Updated Review: After my last review was posted on yelp. Clutter customer service reached out to try and make things right so I could update my review accordingly. I filed a customer service request to get approx 3 hours of labor charge for excessive packing last year however I was only refunded a portion of it. In addition to the excessive labor cost (3+ hours), I was also issued a refund of the difference between a 10x12.5 and a 10x10 since I argued my stuff would have fit into a 10x10 had it been packed reasonably. Over the course of 8 or so months, this equated to $350+ in refunds. In summary, I still wouldn't recommend Clutter's packing service due to the headaches/stress I had to endure initially. Seriously just pack EVERYTHING yourself and don't bother with the risk of using their service. However their customer service has always been very responsive and it's been easy to get someone on the phone compared to other companies. I do think that their monthly storage rates are very competitive. If you are having issues with them, make sure to post them here on yelp so they take action. read more

CLUTTERING THE CUSTOMER Clutter may be trying to get digital imprint but they fail miserably on driving business use case which benefits customer. All business use case I can foresee is Clutter Centric driven . I did use their services and is now stuck with my inventory as hostage in the storage. Tried to reach out through so many communication channel but all in vain. Just listing down my experience as below please take these things into consideration if you wish to get their services. Examples : 1.They promise to send 3 movers for loading and packing but sent only 2. So the charges automatically got increased as time consumed nearly doubled. As they charge you on per hour basis. 2.MOST IMPORTANT : If you are planning to move inventory into their storage and have plan to move inventory for long distance move in near future. Then , your planning have to start with Clutters appointment for inventory release (Either from Warehouse or Delivery as they promise) as you will have to book at least 2 weeks in advance or else your inventory will not get released for long distance move. In nutshell , even you decide to break free from them you will need to cough up storage rent for at least for 2 weeks. So YOUR INVENTORY MOVEMENT PLAN WILL START FROM THEIR PLANNING, NOT YOU AS CUSTOMER. read more

Even though I cancelled my reservation days before pickup with my representative, she did not cancel with her team so they still came for the move. I was charged a $200 fee for same day cancellation even though I was not at fault! No one will help with refunding me! read more

I wasn't looking for a new storage solution but when I received a mailer I decided to see what the quoted cost would be. As soon as I was quoted 30% less than what I pay for my current storage unit, I immediately made a reservation. I'd be at a loss if I didn't make the change. On moving day, Donell and Charles arrived on time and did an extraordinary job wrapping my furniture and cataloging my items. They both were patient as I decided what to store and what to keep with me. Hands down awesome service! Thank you guys' read more

This is one of those company's who bragging about doing all the work for you. They say that they will pack up your items and load them on their truck and take them away to storage, mostly without your work or input. Don't fall for that, you will have to work. The day before my pickup (which was arranged a week or so before hand) I received an email telling me to dissemble the bunk bed. Frankly I was hiring them so I wouldn't have to disassemble the bed. I was willing to pay for them to disassemble the bed. After I disassembled the bed the moving job was easy and the movers were great! Communication not so good, moving excellent. Also, look out for upgrades. They estimate how much space you need in advance, then upgrade you after they leave.... read more

I have only moved a few times in my life, but I was fed up enough the first few times that I decided that this time I'd get some help. Cue Clutter. I was a bit skeptical at first since they were offering free moving/packing with the storage space (I had a few months between places) but reviews looked good, so gave them a shot. Great experience working with them. The team that met me was on time and very professional. They packed my stuff carefully and quick - I was almost completely hands off. Both the packing to storage and the move to my new place went extremely smoothly (despite the third floor move in) and I couldn't have ask for a better team! I highly recommend Clutter and will most definitely be using them the next time I am moving or putting things into storage. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY they caused $1,099.58 of damage while moving my stuff out of my apartment. They beat up walls and even ripped a piece of wood off of the screen which required the whole door to be replaced. Clutter denied any responsibility despite photo evidence and signed documentation from my myself and my landlord. I ended up being out of pocket all the money which my landlord withdrew from my security deposit to pay for repairs. I was really disappointed in how Clutter handled the issue and seemed to have a strategy of delay then deny and dragged out the customer inquiry for months. read more

