It is small, but don't let that deter you. It was a find and the food is delicious. The service is good. we ordered a couple of items to take home. I ordered the salt and pepper fish which was filet of sole that looked like nuggets, accompanied by fired rice and a cup of egg flower soup. The other dish we had was garlic shrimp again with fried rice and soup. We will definitely be back.

I tried again yesterday. Ordered the lightly breaded pork chop lunch special. The pork was so tough I could not chew it. I ordered fried rice and got noodles. The shrimp were like rubber, it was loaded with green peppers (which Ive never seen in a shrimp with lobster sauce dis), the gravy was like tasteless water, and ther there was NO traditional lobster sauce Bo is not a chef and his dishes are subpar. I ordered egg food young a few months ago....the outside was burned, the inside was uncooked, and it hadno flavor. I hate to say it, but you should avoid this restaurant. Ive given up on this place. The clear sauce with the seafood is so tasty . We got free appetizers ( vegetable egg roll and fried wonton in sweet and sour sauce ) . Inside the dish were also cooked bok choy, carrot , mushrooms , slices of water chestnut, green onion in a ginger flavor gravy . It tasted great with either rice or or brown rice . Service was great . Lady waiter came by often to check on us and added more ice water . The restaurant is clean and the lady deep cleaned the table after the customers left . Restroom is also clean with pleasant air freshener. I appreciate the ambiance very much . It is classic and elegant. It s a great place to meet up with friends and have a chat. On the weekends, they have a special Chinese breakfast menu, offering items such as sweet or savory soy bean milk, fan tuan (rice rolls), green onion pancakes, etc. If this is your first time here, I recommend trying a few dishes from the Chef's Recommendations. We had the bean curd sheet with pork and jalepeno, shrimp with mountain yams and woodears, and the fish gluten tofu soup. The portions were very generous here, so much so that our family of 4 couldn't finish several of our dishes, but we get to pack out and enjoy them at home.

A nice little spot that took over what was previously a Taiwanese cafe style restaurant from some…read moreyears back. CA Noodle is as advertised, they are a beef noodle soup focused spot. The menu itself isn't extensive, but mostly just noodle focused based, with some of the variations of what the base and meats are, and of course the cold dishes that typically comes with a beef noodle eating experience. Price wise, it's not cheap, but for beef noodle places there's not too many of those places around, and if they are around they're usually not that great. The place isn't huge, but there are a fair number of tables in there all closeish together. Again, not a large place, so mostly smaller tables, but can certainly be pieced together for larger parties. Service here was good, no issues. Let's talk food! The cold dishes were good. Nothing out of the ordinary, but one thing that is good even though the cost of them are a bit high is that the quantity they give you is at least a decent amount. If you like the cold dishes, you will get plenty with each order. Now to the noodles. We got a chow mein style noodles and then of course the beef noodle soup. The chow mein noodles were not bad, but wasn't out of the ordinary. It was tasty and I would be happy to eat it again. The beef noodle soup was definitely tasty. The noodles here, in both the chow mein and in the noodle soup were nice quality and texture, just the right QQness to them. The beef in the beef noodle soup is where most restaurants tend to struggle with, particularly the chain dumpling places that offers beef noodle soup and when it arrives, they're just the beef slices from the appetizer dish. Not here, these were actual chunks of beef that have been cooked for awhile and actually stewed. They were good and plentiful in this soup. All-in-all, CA Noodles is a good option for some good beef noodles if you're ever in the mood. The place isn't big, so they may get filled pretty quickly depending on the time of day, and the actual day. Worth the visit.

*** Vegetarian Review ***…read more Full disclaimer. I haven't been to the restaurant, but I've tried their vegan potstickers at the Kaiser Vallejo Farmers Market. So, since I wasn't able to find a check in for that market, I had to come here to sing their praises. 6 Vegan Potstickers at the market are $13. I recommend spending the $1 for chili oil. Not sure what they charge at the restaurant for these fried pockets of deliciousness, but I tell you if these taste this good at a farmers market, packaged in a box, and I wait 10 minutes before I find a seat in the hospital cafeteria, and it still tastes this good, the restaurant must be out of this world. The wrapper has a great thickness and offers a sticky and chewy bite. Pan fried still comes out after having these steam in a to go box, so the restaurant would probably make these pan fried babies have even more texture. Comes with a dipping sauce, but combine it with the chili oil if you can handle a little heat and Yes Chef!! I heard they are at the SF Ferry Building Market on Saturday and Walnut Creek Farmers Market on Sunday. Double check those, but finding a great vegan potsticker is not easy.

I've been a regular customer to their Tuesday and Saturday stands here, mostly getting baos and cucumbers. I was surprised that there was no sauce on this as there was enough flavor from the beef to pair well with the noodles. Simple, tasty, and perfect for my lunch. It is a bit pricy for the portion but the quality is there. Plus it's made to order. I'll continue to get the small bites for my friend and will try the other meals down the road.

The fried rice had a nice texture, and I really liked the fresh bok choy. However, it was missing that smoky wok hei, and since it wasn't cooked in a clay pot, there was no crispy scorched rice at the bottom. The boiled pig blood curd was tender, the beef tripe was delicious, and the stewed yellow croaker soup was also very flavorful and satisfying. Service: We sat in a corner and had to wait a little while before a server noticed us. Once attended to, the server was friendly and helpful, and kindly packed our leftovers for us. Ambience: A nice and comfortable space with tables that aren't overcrowded, plus music playing in the background. Overall, definitely one of my favorite Shanghainese restaurants in the Bay Area!

They also serve congee and chang fun / rice noodle rolls as well as Cantonese bbq meats. We shared two dishes: #12 salt and pepper tofu ($8.95) #47 braised egg tofu beef cube ($25.95) Both the tofu and beef were delicious. The tofu was fried perfectly and had the right amount of seasoning. The beef cubes were super tender and I appreciated all the veggies that it came with, in addition to the egg tofu.
