I used Clutter as a last minute solution to move out of my SF apartment during COVID-19 and quarantine from home on the east coast. My Clutter movers were extremely professional, they arrived on time, they were polite, they shrink wrapped all of my belongings and properly labeled all items. They were efficient and they also took COVID-19 precautions seriously, wearing masks through the entirety of their work, making me feel comfortable the whole time. They were friendly and polite, and made a typically stressful situation easy, relaxed and carefree for me- the customer. I will definitely use them again! read more

I have no words to describe how horrible my experience with Clutter has been. Starting with the deceit and hidden fees all the way to destroying half of my belongings and furniture, including my TV, my ceramic tables, vases. Almost every item they moved and packed at least had a scratch, and the majority of my high value items were completely destroyed. I signed up with this service thinking I would pay x amount (like they advertise when you sign up), but the day of the move, the fee increased by $500 without an explanation. They claimed that was what was shown the entire time? Lies. Refused to fully reimburse all my damaged belongings, and oh doesn't matter if they destroy your entire household items and everything you ever owned, per their policy, they will never refund more than $2500. Horrible experience, damaged my old apartment during the move-out and my new apartment during the move-in with scratched on the floor, walls and debris everywhere. I wish I read a review like this before spending almost $4000 in moving, packing, and storage fees (FOR ONLY ONE MONTH). This ridiculous amount doesn't even cover all the money I lost from them destroying half of my furniture. Please avoid them like the plague - if you think you're saving money, you will absolutely end up paying at least double the amount in "hidden fees". I have moved a dozen of times before, and even from coast to coast, and have never had a horrible experience like this one. If you care about your money, your belongings, your sanity and mental health do not use this horrible company. read more

Great experience every step of the way, from when I booked the app in Trent through my day of experience. about a week before they asked me to start recording what was being shipped and providing photos, which I found encouraged in their preparation of what will be needed to move. They outlined what the day would look like and asked for any special instructions I had regarding every step of the move. My stuff could not have been in better hands! read more

I ended up paying 4.5x what I was initially quoted over the phone because the agent didn't tell me about the minimum return charge. They offer 2 free mover hours at the outset, which sounds great, but the movers show up (very late) and, for some reason, start packing up everything I've already packed. I don't blame the movers--they are just doing what they are told. However, those free mover hours disappeared in the redundant packing. When you want your stuff back, expect to pay a minimum of $195 (3 mover hours), even if it takes less time. I don't understand why it would take 3 hours--maybe to remove the redundant packaging? I can update this when I find out. EDIT: They didn't remove the packaging, so I'm not sure why it would take 3 hours to move such a small amount of stuff back. However, I got everything back and none of it was broken (much of what I stored was glass). Someone at Clutter.com reached out to me to learn more about my experience and we discussed what was good and what could have been better. We agreed that the agent should have been transparent about the return charge at the outset and we came to a solution that worked for both of us. It turns out they have already addressed the issue about transparency with phone agents since my incident. It was clear from our discussion that Clutter.com cares about the customer experience. I have updated my rating accordingly. read more

We filed two claims, the response we got from Clutter just listed all kinds of company policies but never point out which policies give Clutter the right to accept an order with specific request but deliver something against that request without letting the customer know first and getting their consent! If their reasoning is acceptable, clutter can make delivery on whatever date they deem suitable for them despite that customers list the date they would like to move! More insulting, they offered $40 to settle the issue despite the fact the fined my daughter $200 for something she had no fault and all her belongs are stuck in the storage and her basic needs can not be met! read more

We used clutter for a large one bedroom move across the city. We had an impossible move timeline (our HOA required we start the move after 10 and our parking permit for the new place expired at 2:30). Clutter was amazing and pulled through! So glad we switched movers -- half the time, half the price. David, Angel, and Diego were absolute stars! Highly recommend, will use them again in the future for sure! read more

We had the best experience moving with Jessica and Angelo! They seriously did an amazing job. They were moving and grooving quickly and got our apartment packed and unloaded in 1/2 a day. They brought mattress covers, bubble wrap, blankets, etc. to wrap everything, and handled our furniture more carefully than I usually do lol. They even took apart our bed frame and coffee table and re-assembled it for us in our new spot. All we had to do was give some pointers as to what we wanted moved/packed, and they did the rest on their own. I felt super safe with my belongings in their care. The Clutter interface was great too - super easy to pay and close out on our phones once they were done. Was a bit more expensive than some other local movers, but honestly they did such a stellar job that it was totally worth it. Would highly recommend! read more

