Building material options/offering on offer during the consultation period was limited. A) A 18/16 mesh screen was installed. We would've preferred a 20/20 mesh density to prevent gnats from entering the space. We had to re-install 20/20 mesh screens from another company at the cost of 1400.00. This was a missed talking point of discussion during the consultation phase in our view. B) The presented Trex board options for the deck was limited to 3 material choices. We would've preferred to see a larger variety of the deck colorway options (samples). The color sample provided for selection isn't as forgiving of foot traffic & surface debris as we would preferred. 2. The installation work was scheduled randomly. We received 'day of' calls to get the work completed. I think this translated into the work detail being rushed to meet the production schedule of other jobs. Some quality of the workmanship (finer details) went overlooked/lacking as a result. Ex. Gapped installation on the Trex boards primarily at corner edging in some instances (see close up pics).

After that experience, I went through the portal again and later spoke with someone on May 23 regarding another service appointment. While I was out of town, I suddenly saw someone at my door through my camera system. Since I was away, I gave them permission to service the pool remotely. However, no one contacted me to explain what was wrong with the pool or discuss the repair cost before performing work. I specifically informed them that I had already replaced the flow switch on the salt cell myself, yet they replaced the same part again and discarded my brand-new part. When I returned home on May 27, the red flow light was still on, meaning the issue was never fixed. I called again on May 28 to schedule another appointment, only to be told they would not be able to return until Saturday or Monday -- another seven to nine day wait. I explained that I did not understand why I was being pushed to the back of the line when they had already come out once and failed to repair the problem. I have now been trying to get my pool serviced since May 5, and it has been nearly a month without my pool being operational. Additionally, the woman answering the phone at the Garner location was not friendly or helpful during the process. If the problem is not resolved by Saturday or Monday, I will absolutely no longer use this company.

Note: Carolina Poolscapes issued a response to our rating…read morewhich bears little resemblance to the facts. First, we did not use Yelp to select Carolina Poolscapes. Yelp contacted us after we terminated Carolina Poolscapes contract. Carolina Poolscapes acts like they were unaware we were dissatisfied. We communicated this to one of the partners on several occasions. We have emails, text messages, photos/videos, security camera footage, and feedback from other contractors who repaired and completed the work of Carolina Poolscapes that confirms the rating we gave. The evidence shows Carolina Poolscapes did extensive damage to our lawn, landscaping, and irrigation, failed to repair them properly, left construction and personal debris strewn about (some of which they never removed), and we later discovered the pool work they did do was unsatisfactory. Our new contractor identified 4 new significant pool plaster delamination spots that Carolina Poolscapes missed, cut out cracks they failed to address, and installed 22 staples to the pool shell. Carolina Poolscapes told us no staples were necessary. We sincerely wish Carolina Poolscapes could witness the firms who repaired their work and completed the project. If they could, Carolina Poolscapes would understand the importance of showing up on time, working a full day, exercising care, doing things correctly, worksite cleanliness, having the necessary serviceable equipment and tools, positive teamwork, listening skills, and not constantly badgering the client for more money and invoicing progress payments before the work is complete. As for the bluestone work, it was done by a subcontractor and now Carolina Poolscapes wants to take credit. Finally, the contractor's partners did not get along, creating friction on the work site, and contributing to unnecessary project delays. We asked for two small changes that added 1-2 days. Weather may have delayed work by 4-5 days, but that is due to the work stretching to nearly 12 weeks (for a "4 week" project). Unlike Carolina Poolscapes, the new contractors issued warranties for their work. As for hiring one of their subcontractors, Carolina Poolscapes repeatedly failed to repair the irrigation system. We considered hiring one of their part-time subcontractors with irrigation skills to do the repair, but Carolina Poolscapes complained, ..., thereby costing the subcontractor income. Further misrepresentations by Carolina Poolscapes on this website or further interference with our contractors under false pretenses (Why did one of the partners call one of our new contractors representing himself as the contractor on our project after we terminated Carolina Poolscapes' contract?) will be viewed negatively and do nothing to change the facts on the ground.

