This was mine & my boyfriend's first time at this diner. We are visiting from out of town and Veronica made our experience so awesome! she recommended many great dishes and constantly checked on us to assure we were doing good. She went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable & had a great sense of urgency. The food was also delicious. We will definitely be back and hope to see Veronica again!! read more

I came in with high expectations after a few coworkers recommended I come here for lunch. Service was extremely slow and servers weren't very friendly. My server brought my water, walked away, and took close to 20 minutes for me to get her attention and take my order (they weren't that busy fyi). I was on my lunch break so I was unable to try the fried chicken that everybody recommended. I figured I'd order chicken strips and fries since almost half of my break had already passed at this point. The chicken strips tasted like they were frozen and store bought. They were flimsy and lacked flavor and my side of coleslaw tasted stale. The environment didn't feel warm and inviting for a new patron like myself. After watching their servers interact with customers for a while, it seemed like they mostly try to cater and please the regulars who eat there. I always try to find the positive in every dining experience, but I honestly did not enjoy my visit here. I don't think I will be coming back after this experience. After reading reviews from other unhappy customers, it seems like management's response to everything is an excuse. How can you repeatedly reply "thank you for your comment" and not apologize for the customer's inconvenience? Someone found a plastic bread tie in their food and no apology was issued to the customer, just the "ask us to remake it" spiel. We shouldn't have to "share our concerns" or ask to have food remade to begin with... read more

Cute place hidden in a business area. Friendly staff and comfy dining area. The pancakes were delicious and fluffy. The eggs were cooked good but I asked for crispy hash browns and they did not come crispy. The omelet was tiny and looked old. Large water down ice tea was good but they should leave the ice out of their pitchers. Good prices for what you get. read more

My wife and I were looking for a quiet place for brunch. This place is it. You sit with locals, great service and the food was wonderful. My wife had the 2+2+2 eggs, bacon and pancakes; I had the grilled Chicken Avocado Bacon sandwich. Delicious. read more

Really nice, East Coast feeling diner in a low-rise industrial setting. Family business, nice portions. Was a nice break from the resort hotel $50 breakfast. read more

My daughter and I went in for waffles. They had waffles on the menu but the waffle maker was broken. She ordered french toast instead and it was ok. The biscuits and gravy were ok too. Just an average breakfast. read more

Mediocre diner in Palm Springs. Ok food, the place seemed clean, and the service was good. The portions are a bit small for the charge.

I come here every time I stay at the Marriott Villas. CJS is the closest reasonably priced breakfast place and the food is pretty good. It's located in an industrial center. Parking is easy. The restaurant itself is a little divey diner, nothing special. Today I got the Polish Sausage and Eggs which came with hash brown and toast. I also ordered banana pecan pancakes which were good. Others at my table got the breakfast burrito and Corned Beef Hash and Eggs. Typical breakfast food at a good price. read more

I don't do a lot of reviews, but this place earned it. We were staying at the Marriott around the corner, and just tried this place by chance. We were pleasantly surprised by the friendly waitstaff and quality food. It's not 5 star gourmet. It is 5 star homestyle food. I had the corned beef hash with eggs, hash browns, and rye toast. Seriously good food that makes you want to come back! Next time I'm in the area, I will have to remember this gem! read more

Stopped here a couple of times for breakfast on my way to Arizona. It is absolutely worth the 5 minute drive from the freeway. Food & service is excellent, so glad I found it. read more

Service was horrible. I feel bad for the owner CJ. He was running around having to tend to everyone because his staff was unwilling in many cases. Food took forever... parties of two were seated at tables for six, etc. food was ok but not great. No plans to come back. read more

I know this....put a diner near working men and it better be good. So when I saw this place was surrounded by lots of 'blue collar' workplaces and it was busy....I was all in. Needless to say it did not disappoint! Very good breakfast and great prices. Also, they run a buy one get one free deal in the local magazines. I'd definitely go back! read more

