New Year's Day celebration with family!

It takes me back to the 70's when things were great. The bar is fun to have a cocktail and play Quick Draw and the steaks are yummy and reasonable.

We decided to satisfy our seafood cravings with a cozy date night at Rendezvous in Riverhead. This quiet, low-key spot is perfect for those looking to enjoy a relaxed, local dining experience with delicious food. We started off with their in-house clam chowder, made from scratch and served in both red and white varieties. The white clam chowder (or "New England" style, for those in the know!) was some of the best I've ever had--creamy and flavorful. For my main course, I went all out with a seafood broil that brought the ocean right to my plate. The broil included a generous lobster tail, tender scallops, flaky flounder, and juicy shrimp, all perfectly cooked and seasoned. It came with a fresh, crisp side salad and Cauliflower Mash that balanced the meal wonderfully. If you're in Riverhead and craving seafood, Rendezvous is a must-visit for the freshest flavors and a truly satisfying meal!

Cliffs is a staple in Riverhead. Operating since the 1970s, Cliffs serves up mostly surf and turf options. When I visited it was filled will locals, and it was interesting to watch the servers and bartenders call most patrons by their first name. I sat at the bar, and was immediately greeted by the bartender who asked my name and addressed me by my name the entire time I was there no matter how busy she got. Customer Service is clearly an emphasis here. I just came in for a mid-afternoon appetizer and beer. I ordered the philly cheese steak egg rolls. I felt like they were a bit bland and small given the price. They were served with a side of soy sauce, which I found a bit off as the flavors didn't really match up. It would have been exponentially better with a side of chipotle aioli or other similar dipping sauce. I can't judge the place completely on an app, so I won't be too judgemental. 4 stars for the small town feel and customer service, with an average appetizer.

"This place is kind of good but kind of bad..." -my mom, after being cut off by a golf bro at the bar when trying to get the bartender's attention. As other reviewers have said, the food is incredible but the service is a bit rough. If you want to be taken care of and have your every need met -- like water, silverware, napkins, etc., in a timely manner, this place is going to let you down. But if you can stick it out, be patient and overlook the rough around the edges level of service, a meal at Cliff's will make you pretty happy -- especially if you love steak and seafood. My mom and I came here on a Saturday night and waited a short amount of time for seats to open. A woman who was there waiting for her partner asked us if we could switch bar seats with her, since the guy she was with is very superstitious and sat in this exact same seat last week before playing a successful round of golf, which he wanted to do again. We made room for golf bro since it meant we'd actually be seated sooner. We put in an order for clams on the half shell, and I ordered a dirty martini which was made perfectly. From this point until after our main courses came out, I tried to flag down some water from the bartender, but with every seat taken and golf bro needing lots of attention this took a while, as did trying to get some silverware. All that said, the clams were fresh, the steak special I ordered was impeccably marinated and the soft shell crabs were fried to golden perfection. I'd gladly come here and have my needs ignored again if it meant having food this good. The entire restaurant is pretty small and every table was taken on a Saturday night, so if you're planning to come and don't want to wait definitely call ahead and make a reservation.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon. Was seated immediately. Services was great! Food was delicious! Ordered baked clams to start, it was yummy! Ordered the marinated burger and it came with fries! The fries and burger were super tasty! We finished the meal with the toasted almond cake, that was nice and light. It was a great meal, we will definitely be back! Thanks!

Always 4 stars, great people, great food, great location! If you're in Riverhead and want to feel like you traveled back in time to when restaurants were about atmosphere & food this is classic east end of Long Island. Just don't hassle the locals, it was our place long before the city Covid invasion. But you're welcome to get in where you fit in, have a steak, sit close to your neighbor while he tells tall tales

    Best name in town.

A regular spot for the locals, most of whom looked to be in their sixties or seventies. And probably not too fussy about what they are served. Food is unbelievably cheap and rather tasty. Service was quick. I must say I did enjoy my meal. However, the bathroom is a disaster. The paper towel dispenser is rusted and should have been replaced years ago. Dingy looking with cheesy signs telling people to use the brush to clean the toilet if they make a mess. Doesn't look like the room had been cleaned regularly. Made me question how clean the kitchen might be The biggest gripe I had concerned the decaf I ordered. Nothing to me can ruin a nice meal more than old coffee and this was definitely old stuff. When the waitperson came around to refill, I declined and asked if she could make a new pot. She had to confer with the cook (owner?) first. There was less than 20% in the pot. I have never been turned down in all my years of dining out. The ratings plummeted after this.

It's a true greasy spoon and the ambience has a nostalgic feel of the favorite moments in the past and fun new memories from the present. Food is always made to order, hot and fresh and you are not encouraged to just sit there and occupy a table if you are not eating and I appreciate that as that makes the wait time for a table not too long! But get here before 9am on a summer weekend if you really want to grab a quick bite and go before the crowd gets there!

The description of the restaurant, the menus and the reviews online made us to decide to give them a try. We're so glad that we did! We entered through the bar entrance which was lively but not crazy loud. There was a musician setting up in one corner of the bar area. We could hear him during our dinner but it was not at all distracting (and he was quite good). We were greeted by one of the hosts (who I now believe may be one of the owners). We were welcomed and escorted to a table in the dining room right behind the bar area. From what I could determine, there were at least two other dining areas and an outside dining area (for dining during the nicer weather). Our server quickly came to welcome us, ask if we had questions about the menu / specials and to take our drink order. She was attentive, pleasant and was able to quickly and accurately answer questions that we had (we have some dietary restrictions and needed to verify some ingredients. She knew immediately what we could order to dine safely. We started our order with the Chiccharon appetizer. I had anticipated that the item would be traditional crispy Chiccaron. Instead the dish was more of a pork belly in a broth. We actually enjoyed that much more! It was plentiful, cooked to perfection and flavorful. For dinner my wife and our friend ordered the sea bass special. They both thought it was plentiful, perfectly prepared and tasted great. I ordered the pork chop with spicy cherry peppers in a light evoo broth. I told our server that I wasn't eating potatoes or rice and asked for a recommendation for a substitute. She recommended the broccolini which was a perfect alternative. My pork chop was served perfectly (medium, juicy,) and was huge! We passed on dessert but the options looked amazing. We will absolutely be back again SOON. Thank you.

There was a hair in it (I've worked in a restaurant before so I was extremely understanding about that). I sent it back for a new one and they took it off the bill without me asking. My husband ordered the burger and he devoured it. The truffle fries are a must. Last time they had a better more varied beer selection. This time they only had one IPA on tap but it was good. Overall a great experience and I'd come back again!
