Honestly if I could give this place no stars I would. How is it that we have a fairly simple order of 5 pounds of shrimp, along with other things, and yet you can mess up on the MAIN component of the order? Instead of giving a bag of 5 pounds of shrimp, we got a bag filled with crawfish, shrimp, and sausages! And when confronted on the phone, all they can say was that they were busy... TF??? Too busy to quality check an order? Mind you this is the SECOND time they fucked up my order... the first was a while back when they first opened and they forgot a small part of our order... but hey we let it go since everything else was right... and plus everyone deserves a second chance... but damn!! Went here with my friend for a late birthday dinner. It was the bomb. Service was also very great. The fried okra tasted best when it was piping hot. We got the 3 pounds of seafood to share and the sauce was one of the best I've tasted. Even better than the OG kicking crab. Definitely coming back. read more

This place is one of my favorites. My bestie and I love to come here and grub! The atmosphere is pretty good, clean, quick, and helpful. I don't recommend coming on a Friday night or weekend night because it does get really busy. My first time at Claws - we didn't want to drive all the way to Boiling Crab. I was bummed that they don't do half pound orders. Went on a Wednesday night for a party of 6 and did not have to wait very long. All of us ordered a pound of peeled shrimp each ($14.50) and we shared an order of cajun fries. We all though it was worth an extra 50 cents to avoid peeling it ourselves. I ordered my pound of shrimp cannon-ball (cajun, garlic butter, lemon pepper) medium with a side of steamed rice. I can't say that the flavor isn't quite the same as boiling crab but it was not bad. The medium was not very spicy though. My friend ordered the cajun rice which was not very good. Claws is a little more expensive than Boiling Crab and not the same taste - but I think I'd be okay with coming here once in a while when I don't feel like driving far. read more

Where do I start? Well 1st I gotta say the service and the staff made the experience amazing. Every employee there would stop at the table ask if we were good or needed anything. 2nd the food.. I had the ceviche oyster (not in the picture because I devoured them as soon as the plate hit the table) those were great and were so fresh, we got the 1pound bag with peeled shrimp 4corn 4 potatoes and a sausage with the cannonball sauce medium spice and it was amazing (make sure you get extra sauce on the side though) the garlic bread was fresh as well my bill total was $76 for all that food 4 beers and I also added 2 cups of steamed rice but trust me it was way worth it all. This was okay not living up to any hype. I order the package with 3lb of sea food. With two appetizers: wings and fries Cajun medium . To be honest it was not spicy at all it was just alright I could eat it but it was just alright. For seafood we decided to do only shrimp but three different flavors. I believe garlic, the flavor that had all flavors in one and lemon pepper all medium. It was not even spicy , we asked for a spicier sauce and literally no flavor . Overall I would say go to boiling crab because you get more and don't have to pay extra for things like lemons or salt and pepper. read more

I thought for sure we would indulge in some fine Asian cuisine whilst in Cerritos for a smog check, but pops wanted Cajun food, specifically gumbo. Born and raised in the south, he wanted a taste of home. I was surprised to discover a few Cajun restaurants in the general vicinity, but chose Claws based on the reviews. When we arrived, it was medium-busy and we were seated immediately. The servers were all nice, helpful, and attentive. My dad ordered a bowl of gumbo and enjoyed it so much that he chased it with a second, rice-less bowl. I was surprised at how much he put down! The menu was simple and straightforward (which I like), but full of shellfish and seafood items (which I kind of don't like). I finally settled on Cajun-seasoned tilapia and seasonal vegetables. I guess I'm on a fish kick lately, because I'd eaten swai and salmon the day before. The tilapia at Claws was cooked and seasoned better, however. The large piece of tilapia + a decent amount of season vegetables left me feeling satiated, but not overly stuffed. What stood out the most was the service - I was really impressed with how genuinely nice and quick the servers were. We had a few questions about the menu and the gal helping us took her time to answer all of them. Every time a server walked by our table, she would ask if we needed anything else. I never felt rushed to leave. Service: 10/10 Food: 9/10 I would highly recommend Claws to anyone searching for a simple Cajun menu, well-flavored food, and excellent table service. read more

Yes I'm a regular here. When it's crawfish season I come in at least once a week and sometimes even more. Food is consistently good and the service is amazing. There are times I can not resist taking the sauce home no matter what degree of spicy it is. I asked for Double Fire In The Hole which is not listed on the menu. It had a nice punch to it. The peach ice tea is addicting. The bengiets are my favorite however the Not Your Fathers Root Beer Float is not far behind. It's a bit messy on peeling the shrimp and crawfish but that's how you get the best flavor with shellfish. I have been to other places with similar menus but this is my favorite. read more

