WARNING long post! I have been waiting to write this post, but there is no longer any point. I would like to thank publicly River Pools and Jason Jason C Hughes as well as the very helpful people at Pentair who have been extremely supportive and understanding, having to pick up where our pb failed. We contracted with [https://www.parrotbaypoolsnc.com/](https://www.parrotbaypoolsnc.com/) to install our fiberglass pool, roughly June of last year. This was our first pool, so the process was unfamiliar, we relied on the "experts" to help us. Despite questionable reviews, the supply chain delays and high demand forced us to make a decision we otherwise would not have. We settled with Parrot Bay, confident in our salesperson and his response when we asked what our recourse was as they wanted 100% payment before the hole was even dug, he replied "we want your positive review". Fast forward 10 months later, and to complete our project per our contract, they are requesting we sign an agreement that we would not post any negative reviews. I will say, the biggest complaint we had initially was only the poor communication, but that is not certainly unusual in these times. Now, I would encourage anyone to delay your project if you have to but do NOT use Parrot Bay. In the long run, it will be worth the wait to have competent, honest and decent contractors in your corner. With an investment this size, dealing with someone with ethics and morals truly matters. As this was our first pool install, when Parrot Bay informed us of the company they typically use for concrete, we thought, better to go with that company to ensure a more seamless project. In all fairness, it was our decision and despite the massive disaster the concrete company has proven to be, we don't blame Parrot Bay for that. We chose stamped coping and stamped colored concrete pattern for our patio, however they poured almost 1400 sq ft of brushed concrete and the wrong color coping. They noted the mistake, accepted responsibility and though we were told not to dig up the coping as it could compromise the pool shell, it could be stained. We gave the concrete company the opportunity to fix it, and though they did rip and replace the deck, they sloped it toward our foundation, resulting in our crawl space flooding. In addition, during the demo the coping was cracked in several places. They did stain the coping to make it look closer to the color we chose, but it was applied so sloppily it looks like a kindergartener did it. The same concrete company that did our deck, was contracted by Parrot Bay to complete our spa coping, which not only looks awful, but is leaking. Now after multiple other professional opinions, we have to rip up the concrete patio a second time, stain and seal the remaining deck, and demo and fix the spa coping. This is where Parrot Bay went wrong - they were quick to distance themselves from the concrete company on one hand, but demanded we pay them on the other. Not only did they not help us, Jamie Harris Braddy was unprofessional, apathetic and arrogant. When we tried to explain that our issues weren't cosmetic, she was sarcastic and obnoxious, despite our attempts to help her understand the magnitude of the problem. Meanwhile our pool was sitting, with rusting rebar at the bottom, stones, chunks of concrete, debris, which was noted when a rep from River Pools came to "repair" the damage. He was unaware that it still wasn't complete, but he was shocked by how the pool and spa were treated. As we no longer had faith in either Parrot Bay or concrete company, we sought our own estimates. Parrot bay(Shaun) initially said they would "fix" the spa coping, however their contractor was not able to do the job for another 6 weeks. We had someone ready and able to complete it right away, so we asked in lieu of Parrot Bay repairing it, they could get us a pool vacuum and we would take care of the spa. The initial dig date was january 8, it is not April, they had sent someone for 2 cleans, however things were at a standstill presumably because the spa and patio had to be repaired. However with no help from Parrot Bay and facing summer without a pool to swim in, we decided to clean the pool ourselves. Weeks go by, no communication from parrot bay. Finally after stalking fb pool pages and seeing a comment I posted (but did not name the pb) my husband received a message from Shaun. He profusely apologized for our experience and reiterated that he and his wife are involved in helping their community(not sure why this was relevant). He agreed to get the vacuum and we would repair the spa at our expense. Another week or two goes by and Jamie tells us that she will have a paper for us to sign, we assume it would include that we would consider the vacuum as fulfilling their contractual obligation - no problem. To our surprise, we got a call from a very nice representative of Parrot Bay, ensuring he was going to help us resolv read more
