Normally I don't give out 1 star review but this place is a big disappointment. The stinkiest clams ever!

TIP 1: The plastic bib helps. But I still recommend wearing a sleeveless top--the juices will splash onto your arms! TIP 2: If you love to squeeze lime on each bite like me, instead try squeezing lime juice into a tiny plastic cup to dunk your seafood in. Way easier. TIP 3: Don't waste the shrimp heads! They're packed with with a lot of meat (brains I think?) and flavor, so at least pack them to-go for someone else to eat and enjoy lol. Chicken wings and cajun fries were standard stuff. But what really blew us away were the chowder fries! Fries smothered in a chowder gravy sauce, topped with bacon bits and potato chunks. I would come back here just to have the chowder fries again. And that's also why I would come here over Boiling Crab. read more

Coming to Claws on a Monday afternoon before 5pm is the way to go! Yes yes it's super early but you shouldn't be eating too late anyway. Way better service than on a Friday night, that's for sure. Super fast and friendly service. Servers and hostess was attentive and checked on us often...I think they were a bit bored since it was pretty slow, ha! Food came out quick and it was delicious. The shrimp, mussel, and sausage came together, I could live without the sausage. It was not that great. We also ordered the oysters, I'm not a big fan of oysters so I don't have an opinion of it. I was wondering how good this place was before my visit because it's always busy and why to lie, it always smells good from outside. I finally stopped by and experienced it for myself. First of all, great welcoming. The hostess were friendly and genuine. We got seated 10 minutes after we checked in, amazing. They literally just like kicking crab and boiling crab, same concept. Few items are different from the other two places but pretty much the same with the only exception that you can get your shrimps peeled (but how boring, you kill the whole experience LOL) but my friend looooooved it. Service was fast and the experience was great. But I think......it's a little bit pricey than boiling and kicking. Yeah, we ordered exactly the same think and there's a $17 price difference. Fool my once you got me but I took it out to eat so they had me fool so I went back with my sisters to dine both order a pound of trip and literally look like less then half a pound and I order crawfish and the meat was stuff on the shell making it hard for me to get any meat and p.s. First time here, kind of disappointed .. I had high hopes for this place. I didn't want to travel really far to another seafood spot and since this location is really close to me- I decided to give it a shot. Ordered 2 pounds of snow crab legs, $20 a pound. Also ordered half a pound of sausage (this was really yummy!) and ordered the jumbalaya. Nothing really stood out to me for the jumbalaya, the shrimp didn't taste that fresh either and the noodles seemed a bit dry almost? I brought it home really excited since I've been craving snow crabs, and as I try to break it in half ....... the shell's really soft. The meat keeps falling apart even at the slightest tug. It may have been boiled for too long? Just overall the snow crabs were not fresh. If I'd have known the crab legs were going to be like this, I wouldn't have wasted my money on it. They wrote my name and "new" under my order name. One would think they'd try to give a really good first impression so customers will come back. ... Sadly most likely not coming back. Very disappointed with this Restaurant, I drove 45 minutes to come and have dinner with my family. To my Surprise the hours have not been updated and 8:37pm they won't take any customers. I asked to speak to a Supervisor and the answer was that they only have servers, so the answer is NO! we spent more time going back in forth spoke to Christina (the Supervisor) after a few minutes we have a Supervisor, she stated that I could take a picture of the door where it clearly states their hours changed! I asked her to update online that way customers don't come thinking they're going to have dinner. She said we don't have control of Google, yelp etc that pretty much the hours are put by someone else and she doesn't have access in making in changes, but if I take a picture I will know for next time their hours of operation. She told me in a way where I don't care about your business, go elsewhere with your family and have dinner we are CLOSED 15 minutes before!!! What a disappointment!! I love boiling crab, so I was looking for an alternative closeby. Decided to try out Claws, and I think it was a pretty good 2nd choice. My all time fave is still BC. Came here with my family for Sunday dinner and had to wait 30 minutes. *Cajun fries - Comparable to the BC fries...crispy and delicious! *Shrimp - Loved how large it was! *Ceviche - Good portion for a group to share a few bites. It was pretty good and had a fresh/tangy flavor. Overall, service was great and food was good. I'll definitely be back! read more

Ordered a pound of crab legs and Cajun fries. I love this place. The wait on a Saturday night was 30 minutes. They get you in and out. The staff was attentive and friendly. The crab legs were $18 per pound. I also had a corn and potato. You have to open the potato and let it sit in your sauce before you eat it to maximize the flavors. read more

First and foremost the seafood here is delicious. It is a sit down restaurant and you will be eating with your hands. They put a piece of white paper down and you can go at it. I usually bring a couple fitness to this place and we split their 3lb deal. It equates to about $20 each for 3 people, but you walk away feeling very full. The only criticism I have for this place is that their spicy scale is very skewed. My friend who can not handle any spicy, they think barbecue sauce is spicy, came here. They were able to handle the mild spicy and ate some of my food with the medium. If you like very spicy food, go higher up on the scale Overall this place has some great food and if you are feeling like spending a little extra cash on dinner, I would recommend checking this place out! read more

