This is a great little hole in the wall brewery. We were randomly in the area and feeling hungry. Came here on a weekend around 2 which was a great time. Not super crowded but few getting a specialty beer. We definitely enjoyed the honey and basil brew. Has an awesome flavor we took home jug! The gentleman before blonde was a nice light beer if you're in the mood for something light. For food we braved the fish and chips and salmon tacos. I'm also so scare of getting seafood in Idaho because I'm always disappointed. I was definitely surprised to say this was not the case here. The beer batter was done great on the fish and chips and the fish had a good fresh flavor. The salmon tacos weren't as good but we're not bad. Just a little too much sauce but otherwise we're good. The pulled pork sliders were bomb! I pretty much cleaned my plate so that says something. I am for sure going to come back for a nice cold beer and maybe grab a growler to go as well! read more

Always on the lookout for a good brewery with gluten free options! Cloud 9 is the perfect spot. They have a great indoor brewery atmosphere with a cute patio for the warm days! There is a great selection on the menu for gluten free, including Mac & Cheese! I've stopped here a few times now and am continually impressed. The most recent stop here was just takeout, but the food was still delicious! GF Mac & Cheese cooked perfectly and hand cut fries. Definitely give this place a try whether gluten free or not! read more

Well I was a little disappointed with my lunch. I feel bad about being negative with this review because this is a brew house and it should be about the beer! When I have come it for beer it was awesome, but this was lunch time and so I wasn't drinking. I ordered the burger and a side kale Caesar salad. While the flavor of the burger was good, as well as the ample amount of blue cheese, the patty itself was cold. It couldn't have been made just then, but rather warmed back up. I was excited about the charred kale as well because I make this at home. The charred flavor overpowered the salad. It tasted no different with the Caesar dressing than without it. Kind of like it had been sitting there absorbing all of the charcoal flavor. Maybe this whole experience was because I ate lunch at 1:30? I will be back because my other experiences have been positive. Plus, I need to drink beer with my meal! read more

A friend and I went her tonight. We got chips and salsa and also I got a root beer. They have some great root beer. They make it themselves. We got chips and salsa pretty quickly. The salsa is really good. Definitely get it. We spent a little time looking at the menu but knew pretty quickly what we both wanted. We waited. And waited. Our waitress walked by us numerous times. Other tables with different waitresses/waiters got their food. We still waited. Homeless people kept going into the restroom and had to be escorted out. We evened up waiting about 20 minutes and weren't even able to get a refill on our waters. We went inside and paid for our chips, salsa and root beer. They definitely charged us. They apologized and said our waitress got busy trying to escort the homeless man out. I don't think that was the exact reason, but it is what it is. This place is normally really good. I went to Cloud 9 tonight and we got two beers and an app. We got the double black IPA and the golden wheat hef. Both beers were solid and the black IPA tasted as if an IPA and a stout had a baby. We got the carnitas and beet street tacos and both were good. I loved the beet taco but it is spicy but delicious. The brewery is in a strip mall but the decor is still nice. We were really excited to try this place after seeing so many delicious looking burgers pictures. It's an odd place to walk in to.... nobody greeted us so we sat ourselves and eventually had to ask somebody if it was okay that we seated ourselves. We both ordered the burger with bacon. I upgraded to the blue cheese bacon fries. I was surprised that our server gave me a "no" when asked if I could add an egg to my burger. I can understand not being able to accommodate however, i was just surprised that it was literally a one word "no", definitely not quality customer interaction. We asked for fry sauce to come out and our server didn't bring it, not a huge deal but, when we asked again our server said they did not have any. I thought his response was odd considering he agreed to bring it with our food. Another person working asked if we needed anything so we asked for fry sauce and this individual brought some right out. Overall, the service was sub par at best. Not a fan of our server. As for the burgers, they were delicious. Very well created. Buns were good, meat was juicy and the sauce was on point. While I am usually a big fan of house cut fries, these ones were dry to me and my wife and I both agreed they just seemed a little off. All in all, the burgers were good but I wouldn't go back just based on the poor service. read more