On a recent visit to celebrate a friend's birthday specifically on the night of Nov. 5 from about 7:45-9pm I never thought I would have had such a horrible experience. This was the first and last time you will ever see me anywhere near Claws restaurant. We arrived to the location and were seated with the rest of our party that had already arrived a short time earlier. Unaware of exactly how big our party was the servers did what they could to accommodate us so we can be seated. I managed to find a spot at the very corner on one end of the table and proceeded to sit down. Several people had already placed their orders and were patiently waiting for their food to arrive and I could not make up my mind since all the items in the menu sounded delicious. As some of the orders started to arrive the server that was tending to us was approaching our end of the table with bucket containing a full bag of mixed seafood. As she asked who had placed the order she began to pull the bag out of the bucket. Suddenly in front of the 10 plus friends witnessed the bag burst and spill the freshly prepared hot food fall onto the table and on my brand new Levi 541 jeans (I had just removed the tags right before heading out to the restaurant), shirt, shoes and arm. She quickly apologized and proceeded to grab some napkins so I can clean myself off. No one came to ask and see if I was okay or if I needed assistance. Furious I decided to go outside to cool off and think about what had just happened. After collecting myself I went back inside the restaurant and sat back down to join the others. I waited several minutes and when someone finally came back to speak with me it was another server that asked me what I would like to order. It felt as if the situation never happened. "How about some pants and a shirt?" I replied. He apologized and asked if anyone wanted anything. I told him I needed a minute to look over the menu, and that I will let him know what I would like once I made my decision. I waited several minutes and still no response over what had happened, just the other server that kept coming back to ask if I was ready to order. I finally decided to go up to the bar area and request to speak to a manager. I waited about 5 minutes and when no one came out I decided to go back to my table and wait. About 15 minutes pass before finally a gentleman by the name Allen came out to speak with me. The noise level was loud enough to where I requested to speak with him outside so we can discuss the incident. Once outside I began to explain to him what had happened. He apologized and told me I could simply just wash it off. "Wash it off?!" I said. "Yeah I spill stuff on my clothes all the time. It'll just come off." First and foremost to anyone who has been to claws their uniforms are all black. So I followed up his reply with a frustrated, "You know you're wearing all black right? My clothes are light colors. There's oil, spices, juices, and other shit. This stuff is not just going to come off. My clothes are ruined." Realizing I was about to lose my shit and going nowhere fast with Allen I finally requested additional information so I can contact someone else. "You can just grab a business card all the information you need is on that card." Thanks Allen. When I looked at the card the only information it had was the number to the restaurant and a website. No HR, Corporate, or customer service line. I never ordered food or drinks nor did I want anything after Allen left such an unpleasant taste after speaking with him. He came back with a camera and asked to take a photo of the stained clothes and that was the last I was of Allen. The only thing I left with from the restaurant was a business card with basic information and stained clothes that reeked of seafood and spices. I wasn't looking to get anything out of it. A simple let me try to fix this or are you okay would have been enough to make me feel like my business was important to them. Any normal restaurant will go above and beyond to take care of their customer's needs. Hell McDonald's has messed up my order and I've had better customer service. At least they have the decency to tell you I'm sorry and that they will take care of it. Claws restaurant has lost my business and I will be sharing my experience with everyone. Friends, family, and anyone else that is looking for a fun restaurant experience will be hearing about the poor treatment I received. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope that claws will use this to improve staff training (especially management) to prevent this from happening in the future. Everytime I would go to Gen Korean BQQ, I would see Claws and there will always been tons of people waiting outside as well. My friend told me it was so great, that's why I would always drive a 30 min drive to Garden Grove for Boiling Crab. But one day my boyfriend and I didn't want to drive all the way to Garden Grove , so we just decided to stop at Claws. Good service, ladies were always attentive from refilling our drinks or bringing more lime or anything! What I loved about this place is that they have meal bundles we got the 3 pound shrimp with the two sides Cajun fries and spicy Edamame . What I also loved is that their shrimp were huge! Probably the only thing I disliked was there sauce, it was crumbly like chunky. The taste was okay, but what I also dislike from Boiling Crab is that their sauce is too oily. So I hadnt been to this claws location, but came here for a date. So yeah the advantage is there was no line at all here. That is very nice to say the least when your meeting up and want a quieter joint... but it was a monday night and they had hockey and football on the tubes... So the grub i am sure is what most of you are more interested in, was pretty average... we got shrimp, andouille sausage, corn, and oysters. Obviously we wanted the "cannonball" aka the whole shabang at boiling crab or all of the possible ingredients... the sauce was so so. The grub it self wasnt special IMHO either. The service was a bit spotty as well. At times it was en pointe and at others it was missing. For example we were totally out of water before we got a refill and had our food arrive when we got our water. However at the end of the meal when we were mostly done, our glasses never even got half empty. At least I had good company. If it hadnt been for that, I would have been a bit disappointed in the night. So yeah this seems to be a pretty average joint IMHO... nothing special and nothing disgusting... just average with quick and easy seating... read more

