Back of the ~$1800 door, which I was instructed to cover myself with contact paper off Amazon
    Heather H.

I'd like to start by saying that the people at Closet Factory (CF) are generally nice, and I appreciate everyone who came out to the house. Special shout-outs to Alicia, my designer, and Ben, who did most of the installation and fixes. They were both wonderful. The rest of the process was awful. The contract itself was a major red flag. It felt like whoever wrote the contract was afraid that I was going to take advantage of CF, and there were a number of surprises. One was a line-item you have to initial accepting that your finished design may have visible L-brackets. That isn't something their competitors do, and it's not something they show you during the sales process or that you can go see in their showroom. They also can't tell you whether or not your design will require them until you've paid the downpayment and they've sent the design off to their engineers. If that's a deal-breaker, you'll need to beg them to rush it through because normally it takes more than the 3 days you have to get out of your contract. Next up was the payment schedule. Other brands do 50% down, 50% upon completion. CF does 50% down, 40% the morning they come out to start the install, and just 10% upon completion. That means that you've paid 90% before they even start work. If you're not happy with the end result, it doesn't give you a lot of leverage. After that, my project turned into a multi-step install that took over a year to complete. There were numerous surprises and setbacks, as well as a general lack of communication from CF along the way. They typically responded to emails, but I was consistently the one who had to email to ask where we were, when they were coming out next, etc. Since this review is so long, I'm just going to hit the main points. For the tear-out of my existing closet, I had planned to have CF do it and to use the painter they recommended to patch/paint the walls. (CF won't do that.) It's an extra $150 for them to come out on separate days: once to do the tear-out, once to do the install. When I contacted the painter CF recommended, they told me they charge more if they aren't the ones to do tear-out. So I asked the painter to do tear-out, patch, and paint. I told CF I wouldn't need that service after all and asked them to remove it from the quote/bill. It turns out they never included it in the quote, so if they had done it, I would've owed additional money that wasn't in the original quote. At that time, CF was having supply chain issues. They moved their install date repeatedly, which meant I had to move the tear-out date repeatedly (and thus move my work schedule repeatedly). CF apologized and gave me a "discount" that amounted to about half a percent. Yes. Half a percent. The equivalent of getting a nickel off a $100 bill. If anything, that made me more frustrated because it felt like they didn't understand what a massive hassle all of the scheduling and logistics were. When the doors came in, it turned out CF had ordered the wrong style from their manufacturer. I wanted mitered corners; they mistakenly ordered shaker. As a solution, CF offered to charge me more money to let me keep them. Apparently shaker is an upgrade, so if I wanted to pay more, I could keep the "upgrade" instead of getting what I wanted. I declined. For the closet, the biggest issue was a mirrored door. I had requested a full-length mirror. CF offered to do an 80" mirror, which sounded great. Wrong. There's only one manufacturer that makes them in that finish, and that manufacturer isn't great at making them and shipping them safely. In the end, the mirror arrived safely and was installed crooked, with a warp, and with no backing. It turns out mirrors that tall tend to bend, so there was a body-widening warp just around the middle of the mirror, which is just what everyone wants, right? It was also noticeably not level when installed. Apparently they did some finagling with the hinge placement to accommodate the drawers they designed, and maybe there wasn't enough support in the right places. The manufacturer also didn't put any backing on the mirror, so the reflective surface was left exposed. That made it really vulnerable to scratches and impact. After another month, CF backed the mirror with a sticky white film. They'd warned me it would be ugly, but they said they could see about covering it with something to make it look nice. They didn't. I asked twice more about having them cover it that it looks better, but they literally told me to get contact paper off Amazon and cover it myself. If I recall correctly, they charged me about $1800 for the mirror. So that's an $1800 mirror that I have to DIY if I want it to look nice. It's also still not level/square with the rest of the closet, and there's nothing they can do about that. I know CF did the best they could, but in the end, it was a bad experience, and I'm not happy with the final result. I hope this review is useful to other customers.

    Almost finish

The finish product is awesome . The president of the company assisted me through the whole process. Each installer that was sent out was focused on the job, cleaned up behind themeselves each visit. They allowed me to inspect their work each visit. The payment process was a little scary .. but TRUST THE PROCESS. Thank you closet factory for the the work in my prayer room. I was deciding between inspired closets, closet by design, and closet factory. I do not regret my decision! From start to finish they'll earn your business!

A different view of the master closet

We used closet factory to build closets for four bedrooms and in our garage. The entire experience was wonderful and executed to perfection. From our designer Allison to our spectacular installers Brad and Nestor to the admin staff who helped manage installation schedules, everyone did an outstanding job. We could not not be more pleased with the product. I was concerned because we were not even in Texas when the job was completed but they took care of every detail. I would recommend CF, Allison and Brad/ Nestor very highly to anyone who is considering closets in their house.

    Maximizing capacity in every way.

