I love Korean beauty and this store is near me. Some of the prices are higher but sometimes I like to try the product testers before I buy. I found a good medicube face sheet mask and I got a face shop eyeshadow stick. Will come back here, plenty of parking in the lot too! They are more helpful and friendly at this location than the Valley Fair one. The two young women were nice and one helped me pick out the eyeshadow stick color when I swatched the eyeshadow stick tester. They had a wide variety of lipsticks, which I love. I didn't buy one this time because I have too many already. But I like that they carry Peripera. Lots of velvet lip sticks, which is my favorite. I'm happy to see the Face Shop location is still in Milpitas. It's located inside the Seafood City marketplace. The shop is bright and well organized. They always have deals on their face masks and they are quite are bargain. One brand you buy 10 and you get 10 free and the other brand you buy 10 and get 5 free. The latter one I tried that brand and liked it so I bought on that deal. Their mask gives a more natural feeling of cleanliness and moisture. I don't feel or smell it to be chemically. Besides the face masks I bought, I decided to buy the History of Whoo's brightening lotion. I enjoy smelling the ginger from that one, and I haven't forgotten about it. If you haven't been to the Face Shop, come check it out. It is the leading Korean brand of skin care that has KPop boys and actors advertising. This place is amazing (located inside the grand century mall- go in the big doors, at the music store make a left and then a right). I think this store is a little bigger and a little more organized than the Santa Clara one. The service was exceptional! The worker was so helpful, and was willing to show me and explain to me anything I wanted (her name is Annie). She explained the process of putting on makeups and what to and not to do; which was so helpful! I ended up buying a bunch of stuff; with a bunch more that I would like to get the next time I am in. I wanted to change my review here for some many reasons and it makes me very sad that this place doesn't meet up to my par anymore. And I change it for two reasons. 1) They are now one of those shops that when you go in, they follow you around the store. I went into the store to look around, I saw they had a bundle of masks the other time I stop by but I never got it, and I just want to see if they have it anymore, so I walk in, the cashier said hi, I said hi back, and then after looking around with my boyfriend, she was following me around the store, like every step I took she took another step next to me, she didn't even ask me if I need help either and I really didn't I just wanted to look you know. It really distracted me from my shopping because I was really bothered. And this happened to me already 3 times in this shop. 2) They lied basically on their return policies, so they said before 7 days, you can return the item. So I bought a product there for my sister, and it happened to be the wrong product and I've been busy so on the 6th day of the return policy, I tried to return it, and the manager of the face shop had to deal with me, and she basically got mad at me for trying to return the product. She told me, she will take it this time, but not to return any items anymore even though they had the 7 day policy because she said she doesn't know what I did with it, like if I used it or something, which made me angry because the wrapping was still on the product. And I confronted her and told her that they even said on their receipt there is a 7 day policy and she literally did not take my crap and basically told me no more. I like how the new staff was just chatting and not watching me like a hawk as I was browsing. They have a buy 5 masks get 5 FREE!!!!! So I pretty much paid $16 and got $16 worth of free masks! i had the worst experience ever here today! so i came in to try/purchase their BB cream. as i walked in, i asked her to point me in the right direction. she walks over...shows me the shelf full of BB cream. from left to right, was the price range of HIGHEST TO LOWEST. The Face Shop just opened up in the Grand Century Mall. I was hesitant at first, because the mall isn't really known for anything great besides some of the food. After hearing a lot of great things about their store on El Camino Real, I decided to check them out anyway. I came into the brightly lit store and was greeted by several beautiful faces. Right away, I felt at ease. If their employees had great skin, I'm sure their products are great too, right? Well, they are! The Face Shop's staff use a lot of the products that they sell and their skins were literally glowing! All of the products in the store are imported directly from Korea. I bought several paper masks for less than $10. There was some deal, I think it was buy five and get two free? Something like that. I also bought several serums and cleansers. What I really liked about The Face Shop is that they carry a wide range of products with different price points. They have items that cost less than $5 and other products that are almost $100. Sometimes if the brands at Sephora or MAC is too heavy for you but you don't want to spend a fortune on organic brands such as Bare Escentuals or Bare Minerals, come to The Face Shop! Tried Products: BB Cream Natural Beige (purple box), Aquatic BB Cream Natural Beige (blue box), concealer stick, powder, foundation brush, liquid lipstick, eyebrow filler, eyeshadow kits. I only use BB Cream foundation after researching its many benefits and feeling how light it was on my skin. First of all, it provides full coverage without the heavy cakey-ness. BB Cream is also SPF based and a lightener as well. I am Viet-Am and my skin color is pale with yellow undertones (like many Asian females). The natural beige is perfect for lightening my skin without looking ghastly like Michael Jackson. I would definitely recommend giving BB Cream a try if you've tried liquid or powder foundation but are uncomfortable or dissatisfied with the results. Other products that I appreciate are their concealer sticks, powder, and eyebrow filler. I use them regularly when I apply makeup. Their selections for different colors/skin tones are limited on hand, so ask if they have multiple kinds before you