Don't be fooled by the mini Sephora inside Kohl's at Great Mall! I almost made that mistake--thank goodness someone told me to head to the main Sephora store at the other end of the mall. What a difference! When I walked in, I was relieved to see a full-sized store with a wide selection. My hope was instantly restored. The Kohl's location had very few products, barely any staff, and the help I did get wasn't exactly helpful. The main store was busy, but I was lucky enough to be helped by Donna--and she was amazing! I love Sephora and I love the manager Abigail. What a great combo. I was having a bad day, a really bad day, so I stopped by Sephora to buy something to fix my face after tears had ruined my makeup. I was looking around for this and that. I basically bought everything from the Dior section, a couple items by Too Faced, then I was looking at the perfume. Yes, I needed a bottle of Miss Dior so I had to ask someone for help as they don't keep it on the shelf. Enter Abigail. She got someone to help me with the bottle of perfume and also answered so many questions I had. I really had swollen eyes, and needed a quick fix. Abigail to the rescue--AGAIN! She showed me several products, advised me on how to use them and then listened to what I wanted most--a quick fix, not a long term commitment to my puffy eyes--they were from crying, not always that way. Thank you Abigail. I finally had my little shopping basket full and was ready to check out. She told me how many points I had accrued, didn't make me stand in the line and wait to pay and was such a helpful and sincere person. I like this specific location since its close to home. However, some of the employees seem unapproachable and kind of stuck up which makes it hard for me to approach them when I need help. It is very welcoming I could say that. I had a pick up order and a return to make the same day and the employee at the register just seemed so done. I understsnd that me coming 30 minutes before was my fault on my end since theres a two hour window for pick up orders but it does not take four hours to complete one order. Plus I was the only one there that was doing a pick up order. I only bought four items. When she handed me my order she completely forgot about my return and was like "have a nice day!" Had to remind her that I had to make a return for the third time. Extremely bad customer service, no one is willing to help and they move you around from one BA to another BA. They are just not interested to work. During their duty they do their own shopping. It was the worse experience. I am a long time Sephora customer level rouge and I have never been treated so poorly at one of their locations before. My sister and I were followed around the store. I thought okay maybe a one off. There was a sale for select items per day. This time the sign said a specific brand. So we went over to that area and got a couple items. When we went in line we were the first ones there and we were taken to a different part of the store to pay. No explanation nothing. Just told to follow the person. When we asked why. This is the absolute WORST Sephora I've ever been to. Every time I come to this store the line is super LONG with only ONE employee at the register. Meanwhile there's 4-5 other employees walking around, I understand they're there to help shoppers but some consideration for the customers in a HUGE, long, inconvenient line would be nice It can take 10-20+ minutes just to buy one product. The other day I came here to make a return and had to wait in the excessively long line which was made LONGER bcus the ONLY cashier was selling/promoting products off to the side for 5+ minutes instead of attending to the line that had over 20+ people waiting in it. From a professional stand point he/she/they should've asked the ladies to move to the side while they continue shopping so they could help the READY people in line. I've never seen a cashier encourage the 1st person in the huge line to buy MORE new not in hand products from nearby shelves and swatch and smell and SHOP while holding up the entire PURCHASE LINE. It was so INCONSIDERATE. Everyone in line had very upset faces with good reason. Anyway a new girl finally opened up a new register 20+ minutes in, I was happy to finally be helped. Until the girl made a snarky comment to the other employee to "look at this box. She didn't use it" as if to say I used the product that was ENTIRELY FULL like umm wtf??? This is the WORST Sephora I've ever been too. Right after being greeted walking into the store, the manager questioned why we were even returning our items. It seemed like a silly joke at first so we answered that the items didn't work out for us (we don't owe anyone an explanation) and they proceeded to ask "why?" about three times after that initial question. After that, the manager asks, "Why returns? Why not exchanges? You guys are killing us with these returns." Obviously, the goal here was to make us feel awkward and uncomfortable by putting us on the spot but we literally do not AND should not care. There is absolutely nothing wrong with returning beauty products especially if you try something out and don't like it. Why shame your customers for trying to return? What's the point in doing that? Anyways, a couple days ago, my sister bought the Dior blush during the Sephora sale but got the wrong color which is why we went in again today so that she could exchange it for the correct one. When at the register, the person ringing her up said my sister owes $40. My sister then said that she was just trying to do a one-for-one exchange and was confused on why she would have to pay $40 when she could just easily exchange it. This employee then asked a coworker for help and this coworker said that because the new blush my sister is trying to buy is a different brand, my sister would have to just return and repurchase it but it was LITERALLY the same Dior blush just a different shade??? After they were all confused, they called over that same manager who greeted us at the front to come help at the register. As the manager walked over, they made ANOTHER comment: "Oh look here's the returner!" loudly enough for people