This sounded too good to be true but it actually is not! It is just a fantastic company and service. I read some negative reviews which made me suspicious - all I can say is my experience has been nothing but an A+! Communication was top-notch, it was super easy to set up, the pricing was honest and there were no hidden charges because believe me I was looking for them! The drivers were respectful and lovely and the whole thing was just seamless start to finish. Most of the things I needed I could do online easily, did a few chats to clarify a few things, and even had a phone call with someone from their company so one of these reviews says it's impossible to find a human but I didn't have that experience. I had them pick up about 14 bags of clothing, it was extremely affordable, and really easy to schedule them to deliver them back when I returned. I will for sure use them again and recommend them to anyone. read more

On July 28, 2026, Clutter took possession of my household goods in good condition for pickup and subsequent storage at the Clutter storage facility. The items were later delivered to my new residence on August 4, 2026. At the time of pickup, all items -- including dishware, bedding, and clothing -- were in sound, undamaged condition. Upon delivery on August 4, 2026, I discovered the following damage: 1. Ten (10) plates and bowls were broken and destroyed during Clutter's handling, storage, or transport. 2. Two sealed storage bags were found soaked through with water, to the extent that their contents appeared to have been submerged. The affected contents -- a comforter, a pillow, and multiple articles of clothing -- were saturated and have since developed significant mold growth, rendering them unsafe and unusable. This water intrusion and resulting mold contamination could only have occurred while the items were in Clutter's custody, either during storage at the Tier facility or in transit. The presence of mold raises additional health and safety concerns, as mold-contaminated bedding and clothing cannot be safely cleaned or salvaged and must be replaced entirely. read more

I've had great experiences with Clutter, with two pickups and two dropoffs as we relocated. The movers were very professional, and (important in NYC) very capably handled tough situations of maneuvering their truck through crowded streets. They worked fast, especially on the dropoffs. The two free pickups and two free dropoffs with 4 months of storage were an excellent deal. We have kept some of our boxes in storage for longer than we expected, and the fees have been very fair -- Clutter automatically reduces the monthly charge as items get moved out; you pay only for the storage you're actually using. I suspect a lot of moving and storage companies get negative reviews because many customers post writeups when things go wrong (I get it! I've done that too!) And I don't doubt that there can be problems. But my experience was 100% positive. read more

DO NOT USE CLUTTER. ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE, impossible to get someone on the phone besides their customer service outsourced team (maybe in India?) who have zero decision making. I've opened 2 claims with them. They moved me on August 26 and at 4pm the movers said they couldn't keep going due to overtime. They also said because I had more stuff I would need a 10x10 instead of a 10x5. Whatever. As long as it got done. They said they would be back THE NEXT DAY...an issue with my coop because they allow you a specific day for a move. Then I get a Clutter text that they will come Sept 8 to finish the move! I tried to contact anyone to help for 24hrs and had no luck. Ended up contracting another company to come and remove the items (2 mattresses and a dresser) that were supposed to make it to Clutter and ended up trashing them because I needed to move out. Clutter rescheduled me for Aug 28 (two days after the move) and when I cancelled that (they had not asked if I could do that day - my building would not allow it). The customer service person said there would be a cancellation fee for cancelling (that appt I had not booked) and charged me $100. The customer service reps tell you to open a claim - so I did that. I asked for $ for my items that I trashed and the other movers that took the trash. Or a reduction in the monthly charges (I'm signed up for 8 months). You know what they did? They reimbursed me the cancellation fee. $100 for the appointment I did not make. I opened another claim asking at least for a reduction or some good faith action. Or to speak with their team because if they keep getting bad reviews I can't imagine it's good for business. They closed the claim. Said they didn't have any liability in all this and basically "too bad". It was an automated response. Be very wary of Clutter. Do not use clutter. I used clutter to move and store my apt for 1 month and move me back into the new one. Every part of the process was bad. The movers arrived very late on the pick up and very early on the drop off. They lost the hardware for my dining table completely, and severely damaged my entertainment center. They only wanted to give me a small refund for the table despite it now being useless, and despite that I paid for extra insurance coverage. Their packing is extremely inconsistent. some things were packed carefully, while others were just thrown together with no packaging (see photos below). They also failed to photograph about 1/2 of the boxes before they packed them, making the "smart storage" useless. It was a much cheaper option, but you really get what you pay for. read more