Litterally coming in at 8:45pm when knowingly they are open till 9pm. I called since 8pm and nobody ever seems to answer the phone. I know its busy but me being one minute late and telling me i barely missed the last call is pretty rude. Me driving 40 mins and them not answering within that time frame is incredibly terrible. I came in during dinner time on a Wednesday afternoon they seemed pretty busy with a big party right next to us however we were seated rapidly and given great & attentive service especially from Esther! Esther was so kind and gave us advice to get one of the combo specials to get a better deal! She also recommended the Cajun corn which was delicious. Manny and Huy also gave us great kind service. They all seemed to be genuinely happy and brightened the environment! As for the food we got 3 pounds of cannon medium shrimp, and one cannon mild: personally when I come again I would get the medium because it added more flavor! I have always had a great experience at this location. The food is served quickly and hot. I prefer over Boiling Crab and Crab Shack. I don't think that Boiling Crab, Claws, and other creole/Cajun are really different in terms of food. I mean all of their seafood in bags are all good, but what sets them really apart is service, location, a few other small factors. Claws is pretty much modeled after the Boiling Crab chain, and I think they do a good job of copying them! The menu is pretty much identical and the decor as well since they kept the pirate-y boat kind of theme. The location is great is in the plaza with 85 and Class 302 that is full of people around the clock. When we got there on a Saturday afternoon, there wasn't a line. But that didn't mean it wasn't going to be any good. I ordered 1 pound of unpeeled shrimp in their cannonball no spicy sauce and added sausage and potatoes. The cannonball sauce is a mix of all their sauces which includes garlic and lemon? My friend and I also split chicken wings. The chicken wings were small and forgettable. Don't waste your money on that, instead get their Cajun fries or something else to pair with the seafood. The shrimp was peeled as promised and there was plenty withinn the shiny baggy full of oil and sauce. It was drenched with all the flavors yummmm. I was sad to find that when I added in potatoes, they literally gave me one red skinned potato... But they at least gave a good number of sausages (they had a mild kick to then). In total, my bill came out to be $25 with tip...which was shocking. It was all because of those darn chicken wings.. I knew I shouldn't have been too greedy. The bibs they gave us were nice to keep our clothes from being spattered with sauce. My friend wanted to gloves so they even provided that too. They also have wipes at the end so you can wash away all the oil. Though they provide all of these convenient items, it's really to make up for the average service. Our server did not do the best job paying attention to us whenever we shot our hand up and called out for them. Unlike in the Garden Grove and Westminster area where I'm from, there aren't many of these types of seafood restaurants around Cerritos. Thankfully, they have this restaurant to go to. So what if Claws is a Boiling Crab copycat? As long as it offers the same or even better kind of fingerlickin seafood experience, as it did, it's all fine by me! read more

A pound of seafood and a small scoop of sauce. I asked for some more sauce and was charged $2.00 more. I asked the manager and he said that I should have gotten the corn and potatoes on the outside so the sauce would not have gotten overtaken by the items....huh? Ok then The chicken strips and fries were good, however it was perhaps one piece of chicken sliced into about 8 pieces to appear like a lot. Not filling at all. The sausages were average and the Cajun rice was dry and hard. I sent it back. On a good note, the drinks are bottomless once you pay once. They have a lot of flat screens on the walls. I'm done eating but I'm still hungry. The food tasted so so. The service was so so and it is a new restaurant but has a bit of work to do before I return. We look forward to returning kids wanted to try frog legs so we found this restaurant that serves frog legs...it won the kids approval. Love that it was a hand washing station right before the restaurant, smart move....we only ordered the appetizers garlic noodles (superb) and the jambalaya and gumbo also both very good and tasty. Went for a quick grab the other day for an oyster. I was very in mood for it. They weren't busy. But yet tables are dirty. After the waitress waited us I asked her nicely to clean the table and point to the area where you can see left over food on the table. She said sorry and grab paper napkin from table clean wipe those food on the floor. It really not cool. Ordered a dozen of oyster. It was terrible. They do not know how to serve oyster here. The oyster wasn't fresh. It smell terrible ( no juice of course! ) I can taste dirt in my mouth ;( and they serve it with LIME and cheap cocktails sauce... really? If you don't know how to serve it why bother put it in the menu. $18 is not cheap and to serve something like these just terrible. I asked for horseradish and it just gross. It's one of those mix with something and barely enough for one person. My husband sick last night. He got a food poisoning. The owner should really look into these matter. We are consider report these to health department. Seafood can be dangerous and not something that can be threatened lightly. Gumbo is good. I like it but it is not tradition gumbo. Maybe should have waitress warn customers or mark it in your menu. Place is clean. I love the sink for wash hand. One Bathroom is out of order and another one ran out of tissue. Ordered: 3 lbs meal..We had the fresh not frozen crawfish for $1 more per lb., claws, and shrimp with corns and sausages in our garlic sauce medium spice. We got sweet potatoe fries and wings for appetizer. And a side of rice and mango ice tea. The service was pretty good. They came and made their rounds very 10 mins or so. I come here a lot, once a week. Today, I ordered to go and I felt like I got rob. I ordered some seafood in a big bag, and 2 lbs of sausage on the side and they double charged me for 2 order of Cajun sause for those 2 lbs of sausage which I always paid for one. More than that, the portion of the sausage is smaller than usual! Just let everyone know, this is how Claw do to the customers. Came here for the first time with my family, about 2 weeks ago. The food was yummy, I enjoyed the cajun fries, garlic edamame, and snow crab legs. Tbh, I personally think that Boiling Crab's sauce concoction is better than the one offered at Claws, but I enjoyed the PEELED shrimp option nonetheless. I will probably come here more now since it is in my hometown and I do not have to go out of my way to go to Boiling Crab's elsewhere. read more
