Won't go back again. I've been to Clocked! many times over the years with no complaints. Went to lunch with a coworker today and we wanted a burger joint. Clocked! was my first choice for a burger downtown and he had never been so took my word for it. Apparently, Clocked has decided to price like they are Balthazar's in NYC: Two burgers, two drinks and two sides and we dropped $30.00. To add insult to injury, my friend couldn't pick b/w fries and onion rings. Waitress offered to bring him one ring. Sounds nice, right? When we get the bill, she charged $1.00 for ONE onion ring. A basket of rings is a little over $2.00, but one ring is half that? And to be sure, she didn't say "I can bring you ONE onion ring and it will cost ONE dollar". The food was just ok. The problem is the price of the food versus the quality of the food. This was my last visit to Clocked!. read more

Everything was perfect. My family and I went on Friday afternoon about 3pm. We found seats immediately. Our server brought menus and took our drink order. We ordered a regular burger, bacon cheeseburger, black bean burger, order of fries and order of onion rings.After about 8 minutes, The server brought the fries and onion rings, followed immediately by our burgers. Great burgers and shakes! Now this is Athens, so every time I bring up Clocked it devolves into a fight of Clocked vs. The Grill. But that isn't fair. I go back and forth on who has the better shakes. They both have great shakes. The Grill has the better burger but Clocked has better choices of burgers and better meat sources. They both have nice atmospheres but Clocked wins in that department. Clocked has a beautiful website and the Grill has none. I don't know why I care about that. Clocked also has better music and bathrooms plus it has outdoor seating. But, ah! I wasn't trying to get into the debate. They are different places! They are both unique and lovely. read more

Clocked is my new favorite burger place in Athens. Even if they only served burgers (which they don't - there's more), the Clocked menu would still be a diverse selection because of the sheer creative volume of different ways they can prepare a burger. I also felt compelled to write this review (and give 5 stars) because our visit featured excellent service, which was a surprise to me after I read all the other reviews. To parrot the other yelpers, the atmosphere is artistically odd enough to be interesting without being obnoxious. Every day features incredible-looking specials, each of which would do well on the regular menu, but all of which feature at least one perishable ingredient that is best served very fresh (thus it seems that Clocked has ingeniously figured out a way to profitably serve really fresh food at a decent price!). If you want the avocado, havarti cheese and bacon burger, it's available as a special on Sundays. Fresh fish and chips on Mondays. Watch out Five Guys! read more

I thought this place was a bit overrated. The menu promises more than the flavors in the food deliver. I ordered a ring of fire burger, which wasn't very spicy, smoky, or complex, and their fried veggies, which lacked any flavor and was a little greasy (needed some vinegar or lemon at the minimum). The food was also pretty small considering the price. Given what I ordered, what I paid, and the quality, I don't think I would come back here unless I were going with friends who chose this place to meet up. Not bad, but there are better meals in Athens to be had. read more

Have been a ffan of Hudson carter's clocked for a few year, but they need to work on the service a bit. When last night and order four meals and some drinks. The Coke where flat and we ask for so more or just some water instead, and the Waioter dude/siad he was manager too told us "well you can just leave we don't have time for you." This after waiting 10 minutes to get served and waiting 10 minutes for him to come by so we told let him know the drinks were flat. What what a way to take care of your customers. My band was coming through town, playing at Live Wire, and some of us decided to check out Clocked. Definitely one of the best burgers I've had in a while. They've got lots of interesting cheeses, sauces, and sides! I sat at the bar and the staff members were super friendly, responsive, and efficient. I'll be honest - it was probably the best burger I've eaten at a restaurant. I don't remember exactly which one I ordered, but it was delicious. On the other hand, the service was so slow. We went for lunch and there were maybe 10 customers total. The server acted like he was on drugs or something - it was pretty awkward. Overall, great burger. Clocked is an interesting mix. It's the only restaurant I've known to pair diner-style furniture with a pseudo-Bohemian decor. And, when you walk in, the TV behind the bar will probably be showing something like an episode of the Thornbirds. The restaurant's eclectic atmosphere is certainly reflected in their menu options and creates an interesting impression on the first visit. You should definitely try the Peanut-butter and Bacon Hamburger, unless your a vegetarian, and if you are a vegetarian-- strangely enough--you would still be in luck because Clocked caters to both. They serve food fit for vegetarians alongside the greasy foods that most offend them. But do try the peanut-butter burger--think of it as Thai Peanut Sauce without the Thai. Also, for dessert, they have the biggest brownies that I've ever held, squished through the plastic wrap, and set back down on the counter. The daily specials are usually interesting as well, but the sweet potato fries are a little bland. read more