Not really a traditional dinner like the name suggests but it is a nice breakfast spot with good food. Our server was very friendly and went over and above to help us out and answer our questions. read more

"There's a new Sheriff in town, name's Reggie Hammond!" It's not the easiest place to find. As a matter of fact, you downright gotta HUNT for it. But it's worth it!! OK, so as you all well know, I like breakfast. A LOT!! And I tend more toward the greasy spoon, reg'lar folks kinda place rather than the "Quail's egg omelet with Guinea Pig Chorizo and LeSeaur pea Guacamole" type of fare. Mongo want FOOD!!!! Well, neither of those is this place's style but I guarantee the service is very friendly and the food is damn good. The GF was satisfied as can be with her Banana/Pecan pancakes and I was as happy as a Pig in S**T with my corned beef hash. For ONCE, the eggs were done RIGHT!!! Waitress asked me "How do you want your eggs?" to which I replied "SCARY!!" I got a laugh out of her as she said she likes her eggs the same way.. No cellophane from a too hot grill, and the CBH came with just the right crust on its surface. Nice fresh fruit too!! Did I just land in "Munchkin Land"? Everybody was happy and laughing and I expected the "Lullabye League" to come tippy-toeing and singing up to our table only to be shouldered aside by the "Lollypop Guild".... I kept waiting for some ugly old Hag to drop in with her broom smoking and ruin the whole scene!! Really folks, this place has got the goods and is well enough off the beaten path to always have your table ready.. Try it, you'll LIKE it!!! They are open for Breaky & Lunch with the mist machine working outside and a real nice counter that looks like NO "Golf Joke" is too corney!! ~Singing~ "GOLF, hunnhh, good GAWD J'all! What is it GOOoood for?? Absolut'ly NUTTIN'!!" See ya there!! ~UPGRADING~ To 4 stars.. Just got done trying lunch here. Actually only "I" had lunch 'cuz the GF is having trouble getting past the Banana/Walnut pancakes, or as "She calls them, "A dose of happiness!". Of course, her eggs were picture perfect.. At any rate, "I" tried the Hot Turkey open face sandwich. I misunderstood the waitress, and the sandwich came smothered in mash'taters which I prefer on the side. No problemo and as I moved them to the side, I noticed they are REAL "New Red" potatoes done up fresh.. The spuds weren't the only thing fresh. The huge slabs of turkey ~gobbled~ as I cut my first bite, then "I" gobbled the rest of the sammich with hardly a word uttered from my all too verbose lips and without reserve. "Raylene", the very nice owner came over and chatted with us when we were recognized as "Yelpers", for the place was filled with "Cochella Yelpers" on their way to the festival. She thanked me for my Yelp and found some civilized conversation with the GF while I polished off my meal. Great place, great food, great folks... Sounds like a win/win situation to me.. read more

Just had a wonderful, unscheduled Mother's Day breakfast at CJ's. Dragged our feet on making a reservation so we opened up Yelp and were lucky enough to find this wonderful establishment. Great service and great food at a really affordable price. Had mimosas and coffee + a variety of delicious food. Julie took great care of us! read more

Dined here around noon on a weekday and somehow stayed a little over 2 hours because the service was terrible. An hour had passed, still hadn't gotten our food, and they tell us there was no more gravy for biscuits and gravy. So we wait another 30 minutes for a meal that essentially took 10-15 minutes tops to eat. At one point I asked a different waitress about our food and she blew me off and told me to find my waitress. Terrible service and the food was nothing special. Never coming here again nor do I recommend this garbage diner. read more

Food was OK. Service was excellent! Very classic small cafe feel. Grilled cheese wasn't melted. Breakfast burrito was good. Our server was very nice! read more

Had breakfast here this morning while staying at Desert Springs. A nice, simple breakfast place. I cleaned my plate of a chili cheese omelet. Others had a breakfast burrito, poached egg on biscuit with gravy and eggs Benedict. No one was dissatisfied! read more

