Stopped here last month during my first visit to Mammoth Lakes. The food, the service, the ambiance was awesome. Can't say anything bad about this place. It would be worth a 2nd visit the next time we are back in town.

A local's favorite where they welcome visitors. We love the food, each time the menu is different but everything has been excellent. I can't pick a favorite between the beef eggplant and the mushroom ravioli. My husband raves about the bison bacon burger. The salad has fresh berries. Dessert is not to missed whatever it is. The service is super friendly. The chef owner is so friendly. The vibe is casual, a little European bistro feel, comfortable not divey.

Places with a 5* rating on Yelp are rare, and the food there is usually outstanding. That's exactly what happened at Dish Bistro - my new favorite place in Mammoth. First of all, it doesn't feel touristy at all, I would assume the percentage of locals coming here is way higher than any other place on Main St or in the Village. The room is not huge, maybe 20-30 seat total, and very cozy. But most importantly - the food was as good as it gets. I had Lamb and Potato Curry, and it was so perfectly executed that I couldn't think of a better way of doing it. My gf also enjoyed her chicken dish a lot. Will be back for sure every time I'm in Mammoth - super good when it comes to literally every aspect of a great meal.

After we arrived in Mammoth we decided to tool around the downtown areas of mammoth. My hubs found this place on Yelp of course. It was a charming, intimate spot with cute chairlift seats covered in lambs wool, very clever. The menu was up on the wall on a chalkboard. The first thing I noticed was how small the selection was and I Loved that! I have always found the smaller the menu, the better the food will look and taste. We were starving so we ordered quickly and only a few guests were there. Nice! I ordered the beef cheeseburger and Joe got the lamb burger. They served them with a knife right in the middle, super cool! The salad blew me away. First, it looked just beautiful and so fresh, the blueberries tasted like they just picked them in the garden, Yummy! I didn't even use much dressing because it tasted incredible just the gorgeous way it was served. The gal that was waiting on us was really sweet and helpful with news about the town and the art community. Oh and if you wanted beer or wine they allow you to go next door and bring it back. Joe went over to get a beer but the surcharge was outrageous to bring it over so he passed. The lemonade was epic as it's my favorite drinky. Definitely go to this amazing place. Loved and loved.

This place was magical. very friendly atmosphere and incredibly delicious food. For myself, I took a veggie burger, it tasted exceptional, eating it brought me a lot of joy) Now I know where to go to eat in Mammoth Lakes, for this I want to say a special thank you to Tina! Dish Bistro highest recommendation!!!

This place was deceptively good. They have a limited menu, but everything is made with love. I know, I know that sounds cheesy, but you have to try it to know what I'm talking about. Both the pesto chicken sandwich and bison burger were amazing. They were made with fresh ingredients and perfectly seasoned. The bison burger was freshly ground with just the right amount of condiments on an amazing bun, served with a very fresh salad. Service was friendly and casual and we were told we could buy beer from the brewery next-door and bring it over. Yes!!!

27 Mar 2021 Wonderful local business churning out food with love. Quaint mountain space doesn't look like much from the outside, but this place is full of charm. Will be returning on future visits. By the numbers: Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 4/5 Value 5/5 Breakfast sandwich - Excellent. Medium egg, bacon, and melted cheese on a croissant roll is savory and hits the spot. Fresh side salad with vinaigrette and twice baked potatoes top it off.

Chef Tina makes excellent food with clear love for what she's doing. Pretty much everything is made from scratch and with top notch ingredients. The bison bacon burger is great...and the fries are to die for! Save room for the bread pudding with a bourbon ice cream!

5 Stars for a Reason! First off, the bacon bison burger is the best burger I've ever had. We sat next to a regular and he agreed. The mushroom ravioli was perfect for mushroom lovers + freshly grated Parmesan! We also had the spicy pork belly bites as an appetizer and those were to die for!! (Especially for heat lovers). 10/10 recommend anytime u find yourself in mammoth!

We found our go to dinner place in Mammoth Lakes. The food is cooked fresh by Chef Tina who is one of the best Chefs I've had the privilege to meet, besides my guy. The restaurant has limited seating so Chef Tina and staff are able to offer you the best intimate experience in service, food, and all around ambience. You feel special in this place and everyone is so friendly. One great thing Chef Tina did for us was to hold the restaurant kitchen open on our first night there so we could eat. We didn't know things closed so early and she was and is just the nicest person. She told us she was taught to never turn down a hungry guest and we were for sure hungry. The food was so delicious, we made sure to go back out last night in town so we could end everything well. I will tell you the cook in the food was consistently delicious. We were and are so happy to have a special place in Mammoth for a nice dinner.