Fantastic Staff! Small brewery with Lots of beer choices. I loved the salted caramel porter...in fact had two of them. The food was awesome! We started off with the humus that included cucumbers, bell peppers, olive spread, crumbled cheese, and perfectly toasted pita bread. My wife had the Apple Pecan salad that was very fresh and delicious. I had the Mac and Cheese with veggies. Largeservings for everything. WOW! Great ambience and pet friendly so was sold! Tried a flight of beers which were all really great! They have a good variety of beers on draft and the waitress had solid recommendations. Also tried out their house salad with salmon and balsamic vinaigrette which was AMAZING. I ordered a half size which was still pretty big. My husband had the their summer salad (Im not sure what it was called but it had apples with candied pecans and blue cheese plus grilled chicken) and that was also tasty. Overall, a good place to grab a beer and some food. Pros: - Good beer selection - Nice menu - Serve food late - Atmosphere Cons: - Servers tend to gather behind the bar and talk, instead of talking with the customers. - Fries were not the best. After checking into a hotel, I was hungry and didn't feel like eating at the hotel. Discovered there was a brewery nearby that also served food. It was past 8 PM and I wasn't sure if they would still be serving food, but a beer sounded good and I could use a walk. Cloud 9 is situated in a strip mall with nice outdoor seating with heaters going in the cool weather. I sat inside which has a nice bar and some tables along the outside. It was busy, but I found a seat at the bar. Was handed a menu and was brought a glass of water without asking, which was nice. Ordered a Salted Caramel Stout along with the fish and chips. The stout was decent, but I didn't really taste the salted caramel. The fish and chips came out hot and fresh along with what seemed to me homemade ketchup? That was very tasty. The fish was very good as well. The fries seemed overly greasy and seemed to lack flavor. The ketchup did help, but I couldn't finish them. Also tried what they called a Side-Dish Stout which is not one of their regular beers. I really liked this one. Had very good flavor. The desserts are all homemade, so I tried the Flourless Chocolate Torte which is supposed to be velvety-smooth. It was much more crumbly than smooth, but the taste did compliment the stout very well. Throughout my stay, the staff seemed the do the bare minimum to keep customers happy, but they would rather congregate at the corner of the bar and talk amongst themselves. I would have like to have heard more about the brewery and their beer. I probably would have had another beer if they would have been a little more social. I'd probably stop by again if I find myself in that part of town. read more

I try to keep my reviews leaning positive and give recognition where it's due. Stopped into Cloud 9 on Sunday night to get out of the house and grab a drink with my gf. We sat on the south side, with the smaller bar. There are some tvs to watch the game, but it's a cozy spot and not loud. From the start, our server Jessica was very friendly and attentive, even though it looked like she was moving around a bit to take care of stuff in the back and prep silverware. The only tricky part was figuring out what we wanted, but she talked to us about their beer and food options and brought out samples. Just a pleasant experience and you can tell everyone (customers and staff) enjoyed it there. I got the standard burger and it was great. Never returning again. Sat for an hour waiting for food and watching everyone else get served- even people that arrived 30 minutes after we did that ordered the same fish & chips and wrap. They are severely understaffed and poorly managed. Have been coming here for years but now seems like they don't care anymore. There are many other places that care about their customers. So it's in a strip mall to begin with so our expectations weren't much but the place is straight up weird . It's definitely a hippy hangout because it's dirty and sad and The service is not good to the point of just bad . . I understand these people need a job but they are not very good at it at it as it's unclear If they Work for tips . The outdoor seating is filled with greasy tables and broken warmers . Dog hair errwhere and nobody wears a mask inside . The beer is revolting and the wine they serve must be from Rite Aid because it kind of sucks for $9 a pop . Finally tried the double IPA and salted caramel stout. Without sounding like a jerk, hopefully, they weren't my favorite brews by Cloud 9, but they were definitely quaffable. The food still rocks it out and I think the daily specials are getting better (looking, anyway, as I still stick to my tacos and wilted kale caesar salad). New complaint: any time we come after sundown, THERE'S NOT A TABLE TO BE FOUND! This place is just killing it, so we either have to plan ahead or show up during the day (which is great on a Sunday after a run through Anne Morrison or a hike behind Camel's Back Park). We were visiting friends in Boise and decided to stop in. We love to visit craft breweries whenever we are somewhere new. We were drawn by the positive reviews on Yelp. My husband ordered a flight of beer (Oktoberfest selections) and a Salted Carmel Stout. He didn't like any of them. I ordered both the Honey Basil Ale and Lemongrass Ginger Ale. They were both mediocre at best. We were not impressed at all with their beer. For food, we got some sliders, Bacon blue cheese fries, and chicken skewers. The food was pretty good, hence the three stars. Service was alright, not the beat I've had, but not the worst. Result: If we were in Boise again, we would not come here for beer. Save your money and go to the Mother Earth Brewing Co. They do not serve food, but beer is so much better. read more

