Bomb! Close in comparison to Boiling Crab. The 3 pound meal deal is such a good deal! You get 2 appetizers included. Between 3 of us it was the perfect amount of food. I forgot to snap a pic of the wings but I HIGHLY recommend. I got both bbq and buffalo, my favorite was definitely the bbq. They don't overdo it on the sauce and the wings are perfectly crisp. Food comes out quick and wait time on a Saturday afternoon wasn't too bad.

Sweet potatoes

My favorite local go to spot when I'm craving shrimp boil. The flavors are delicious, I like the seasoning, the combo of garlic and spices compliments the shrimp perfectly. We usually add sausages and red potatoes to our 1lbs of shrimp. We counted 19 shrimp in our 1 lbs bag. Service is great. All the servers were very nice and tentative. Ambiance is nice, lots of booths and tables to sit at.

Peeled shrimp with potatoes and corn, I got the cannon ball with medium spice level. Garlic fries

My boyfriend and I love coming here! Place is usually not busy and the food is great! We live the garlic fries! If you can't handle spice get mild and lower. Medium is a bit spicy. The sprite was crisp as well! Loved it. The service is good too!

Fries

Catfish fillet was not good. Quality of catfish was poor. The fish was not firm like the catch we have in America. It was a SWIA catfish. Really mushy not flaky.Cajun boil was good . Customers service was bad. Our server was more interesting on watching the tv and their phone than helping us. It was only 3 table that was there. Also he forgot to add our garlic noodle that we ordered. Only seen him twice , taking the order and dropping off food. The host did more work than everyone in there. All the servers suddenly disappeared. Also they charge for sauce when I ordered a side of sausage. Total was $11.25 for sausage with their sauce.

Dinner at Claws for the first time with a friend. I ordered the shrimp with all three flavors. The shrimp was really delicious, strong flavors and fresh tasting, and the service was great. The corn was mushy - which is something I notice to be common for seafood boils - although wish it wasn't.

Came back to celebrate my daughter's 25th birthday. It was an 11 person party so we ordered 8 lbs of shrimp along with sausage, potatos and corn. Also came with fries and spicy edamame. Food was great! We were served by Aaron. It was his 4th day working here. He did a great job with serving us.

We ordered the 3lb combo with chicken wings and Parmesan fries. AMAZINGGGG!! So fire well worth visiting. Ordered peeled shrimp and crawfish with the cannonball sauce.. Big crawfish definitely a lot of me and the flavor OMG!!! Do not get the edamame not worth it.. but to each their own, just saying that that's all. We originally ordered that but the flavor was not it somewhat tasteless so we sent it back and they were so nice about it. I will say service and food here and the pricing is amazing.

Seafood Boil
Angela H.

I absolutely love the seafood boil here. The seasoning is on point and is spicy with flavor. Staff was good at checking the table. I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the restrooms. Also the outside sinks were out of order.

Ask the Community - Claws Restaurant

Can we reserve?

Are you you open? Phone number goes straight to voicemail :(

Are they open, call goes straight to voicemail?

Yes they're open. I think something is wrong with their end of the phone call because it always goes straight to voicemail unless you call like 10 times.

Does anyone know if they are open today? I tried to call but no one answered.

I believe that are closed!

Does anybody know their hrs of operation? I have been trying to order for days now and nobody answers.

Current hours are Thursday-Sunday 12-8pm 05/24/2020

Do they take reservations?

No they do not take reservations

Do they use msg?

Nope

Are you guys open on Thanksgiving?

No they are not

Do they sell their sauce by itself? If so, how much is it?

No, they do not. You would have to purchase one pound of seafood per extra sauce on the side.

I have eaten the same lip smacking, finger licking, tender,…read morewell-seasoned meal of Turkey Wings; smothered in gravy, sitting on top of a mound of dressing with two heaping sides of choice. Greens & Black eyed peas (this time) I had not stepped foot inside this hidden gem until yesterday. But when I did...my nose was violently assaulted the the aroma of someone's "Big Momma's or Grandfather's" kitchen. The cozy, warm, aromatic atmosphere engulfed us like a warm quilt, as we walked in from the rain. The gentleman we passed outside by the door walked in behind us and welcomed us as if we were expected for Sunday dinner at Big Momma's House! No, that is NOT the name of this magical kitchen, but maybe it... No, it is even appropriately named. I dont know what the "R" stands for, maybe its a play on the Southern dialect, for "Our?" or does it stand for someone's name? I'm sure the meaning of the "R" has everything to do with why the meal I have become so overwhelmingly familiar with is so consistently "Smack a Momma" good. Now, I'm not a professional food critic. But, I know my way around a few pots and skillets. I'm just an average Kentucky-raised, over-60, consistently looking for a good meal when I get hungry, don't feel like cooking or understands when my wife doesn't feel like cooking either, type of guy. Being country bred, from country folk, from a 1 traffic light, 1 cop car, outhouses still on the side or back of the houses; everyone knows everyone kinda town. I don't look for a Michelin Star restaurants, I just want a good cooked meal. Food that has been kissed by the ancestors of whoever goes outta their way to put their creations out to the public with no shame in their game or plates. My wife actually turned me on to "R-Kitchen"- in Lakewood. Her and her friends were out a while ago and called me at home asking if I wanted to try this kitchen's cooking. After 5 wife deliveres plates (all the smothered turkey wings) throughout several months, I finally experienced the personal down-home touch and smells of Lakewood's R-Kitchen. I've promised myself to explore the entire menu by ordering something different on each visit going forward. So, stay tuned, as I work off my last meal to make room for the next. In the meantime, drop by this gem of a kitchen and don't leave without grabbing a slice of that Lemon Cake!!!! ssshhhh!... someone told me they have a Gumbo Day!!!!