Despite initially confirming that items shipped from Florida would be integrated into my Seattle account, they later sequestered new items in Florida without notifying me that they would be trapped in a separate regional silo. Now that I am in New Jersey, Clutter refuses to consolidate or deliver my property, citing "service area" restrictions. The most absurd part of this ordeal was support suggesting I fly to Florida to meet a truck in a "Walmart parking lot" to retrieve my own items. I have had storage of my late mothers oil paintings since 2012. She was trained at the NY Academy of Fine Arts in Manhattan and had won awards for her works in shows. Three weeks ago we brought them home only to find them stacked against each other and stuck together, and about 15 of them are missing. We are still attempting to figure this out. Maybe more. It is completely heart-breaking to me as I thought her work was being honored in a safe facility. In addition, Clutter removed labels from each of the boxes so that it was necessary to summons all the works in order to organize them or even get to one of them. Wow - what an awful experience. One time movers delivered some boxes and took a huge gash out of my entrance hallway. "Sorry!" Much worse was the condition of my boxes when I closed my account last week. They somehow lost a massive wardrobe box containing my entire hanging closet and other items -- about $15,000 worth of clothes. Because I packed it myself and didn't have their extra insurance (which I now highly recommend getting), they initially offered me $50. After weeks of back-and-forth and even providing receipts for a few of the items, their final offer was $1,000. They also refused to give any discount on my ongoing storage or even a complimentary pickup/delivery so I could verify that the rest of my items were still there. That was just the worst part. Before that: * They told me a week before my move that my pickup had to be split over two days, with the second scheduled days after I had to vacate my apartment! * Two of the three movers were brand new -- one only a month in, the other on his first day -- and had no idea what they were doing. * Their customer service often promises follow-up by email and never does. We had to prepare our home to go up for sale by clearing out excess items throughout the house. The Clutter team was amazing in carefully packing items, inventorying each individual item on an app, storing the items for four months, and bringing them back to the house when it was time to move. They wrapped fragile items carefully and unwrapped them upon return. The value for selling our home quickly more than offset the price of Clutter. I would use Clutter again in a heartbeat. read more