I called Patrick and he came out and looked at it - caulked the window a little, redid the inside frame and said it was all taken care of. Several months later, I was having lots of bugs in the porch and mice getting in my house. I called Patrick again and he told me "to hire a handyman to come and do some caulking". Again a couple months later, we have a big rain storm and the window is leaking again. Now I am putting sticky pads out there to see where these bugs and mice are coming from. I had to call multiple times with no call backs and sent multiple texts but finally Patrick called and came again - I showed him the sticky pads and he caulked the inside of the porch, caulked the window on the outside and wanted to leave it for a couple months to make sure there were no leaks. So here we are today, I called Patrick twice to see when he could come back and redo the window. Well again there is no call back. I had a contractor come look at the windows. Well, he was not surprised that the window was leaking - there is no caulking on the windows and no caulking on the new siding and now there are gaps in the siding. When I had the porch done, I also asked him to install a motion light off my garage in the front. Three months after that was installed, it quit working. When he came to see the porch I pointed out the light. He told me to get a new light and he would install it when he came back to do the window. I got the light but Patrick never showed up. So, I had to pay someone else to install the light - which I already paid Patrick for and now I have to hire someone to finish the windows in the porch the correct way.

We eagerly watched a neighbor's pool install earlier this year and was quite surprised at how smooth everything went. It turned out beautifully. After polling my neighborhood where there are several in-ground pools for referrals I went to visit a locally owned and operated company right here in Fuquay Varina. So glad we did! From the moment I stepped in their office, I was treated with utmost respect, no pressure or sales tactics, a welcoming environment, and a plethora of patience and information. We even had a few laughs. No stress! After the initial visit, I returned with my husband. Cannot tell you the countless hours we asked questions, looked at different pools, got quotes and much more. We just knew we were at the right place. No further need to investigate anyone else's offers. (Some of the other companies spoke harshly about their competition and that was a huge turn off) My husband and I continued to ask many questions over a few months. When we saw the final product at our neighbors house, we knew that was going to be an easy choice. From then on the process was made simple and seamless. We agreed to terms, we signed contracts, got final quotes, we fully understood the magnitude of this project and the start date. Fortunately due to a cancellation from another client availability moved up by two weeks and we were asked if we wanted to take it. Our project officially started April 1 and I am pleased to say not only did Cool Pools in Fuquay Varina stay on plan they stayed on budget. We considered many upgrades and chose carefully. (We recently left a review about the subcontractors that did our travertine through the pool company) Our completion date was last week on the pool. We have final inspection tomorrow. Without any hesitation, happy to report that Cool Pools delivered! The staff there acknowledged our every inquiry along the way. They stayed on schedule and delivered a superior, beautiful welcoming oasis. The day the pool was hoisted over our home and put into the ground was the only scare we had. Who wouldn't be scared of a pool going over their house via a giant crane? Cherie and Dit Barbeau along with their incredible staff, including Holly and Eutin held our hands through the process and always were available. Having a pool installed is a huge endeavor. So many day-to-day decisions had to be made and careful planning was needed for every meticulous detail. Happily our project came out above and beyond our expectations. We had to add additional fencing to keep our dog out of the pool, so we wouldn't worry about her jumping in, especially during winter when she goes out to potty. From the first rendering they provided to what the final project looks like is spot on. They are by far the clear choice if you are considering a pool. They found more issues upon closer inspection. Specifically more leaks. 2. They fixed all of the leaks. 3. They addressed the plumbing mistakes and fixed them. 4. They addressed any equipment issues that came up in the interim. In the end, they did stand behind all of the deficiencies, even though it took a long time to get them all fully resolved. My pool is now fully functional, and we love it. Had I gone with a 'fly by night' company to build our pool, I may have had quality issues as well. At least with A&S they stay in business over the long term and, ultimately, stand behind the work. While the initial quality was low on my particular project, I now have the fully functional pool I always wanted. I give them credit for standing behind their warranty.

Yes, we have power lines and a slope, but the salesman knew this when he assured us they had suitable delivery options. For 5 months, they blamed us, told us there was nothing they could do, and said it was completely on us - counter to what the salesman told us during the purchase. ORIGINAL POST: Epic Hot Tubs was an Epic Fail. Check the comments on their company on the Better Business Bureau website. It cost us 5 months, hundreds in legal fees, and tons of stress and coordination. They didn't deliver until we threatened a lawsuit. It was only supposed to take a few weeks, but it ook months. Jack Pyles was great until we paid our deposit. He went from telling us that installation would be "no problem" and they would "help coordinate" installation even with our sloped yard... to telling us it was our fault and on us that there were no viable ways to install the swimspa after spending tens of thousands of dollars. He never proactively communicated what was going on - only unhelpful and rude answers when we asked questions. He never even told us that the swimspa got delayed several weeks from the manufacturer to their warehouse. He told his boss that he had given us options but every option he gave us was untenable. For example, he told us to call forklift companies but none of them had operators and we couldn't find anyone that could help. It wasn't until we involved our lawyer and threatened a suit that they finally gave us a way to deliver the swimspa. The entire experience was stressful and unprofessional. Jack was especially rude.