I was really disgusted by the handling of the toast and food presentation line in the restaurant. The waitresses who handle the money and credit cards grab the bread right out of the bag without washing the hands or using gloves and put it in the toaster. They then grab it out of the toaster with bare hands and put it on the plate. This is a major health code violation and caused me to debate even eating the sub par salad I ordered. Not only that but one waitress rubbed her nose then proceeded to stick her hand in the bread bag. I would not recommend this place, and do recommend looking up their health code violations before eating there. read more

This is an excellent place for breakfast. Good food and service. Definitely recommend it

Good food and atmosphere. The omelets were delicious, hash browns tasted fresh and amazing. Really fast service. Definitely want to go back

Love having breakfast here whenever we are vacationing in the desert. Just a tip the monte cristo sandwhich and eggs Benedict are only served on the weekend. You must try them both with mimosas! They give you your own personal mini champagne bottle. read more

If I could lower on my stars, I would. July 4th, 2018, 12:32pm. Read all the reviews about great service and food. We pulled in for lunch. We were seated promptly, there were four tables with customers who were already eating. A nice man brought us waters and we reviewed the menu. Figured out what we wanted and sat waiting for a waitress. We waited and waited. Two waitresses on duty both behind the counter counting tips and messing with the computer. Two young ladies came in, the nice gent who poured us water seated them directly in the booth behind us. A full 18mins has passed, a young waitress passed us and goes to the table behind us asking if the ladies who just sat down, if they were ready or if they needed more time. By the way, this was the same waitress who seated us. That was enough for us, we got up and walked out. Seemed like you had to know someone to get service. Not sure why the lack of attention, maybe they have too much business and don't need to add to their success, either way won't be back. read more

Found this little diner while waiting for a conference to start. Not that busy at 8 AM. Got scrambled eggs. Laid back place, but prompt service. Spot on food and service. I'd go back again for it read more

I'd say this is a local type place given its setting in an industrial park. It is a typical diner/ breakfast cafe in ambience and menu. When we went I had pancakes and my wife had eggs and bacon so we did a basic breakfast thing. My pancakes were overdone and had a burnt taste. The bacon was very well done, pretty much burnt as well. The eggs were fine. Since there are plenty of options clos by we won't go back, said would guess that others might have a better meal so it might be worth a chance. read more

We like the outside patio. Inside, not so much. Foods very good.. love their Bagel and Lox breakfast. The fruit sides are always tasty. Fresh fruit. Never, taste moldy like at so many popular breakfast and lunch restaurants. read more

It was Saturday morning and there were no lines, and we were seated promptly. Reasonable price for breakfast, simple menu, nothing too fancy. Service was good. I ordered scrambled eggs, dry. Not only were they NOT dry, but they weren't even scrambled medium, and were very runny. I didn't notify the server of this, so they had no chance to correct it. I mentioned it after the meal (I ate everything anyway) and was assured that if we return, the server would make sure the eggs were cooked to order. Otherwise, a typical greasy spoon. read more

Great little diner in the desert! Clean and friendly atmosphere- the food was great- the service was excellent. Our waitress checked in with us repeatedly and kept our coffee cups full. This is a great little spot- the menu isn't overwhelmingly large which I like. The French toast was very good and they have an option to build your own omelet which my husband loved. We will be back for sure! read more

A real back in the day experience, with great customer service. The food was quick and delicious.

Great food, quick wait time even though they were packed. The owner personally came out to set up the silverware and chatted with us. The wait staff was very friendly and approachable! A hole in the wall nestled in a business park next to the Burrtec parking lot (hold your breath). The menu was standard and the prices were fair. The food quality was unremarkable and the waitress was a bit cheeky (I hate it when they take the order down wrong and then argue about it). All in all, it was Ok. Great atmosphere for the grandparents. read more
