Super fast and friendly service. Servers and hostess was attentive and checked on us often...I think they were a bit bored since it was pretty slow, ha! Food came out quick and it was delicious. The shrimp, mussel, and sausage came together, I could live without the sausage. It was not that great. We also ordered the oysters, I'm not a big fan of oysters so I don't have an opinion of it. I was wondering how good this place was before my visit because it's always busy and why to lie, it always smells good from outside. I finally stopped by and experienced it for myself. First of all, great welcoming. The hostess were friendly and genuine. We got seated 10 minutes after we checked in, amazing. They literally just like kicking crab and boiling crab, same concept. Few items are different from the other two places but pretty much the same with the only exception that you can get your shrimps peeled (but how boring, you kill the whole experience LOL) but my friend looooooved it. Service was fast and the experience was great. But I think......it's a little bit pricey than boiling and kicking. Yeah, we ordered exactly the same think and there's a $17 price difference. I didn't want to travel really far to another seafood spot and since this location is really close to me- I decided to give it a shot. Ordered 2 pounds of snow crab legs, $20 a pound. Also ordered half a pound of sausage (this was really yummy!) and ordered the jumbalaya. Nothing really stood out to me for the jumbalaya, the shrimp didn't taste that fresh either and the noodles seemed a bit dry almost? I brought it home really excited since I've been craving snow crabs, and as I try to break it in half ....... the shell's really soft. The meat keeps falling apart even at the slightest tug. It may have been boiled for too long? Just overall the snow crabs were not fresh. If I'd have known the crab legs were going to be like this, I wouldn't have wasted my money on it. They wrote my name and "new" under my order name. One would think they'd try to give a really good first impression so customers will come back. ... Sadly most likely not coming back. First and foremost the seafood here is delicious. It is a sit down restaurant and you will be eating with your hands. They put a piece of white paper down and you can go at it. I usually bring a couple fitness to this place and we split their 3lb deal. It equates to about $20 each for 3 people, but you walk away feeling very full. The only criticism I have for this place is that their spicy scale is very skewed. My friend who can not handle any spicy, they think barbecue sauce is spicy, came here. They were able to handle the mild spicy and ate some of my food with the medium. Esther was so kind and gave us advice to get one of the combo specials to get a better deal! She also recommended the Cajun corn which was delicious. Manny and Huy also gave us great kind service. They all seemed to be genuinely happy and brightened the environment! As for the food we got 3 pounds of cannon medium shrimp, and one cannon mild: personally when I come again I would get the medium because it added more flavor! I don't think that Boiling Crab, Claws, and other creole/Cajun are really different in terms of food. I mean all of their seafood in bags are all good, but what sets them really apart is service, location, a few other small factors. Claws is pretty much modeled after the Boiling Crab chain, and I think they do a good job of copying them! The menu is pretty much identical and the decor as well since they kept the pirate-y boat kind of theme. The location is great is in the plaza with 85 and Class 302 that is full of people around the clock. When we got there on a Saturday afternoon, there wasn't a line. But that didn't mean it wasn't going to be any good. I ordered 1 pound of unpeeled shrimp in their cannonball no spicy sauce and added sausage and potatoes. The cannonball sauce is a mix of all their sauces which includes garlic and lemon? My friend and I also split chicken wings. The chicken wings were small and forgettable. Don't waste your money on that, instead get their Cajun fries or something else to pair with the seafood. The shrimp was peeled as promised and there was plenty withinn the shiny baggy full of oil and sauce. It was drenched with all the flavors yummmm. I was sad to find that when I added in potatoes, they literally gave me one red skinned potato... But they at least gave a good number of sausages (they had a mild kick to then). In total, my bill came out to be $25 with tip...which was shocking. It was all because of those darn chicken wings.. I knew I shouldn't have been too greedy. The bibs they gave us were nice to keep our clothes from being spattered with sauce. My friend wanted to gloves so they even provided that too. They also have wipes at the end so you can wash away all the oil. Though they provide all of these convenient items, it's really to make up for the average service. Our server did not do the best job paying attention to us whenever we shot our hand up and called out for them. Unlike in the Garden Grove and Westminster area where I'm from, there aren't many of these types of seafood restaurants around Cerritos. Thankfully, they have this restaurant to go to. So what if Claws is a Boiling Crab copycat? As long as it offers the same or even better kind of fingerlickin seafood experience, as it did, it's all fine by me! read more