Pros: Great idea if they can work out the kinks. Customer service was very responsive and helpful. Goods were returned in the same condition- only had one glass jar break, but it wasn't packaged properly. Website is great and easy to use. Cons: Availability: When I tried to set an appointment to receive my stuff, they didn't have anything available for over a month! Not sure if it's due to lack of movers or what, but ease of getting your stuff back quickly is pretty fundamental to this being an effective service. Customer service was able to find a sooner date but still was later than my moving date. Movers: both times my movers were very nice and had a great attitude, but it seemed like they were all very new to moving and not very professional. Perhaps additional training would help. read more

After the most hectic situations having taken place and suddenly needing to move out of my space, Clutter is literally one of thee most organized life savers ever. Let's start with the reservation process from two days ago where I was informed about how to process would go and what to expect; immediately following a confirmation email of everything that was discussed. Now yesterday, I received follow up emails and text to help ensure that today's process went smoothly. Forward to this morning where I receive a text that allows me to track the men, David + David (I loved that they have the same name), responsible for the amazing job they've done today. I helped organize things so it would be easy and that was it. From there, they wrapped all the precious items, consolidated things to make sure I still had space within my plan and kept checking to make sure I didn't miss anything. I generally hate moving, but if it's gonna be like this all the time- Clutter would be my go to! David and David made an otherwise nerve-wracking day incredibly easy and pleasant! Clutter is amazing! It's a convenient and efficient way of storing your belonging for either short term or long term needs. The crew was incredibly professional and punctual for my appointment. I want to thank the two team leads, Mikeo and Jeremy, and their fantastic crews that helped with my move into storage over a two day period. Both teams carefully packed and labeled my belongings to be stored in a 10 x 37.5 offsite location. Special thanks to Alina in customer service who price matched a similar unit for me, saving me $120 per month. Along with the price match, my total alotted free labor was increased from 17.5 hours to 30 hours total, which was a great help. Mikeo's crew started at 11am and stopped at 5:30pm. I was told that there was a cap on the total labor time a crew can work on a given day. Jeremy's crew started at 7:00am and ended at 10am the next day to finish the job. The only issue I had was the incorrect charge made on my on my card. I was supposed to be billed $230/month for the space for the price match and was charged $351 instead ($100 for the non-refundable deposit and $251 the next day). Clutter's customer team however was quick to correct this oversight and refund me the difference. Unlike other storage facilities, you cannot view your items in person once stored. As Mikeo put it, our storage facility is similar to Fort Knox, with no public access. Everything is scanned and catalogued on the website. As long as you understand and are comfortable with this, I highly recommend Clutter for your moving needs. read more

Very impressed by the level of service provided by Clutter in a recent move. Joe and Lane were extremely professional during the process. Before moving any item from the truck they checked with us to determine exactly where we needed the items placed. They proceeded to work as a team unloading, unpacking and placing my items in the areas requested (and they didn't drop anything which is more than I can say for a much more expensive company I used on a previous move). They also cleaned up their mess as they worked so there was no trash sitting on my floor for extended periods of time. They were very engaging and polite. I started using Clutter about a year ago in the Bay Area and wasn't sure the service would be the same when I moved up to the northwest, I'm happy to say it's still an excellent company to work with, would highly recommend to anyone with additional storage needs. read more

Clutter helped me move out of my apartment today and it was an amazing, stress free experience. The movers are fully equipped with everything they might need. They are very considerate about your belongings and make sure everything willbrought back to you in the same condition. I will update my review after I get my stuff back, but I hope they manage to keep up the 5 star service. Update after return: The process of requesting your items is very easy and the movers were very helpful and professional. We ran into some trouble with the neighbors but the clutter employees handled the situation in a respectful and professional manner. They were friendly and made sure all my stuff was moved in without any problems. I had to remove one star unfortunately because some of my furniture was damaged. I hope I will be compensated for the damage done. read more

First off do not move your stuff to Clutter ever! we first started 4 years ago and everything in the contract got rescinded and their word is garbage. The prices will go up drastically and when its time to live out they lose stuff and the pay 1 dollar per pound of whatever it is they lost. for instance, they lost our dining table and they only gave us $66 because it was 66 pounds. it was worth 1500 dollars. Circling back, we were supposed to get one time per month to move stuff out of storage for free now it is over seven dollars per item. Plus you cannot get into your storage unit if you need anything immediately. It takes over a week to get something out. I have many stories, but mainly their word is void of any truth and don't believe anything they say. read more