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. Clutter showed up to my appointment late and without tools - they couldn't take my bed frame apart and had to wait for them to call extra help to come. The team was extremely unprofessional and awful. They also lost my rug and blamed it on my 3rd party moving company.... and then sent me a screenshot of security footage of a rug and items that weren't even mine. I'm not being reimbursed for this which is a huge disappointment because i trusted them with my items. In addition, my roommate also had a poor experience and half of her furniture was broken and missing boxes. Do not use this service - you will be disappointed and they have zero customer service. read more

This is the absolute worst moving experience in my life and I've moved 27 times. They did not inventory my belongings on their portal and lost 10 boxes, which they denied. I filed six claims and the denied all of them even though I provided evidence via photos, videos, links to the missing items - all was denied. Please do not consider clutter a reliable resource for moving - especially if you are eventually considering moving out of state. They do not play nice in the sand box. read more

My Clutter team today was great (pictured above). I wish I could request Yahri and Dave every time I move. They were very careful and considerate of my objects. We had great conversation, they gave me great recommendations for places to eat and places to go in Oakland too. They walked me though how my items would be inventoried and assured me of the security of my items in the clean/surveilled warehouse. Even before they arrived I had great service. Dave called me to let me know they'd arrive early to ensure I'd be ready for their arrival. The text alerts the day of and preceding days were also very helpful in getting me geared up for the move our day. I'm still waiting to see how the billing process goes but the service was top notch thus far. Such kind and friendly customer service. I'm very satisfied and will definitely be recommending clutter to my circle! read more

Update- my credit card information was used to pay for advertising services on Facebook an app I hadn't used in over a year! Someone recently tried to apply for a credit card using an old address that clutter company personal moved things for me from an address I would never ever use. read more

Update: Sept 5 2021 After failing to get a fair offer from the claims department ($68 for a $699 broken new furniture item), I did the thing I hate doing which is posting a public and negative review on Yelp (below) and Twitter. I tried alternatives before sharing publicly, including filing a BBB complaint, but they didn't budge. After I shared, I offered to update the reviews if they reimbursed me fairly, and the marketing & claims teams responded and took my offer. I finally received a full reimbursement today. I'm still frustrated I had to go through this, and you should beware of their shoddy $1/lb policy and claims experience before booking them (also just search tweets about Clutter on Twitter - wish I did this before booking), but I'm updating this to keep my end of the deal. I am relieved I was reimbursed fairly, and despite my frustration I was treated respectfully throughout the process. It seems like turning my claims issue into a PR issue is what finally allowed me to get a fair resolution after weeks of back and forth. ---- Original review: Our brand new console table ($700) was broken by our movers beyond repair. They assured me that the claims team would take care of it, so I still tipped each mover for their hard work especially during covid times. Extremely disappointed when the claims team offered me only $68, or $1/lb, for the $700 item. Asked to escalate, multiple emails and phone call, but they still refuse to increase their offer. Hopeful posting publicly gets a better response and I get reimbursed properly--if so I'll update--but based on my emails and phone call with them I'm not expecting better. read more

My moving experience with clutter was excellent. The three guys (Dave G, Atari and Josue) were on time and professional from start to end. They wrapped up all my items with extreme care and made sure to check in with me throughout the process regarding my remaining space. The move did take a little longer than expected but the precision and care with which they handled everything made it worth it. The men also wore their masks the entire time which made me feel very comfortable. The app and easy communication with the company made it really seamless. I felt very prepared for a quick easy move based on their pre instructions. I feel safe and secure knowing each one of my item was catalogued prior with pictures so it will be easy for my roommate and I to move out later. Nice perk with the $100 Amazon gift card! Will see how the move out goes but feeling positive based on this experience! One of my easiest moves to date so far. read more