We ate at Clocked tonight and loved the food and service. When we first arrived, we tried to get on the waitlist and the server said she would tell the host and put our names on the list. Unfortunately, after waiting 20 minutes, we found out that we had never been put on the list. The manager, Katie, was very apologetic and accommodating and told us that it was an accident on the server's behalf. She immediately seated us and her customer service, professionalism, and friendliness were above and beyond. They certainly made up for their mistake! Stopping by in here for a bite to eat is like a blast from the past! It's decor gives you the feeling of a urbanized retro burger joint (if that makes any sense). Super quirky details from starbursts to a cartoony ketchup and mustard couple are found in the design of this place. All around fun and laid-back atmosphere. Now for the food! We tried the falafel burger, which is a great veggie choice on the menu, was amazing! Super flavorful yet no oozy mess you'd get from biting into a beef burger, not that that's always a bad thing. We also ordered the blackberry bacon jam burger....if you want a mixture of sweet and a kick of spice in a burger this is it! Everything we had even from the homemade tasting chocolate milkshake to the yummy flash fried sweet potato fries was perfect. Couldn't ask for a better burger/shake/fries kind of meal down here in Athens. To top it off, service was friendly and chill plus the food came to us pretty darn quick for being lunch time. Met some folks last Wednesday for lunch at Clocked. We wanted to enjoy the warm Athens day so we sat outside at the picnic tables on the patio. Burgers we suggested by our helpful waiter, but I was thinking Greek salad. I asked for the grilled Tuna steak on top of the salad & he said no problem. What I really like about a restaurant is their ability to make the customer happy. The food here is consistently very good, but not often great. I do love that they have tasty sweet potato fries. It is a wonderful place to eat very a satisfying meal when you are really hungry for grill food, but where they really shine is in the dessert menu. The homemade brownie sundae is amazing and we didn't get past it as an afternoon treat for over a year. Then one day we got milkshakes (insert Homer Simpson drooling noise). Wow. I have to say they are the best milkshakes I've had in this town and one easily satisfies 2 people. I've lived in Athens for over six years and I have enjoyed the food at Clocked. I have never had a problem with the service. So, I moved away and I've recently moved back. I went to eat at Clocked because they have good burgers. I can honestly say I was very disappointed of my "new" experience. The burgers seems to have gotten smaller and tasteless. The tater tots, which were always good seemed very bland. Overall, the experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth. I haven't written the place off yet since I did get good burgers in the past and maybe it was just a localized bad experience. read more

After reading reviews and seeing pictures of Clocked I was excited to try it out as I am new to Athens. The atmosphere is great and inviting, and I was greeted by a server promptly. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger to go with Cajun fries to go. The restaurant became busy about 10 minutes after I arrived, and I waited 30 minutes to get my food. My burger and fries were both close to being cold and soggy as if it had been sitting there for a while. My burger only had 1 small piece of bacon, yet it had stacks of tomatoes. It tastes great, but I am still disappointed that this was my first experience after reading such great reviews. read more

Meh. It gets 2 stars only because it's a cool little diner atmosphere, but it's dirty. The waitress sucked. The Detroit Dog was just blah. No taste. Chili had been sitting around for a while and I really don't like hot dogs that you can't pick up. Had to eat with a fork and knife which pretty much defeats the purpose of a hot dog. The cooks were dirty little townies that looked like they hadn't showered in a couple of weeks. $11.60 for a hot dog, fries and a Coke. Peanut butter bacon burger is phenomenal as are pretty much all of the burgers. You can just taste that all the ingredients are premium. I have to fight urges to come eat here everyday, and I think it has something to do with the sweet potato fries.
