My recent visit to Claire's at Great Mall Milpitas was a nightmare, all because of a tall staff member (can't tell the gender) with shockingly poor customer service. I took my daughter in for an ear piercing and was directed to the jewelry area. When I started looking at the jewelry, the same worker rudely scolded me and said "DO NOT TOUCH OUR STUFF" , despite there being NO SIGNS or INSTRUCTIONS. I told him he/she can say it nicely but he/she was unapologetic and rude. The attitude was completely unacceptable. As a small business owner, I understand the impact of negative customer experiences, and this was beyond bad. I genuinely hope the management addresses this worker's behavior because no customer deserves to be treated this way. This happened on Sunday at 3:30 pm, August 4, 2024. read more

Just had the pleasure of having Angela pierce my 4 year old nieces ears! She was confident in her answers to all of our questions we had. Went over all of our options and the best options for my niece! She was AMAZING!!! 10 out of 10 would recommend! Friendly, kind, and just so nice! Very bad customer service. The staff is not experienced in ear piercing nor with talking to customers. I had my daughter ear piercing done here, after going home I realized that the piercing was not identical on both ears, when I went there to get their opinion to fix it, the staff was not even talking properly. They ar not trained to handle such situations or even guide customers. She just said, it's not their fault, and you guys need pay again to do another piercing. I am completely fine with piercing again and paying, but at least explain things properly! read more

At age 65 I was joking about ear piercing as part of my bucket list. My son-in-law gave a $25 gift card, so what the heck. My step daughter went with me this afternoon & picked out a pair of not too girly earrings. I did Googled beforehand and know they use a gizmo that pierces the ear and inset the earring all at the same time. I admit i was real apprehensive, I just gone thru eye surgery and I was more nervous today. The sales lady, Jess I think, was real nice & told me what she was going to do next. The needle going thru was painless, but the i inserting of the earring stung. I was joking I should have a few beers before going in. In conclusion, I'm glad I did get my ears pierced but being wish-washing for 65 years. Jess sterilized everything before doing the ear piercing, my step daughter even had her repositioned the hole a couple of time to make sure they were aligned. Claire's almost always has 50% off on all items online. Everything is full price in stores. So depending what you're buying you can either pay $6 shipping or full price in store. I was going to buy a Christmas charm bracelet, but the cashier said it would be final sale. She says seasonal items are final sale. Nothing on the return policy specifies this. I ended up not buying it because I asked to inspect the item and saw that the lobster clasp didn't close all the way. $10 doesn't seem like a lot but other stores have jewelry under $5 and an actual return policy. It's just absurd and silly to have a final sale policy on random items. I understand final sale policies for face masks but not this? I don't like when stores are inconsistent with their promotions and store policies. read more

I always drop by here when I'm at the mall and lucky ol' me dropped by when they were having their BEST clearance deals so far ! $2 for nearly 1/4 of their merchandise (and some items were ONLY 1 cent!!!) they also had $5 bags and even sold a super cute Hello Kitty Throw Blanket for only $2 (of course they sold out as soon as an associate took them out!) It seems they are having their deal until everything is sold out so stop by soon !! Also, they have really good customer service. !! I don't recall their names but the few that I have communicated with are very informative and friendly! Out of all the Claire Boutiques that I've been to, this one is the "ok" version. Nothing really spoke to me, as I walked around the small shop, and the workers appeared to be very uninterested in whatever they were doing. They seemed very bored and mainly kept to themselves while me and a couple other people just moved about, surveying their stuff. Also, some of their jewelry were dirty and appeared to be broken (a green statement necklace in particular) -none of these items were on clearance, by the way. All in all, blah. read more

This is probably my first time back at Claire's, after maybe 8th grade or something -- so basically a longgggg time ago. I just assumed the store is staffed with high schoolers looking for a part time gig so they can pay for whatever the hell high school kids are into nowadays. Instead, we were helped by Rachel. My husband had scheduled an appt for our infant daughters ear piercing. Rachel patiently answered our thousands of questions and calmed our "first time parent" nerves. She went above and beyond my expectations and for that, I'm very grateful. We paid $99.99 for 14k gold and diamond stud and $12 for the 3 week cleansing solution. My kid must have cried for a total of 20'seconds (probably from freaking out ) Although I don't see myself shopping at Claire's (until my daughter is old enough to demand to go there); I'll surely be recommending this spot for anyone that wants to get their infants ear pierced. I was here today on black Friday 2012. When we were there, it was busy and we found two salespeople. The first one on the forward facing register was being so sweet to each customer she helped and made sure each understood the specials so customers like us could use them to the fullest extent. She didn't seem to have a name tag, and I so hope I don't offend her by saying she was the only African American girl working at the time. She was an absolute pleasure to work with and I heard her interacting with other customers and the smile and friendly demeanor existed with each customer. We got there late in the day so certainly she had been there many hours and she was showing no signs of fatigue. If she is seasonal only, Claire's needs to keep her. If you want to message me her first name, I will adjust my review accordingly. The reason I am giving just two stars is the other girl whose name tag said "Amanda" was nothing short of scary. We were in the other line and would have been taken second with the great associate from above, but instead we got Amanda who clearly hates people and her job. While we were shopping around she went a few steps out of the exit a literally yelled at someone for going the wrong way. My daughter and I shared a "let's avoid her" look only to be grabbed out of line by her, the last thing we wanted because she was so nasty and we liked the other girl. As she rang us up I asked if I could see each individual price because their sale was confusing and she got super condescending while my youngest daughter stood and whispered in my ear that she was scared of her. I'm a tough cookie, but even I wasn't going to put her on my bad side. I hope the owners will read this and thank the one cashier who helped us before we were rung up and the line we went to( hers ) because she was so nice and wanted to be sure we understood the sales without the "You're annoying me" sighs and dirty looks that Amanda offered up. We did want to buy a few more items, but my daughter seriously said she felt scared and wanted to leave. The one extra star is only for the great cashier we wanted to check us out. Amanda is toxic and must be the manager's kid or something. There's no way they'd put up with what we saw unless there's s hefty dose of nepotism at play. read more