commit. Concealer sticks can run from $7-$10, powders are around $10-$15+, and eyebrow filler was actually $15! It works great but a little pricey. Service is fine as most of the ladies are very nice and accommodating and honestly it must be difficult working in a retail job, let alone at an Asian location ha. This place recently opened in Grand Century Mall, which is a Vietnamese shopping mall. I really wanted to love this place after hearing so many great things about the "The Face Shop". If you love skincare and Asian cosmetics, you will most likely enjoy this place. The store is is very nicely put together and decorated. Although , it may seem a little crammed. All their products are nicely displayed and featured. Since it is a Korean chain store, they play Korean music. The lighting is super bright, but I mean that's how you get a clear visual of how the products look like. To be honest, I don't like the atmosphere of this place. It has a strange aura (kind of awkward, like someone is staring at you) ... hahaha! I feel like I'm being followed everywhere around the store! Don't get me wrong though, they have great customer service.The workers are super nice, welcoming and helpful! They greet every time you walk into the store. The products in the store are great, but some of them are on the pricier side. They have great variety from facial wash, masks, makeup, bb creams, moisturizers, cleansing wipes and much more skincare needed essentials. They also have a great deal on their masks (buy 5, get 2 free!). For my first visit, I purchased some face masks (definitely jumped up on the deal!), Green Tea Gomage (great for removing blackheads & unclogging your pores around your nose area, I love it!), Mung Beans foam facial wash (this was recommended by the worker, it works for all skin types & has a very pleasant smell), and a pack of Herb Day cleansing wipes (it smells amazing and works great!) In my second visit, I purchased a waterproof eyeliner which is amazing (has cute packaging). It stays on and lasts all day! I would recommend all the products I bought to all of you. I checked this place out once I found out from one of the Face Shop employees in Santa Clara that they just opened a Face Shop at the Grand Century Mall in San Jose. It's located right across from Thai Lovers/ Food Court. It's a cute, small and clean store with lots of Face Shop products in stock. The saleswoman also said that they just ordered more products from Korea and they should have more products in stock soon. She also told me that their grand opening is April 1st and currently they are just doing a Pre-opening sale so they know what products are popular in this area. There is also a special event on March 18th about cleansing. Today I bought Raspberry Roots eye gel, Flebeaute Collegen BB Cream (they have many different types of BB creams) and some gel masks (which are a promotion item right now till the end of March [buy 3 get 3 free]! She was totally chill and helped me out at picking the right cleanser that worked for my acne. And guess what? She was right. She helped me make the right choice. She was so nice that she gave me this sample of sunscreen! I forgot her name but she is super awesome!!!!!! I was surprised to find the Face Shop in the Vietnamese Mall. Any shop that is not a jewelry, dentist office, or cheap collectibles store is a shock. Where are all the kids the shop keeper is babysitting while they are at work? The Face Shop stands out like the squeaky clean kid standing on the edge of a mud fight. Linus vs. Pigpen. This particular store has a very limited selection. I have gone twice looking for the same product-- the charcoal pore strips... or any pore strips for that matter. I know these strips sell very well at the other Face Shops, and they are always prominently advertised on the shelves. This store has failed to merchandise or order the pore strips over the course of my first and previous visit...about 1+ months? Service experience thus far has been un-engaging. It is odd to me when the associate simply shows you where something is, and does not probe for more-- particularly in the world of cosmetics where upselling is everything. Perhaps limited product knowledge? Not sure, but I was unimpressed at this location. If you live closer to the Santa Clara location in the Korean mall, I would recommend going there-- there is a larger selection, associates are knowledgeable, and I often get little goodies when I make a purchase. There's actually a location closer to home, but I couldn't resist stopping by since it was conveniently located near Grand Century Mall's food court. The store is well-organized and carries a range of cosmetics and skincare products made by the well-known Korean brand. I stocked up on one-to-three-dollar face masks, lip gloss (eight bucks), an eyebrow pencil (four bucks), and liquid eyeliner (twelve bucks). Everything was way more affordable than I expected considering The Face Shop's fame and celebrity promotions. The skincare lines are all grouped together, and the sales staff seem well-versed in the different skincare options. I was particularly impressed by how helpful and nice the salesperson who assisted me was. If I couldn't locate an item, she made sure to find it for me. She also answered my cousin's questions about their options for acne-prone skin very patiently. The store is bright and inviting with all their shiny new products displayed. It's similar to Sephora but w/o the throng of ppl milling about. A friend wanted to try some Korean products (and so did I b/c every Korean girl I've met seems to have great skin), so we went there. I notice that most of the products aren't very precise in their description of how they will benefit your skin. I'm talking about the English translation; the Korean explanations may be clearer. However, I love the way the products are packaged. Each cream I tested were also very light -- which is a deep contrast to European and American creams, which tend to be thicker. There was even a brightening cream there -- a very Asian aspect of skincare. We initially wanted to try the BB cream. I checked out some of the testers, but was hesitant to buy b/c they had very few color options. Each brand had ONLY ONE color -- and it was a very light beige. At least American brands had a variety of shades from which you can choose. I think they have a universal light color b/c light skin is preferred in Asian cultures. Anyway, I tested the only one generic light beige shade they had, and it came out extremely light on my hand. However, it did blend well, but I don't know how it will look on my face, and I did not buy it. I also noticed the level of coverage was too thick; I prefer light coverage that enhances. The sales girl told me that Asian BB cream is designed to cover. Thus, I don't think it's for me. My friend and I ended up buying some face masks and a jar of anti-aging cream. (She is concerned about anti-aging. :P) I have faith in the products, so we'll see how they work. read more