We had the occasion to hire Closet Factory to redesign the closet in our master bedroom, as we were doing a major remodel of our master bath and closet space. I put my custom closet project out to bid to three vendors here in town and ended up choosing Closet Factory for several reasons: 1) They did the best job listening to my needs and created the best plan of the three vendors. 2) They offered a reasonable price. 3) The quality of their product is excellent. Now that they have nearly completed the project and I can see the results, I'm so happy that I chose to work with them. From start to finish, they were extremely responsive to our needs, offered great solutions and advice, and were 100% service oriented. They offered extensive advice on how to maximize my space, which was smaller than we had prior to our remodel (as some of the closet space was taken to make room for the walk-in shower). The process for finalizing the closet design was great - as I worked in real time with Jason (via Zoom) to make the final tweaks and adjustments to fit our needs. Their entire staff is very professional, friendly and great to work with. My closet looks fantastic and I can't wait to move my things back in to this new space. I highly recommend this company.

I can't be more happy with the results of my new amazing closet! Jason made a fantastic design and Dave a great installation! I highly recommended their services if you want to upgrade any space in your house! THANK YOU for making the closet I've always wanted, you exceeded my expectations

I was just told that they do not install kitchen cabinets. Yet it is listed in the services they provide.

From start to finish, the team provided excellent service and maintained a high level of professionalism throughout the entire project. One of the biggest standouts for us was the timeline. They actually finished on time, which is a rarity in home renovation. Beyond the craftsmanship, their communication was top-notch--they consistently followed up to ensure every detail was handled and that we were satisfied with the progress. If you are looking for a reliable team that delivers quality work while respecting your schedule, we highly recommend them!

The team appeared comfortable working on bathroom renovations; however, the shower diverter was not installed correctly, which caused the handle to be improperly aligned. We later hired a licensed plumber to inspect and correct the issue. Overall, the quality of work did not meet our expectations. Some aspects of the workmanship appeared rushed, and based on our experience, I would recommend exercising caution with detail-oriented tasks such as wood staining, drywall, painting, or door hardware installation. This project did not go as smoothly as anticipated, and I would not choose to work with this company again.

She picked out the smaller stuff herself and we did an install day where I was out of the house for the day and she brought in and perfectly arranged and decorated the place! She managed everything from design to construction to decor and SO much more! It was important to me to have a stress-free experience and to be able to keep my normal day-to-day work routine while these projects were being executed. The result was fantastic! The home looks better than I could have ever imagined and was completed on time and within budget. I highly recommend Jessica and her team! Choosing a designer was my first step. And I honestly didn't know what a designer was yet but I knew I was going to need help. I interviewed a few others first but felt I was being buttered up to a sale rather than given real answers and advise. Jessica arrived at my home on time. She was straight forward with me from the get-go and was very pleasant to communicate with. She was extremely professional and explained which of my ideas would and wouldn't be cohesive to my goals, style and budget. She gave suggestions that I could have never come up with on my own. And she was honest about what unforeseen problems and expenses could arise while working with certain materials, electrical capacity and construction. Having this information up front from her built a trust that is priceless. Jessica is an engineer and an artist! In my opinion, her ability to balance the practical with the aesthetic sets her above all other designers. It takes a very unique mind to handle both concepts well. Not to mention management, delegation and holding each contractor and retailer responsible. All done with easy and grace making your project seem like a piece of cake! And to top it all off, I would have spent so much more on this remodel if I hadn't had Jessica to oversee the ordering, installation and maintenance. Hiring Jessica not only saved me money and time, it was also a very exciting and fun experience for me. I literally can't wait to hire her again!

She's executed everything from the floor plans, to electrical, to the chairs and pillows better than I could of ever done on my own. She's also been a huge help in helping me understand city codes (uugghhhh) and is helping me stay ahead of them. Her attention to detail far surpasses my expectations. Their response time is fast, this matters when dealing with commercial build out I am learning, and their attentiveness has made me feel like I am their only client. I couldn't have imagined a better experience and nearly one year later, I still love every single detail of our new rooms! We had actually worked with two different designers in the past for our home (a family connection who was based in San Antonio and gave a shot at one of those online services too), but unfortunately had very poor experiences so we were incredibly cautious as we explored who we wanted to work with for an investment like a remodel with a tight timeframe. We filled out a short intake questionnaire and put together a Pinterest board with style ideas and were blown away by how quickly she nailed our design aesthetic and knew exactly what we needed to do with the space. What I love most about Suzanna is that while she's an incredibly talented designer, she also works like an architect and was able to reconfigure a small space for us to maximize every square inch to somehow make our small room feel double to size and meet every functional need. Suzanna works by an hourly rate and I was very surprised how quickly she works and efficient she is with her time. She also includes you in as much or as little of the design process as you like. I wanted to be a part of everything because I wanted to learn, but I would have trusted her to make every decision without me there - and that is saying something since I'm very picky and have a very specific way I like things to look! I could not have dreamed a better experience in working with Suzanna. In fact, we are more open-minded for the next house we buy because we know we can use her to help us update it and make it our own! We can't wait to work with her again!