Went for a quick grab the other day for an oyster. I was very in mood for it. They weren't busy. But yet tables are dirty. After the waitress waited us I asked her nicely to clean the table and point to the area where you can see left over food on the table. She said sorry and grab paper napkin from table clean wipe those food on the floor. It really not cool. Ordered a dozen of oyster. It was terrible. They do not know how to serve oyster here. The oyster wasn't fresh. It smell terrible ( no juice of course! ) I can taste dirt in my mouth ;( and they serve it with LIME and cheap cocktails sauce... really? If you don't know how to serve it why bother put it in the menu. $18 is not cheap and to serve something like these just terrible. I asked for horseradish and it just gross. It's one of those mix with something and barely enough for one person. My husband sick last night. He got a food poisoning. The owner should really look into these matter. We are consider report these to health department. Seafood can be dangerous and not something that can be threatened lightly. Gumbo is good. I like it but it is not tradition gumbo. Maybe should have waitress warn customers or mark it in your menu. Place is clean. I love the sink for wash hand. One Bathroom is out of order and another one ran out of tissue. Ok then The chicken strips and fries were good, however it was perhaps one piece of chicken sliced into about 8 pieces to appear like a lot. Not filling at all. The sausages were average and the Cajun rice was dry and hard. I sent it back. On a good note, the drinks are bottomless once you pay once. They have a lot of flat screens on the walls. I'm done eating but I'm still hungry. The food tasted so so. The service was so so and it is a new restaurant but has a bit of work to do before I return. Claws is my all time favorite crawfish spot! Ever since the Brookhurst location burned down, I've been forced to subdue the cravings and have tried plenty of other places nearby but this is still my top recommendation over places like Boiling Crab, Kickin Crab, etc. My normal order consists of ordering a couple pounds of shrimp, Cannonball, medium spice. Perfect kick and the sauce has tons of garlic (vampires beware!). Anyways, the shrimp here has been consistently plump and juicy for me, normally I can get full off of one pound. I also really enjoy the Cajun fries here, though I've had crispier fries elsewhere but the flavoring is there. Most of their appetizers such as chicken tenders and catfish come in a bed of fries. I also love getting the garlic noodles, also packed with garlic, and mixing it with the sauce. YUMM! In regards to this location, it is definitely A LOT smaller than the Brookhurst location sadly. So the wait does get longer. The bathroom has a sink outside and two separate restrooms, which is always good. Service was quick and friendly, they refilled our waters without us having to wave anyone down. Overall, great place to fulfill all your Cajun shrimp needs! read more

All I can say is.. the service f***ing sucks!! This was a Thursday evening too! Got seated and waited 20min to order (all the groups who sat down after us, had gotten their drinks and even bread baskets), as I continue trying to flag down the wait staff. All the waitress who walk passed us didn't bother, even after I said "Excuse me." They all looked at me - as we did make eye contact - and didn't bother to assist us, until a trainee said "what do you need?" I said "We need to order." She said "okay, I'll get someone." She never got whoever our waitress was, but she did come back to take our order after 5min. Didn't get our drinks until maybe 10min later, appetizers till 15, and main dish till about 30min. Never even got our drinks refilled. They walked around for last call and then walked around once again asking if we needed anything else I replied with "just a box, to go" they came back with a box, with which I was going to pack up once my husband was done eating. But even though the server clearly sees my husband eating, she decides to starting clearing the table and started boxing up everything, no questions, just does it. WOW, realllly?... I can't even. You must add the corn, potatoes, and sausage! let the corn soak in all the buttery spicy flavor and it will just burst into your mouth as you take each bite! not a bad idea to order some rice or garlic bread to dip that sucker right into the bag of sauce either.