around to hear it. The manager then looked over and saw that the customer next to my sister was also returning items and says "OH! Two returners!" I believe this manager's name is Ciele I may be spelling it wrong but that is what my sister heard -- I didn't see the spelling. I've worked in retail twice before so of course I understand the frustration in returns hurting the sales for the day, but I have never gotten upset at my customers for making a return, let alone EXPRESS that frustration to them. I would hate to lose their loyalty/business or to make them feel bad for changing their mind about an item. Interrogating your customers as soon as they walk in will drive them away and also make them feel unwelcome. This isn't the first time I've had an unpleasant experience here. In fact, it's one of many I've just decided to write this review now after so many impolite and unhelpful interactions with the people that work here. Plus, this location is always ransacked and disgusting. The employees are extremely rude and dismissive -- they are constantly rolling their eyes at their customers. Some of them won't even check the back stock when you ask for a product (shocker). Don't work in customer service if you don't like your customers or if you don't being nice to people. I am beyond disgusted with the service I received at Sephora. I asked for help in the perfume aisle from the so-called manager, and I was treated like a freakin' light pole. I needed help getting an item, and this employee, who was already at the drawer where the perfume was, rudely said she was helping someone else and would be back. If you already know what you want or picking up an item then you're good. But if you're seeking to get assistance or help don't bother going to this location. I have been to this location many times and each time I see staff talking amongst each other rather than assisting the guest. When you try to ask them for help they looked annoyed, as if you're bothering them. I have been to many Sephora's and by far this is lacking costumer service, I wish I knew the young blonde haired Latina girl that helped me. She was horrible. I wanted to check out one of the newest Sephoras in the South Bay. Since I live so close to Great Mall, I'd figured I go to this location. Good thing I checked the mall's website for the exact location because I had no idea where the store was. I didn't want to walk around in circles looking for it. This store is located by Chipotle and Columbia. So best to go through entrance 2 if you don't want to walk around the mall. I went in knowing what I wanted so I had no intention of spending my day at Great Mall. I absolutely love going in to a store with less people lol! I came in probably half an hour after they opened. An associate came by asking if I needed help, which is expected and I politely said no because I knew what I wanted to get. I noticed that this location carries some brands that others don't which is awesome! The testers are not to be used by customers for safety and sanitation reasons. However, I did notice that some testers primarily lipsticks, were used and scraped off. Overall, I like this Sephora. It looks bigger than the Oakridge location but smaller than the Valley Fair location. Staff were nice, courteous and very helpful. read more

The reason why I'm giving 3 stars is simply because of a confusion of return policies. I purchased items online & payed with Klarna. When I tried to return in stores, I was told that I can only get store credit & not money back on my card. Just based off the return policies I read on Sephora about Klarna, I was suppose to be able to get my money directly back onto a card of my choosing. I called customer service to confirm too and they said I should've been given money back vs store credit. I mean, it's fine since I shop here all the time but kind of makes you feel a little deceived?? I was in the area and decided to buy some new powder foundation. The first time I went I met a sweet lady (forgot to catch her name) and she color matched me and found the perfect product for me. What I love about them is that they really recommend what's best for your skin. The second time I went, I went for a liquid foundation and Samuel helped me. He is so on point for a color match and again he recommended me amazing products for my rosacea skin. I ended up buying foundation, setting powder and setting spray. ( all of which I love using now) The third time I went I was looking for tinted moisturizer and again was helped by Samuel. I wish I just went to the Sephora in San Jose. I came in today with my mom to get a sample of the Nars Light Reflecting foundation after suffering an allergy from Huda Beauty Faux Filter. I returned it at a Sephora in Jcpenny that didn't have the Nars foundation I needed to try. I went straight to the Nars section and grabbed my shade along with a Charlotte tillbury foundation that caught my eye. I grab both bottles and approach the guy who's sitting at the station. "Hi! Sorry if you're busy but can I please have a sample of these two foundations?" "Yes after I clean my stuff" in a really monotone almost bored tone. There was an awkward silence because I could tell that I annoyed him. "Oh uh can I leave these foundations here then?" Leaving them on the station. He sighs then says yes. I walk my mom over to BITE and she swatches lipsticks to choose one because they were having a sale. I walk over to perfumes and noticed they had two mini Jo Malone perfumes. I couldn't find the Nectarine Blossom scent and a girl approached me. "Can I help you?" "Do you have the Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom Perfume?" She took a quick glance "as you can tell we don't have it." And rushed off. Do they not offer to order it online when it's not in stock in store? I finally grabbed my mom after she chose a lipstick and have her put it back. We left and the same girl who approached me at perfume awkwardly watched us leave without saying anything. I ended up making the drive to San Jose and got the lipsticks and my perfume without and problem. I told them about the experience I just had and they apologized profusely and threw in extra samples.