I came here to buy earring backs for my daughter about a month ago. The customer service here is definitely lacking. When I walked in, there were 2 employees talking to each other. When I was ready to pay, I stood at the cashier station for a while before anyone decides to help me. As soon as someone came to help me, I said "Hi", with no response from the lady. After I paid, there were no "thank you", even after I said "thanks." I'm a paying customer and this makes me feel like I'm not welcomed there. read more

Super packed when I came in to purchase some standard earrings. There's no clear indication of where the line starts, and as there were two girls on either side of the cash register, I decided to wait in line on the opposite side. I probably stood there for at least 5 minutes before the manager said that the line started on the other side. Ok, so I go and wait on the other side for a few minutes when the girl on that side told me I could line up on the opposite side. Uh, I was literally just there. Long story short, I ended up being able to check out finally after waiting a little longer in line. I've been to other Claire's stores and would highly recommend going to another location over this one. Having a staff of 4-5 girls crowded around the register talking to each other is probably not the best staffing plan. This store is also smaller than some of its counterparts, and with the amount of people crowding in, you don't have a lot of elbow room. Pass. read more

There was only one cashier with 2 people in front of me and 2 people behind me totaling 5 customers. After 15 minutes in line the cashier was still helping the same customer. I was a frustrated but still stayed in line. A lady not in line asks me if she could go in front of me. Then 1 minute later another lady asks me the same thing. They didn't want to wait in line. I told them both no because I also needed to leave. At this point the cashier had just finished with her current customer and the lady not in line asks the cashier, " Can you ring me quickly"? She allowed it! It was not fair for the customers that had the patience to wait in line. Everyone has somewhere they need to be. To avoid bad customer service they should work another cashier. Ear pierce by Elizabeth was great, She was very patient and kind to my daughter The second pierce was harder than I ever expected but she talked my 3 year old through it successfully. Although there was others in there I did not feel rushed and she helped show me how to care for the piercing after and even gave us her number to call for any questions. Worst customer service EVER! Me and my friend wanted to get matching Cartlidge piercing, mean while we're looking at earrings to choose from we never got any acknowledgements! The two associates standing at the register area gossiping made eye contact and never once ask if we need it any assistants. We could of easily walked out with items because they where so busying doing there thing, not even paying any attention to there guest. Don't recommend this store at all we end up at Piercing pagoda and highly recommend there professionalism. read more

When I was shopping with my daughter at Claire's, a worker came up to us and said that they had a promotion (buy 5 and get the 2 cheapest items for free) then they handed us a bag, we already had 3 things, so we stayed there longer to get 2 more. When we we're done shopping for our 5 items we went to the cashier and payed for our items without checking the receipt. When we went home we checked it and saw that we had paid for ALL of the items without getting the discount. That was a rip-off and a waste of money. Came here to buy earrings. Their deal was buy 2 and get 1 free. Bought the three and also a ring with rhinestones on it. I asked about returns and was told 30 days with receipt. Came back a few days later to return everything because the earrings had some rust looking stuff on it and the ring just didn't fit right. Couldn't return the ring because it was not allowed according to the policy on the back of the receipt, which I didn't read since I was told verbally the 30 day policy by another cashier. By the way, how are we supposed to know something isn't refundable until after its purchased? "Frannie" told me "if you were to read the policy..." In such a rude manner, I no longer felt welcome.. Worst attitude to a customer ever! Get a new job or suck it up and be nice. read more

The shopping experience was RUINED by the time I was about to leave the store with my friends. My friend was holding on to these earrings she was thinking about getting and in the end, she decided to put them back. Suddenly, the store manager falsely accused us of shop lifting and threatened us to open the camera tapes. This is by far the worst Claire's I've been to. I came in to get my ears pierced, my problem was not with any of the other workers, but with the person I was told to be "manager". Her attitude was overall rude and pushy. This wasn't my first time getting an ear piercing at Claire's so I knew for a fact that I wanted the regular ear piercing solution and even told her twice, but she kept on insisting that the rapid resolution was a lot better and I listened to what she had to say but I never agreed to get it .I told her that I would just stick with regular and then she responded asking me if I wanted to do the three week one and I agreed saying yes because I did not know that rapid solution was the three week one. She baited me into saying yes for something I did not understand and was not clear about. I later found out when my ear piercing was finished and I went to the register to pay, I noticed the price was a lot higher so I asked why and that's when she told me that I chose rapid solution because I agreed to the 3 weeks question. She then told me that there's nothing she can do at that point when she can easily just switch the bottle and charge me different because I did not even pay yet.