This entire ordeal was NOT at all up to what I believed to be the Clutter standard, based on my prior excellent experience. Thing one: When I asked for the new appointment for this major storage booking, I dutifully filled out the inventory with everything to be included. When the first team arrived on 9/29, they were floored, absolutely gobsmacked at what was required. They didn't explain that to me, until they were leaving -- and without finishing, since 'the company wants us to leave by 4:30 p.m. They promised to leave detailed instructions about what remained. THEN, I couldn't get another appointment for two more days. THEN, the next team (different) team around and were again gobsmacked by the work. They taped and taped and finally realized they couldn't take the wrought iron bed apart -- and that I needed to provide a vice-grip. If they had told me earlier, I would have had one Door-Dashed to me, but they left that piece of news until the end of the day -- promising there would be NO CHARGE for their return, but leaving more than the bed to deal with the next day. THEN, the THIRD DAY, they arrived late, stayed long and finally finished the job. Putting me in the position of remaining in the apartment well pass the day I had promised to leave -- and with a bill of roughly $2K, well beyond what the estimate had been, based on the inventory I had provided before the first appointment. This was a horrible experience. I will not recommend you nor will I ever use you again, except to deliver the goods to our new address when the time is right. This was a despicable experience. It has been almost two months where I have been unable to access ANY of my property, even when I beg them to let me pick up myself. If you even want a chance at getting your stuff, you have to join a waitlist. No matter how many waitlists I have been added to, every time my appointment is cancelled. They do not have enough staff or care about customers to even own and operate like a proper company. This is my STUFF and I truly am in the dark about how I can ever get it back. I am spending $159 per month for this company to retain all access to my property. I cannot access anything and have been almost in tears many times. It doesn't even deserve one star. I've used Clutter's multiple pickup /drop-off service, and I want to be very clear: every single mover I've worked with has been exceptional. They are professional, efficient, mostly careful with belongings, and consistently helpful. If I could hire the movers themselves, I would; they are the strongest part of this company. Unfortunately, the claims/ and most customer service experience is the complete opposite, and it has reached a point where I would hesitate to use Clutter again. My original (close-out) appointment was cancelled because Clutter attempted a second authorization on my card without notifying me despite the fact that all fees had already been paid. I keep my cards locked due to past fraud, so the lack of communication directly caused the cancellation. When I contacted the claims department, the responses I received were unprofessional, templated, and dismissive. Instead of acknowledging this, the representative by the name of Dayane responded with, "I'm sorry that you felt the need to..." - a phrase that is inappropriate, unprofessional, and shifts blame onto the customer rather than addressing the company's actions. To make matters worse, when the issue was escalated, the next representative, used the phrase "from your perspective." As someone who has worked in customer service for most of my career, I know the difference between neutral language and dismissive, liability‑shielding language. Phrases like "your perspective" or "you felt the need to" are not neutral - they minimize the actual issue and place the burden back on the customer. This is not how I was trained to speak to customers, even in difficult situations, and it's concerning to see it used repeatedly as part of their standard script. To be fair, Karoll did offer to schedule a call, and I appreciated the willingness to follow up. But the fact that it took escalation to receive a basic level of professionalism only highlights the inconsistency and lack of training within the claims/customer service team. Damir and Ted were great! The problem was when the company gave them the incorrect instructions as it related to my move. They were contracted to move all of my things. Due to the fact that I was moving completely out of the complex. They gave instructions to only move 9 items. Meanwhile, it's the end of the month and my lease is up and I have to be moved out completely. I was extremely upset because the representative on the other end of the line could not assure me that I would be able to have all my things moved that day. I hired clutter to move my large apartment to storage, The first day they were slow and didn't listen to my instructions, but it was basically fine (other than the fact that the Truck they sent had less than half the capacity required for the storage unit I had purchased). The second day they sent a completely different team (much to my surprise). This team saw one cockroach and stopped working. I would emphasize that my place was reasonably clean, with the biggest messes being the result of the ongoing move and nothing remotely unusual. Absolutely nobody ever reached out to me. I tried to talk to the movers and they avoided me (out of fear that I would tell their boss?). Then I got a text message telling me that they were cancelling the move. Countless attempts to speak with a human with decision making power were unsuccessful. I had a great full-service pack-up and move-out experience--and stored my belongings for 5 months. Professional moving team, objects were handled with care and packed safely, for the most part. However, on move-in/return of my possessions, things did not go so smoothly. Not the team of movers' fault, as far as I could tell, but my TV either never made it into storage or never made it off the truck... it was marked 'returned' along with everything else but not among the deliveries. From a simple online application to their step by step moving day guides, switching over companies was smooth. My movers were Travis and Josh - not only did they arrive earlier, they were friendly, quick and efficient. These two eased my nerves and had me moved out in less than 15 minutes. They make promise they cannot keep. I have a deeply frustrating and unacceptable experience with Clutter that remains unresolved. My delivery was completed incompletely. Critical parts of a couch were missing and were never delivered. This was not a minor issue -- the furniture is unusable without these parts. Despite this, Clutter marked the job as completed and has continued to send me automated surveys asking me to rate the service as finished. To be absolutely clear: the job was not completed. I followed Clutter's instructions exactly and submitted a formal claim. Despite clear evidence that items were missing, I was told that "Clutter is not at fault," without any confirmation that the storage unit was physically checked to verify whether the missing items were still there. This is the central issue, and it has never been answered. Customer service has been extremely slow and inconsistent. What is most disappointing is the lack of accountability. Clutter acknowledges that claims must go through Trust & Safety, yet Trust & Safety appears to have made a decision without confirming whether the missing items were actually delivered or remain in storage. This leaves the customer stuck in limbo while Clutter closes the case and takes no responsibility. If the missing items are still in storage, they should be delivered immediately and at no cost, as this situation is the result of Clutter's mismanagement. I had Clutter.com scheduled 5 weeks prior to my move, they made me confirm 24 hours in advance, and charged a deposit to my credit card. 9 hours before my move they rescheduled it four days later. I moved from California to NYC, paid a move in fee for Monday, had to get insurance for Clutter.com, and had to rent a truck and do the move myself. They cancelled due to "operational constraints" and when I called they said they cancel 4-5 moves per day. This means the business oversells their capacity and then fail to meet operational requirements. Lastly, when I called customer service, I was told I would be getting reimbursed for losses and I have filed two claims and the only response I got was DENIED. And, lastly when I looked at Clutter.com investor set - no surprise they are funded by SoftBank. A notorious investor in tech-first, not customer-first technology. When I was making an appt to move to MA they said they do not service MA and they said I wasn't allowed to pick up with a 3rd party mover. My stuff is still in storage. The only option is to get another storage unit for a month- fly to Pittsburgh to make sure it's ok and then have another moving company come- Which is inconvenient and expensive. The Worst Moving Company I hired them to move a few items out of a home that was under contract and due to close in 4 days. They sent two movers, 1 dolly with a flat tire and no tools. Their movers ask me to use the tools that I had at my house. It took them 1 hour to get my couch out and I had to talk to them through getting it through the doorway. By the time they were done they damaged the door so much I had to replace it, and the couch fell over as soon as they got it outside. Second, they wrapped my ottoman, stood it up on its side and it fell through the wall leaving a large hole. In the upstairs bedroom they scratched the bottom of the baseboard and left an entire dresser in the room. They were willing to pick it up if I paid for it. I had to pay a different company to get it because they refused to come back before my closing. These were movers from hell, and I ended up getting a storage space a Public Storage for them not to move anything into my new home. They moved my items into a storage unit, and I am paying a different moving company to move my items. Finally, they offered me less than 800.00 to pay for all my damages. They charged me for going over the time, when their people did not come prepared nor equipped to do the move. My advice, use a different company. read more