OMG!!!! I don't…read morereally leave reviews on yelp, (I just use it to find food options) but I have to say something about this place. There was a deal on door dash so I thought I should take advantage of it and I decided to order from this place. Had never heard of it before but I was in the mood for soul food. I looked at the menu and didn't really know what to try, so I just went with old reliable; Fried chicken plate with Mac and Yams. I tried to order another side but each side was $10. So I was like "I'm not paying $10 for one side!" But MAN I should have! My food was INCREDIBLE. I took one bite of the Mac and cheese and it was so good, I set my timer for 4:30am just so I can wake up early and workout. Anything that good, has to immediately be shortening your lifespan. My goodness it was great. The yams were super flavorful and the chicken was juicy and crunchy. And they left me a lil piece of cornbread and even that was delicious. Just all around great experience. Definitely going to see if they can make food for my job Also, I would have added a pic, but someone destroyed my food

Disappointed as I waited for my order and saw everyone dining in got cornbread free. Why not all orders? Everyone is paying the same price. 2. Fried chicken - had more of a cornmeal coating which kinda fell off leaving a weird grayish/brown skin. Chicken was moist and tasted good but not best fried chicken I've had. 3. Collard greens - best of what I ordered. Delicious but had a little kick. It was fine for me but others might not expect that. Would I go back? Perhaps if I was in the area like I was today. Food was expensive and overpriced. The staff was cleaning the restaurant floor around us, (…read moresweeping and mopping the floor....) The restaurant was not due to close for another hour and a half. The food was good.

It's the "HistoriONICS" of it all!…read more "The suffix "-onics" isn't a standard English suffix but often appears as a blend or extension of "-ic" (meaning "pertaining to") with an "n" interfix, forming terms related to systems, sciences, or specific fields like electronics, bionics, tectonics, or iconics, essentially meaning "the study/field of" or "relating to" specific concepts, often in plural or technical contexts." My mother and I have been passing by this place for years while going to our local Target to retrieve meds from the CVS inside. It's always a "We got to try them!" With a severe decrease of Soul Food spots in LBC, when we find one we are thankful. Thankful that we're still alive, sane, able to find the food that represents US. Erasure is real but we know we're a people that keep multiplying. Whether it's out of being too stubborn to give up or the enjoyment of pissing people off, we can't be stopped. You will wait. We walked in and a beautiful seasoned lady, someone's momma, auntie, and/or nana was quietly looking on her cell phone and then looked up at us and greeted us with such a beautiful smile! I was immediately made whole as the love in her smile put the grief I walk around with daily for my own nana, grandmother, and Godmother went null and void, filling me up with a rush of all their love pour over me. We're all family and if you're open, still, and quiet you'll see all of us in each other. Were look at the menu and the selection of food was wide and I wanted everything! But mindful of my pocketbook and the moderate prices, we chose the greats! Chicken wing dings, additional sides of yams, green beans, a slice of chocolate cake and lemon cake. Because more memories continued to flood my mind we chose some "mini dinners" as well. The ambiance was of those after church days and ya mom decides "let's eat here" and as soon as you see the mural of the spread of Soul Food on the wall you immediately ecstatically answer "OHH YES!" Mother said chose the oxtail dinner with greens and I got the smother pork chop plate with mac and cheese. I of course have my mother the "you know we sharing, right?" She reluctantly agreed and we giggled. At the time we were the only customers so waiting was alright with us because NOTHING GOOD COMES QUICK. That is thing about GOOD soul food. You will wait and you should WANT to wait. The love, passion, and blessings pour into the handling the food to HEAL you is not meant to be RUSHED. Having everything you want right now is NOT what you NEED. And the Mama, Auntie, and/or Nana already knows this about you, and gots exactly what you need for your soul. When our food was so securely wrapped for the drive home and given to us, the family member who brought it to us apologized for the wait but we emphatically said "Not a problem at all!" We knew it was going to be good and didn't want the impression of impatience leaving a disgruntled stench in the air. We were blessed by the experience and couldn't WAIT to get home and be healed. That's exactly what happened. The good healed my soul and my mother's soul was healed too. All the memories, stories of missing family members, and road trips, and church jokes, and grannies cussing, and the deep-dive into the "Histrionics" of it all rained down on us and we we're GOOD. The evening, sleeping that night, and waking up this morning feeling so blessed has made me whole and I am thankful for US. The food was so good I would consider "slapping my mama" but I've made it 45 years on this earth without truly losing my mind. But the thought is fleeting and still wouldn't be sufficient enough reaction to how good the service, storefront modesty, and delicious joy the food gave me. I'm a big FAN! FOR REAL. Thank you for coming to my TEDTalk.

Since we made it for happy hour we were able to get some zucchini sticks for $5. They were crispy and delicious. Really flavorful and soft on the inside. I got the meatloaf Sam- which which was HUGE. My husband got the Tuesday special which was a smash burger with fries and a drink for $15.99. He got a margarita as his drink so he got a great deal. The burger was a little small but he ate the other half of my giant sandwich so it worked out. The meatloaf sandwich had a delicious crispy sourdough bread with a lot of melted cheese. I added some ranch as I thought it was a bit dry but overall it was good. It came with a big helping of fries as well and I got the garlic fries. They were very garlicky but so good with the ranch. My parents got the Cobb salad and the turkey pop pie. My mom didn't love the pop pie, I think because it wasn't really a pie- just a dish with biscuits on top but the Cobb salad was really hearty with a lot of toppings and it filled them up plenty. They ended up taking most of the pop pie to go. This place has a lot of great deals so make sure you check them out. I think Thursday's kids eat free so it can get a little crazy then but the menu is great as there is so much to choose from so everyone can get what they want!