The Calamari and Cajun seasoning fries are freaking good! This place is waaaay better than Boiling Crap. Also, the service is outstanding. No waiting in line, food was out in less than 10 minutes and our waitress made sure we were well taken care of. I can't even begin to tell how freaking good this place is. Been coming here for a long time. Lately I notice the workers just don't care they ignore you when asking for a refill and stuff but this time I went it was horrible they didn't bring our right order out, we were a party of 11. We got our drinks and food and never got a refill after we ask the worker for refill he repeats the drinks to us and never cam back just was dancing walking around. I called to speak to manager was informed they'll call me back they didn't so I called back and they said no manager is there only certain days which explains how the workers act. I than call the day they informed me I spoke to a manager and she has the nerve to argue on everything I informed her about said workers probably busy doing something else I say no they just were walking around even after asking us what drinks we have. She than says not her workers I say please look at your camera she says we actually had a manager in that day. Which I was confused to how a manager lets there workers just wonder of and not give customer service. I explain I didn't see one she says well there was one. I than state to her why do you guys only have one worker mobbing and throwing trash away the dude being the only opposite race they have there. She ignored me and said she will speak to the other manager of what to do and contact me back. Why will a manager contact a manager on how to handle there job ?? Well she never called back. Just sad how a good restaurant can go to bad service so fast on having poor management I feel the workers being male don't listen to manager being a female by the way they just not working but dancing and playing music as if it's a night club. Claws is my number one favorite food of all time!!! They have a spectacular menu filled with amazing options! All of the things I have tried have been Excellent!!! My favorite drink here is their Michilada. And I am very picky when it comes to these but there's is exquisite I love the seasoned garlic fries the most and calamari oh and oysters with ceviche on top!!! Soooo yummy But seriously, lots of places are now doing this Cajun style cuisine, but NOBODY does it as good as Claws! The shrimp are huge and tasty!! Came here for my birthday. Got a pound of their peeled shrimp with the sha bang seasoning mild. Thought that it could have been spicier. Maybe next time I'll get the medium. Clean and nicely decorated / themed restaurant. The staff is friendly. Restaurant is located in a busy business / eatery plaza so it may be difficult to find parking depending on the time that you go. I love sweet teas and decided to try the peach iced tea. I was not disappointed. I asked for 4 refills! There were pieces of peaches in the tea that made it even better! For dinner, I ordered a pound of peeled shrimp cannon ball style. The shrimps were big and the sauce was tasty. I also ordered the Cajun Seafood Pasta. This was just as tasty. My top go to crawfish spot. Since the one in Garden Grove burned down, I figured I'd write another review for their new location in Cerritos. I love the location. It's right in the middle of an Asian hub, across the street from Cerritos Mall. Perfect for a good dinner and movie (hint hint to all you men out there ;) ). For appetizers we ordered their garlic fries. It comes with a mustard mayo sauce, but I feel like it went better with ketchup...blasphemy right? I loved that the fries came out fresh and piping hot! The garlic and cheese wasn't too overpowering, the fries also had a good crunch to it. Definitely one of my new go-to appetizers when coming here! For the main course, we had snow crab legs, mussels, and shrimp with medium cannon ball sauce (cajun, garlic butter, and lemon pepper). Their sauce is what I think separates them from their competitors. Tastes like they use a ton of garlic and a ton of butter - recipe for a good time and a happy belly. I highly recommend getting their cannon ball over single flavors. For the seafood, it was actually my first time trying any crab at any "crawfish" spot. I'm very glad I did. It runs a little bit more expensive than the other options (~$17/lb.), but totally worth the extra money! Lastly, the mussels and shrimp were big and juicy so no complaints from my end. The plaza itself is a good spot to if you have extra time to kill. Especially since it's smack dab in the middle of boba central (85, class 302, etc.). Gotta wash down that food somehow :).