I love this place and I love all the Asian facial products (and hair products too!) they carry. I can't speak much for their make-up since I use more American brands, but I adore the huge variety of facial products they have. They have face masks for.. well, everything! Whether it's for hydrating your skin, or to brighten it, there are tons of masks for everything. They also have bottled masks, not just masks in packets. Granted that the prices aren't exactly cheap, it's not really a price that surprises you either. After all, where are you going to find so many face masks types and scents? The variety alone and the uniqueness of the brand (that it's more natural than most other products) and the fact that it's an Asian brand constitutes the cost (I mean seriously, look at Shiseido, this stuff isn't even as expensive compared to some of their single products). So yes, this stuff isn't cheap, but it isn't something to knock down the quality of this store. It's up to you as a buyer to evaluate the quality of the product and make the decision to either afford it or look for a different, more affordable brand. One of problem with some products however, is that some don't even have English labels in the back to explain the function and how to use the product. The store, like many have said, is very clean and bright. If the huge Kim HyunJoong stand didn't invite you in, the inviting atmosphere will. In terms of my experiences here, I've enjoyed it 80% of the time. There are always really nice cashier that will give you tons of free samples and is very willing to answer your questions regarding the products. However, I have been treated very rudely before and that's the reason for the 3, instead of 4 stars. Some of the cashiers aren't very welcoming, some blatantly gave me rude looks as if I didn't have money to buy their products or something... If they can improve that, I wouldn't be discourage to enter the store more often. read more

I've gone to The Face Shop since their pre-grand opening days and have met many different employees. The ones I like best are Mimi and Annie. Both of them are quite helpful and know what they are talking about, though I'm sad to hear that Mimi is not working in this store anymore. Hailey and Jin are also nice and helpful! I recently saw two other employees - Joan and Catherine. Catherine was nice to add the points for a previous purchase I did at the store because Joan told me to bring back my card on my next purchase, but Annie told me that the associate could have searched up my number on their computer. Because of this, I don't feel too positive about Joan. The store is quite chic and clean. Every time I come here, I never see it cluttered with merchandise. It can be a bit intimidating when it's just me and an associate there. I really enjoy using The Face Shop's products. They are natural and show results quickly. I bought a BB cream from here (Face It Oil Cut) and it reduced my acne the next day after! Unfortunately, I don't use it often, so I don't think the results are as good as it could be. I like The Face Shop products. I was disappointed that the prices have gone up since my last visit. This location has more items in stock then the one in Santa Clara on El Camino. My biggest complaint about this place is the overkill on 'CUSTOMER SERVICE" aka hoovering and following me around the store. I was the only customer in the store during my visit. Girl #1 asked if I needed any help, so let her know that I need some time looking around. Maybe 60 seconds later she asked me again. I picked out a facial cleanser and let her hold it for me. She didn't even put it on the register counter but carried it in her hands as she shadowed me around the store. I don't understand how you can "loose" a membership. I buy face shop products on a regular basis, however regular makeup and cosmetic purchase can be. I love the faceshop and korean products but I have a such a negative feeling towards this specific store in the grand century! Most of the time they hardly can give me a recommendation and they follow me around like I'm about to take something! They either skim on the sample or they don't give me any thing at all. It's so disappointing. They customer service here needs to step up their game. They don't greet you, they don't tell me what's new, and they don't know much about the product. ..... so what's the point? !?! Ughhh, I'm just so pissed off about my membership. She didn't even try to look it up and told me this happens all the time that the system updates and drops people. How can you say that and be okay with it. My friends and I went to Grand Century for Thai Food. I stopped by the store to check out the store. I was greeted by a female worker with yellow/golden blonde hair(Hailey??). She looks really cute and has really nice skin. She helped me choose out a BB cream, which works so well on my skin and a few other skin care products. I've been using the skin care products she recommended for 2 weeks now and I see a big difference. She also share her skin care tips/make up routine to me which I thought was super kind of her. The sales girl there was so friendly and informative. She was so helpful and OMG was her skin so nice! The guy at the register who rang me up was as well friendly and told me how to use my face mask. I bought the face mask which they had a special buy 5 get 2 free and a gift set at a great promotional Mother's day deal. I've been using the promegranate face wash for a while and love it. I can't wait to try out these products. Koreans got great skin so I wouldn't doubt their products. Plus these are all natural. read more