I am so disappointed and hurt now when I first use clutter, they were professional they were on time. I was able to look at my items click on it get it returned back to me. This is my third time using them and I see that they change for the worst I moved out my apartment. The best deal was nine months for 177$ a month and now I found apartment for March 1 so I'm trying to make appointment to get my items returned back to me now it has a set up where they charge you for me to get my items back. It range from 700 to 900 never before has this happen. Also when I made my appointment for them to pick up my items they offered me $100 Amazon gift card. They sent me a empty card. I contacted them three times no response no callback today I have sent out a second request about my move. This is ridiculous. I will never ever use them again they are not trustworthy smh read more

clutter is as easy and efficient as it gets! My clutter team was Jordan and Khilaje - they were professional, friendly, and went out of their way to take care of everything, even tasks that I didn't anticipate needing, they just jumped in and did it. Highly recommend, 5 out of 5 experience all around. read more

Beware of this place. On our move out day they showed up with only 2 people (because their supervisor fired one of their coworkers that morning with no notice and no backfill!!) and took 11+ hours to move out a 950 sqft apartment. That ended up setting us back nearly 2 grand all told. Attempts to recoup cost on that were denied. Pretty scummy to send less workers than planned or necessary for a job that you're going to charge by hour for. When we got our items back, many were damaged, and some were even lost. I would never ever *ever* recommend Clutter to anyone. I repeat, DO NOT give this company your business. There are many cheaper and more reliable services out there. If you're looking for a sign this is one, learn from my costly mistake. read more

Jarred, Bryan, and Dorian were fantastic at wrapping, boxing, taping, and taking my belongings away to storage. I gave Clutter a 5-star review for a successful start. 5 weeks later, I was scheduled to receive all of my stuff at my new apartment. The return was a total disaster. 12 items were missing, including 10 boxes and 2 pieces of furniture. Among the items that did show up, 4 were destroyed so badly that I refused them, took photos, and the movers took them away. 1 table was damaged badly. 6 other furniture items were damaged moderately. They told me 2 boxes were found, but then only delivered one of them. The other box is missing again. Now they say 9 of the remaining 11 missing items are found and scheduled to be delivered tomorrow, 12 days late. 2 items are still unaccounted for. Customer service is friendly, but they are seriously telling me I should have bought more than the $1000 insurance I bought from them. They told me yesterday that by our contract, $1000 is the max they can give me. How could I have anticipated this much negligence? $1000 will not replace my damaged and still-missing items. I wish I'd never heard of Clutter. New Update: Now it's been 18 days since my delivery. Two boxes are still missing. Clutter still says $1000 is the max they can give me for 4 destroyed items, 7 damaged items, 10 late items, and 2 lost items. read more

Stay away!! Broke and damaged multiple items. Interaction with movers was uncomfortable and felt unsafe. Not only would I never recommend Clutter I will tell everyone I care about to stay away the service and damage was so terrible. I also submitted a claim for the $1,000 of damage they did to my items and they offered me $40. SHAMEFUL. Issue - comically mangled boxes and damaged items Just look at the pictures of the boxes they delivered back to me to get an idea of how they treat your items. I packed some of my items very carefully and the Clutter pickup guys packed the rest. Both the boxes I packed and the boxes Clutter packed had damaged and broken items. I didn't have the foresight to take pictures of all my shattered glasses and plates but I've included photos of some of the items. Issue - intimidating delivery guys, demanded cash and that I go to the bank to get it for them. The app tells you to tip through the app so when the delivery guys finished delivering my boxes I thanked them for their hard work and told them I'd tip them through the app. They got mad and me and told me to give them cash. I told them I didn't have enough cash for a good tip (I never have cash) and they told me to go find a bank or a store and get them cash and they would wait at my place. It was honestly scary to be alone in an apartment with two giant agitated men demanding cash from me. We'd had a great rapport until then -- I got them coffee and water and made them snacks, but when I told them I'd tip them through the app (which Clutter TELLS you to do), it was a very different story. My experience of them picking up my items was great, but the way they treated my items when they were in their care, and the horrible delivery experience and intimidation were unacceptable. I can't believe this place is still in business. read more