There were a couple cases of their employees getting covid and most recently, a 3rd as recent as a week ago. This comes from a reliable source. During our visit, not all staff were wearing masks and when we found out about this outbreak (after dining there), we called to speak to the Manager and she was not able to clearly articulate what steps have been taken since her staff were diagnosed. I wish they were transparent...versus let's not mention it and continue business as usual. I came in to this restaurant last week, I've been coming here for years and it's been one of my favorite spots in Boise but I'm afraid I will have to never come here again seeing as they support their employees doing hard drugs. I cannot remember my servers name, but she was tall and skinny and had red hair, when she introduced herself, I could tell something was off, she was acting extremely strange, but I couldn't put my finger on it. as I started paying attention to her throughout my meal, I saw her coming back-and-forth from the bathroom quite often. When she came to our table to ask us if we would like any boxes I looked at her nose and there were white residue underneath it. It's extremely disgusting and disturbing that the server would be OK doing hard drugs, knowing is that a restaurant that serves children, and it's even more disturbing that her employers allow it. First off, just do yourself a favor and not go if you want any food. Beer was great though - caramel stout was delicious! Kale salad tasted like an ash tray. So gross. My fingers still smell like ash from picking it up and wondering what was wrong with it. Bacon on the BLTA was paper thin and hard. Not to mention there was like 1 piece on the whole sandwich. Avocado on BLTA is guacamole, not avocado. Mac and cheese tasted like watered down cheese with grease. Ranch was sour cream sans any ranch seasoning. Fries were great!! That's about it..... Would really have liked being asked by our server how our meal was too. Not once were we asked how things were. Never acknowledged by anyone else either. You felt like the ice queen is supervising it all. We definitely felt like an inconvenience to the staff. Gotta also love when the guy slams the water bucket in the sink and it splashes all over your remaining beer and doesn't say a word. Cool dude - thanks! Atmosphere was stone cold. Temp was freezing and music stunk. Service stunk. Not my top choice to go for a Friday night out on the town. Spend your money elsewhere! read more

Ordinarily I like the intimate atmosphere of cloud nine, but I just walked in for lunch and a cold cervesa. I sat down at the corner of their mostly empty bar top--in a mostly empty bar. After 15 minutes I walked out, completely unacknowledged. This was at 1:45 on 10/20/18 if management would like to check who was working (or not working As the case my be) To illustrate how crappy the service was, the female server refilled the water of the two patrons sitting one stool away from me. She never looked my way. The male server walked past me 3-4 times consistently avoiding eye contact with me, then ultimately leaned his ass against the bar back and crossed his arms at the other end of the bar. I had an early lunch with two friends at Cloud 9 and had the special which was a delicious salmon sandwich on focaccia and the black bean and quinoa salad side. The food here is always amazing, so this review is about the Beer & Chocolate Flight which we shared for dessert. I highly recommend ordering this fun fantasy flight. My favorite was the Russian Imperial Stout and the White Chocolate Lemon, Lavender & Almond Bark, even though they were not paired together and, surprisingly, I'm usually not a fan of white chocolate. Our waiter was great. He greeted us when we arrived, was knowledgeable about the special, and gave a lovely recitation of the Beer and Chocolate Flight pairings, and even squeezed in a few extra pieces of his favorite chocolate on the plate. I used to always order the Salted Caramel Stout but I think my new standby favorite is now the Russian Imperial Stout. It was so full-bodied, smooth, and rich. This was such a hidden gem. They do flights, and are very laid back about their menu (you can get any number in a flight, or just taste one or two. They also combine taco types in their appetizer - the tempeh was amazing, and perfectly spicy). The beer was good, (try the grapefruit) but more importantly the food was amazing and the service even better. I brought my dog and sat on the patio, and several staff members asked to pet her and spoiled her with treats and a water bowl. They accommodated my dietary restrictions with ease, and the vegetarian version of the caprese was SO GOOD. So was the pecan salad. We went out on the town with our waiter after he got off because he was just that cool. Get Tyler if you can! What an excellent experience. 10/10. read more

We had never been before and it is a nano brewery, upon arrival you are in a strip mall, which at first throws you off a little bit, but once you are inside you are in this neat little brewery. I had the Honey Basil brew, and loved it. I also ordered the seared Kale with Chicken Added and it was delicious. My husband had a burger and fries, and their steamed beer. He enjoyed all of his meal. The service was nice and friendly as well. We will be going again. The only thing I would note that it is a great for an intimate meal with friends, but if you are looking for a space for a large group this is not the place. read more

Visually, this spot is great. Somewhat industrial with the metal worked tap handles, chairs, and concrete bar top. Chalkboard menu was slick and the brewing equipment visible from the dining area. I support any place that brews there own beer too. Though I didn't eat there, the menu items sounded delicious and inventive. So why two stars? The beer just didn't sit with me very well. I had their American IPA first and it had a strange after taste I couldn't put my finger on. I thought that maybe I got a weird glass or something, so I tried their double black IPA next. It was much better, but still slightly off. I love supporting local beers and I wanted to like this place a lot. I'm the type to always get back up on the horse, so if I'm in the area again, I would at least give them another shot, but as it stands now, I wasn't blown away like I was hoping to be. read more

I think the tacos were a little unexciting for me, but loved the grill on the kale in my salad - definitely something I want to try at home. Waitress tried to convince me to try a few other beers from their menu and I thought they were really unique.
