I've been coming here for exactly a year now for nails/pedicures/eyebrows and have never had a bad experience. The best part is that since I'm a runner, I can tell whomever is doing my pedicure that I run and to be mindful with the callouses on my feet and they are. Traumatizing Experience - Rude, Unprofessional, and Disrespectful I've never written a review like this before, but what happened at Seven Star Nails deserves to be known. My daughter and I were treated with unbelievable disrespect, and I left feeling humiliated and deeply upset. Two weeks ago, my daughter and her friend--both high schoolers--had 4:00 PM appointments to get their nails and toes done for prom. Despite being on time, they waited for hours and didn't finish until after 8:00 PM, even though the salon closes at 7:00. Her toes were rushed and smeared, so I called and was told to bring her back for a fix--which we did. Today (5/23), we returned because my daughter wanted a fresh set for graduation in her school colors. She showed the technician a picture of a beach-themed, baby blue design and was quoted $120, which we agreed to. While the technician started, I went to get my pedicure and then sat across from her for my own nails. Suddenly, a woman with a short bob haircut--who seemed to be the manager or owner--started yelling in Vietnamese. I then heard her say loudly in English, "Charge her the same price because she's wasting time." This was shocking and completely uncalled for. I calmly asked what was going on, and my daughter told me the technician had used silver instead of the baby blue she asked for. My daughter did speak up, but the technician insisted it was the right color. Eventually, she repainted the nails--but the damage to the atmosphere was done. Then came the design. After drawing the first one, the technician asked my daughter if she liked it, and my daughter politely said the design overlapped too far into the tips. Instead of fixing it calmly, the technician got frustrated, wiped off the design, and said, "You're wasting my time. There's no pleasing you." She then refused to continue and asked another tech to take over. At this point, the woman with the bob haircut started screaming again in Vietnamese. When she came close to me, I told her, "You don't need to yell at my daughter. She did tell the technician the color was wrong." Her response? She raised her voice even louder and shouted, "I know what kind of people you are! You came last time to get something for free! They didn't wait for hours--I have the camera! You only listen to your daughter!" I calmly explained, "We came back because the polish on her toes was smudged." Then, she yelled at the technician (who had just started working on my daughter's nails) to stop. In front of us, she said in English: "You've worked in this field for so long. You know these people only complain to get free stuff." The technician told us he couldn't continue and backed away. I called my friend who recommended this salon, and she could hear the woman screaming in the background. I couldn't even have a conversation because the woman kept shouting, making disrespectful and rude remarks to both of us. When we got up to pay, she ran over and locked the doors--then continued yelling in Vietnamese the entire time. We were charged $75 for what little had been done. After I paid for both mine and my daughter's services, she finally opened the door to let us leave. My daughter had the presence of mind to record the encounter, so we have proof of what happened. I've never been treated this way in a place of business. It was hostile, aggressive, and I truly believe the woman's attitude was rooted in prejudice. I gave this salon a second chance, hoping the first experience was a fluke--but I should've trusted my gut. After I shared what happened with my group chat, several women said they had similar bad experiences unless they specifically asked for Ben or Nick. Most of them said they never returned--and now, after what they heard, they definitely won't. This is no way to treat paying customers. I will never return and strongly urge others to think twice before supporting a business that treats people like this! read more

I asked for a pedicure and I did not ask for shellac on ANY of my toes. I was relaxing when she snuck it on. When I went to the register to pay, they charged me for it. And I asked her why was bill so high, she said because of shelllac on all toes. I asked why did she do that without asking me if I wanted that? She responded that I already had shellac on my toes and she removed it, which was a disrespectful and blatant lie! I NEVER wear shallac on my toes!! She blatantly lied in my face in front of everyone. I asked her to remove it...she refused saying I would have to soak my toes in acrylic...well she didn't soak them when I came in so how the heck did I have acrylic prior??!! All LIES!!. Further, she was friendly to everybody else in there, but not me when I walked in. Energy was off at outset and my biggest regret was that I should have made a u-turn to exit before I decided to sit down. I have to give a one star bc this is by far one of my worst nail jobs. The place was nice, staff friendly and I can't blame the entire shop for the one tech doing my nails buuuuttt for $35 it was a shitty refill and polish. I walked in with almond shaped nails and asked for coffin, she clearly gave me squared. Some of the nails on my right hand are shorter than my left. She also has a tendency to file them slanted. I pointed it out but she sighed heavily like she was tired of me correcting her before she was done. I mean i thought I was the one dishing out my money for the service ???? I have shellac so once u mess up it's pretty much game over. Instead she would try to fix the top coat with the layer of clear gel. My polish now has waves and ridges in it. I also washed them for about 5 minutes when she was done to try and clean them up a bit. I'm sorely disappointed bc they were so friendly when I walked in, I was hopeful this would be a good spot. So mad I can scream! I called In and made an appointment just to be told by my nail tech that she could not take me because she has a two o'clock after my arrival. After choosing a new nail tech and nail color I was then told I needed to find something else because it would take to long and the powder from my previous nail install would show through the nude I now wanted to apply. It took 2 hours for a manicure and pedicure, sitting in the supposedly massaging chairs I realized the chair was broken with those messaging ball things poking uncomfortably in my back. Then the power went out and the nail technician had to move me to do my toenail polish. The polish is so smudged you can see fingerprints in it. Then when I went to leave, dangerously in jeopardy of being late to my event they couldn't take any credit cards, I had to leave, find an atm and get cash. I'm not one to write a review on a place but from my experience I just had I thought maybe I should. The place is called 7 star nail so I thought okay 7 star they must be at least classy and have very good service. WRONG. The lady at the front was very sweet and welcoming but the lady I believe her name started with an S. Maybe Shannon. She sat at the very last table to the far left hand corner. I sat down and she did not speak to me she just started chipping away at my nails very roughly. You could tell she had a big attitude, it was all over her face. She kept huffing and puffing. When she finally got done taking off the old shellac she started on my cuticles and cut me several times and I thought about getting up and walking out because when I go get my nails done I don't want to sit in misery. I go to get my nails done at good places to relax. Anyways she started to put the base coat on she asked what color and I told her French shellac. She got up came back looked at me and said "you're gonna get your eyebrow done?" I told her no and she rolled her eyes and sucked her teeth and the rest of the time she never looked at me again. She rushed thru everything so fast I'm sure I was there for no more than 20 minutes. When she was done she said okay thanks and I was like okay. I got up went to pay and I definitely did not tip her. Hell the lady at the front desk talked to me more than she did. I don't recommend this nail place. The manager there needs to teach her customer service. I work at a major Houston hospital and if I had bad customer service like that I would be fired on the spot. Women want to feel relaxed at a nail salon not feel uncomfortable and rushed. P.S. $31 pedicure, so I guess you get what you pay for. The actually massage itself, was great. When it got to painting my toes... that's a whole different story. I picked red, for Valentine's Day. Even after screwing up the paint twice and trying to fix them with nail polish remover, the 3rd try she just left the paint that had gotten on my skin there.
