I had a horrible experience yesterday. I've been here several times before, but this was by far the…read moreworst pedicure I have ever received. It seems like the salon may have been testing out a new employee on paying customers, and that is completely unacceptable. If you are going to train or test a new person, that should be done on staff members, not customers who are paying full price for a professional service. The pedicure was not done as described on the menu for the service I selected. When I got home, I noticed I still had a lot of dead skin on my feet, which should have been removed during the pedicure. On top of that, the nail polish application looked terrible. The whole service took two hours, which is way too long for a pedicure. It was obvious something was wrong, and the managers were walking around the entire time. I do not understand why no one stepped in to check on the situation or correct it before I had to bring it to their attention myself. I told the manager the service was unacceptable. The amount of time it took, the poor polish application, and the fact that I was still charged regular price made the whole experience even worse. Manager then had someone else correct polish. Customers should not be used to train new employees while still being expected to pay full price. It is unfair and unprofessional.

My aunt surprised me with a visit and treated me to get my nails done, so, I thought, why not get a full set for once. I read the glowing reviews online and saw Dalyna's name mentioned in each one. i was impressed with her photographed work, so I decided to book with her. She is truly an artist. I went in with a picture from pinterest, i wanted it exactly how it was in the photo and she delivered way above that. She got the nail length perfect, the colors, the nail art. i love the way she did nails more than the photo i brought in! she was quick, but she didn't rush her work. i was incredibly impressed with how she cared for my nail beds, and made sure it looked natural. that has always been my biggest worry with acrylic nails, and what turned me off for a decade. it's very difficult to get them to look natural, she didn't leave it on too thick!! the place itself smelled good, not too much like acetone (this has given me headaches at other salons!) and they offered complimentary mimosas (with the champagne poured with a heavy hand, i might add). The ambiance was chic, the staff friendly and professional. I will be coming back for my refill! i also thought it was endearing that Dalyna's coworkers came by to look at her work while she did my nails, showing appreciation and support for her art.

I started coming to this place because of a lady who not only did great work, but was very sweet and kind to me. Today I had the worst experience I've ever had as customer at any nail salon I've been to. The nail technician, My (is her name), was so rude to me after me expressing my dislike of the nail design I asked her for. I asked if there was something else more simpler would could try she told me "no" and that I "wasted her time" Then she asked "you pay for what if I take it off" I said "money isn't the issue for me I'll pay whatever but this isn't something I like." And showed her another photo of something simpler we could do instead. She agreed. And tried to make me choose the color SHE wanted me to do. I asked if they had other colors for me to choose from she said "no" and I kept asking "what do you mean no?" Then after telling me no 3x that I could not choose the color I wanted to choose from my chrome she then goes to get the chrome color choices I've been asking for and hands them to me. After she hands the to me she immediately tell me to "leave and go somewhere else" I asked "so you don't want to do my nails anymore?" She said "no. If you know someone else somewhere else go to them." I have never in my yearssss of getting my nails done experienced this type of disrespect. Especially as a paying customer who told her that money wasn't an issue and that we could do something simple on my nails that made her feel more comfortable. They have forever lost my business. Customer service is everything.

I'm a long time customer of Nails by Kim and although I'm down for people leaving a review about…read moretheir experiences as a consumer, it's difficult to read a negative review that you know is for another salon. It's also difficult to read someone say they are black and was treated differently, because it's a very serious accusation. So I personally want to focus on just those two reviews. Let me start off by saying all my comments are my comments and the truth as I know it. I've been going to Nails by Kim for over 5 years and was looking at the negative reviews. I just couldn't believe seeing the negative reviews. Then I noticed that one said a guy named Ben worked there and the salon was under new management...loll...that is the other salon in the same shopping center that's right across the way. There's no one named Ben who has ever worked at Nails by Kim that has ever been there in my past five years of service received there and Nails by Kim has never been under new management since I've been going there. I'm really not understanding why the young lady would say if you're black don't go there, because she was told they weren't going to be able to do her nails that day due to pre scheduled appointments by other consumers. That's normal business practice and sometimes that happens. Even I've come in there on several occasions without scheduling an appointment and was told their slots were full by people who have appointments and I need to come back another day or schedule an appointment. I promise you, it is Not discrimination. It Is a normal business practice. It's a small salon. Long time customers like myself, keep coming back; we know how kind and professional the ladies are. We set appointments to get our nails done. So it may appear that no one is waiting, but I can comment for sure that those time slots are filled if they say it's filled. My personal experience is that my nails last a long time until the next time I need to redo it. I'm impressed that I can show a picture of how I want my nails to look and they are able to do it. No place is perfect, but I've never had a complaint to this point.
