    Thee most perfect Guinness!
    Gladys A.

It was my first time making a trip to Mammoth Lakes and my friend and I stumbled upon this pub gem! We got there at about 6pm on a Saturday so it wasn't so busy yet (which I personally enjoy more), super cozy atmosphere, our bartender Possum (I hope I got that correct) was super welcoming and awesome, and they had a nice selection of draft beers & spirits. I ordered my first ever Guinness (have tried it before but never actually ordered one, been heavy into Guinness series on Netflix so was excited about that) and it was thee most perfect Guinness! I appreciate that they had touch tunes around the time we were there so was able to enjoy my dranks to some of my fav jams. Eventually as the night progressed more people started arriving and it did get much livelier and packed so it'd be mindful of that depending on what kind of experience you're trying to have. Overall, I definitely look forward to visiting again in the future and recommend checking this sweet pub out :-)

Great ambience, I don't know what the other reviews we're talking about the bartenders were amazing. That said the website and Facebook are wrong, happy hour ends at 6 not 6:30 or 7. They were also out of the cider and Irish coffee. Good time overall though.

Alex is a fabulous bartender, plus he is easy on the eyes. The food is amazing and they have the best happy hour in town.

September 7, 2026 - Mammoth Lakes, CA…read more Great dog-friendly outdoor seating, friendly staff, and a menu with some surprisingly good finds. The outdoor patio is located next to a busy street, so there is a fair amount of activity and noise, but that really did not bother me. We stopped in for an early lunch, and I started with a glass of J. Lohr Pinot Noir. What a pleasant surprise--a really good glass of Pinot for just $9. We also ordered the Damn Good Burger, which lived up to its name. But the Bang 'n Shrimp ($17) completely stole the show. Crispy shrimp tossed in spicy Sriracha mayo, lime, cilantro, green onion, and sesame seeds. Spicy, tangy, crispy, and ridiculously addictive. I'm not saying I was still thinking about those shrimp hours later, but...I was. Add in the dog-friendly patio and friendly service; this is definitely a place we'd stop at again.

Can't ask for much more than that. The goat cheese flatbread was our favorite. It was really filling and had so much flavor. We also had the burrata, which was also good but not our favorite. We kind of hoped the bread would be sliced thinner and toasted like at other places we've tried but it was still okay. Can get busy in the afternoon so recommending coming before dinner rush.

For dinner we decided to order the Bauernschmaus German Sampler for two - Pork and veal schnitzel, kassler ripchen, smoked bratwurst and Polish sausage, potato pancakes, spaetzle, red cabbage and sauerkraut. $82. It was very good. There was plenty of food and we even took home leftovers. We will visit again next time we are in mammoth.

The food is decent, it's never going to absolutely wow you but it will be sufficient and well priced. This time I tried their mac and cheese, it was cheesy and I liked the type of pasta noodle they used that allowed it to get extra crispy and crunchy with the spiral texture, however it was a little dry and on the blander side for mac! The ordering system is great and straightforward, you order and pay on your phone and then food appears straight to your table! Genius, convenient and perfect for groups as there's no splitting the bill awkwardly at the end. And the dog friendliness is so clutch, our pups always enjoy the sunshine and rest. Really great spot I would recommend in a sea of terrible touristy Mammoth dining establishments.

We hardly saw our server. She came once to take our order, someone else brought our drinks and food, then that was it. All other tables, including next to us, had their servers checked in on them. Ours disappeared. There were only 8 other tables filled up. After finishing our food and drinks, another server came up to us to ask if we needed anything else. This took another 10-15 minutes for the check to arrive...from our original server. The bill came out to $99.44. We left a $15 tip. We probably should have just left the tip blank due to the poor service and not knowing the trouble this would cause. A few days later, a $1,599.44 bill posted to my credit card. Yes, over a thousand dollars charged for a $100 meal. They took the $15 tip as a $1500 tip. I don't even know how someone could make that mistake since we only wrote $15 in the tip line. The service certainly does not deserve a $1000 tip. I still have the original receipt and we only signed for $114.44 marked in the total. How that was changed to $1,599.44 is just bonkers and just plain robbery. Now I have to dispute this with Chase. So save those receipts, and watch out for this business.

Ravioli Bolognese: The standout dish. Rich, meaty, satisfying, and exactly the kind of homemade pasta dish that makes this place worth visiting. Pepperoni Pizza: Excellent crust, good char, and crispy pepperoni cups. Simple and really well executed. This is genuinely good pizza, not just good pizza for a mountain town. Caesar: One of the more unusual Caesars I've had. It arrived with essentially whole heads of lettuce, celery, and a homemade crunchy component that reminded us of a savory funnel cake. The homemade dressing was excellent. Different, fun to share, and memorable. Pasta: This is where Vulcania really shines. Everything tastes homemade, and I'd be comfortable ordering just about any pasta on the menu. Chicken Parmesan: Pretty good overall, with a creamy, rich sauce over the top. It was a little too heavy for me, but everyone else at the table loved it. Meatball: I would skip this dish. The meatball was undercooked and felt like it was lacking a binding ingredient. One thing worth knowing is that the kitchen isn't particularly flexible about modifying dishes. That makes sense for a chef-driven restaurant, but it's worth considering if you have picky eaters or prefer lots of substitutions. Overall, Vulcania is still the best pizza and pasta we've had in Mammoth. The handmade pasta is the real draw, the pizza is excellent, and dishes like the Caesar give the menu enough personality to make it more interesting than standard Italian-American food.
