were slammed. The food was good but some of the servers seemed a little on edge, probably from the increased guests on the busy holiday. Still everything came out in a timely manner. They cooked my over-medium eggs and hash browns perfectly and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The interior is also cute and very homey. Eggs were cooked perfect over easy, sausage was moist with a great texture, and pancakes were 12" round, so a short stack (2 pancakes) were more than enough. I finished everything.