We have used Clutter twice in the last three years for packing, moving, & storage. In both instances we didn't have a destination or set date to move in, so it has been a great service. This particular crew was great. They were on time, polite, & worked really well together. They had no problem packing any of our odd shaped furniture or large mirrors. There was no hesitation to pack any of it, and they handled the stairs to our second floor unit. read more

OVER 6 HOURS TO MOVE A 1 BDRM APARTMENT. To give some background. The hourly quote was competitive with local movers (professional licensed businesses). This is my 5th move in 6yrs, so I know my rates and durations. I also have made my life and my belonging more efficient for moves. Not a lot, not super heavy stuff and I have everything pre-packed. The only significant items they would be moving are 5 large pre pack boxes, one sofa, one bed, 2 TVs, 4 cabinets/book shelf's and a standing desk. Basically the same items I've moved with for the past 5 times. It started great they got all the pre-packed items down almost immediately and had wrapped some of the furniture all within the hr. They did have to travel three stories (no elevator) but the time and effort spend there should have been made up with the fact they would be moving .2 miles according to GOOGLE maps (a 4min walk) in fact I walked some of my items over while they were moving stuff to the truck. And then the new apartment was up one flight AND ALSO HAD A ELEVATOR. I went with Clutter cause of the reviews, the movers were pleasant and courteous but over 6hrs. When I moved from Oakland to SF a couple yrs back, i went from moving a house into the three story apartment I just moved from. Took 5:30hrs (including driving 45 mins in traffic and them later having to move the truck 3 times when SF.) and I was their second job of the day. Maybe it's a regional thing. But this experience was expensive and long. And on top of that, customer service was unhelpful and unresponsive. Could not tell me the sizes of the boxes they had, just small or med. I asked if they provided wardrobe boxes they said no. I asked if they provided any boxes they said if I purchase a package they will. Starting at 20 boxes. Which was way more then I needed. So I went to Lowe's and bought 5 large boxes for moving. Guess what they showed up with. Boxes and wardrobe boxes. It didn't really upset me at first since I figured it would have been much easier to hang my clothes especially now since i have to re-iron everything but hey all my personal stuff is packed and ready to go. Save a few bucks. WRONG. This was the first move where I left the movers "unsupervised" ( write it like that cause I should have to supervise pros) cause it was still a work day for me and I wanted something quick and trustworthy. So I went with the high rated vendor and paid a premium and in my opinion, as someone whose moved a total of 11 times (2x internationally) in the last 15 yrs. I got SCREWED. Wrote this lengthy review cause I still cant get ahold of someone there. So maybe they'll see this. read more

Overall, I'm really happy with my experience with Clutter. The fact that they move and store for you makes it really convenient and worry free. Almost like a POD service, which is nice. One caveat that I wish I knew was that when they promoted the 4 hours of free labor--that is split between how many people show up. So if you have 2 movers, it's only 2 hours of free labor. While their storage is cheap, their moving rates are much more expensive--as it's 65 dollars PER mover PER hour. So if you have 3 movers, that can add up! One hiccup I did have was that I changed how much I decided to move/store for my pickup move--and I let them know that it was a lot more than what was originally planned--so they might need to send more movers. But they only sent 2 (when they really should've sent 3)--so the move took forever. Also, I had paid for the unlimited packing material, but they ran out of boxes and supplies, which also slowed us down (but Clutter refunded me some money, so that was nice). Plus, when they move, they need to sticker every box/item, and then take a picture of it, and then scan it. So before they move anything into the truck, there are 3 steps that need to be taken. So that initial move cost me a lot more than anticipated, mostly due to having fewer movers than anticipated, and the extra steps of sticker, photograph, scan for every. single. item. Makes sense once it's all in the system and you can look at the pictures and be like "oohh! That's why I can't find my favorite weights! There it is!" but in that moment of trying to get everything moved out--it can feel cumbersome. Finally, I would say that Clutter has super cheap storage rates--some of the cheapest I've seen. But a drawback is that you can't access or visit the site. Sure-they offer a "free drop off" for any small items you may want back, but sometimes I just wanted a cardigan I packed away. I used clutter to move half of my house out, and for the other half--I ended up having to just rent a local storage space. That's so I could access it on and off while I was living in between homes--since I realized after clutter--that's really what I needed. So make sure you think about that. read more

This company was a nightmare to work with they lie there was constant arguments back-and-forth and make it difficult for you to get your material back and always try to find a way to get more money out of your pocket avoid this company at all costs. There are many better companies out there that are willing to work with you so why would you deal with poor customer service. read more