Unfortunately, I've seen this at other places too, just over how ridiculous tipping has become and will avoid these places in the future. Sorry for the rant. Anyway, I was giving 3 stars initially and then the food came out. Both my buddy and I got the hot chicken sandwich, which I had here over a year ago and was good. This time it was over cooked and dry. So dry it was hard to swallow even with slaw in it. The waffle fries were stale, and both the sandwiches and fries were room temperature even though it came out within minutes of ordering. I appreciate fast food delivery, but this seemed like a it was just reheated. The server was friendly and came back and checked in us, so that was good, but we'll be going back to our regular brewery in the future.

This is unsafe and unacceptable, especially for children's food. The steak was ordered medium well, but was served well done -- completely overcooked. The chimichurri sauce was also misleading: instead of the classic green sauce, a red mixture was served that had nothing to do with it. The coleslaw was simply awful. Additionally, the staff showed no proper response -- we were not offered a replacement, a discount, or even a proper apology. This reflects a complete disregard for service standards and customer care. In its current state, this does not meet even basic restaurant standards.

Expecting customers to tip before they have evaluated the service or even laid eyes on their food is a highly objectionable business practice. This policy is especially frustrating when the subsequent service and food quality fail to justify that forced investment. As out-of-town visitors, we found the pub completely unaccommodating. There were zero instructions on how to order, making it feel exclusively geared toward locals who already know the routine. We had to flag down a staff member wiping tables outside just to learn we needed to scan a QR code. The service we received after being forced to tip was incredibly disappointing. Our beet salad arrived first, but the runner dropped it off and vanished so quickly that we couldn't ask for a second silverware setting. Since we intended to share the salad, we had to wait. The salmon plate didn't arrive until roughly 15 minutes later. When we finally managed to ask our waiter for the extra silverware, he treated a basic hospitality request as a major inconvenience. Getting a simple fork felt like pulling teeth. The value for the price is simply not there. The grilled salmon plate was remarkably small--well under three ounces of fish. To make matters worse, the accompanying vegetables consisted of literally three skinny asparagus spears and two even thinner carrots. Between the aggressive upfront tipping, the small portion fish size, and the dismissive attitude of the staff, this establishment has massive room for improvement. I am leaving a two-star rating in hopes that management will reconsider their ordering system and address these glaring service deficiencies.

We were very hesitant to try the Asian sticky ribs but it actually ended up being really good. I can't remember what the vegetable dish (4th pic) was called but it was also very good if you got a bite with everything in it. It had sweet potato, beet, candied walnuts and pomegranate seeds! We also ordered some drinks. The curry drink (forgot the name) was surprisingly good despite the odd list of ingredients that went in. Their local black cherry soda was also very nice. CHECK THEIR WEBSITE…read more - Make a reservation ahead of time - Don't bring kids The website prominently advertises that this is an ADULTS ONLY restaurant. It also indicates how to make a RESERVATION, which is highy recommended as this restaurant can get fully booked all night long. Yelp no longer has the "Takes Reservations" indicator, so you wouldn't know unless you visit their website. We unfortunately did not know either information when we decided to eat here, which ended up in a rather disappointing result when we walked in and were turned away from both getting a table the night we walked in right when the restaurant opened, and also from booking a reservation for any future night while we were there. The food looked and smelled good. Maybe we'll be back in 15+ years. NOTE: I initially gave a 3 star review as I view that as a neutral response, but I suppose that may have unfairly dragged down the rating of the restaurant given the few number of reviews on yelp. I do stand by a 4 star review, as I do think it the responsibility of the restaurant to clearly convey their prominent policies. While I do appreciate that the no child policy is prominently displayed on their website, visiting a url before walking into a building is not a common practice. If the restaurant can take the time to post social media photos of their food and logo on yelp, they can also post their prominent restaurant policies. Clear communication is important. We have been to more than a few 18+ venues where no children are allowed (restaurants, bars, rated R movies, speakeasies, comedy clubs), and this policy was clearly communicated at those other venues (e.g., via advertising, via a sign at the front of the venue, via their business card). But, at Ursa, this policy was not made clear to us until after we spoke to the host for a good 10 minutes after entering the restaurant. In her defense, she was apologetically trying to make our night better by suggesting many other alternative restaurants where we could go. But we were not looking for alternative restaurants which were, in our opinion, starkly different restaurants which were not comparable to Ursa. Ursa is unique to the region. We just wanted to know how best to eat at Ursa. Which was--make a reservation ahead of time, don't bring kids.
