Came here after the Derby Day 5K which was a blast! Tried a few menu items we haven't sampled yet: French toast and egg sandwich with bacon. Both were spot on! You can't beat the price! We do recommend dressing up the sandwich with lettuce and tomato.

Food , price, and views are amazing! The portions are big and the price is unbelievable low. Service is okay the cashier was very stern and wanted us to order in a quick manne but she was not rude. Don't expect anything fancy, its outdoor sitting the tables are very dirty due to the dust from the track so bring something to clean them. Overall a great place to take kids so they can look at the horses. It is a bit tricky to find the place.

Great spot for breakfast with a view! Small menu but large burrito with tasty hash browns. Reasonable prices, friendly staff, and a great place to hang out for breakfast. Free parking, and you can watch the horses as they warm up. Free coffee before 8am. Overall this is a fun place to swing by for a quick bite and a beautiful view!

Free coffee (before 8am). Friendly service. Good classic breakfast offerings. Always a jaw dropping panoramic view of the sun rising on the San Gabriel mountains. Horses training right in front of you. 2 of us with a really big tip ($5 tip on a $14 bill) eat breakfast for under $20. Clocker's Corner is a little hard to find with the construction right now, but it's worth it.

Fun, very casual place to eat and watch the horses warm up. Even though it's just a counter, make reservations if you bring a big group.

This is the best place for breakfast! Watching the horses workout while enjoying my bacon and eggs is my favorite way to start a great day. Their oatmeal is fantastic too.

Ask the Community - Clocker's Corner

    Is it dog friendly?

Yes dogs are welcome. Please be sure they have a proper leash as there will be other dogs there. It’s often chilly so perhaps a dog coat might be de rigeur.

Is there a covered area to eat if it rains besides umbrellas?

Not outside, but you can walk into the building 500 ft away. There are standing rails to eat at and some chairs and tables.

    Is it kid friendly?

For breakfast it was super kid friendly.

I am not usually the biggest fan of bbq(a lot of bbq sauces aren't it for me)... but I LOVE Jake's, the secret is in the sauce!! It's sweet and tangy in the perfect way and ends up with a smoky flavor from when they cook it as well. I looooove the huge beef ribs here, and the chicken is pretty good too. I've also tried the baby back ribs, which my family loves but I'm more of a beef kinda gal. Haven't tried much else on the menu because I just love the beef ribs so much tbh. The fries and salad are good, some other sides kinda feel like an afterthought, but the sides aren't the highlight here. I like the "roadside" nostalgic vibe inside, and the staff are nice. Some of the staff have been there for a long time and know a lot of the customers. Overall, this is my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood, and when Monrovia comes up in conversation, I always mention Jake's :)

This our first time at Jake's Roadhouse in the city of Monrovia on a Saturday,we throught will be a busy night at the restaurant it wasn't there's were customers enjoy this meal then we ask the waiter for a table he looks around the restaurant and found a table for us. We sat down then we look at the menu to see what to order everybody order on their own but my wife and I order BBQ combo it's come with a half a chicken,Tri Tip,two BBQ pork ribs, two BBQ beef ribs and two sides,we decided pick potato salad and mac n cheese to our meal. The atmosphere at Jake's Roadhouse is relaxing and a feeling see classic interior sign from the past that you can remember those doesn't exist anymore but enjoy walking to back in time. The waiter but out meal our BBQ combo meal to our table it looks scrumptious good. I cut a piece of the bbq chicken it was juicy, and tender and getting that smoke flavor in the chicken. And a bite of the Tri Tip it was tender and cover bbq sauce it good but it little bit too much of the bbq sauce but I enjoy it. The bbq pork ribs were very meaty they so good then bbq beef ribs they were meaty too with good flavor. The potato salad were very good full of flavors in the potato salad and mac n cheese was amazing cheesy good that I really enjoy. Meal come two muffins they very good. Everybody including ourselves enjoy the meal we were very happy and next try different items.

Their hand made tortillas are delicious and come out piping hot. When I saw the plate, I assumed that it would be a 5 star meal. Everything looked so perfect. I've actually had to give it some thought and concluded that I would have to rate it 4 stars because of how chewy the meat was. I found myself having to work very hard to finish the last few bites. The asada was medium rare and that might be undercooked for a cut like skirt steak. I'll be back to try their ribeye, which would be perfect medium rare.
