I am so happy that I spent the money to get our closets redone. This whole process was smooth and better than expected. Every single person that works here from the designer (LeAnne) to the installer (Taylor) to the customer service side (Emma) were on top of their game and super friendly which makes a huge difference to me when getting any kind of service. I chose Inspired Closets Austin over vendors quoting less than half their price, sold on the idea of a high-end, family-owned business with premium quality and a lifetime warranty. [[HIGHLIGHT]]To be fair, our designer Kathy was great -- professional, responsive, and understood our needs well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But the rest of the experience didn't live up to the pitch. We scheduled our install more than six weeks out and planned everything around it -- including clearing the space and coordinating new flooring -- only to get a call *the day before* saying they'd ordered the wrong cabinets. No prior warning, and the install was delayed nearly a month. They eventually waived the final 10%, but I had to follow up to make that happen. Then after install, I noticed one cabinet overhangs a step by nearly 2 inches. It wasn't flagged by the install team at any point, and I only noticed it later myself -- disappointing and surprising for what I was told was an "extremely custom" design. We are the people who never leave reviews but we had such a positive experience we wanted to be sure to rate Inspired Closets. From beginning to end the experience was professional. IC came to our home to take a look at our space and was able to create a drawing for our primary closet that fit our needs. We went into their show room and worked to refine it to our exact needs. The install happened a few weeks later and was less than a day. We had ample notice to demo our closet and prepare for the renovation. When completed we noticed the area for our shoe rack was too narrow and was not going to work. I will admit panic had set in thinking we just paid to have our closet redone and it was not to completely to our liking. We called Rae Ann and explained the situation and that we really wanted something wider to fit more shoes and make better use of the space. Without hesitation they got to work solving the problem and came to our house a few days later to fix it at no charge. We thought they were coming to re measure and give us a new quote but the team had already re-measured, cut and prepped the new shelves and reinstalled that area quickly. It was such a relief to have an end product we're so happy with. That kind of customer service is what brings you back (and we definitely have other areas in our home we'd like to have built ins done by IC) . I am in total shock. This company does not keep the warranty promise. I spent over $5000 for am murphy bed and a wooden bracket broke. The broken bracket cost probably less than a dollar. For 2 years I have tried to get them to fix my murphy bed, but to no avail. The part was a defect and we have only used the murphy bed 3 or 4 time the most. Maxwell's son and another guy came to our home to install my Murphy bed. He reassured me everything was warrantied, and I even bought him and his coworker lunch. Now when I call to get it repaired, I get the same girl at Inspired Closets who has done nothing to help get to a resolution to repair it. She says she cannot do anything about it. She says she will get back with me and never does. Mr. Maxwell, I have been trying to get hold of you to fix this simple problem, but I always get diverted. Please fix my murphy bed. I have always been respectful to you, your employees and your son. Now I feel very disrespect that your employees are doing nothing to resolve a simple fix to my murphy bed. I have worked with Sherry on numerous occasions for custom closet solutions for my homes and I have always been very satisfied with her and the installation = repeat customer... for life! Recently I wanted to add some additional shelves to my closet and I went into the show room and spoke with Taylor about ordering them. She got me a quote and once approved and paid, the shelves were made and ready for pickup. A couple of the shelves had to be remade, but Taylor was on top of it to make sure I got what I ordered. We worked with Lee Anne for closets for a new place in Austin. Design -- she did an outstanding job taking our input on what we wanted and incorporating that together with a lot of excellent ideas of her own for our designs. The quality of the update and the system they use to present the designs was better than any other vendor we met with. Finish options -- we appreciated the range of options including design choices, and especially finish options that Lee Anne pulled did. It ranged for quite basic to keep costs minimal, to top of the line finishes and options. It was exactly the kind of options that we were wanting to evaluate. Installation -- Lee Anne, Craig and team worked with us as we had a fairly short time frame due to our scheduled move in. They were able to get the installation scheduled fairly quickly, which we greatly appreciated. We had a lot of work ongoing in our unit (window shades, in ceiling speakers, network, etc.) that I'm sure slowed things down for the closet install. Our installation that was only expected to take one day, took about a day and a half. To Craig's credit, they adjusted their schedule and continued on our project to get it finished. Last year, this great bunch of pros designed and installed beautiful custom "wine room" cabinetry in a prominent room near our home's foyer, complete with elegant, remote controlled LED lighting, as well custom, built-in bookshelves in our library. We liked the outcome of those projects so much that we invited this crew to come back this year to install custom cabinetry designed by Catherine for our primary bedroom's walk-in closet and for an adjoining laundry room where we are adding a new sink. Wow! Simply amazing! We recently moved to the Austin area and bought a home that has absolutely NO storage or built-ins! I contacted Alyssa and she could not have been nicer more professional or easy to talk to. she listened to me and designed my closet and re-designed it until it was right. Incomplete Job I wouldn't recommend the company based on their followup on an order they didn't complete. I ordered a custom closet to be installed, and I noticed one of my drawers wasn't what I ordered. I ordered a 24" sunglass tray and it was never sent. When I emailed them Shawn said it's a custom order that is 6-8 weeks and do I still want it? Yes, I want what I paid for. There was no apology, or explanation on why it wasn't ordered in the first place. They came by to "pick up my drawer" and do a custom job. It was just black velvet with 2 plastic separators on the side. Not a sunglass tray and definitely not what I paid money for as the price points are not the same with this. I would go with another company. read more
