We decided to satisfy our seafood cravings with a cozy date night at Rendezvous in Riverhead. This quiet, low-key spot is perfect for those looking to enjoy a relaxed, local dining experience with delicious food. We started off with their in-house clam chowder, made from scratch and served in both red and white varieties. The white clam chowder (or "New England" style, for those in the know!) was some of the best I've ever had--creamy and flavorful. For my main course, I went all out with a seafood broil that brought the ocean right to my plate. The broil included a generous lobster tail, tender scallops, flaky flounder, and juicy shrimp, all perfectly cooked and seasoned. It came with a fresh, crisp side salad and Cauliflower Mash that balanced the meal wonderfully. If you're in Riverhead and craving seafood, Rendezvous is a must-visit for the freshest flavors and a truly satisfying meal!

It takes me back to the 70's when things were great. The bar is fun to have a cocktail and play Quick Draw and the steaks are yummy and reasonable.

Cliffs is a staple in Riverhead. Operating since the 1970s, Cliffs serves up mostly surf and turf options. When I visited it was filled will locals, and it was interesting to watch the servers and bartenders call most patrons by their first name. I sat at the bar, and was immediately greeted by the bartender who asked my name and addressed me by my name the entire time I was there no matter how busy she got. Customer Service is clearly an emphasis here. I just came in for a mid-afternoon appetizer and beer. I ordered the philly cheese steak egg rolls. I felt like they were a bit bland and small given the price. They were served with a side of soy sauce, which I found a bit off as the flavors didn't really match up. It would have been exponentially better with a side of chipotle aioli or other similar dipping sauce. I can't judge the place completely on an app, so I won't be too judgemental. 4 stars for the small town feel and customer service, with an average appetizer.

"This place is kind of good but kind of bad..." -my mom, after being cut off by a golf bro at the bar when trying to get the bartender's attention. As other reviewers have said, the food is incredible but the service is a bit rough. If you want to be taken care of and have your every need met -- like water, silverware, napkins, etc., in a timely manner, this place is going to let you down. But if you can stick it out, be patient and overlook the rough around the edges level of service, a meal at Cliff's will make you pretty happy -- especially if you love steak and seafood. My mom and I came here on a Saturday night and waited a short amount of time for seats to open. A woman who was there waiting for her partner asked us if we could switch bar seats with her, since the guy she was with is very superstitious and sat in this exact same seat last week before playing a successful round of golf, which he wanted to do again. We made room for golf bro since it meant we'd actually be seated sooner. We put in an order for clams on the half shell, and I ordered a dirty martini which was made perfectly. From this point until after our main courses came out, I tried to flag down some water from the bartender, but with every seat taken and golf bro needing lots of attention this took a while, as did trying to get some silverware. All that said, the clams were fresh, the steak special I ordered was impeccably marinated and the soft shell crabs were fried to golden perfection. I'd gladly come here and have my needs ignored again if it meant having food this good. The entire restaurant is pretty small and every table was taken on a Saturday night, so if you're planning to come and don't want to wait definitely call ahead and make a reservation.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon. Was seated immediately. Services was great! Food was delicious! Ordered baked clams to start, it was yummy! Ordered the marinated burger and it came with fries! The fries and burger were super tasty! We finished the meal with the toasted almond cake, that was nice and light. It was a great meal, we will definitely be back! Thanks!

Always 4 stars, great people, great food, great location! If you're in Riverhead and want to feel like you traveled back in time to when restaurants were about atmosphere & food this is classic east end of Long Island. Just don't hassle the locals, it was our place long before the city Covid invasion. But you're welcome to get in where you fit in, have a steak, sit close to your neighbor while he tells tall tales

    Best name in town.

When we arrived at about 6:30, we were abruptly told by the hostess that this was a mistake and happy hour was only from 5-7p. At this point, we were there and decided to have dinner. We were seated immediately and water arrived at the table. Although we had the address, the location is a little off the beaten path. It has a very nice decor, very clean and pleasing to the eye. We were given menus shortly after being seated and ordered our drinks. My brother ordered a beer and I got an Aoerol spritz. In looking over the menu, we both decided on the house ground prime beef burger medium which came with all the fixings for a burger and shoestring fries. The burgers came out shortly after and in retrospect, we should have gotten them medium well but they were both delicious nonetheless. We finished our meal and were given a dessert menu which was tempting but my brother opted out and I got a double espresso. Our waitress was attentive and accommodating and was very knowledgeable about what was on the menu, what had been taken off the menu that partticular evening, which desserts were available, etc. She did check on us during the meal and at the end of the meal to see if we wanted any dessert. They have a wine list which was presented to us when we initially sat down. It is a pricey endeavor but this is to be expected at a steakhouse. For those who did not want steak or meat, there were also seafood options-shrimp scampi and salmon. It was a pleasant experience and I would recommend and will return.

The place is definitely dated, and not fancy, but that's what gives it its local charm. It has an old school, neighborhood joint feel, where locals have probably been coming for years and the staff knows everyone by name! We brought our 21 month old son and he was accommodated with a high chair and kid-friendly dining options. He ate every last bite of his fried shrimp and sweet potato fries. My husband and I shared the Kickin' Oysters app which were sooo good, that I wish there were more in the order. My son enjoyed his shrimp dipped in the oyster app sauce. We then got the marinated steak dinners, and mine was surf and turf with a decent size succulent lobster tail. The steaks came with salad, corn, and a potato. The marinated steaks were delicious. Juicy and cooked just how we requested with good flavor and char too. My lobster tail was cooked perfectly. After all that, we also managed to eat dessert. The cheesecake was our choice. It was okay, not homemade, but good enough to round out a delicious steak meal! Servers were friendly, and food came out quickly! The description of the restaurant, the menus and the reviews online made us to decide to give them a try. We're so glad that we did! We entered through the bar entrance which was lively but not crazy loud. There was a musician setting up in one corner of the bar area. We could hear him during our dinner but it was not at all distracting (and he was quite good). We were greeted by one of the hosts (who I now believe may be one of the owners). We were welcomed and escorted to a table in the dining room right behind the bar area. From what I could determine, there were at least two other dining areas and an outside dining area (for dining during the nicer weather). Our server quickly came to welcome us, ask if we had questions about the menu / specials and to take our drink order. She was attentive, pleasant and was able to quickly and accurately answer questions that we had (we have some dietary restrictions and needed to verify some ingredients. She knew immediately what we could order to dine safely. We started our order with the Chiccharon appetizer. I had anticipated that the item would be traditional crispy Chiccaron. Instead the dish was more of a pork belly in a broth. We actually enjoyed that much more! It was plentiful, cooked to perfection and flavorful. For dinner my wife and our friend ordered the sea bass special. They both thought it was plentiful, perfectly prepared and tasted great. I ordered the pork chop with spicy cherry peppers in a light evoo broth. I told our server that I wasn't eating potatoes or rice and asked for a recommendation for a substitute. She recommended the broccolini which was a perfect alternative. My pork chop was served perfectly (medium, juicy,) and was huge! We passed on dessert but the options looked amazing.
