I love that this diner is tucked away in a lil' industrial area off the strip. Mainly because there's not a line out the door like every other place in PS. The sweetest lady greeted us at the door and the place was packed on a Saturday morning. Everything looked delicious and the food was good, service was ehhhhh, our waitress not the friendliest, but hey, it could have been a bad morning for her. CJs was a wonderful place to stop for breakfast. Veronica was our server and was very quick to offer us one of the baked fresh muffins! My wife had eggs florentine and I had the all meat omelette. We both loved the country potatoes. Highly recommended. Staff was super quick with anything we needed. Although patio seating was the only thing available, I wouldn't have chosen inside! After reading reviews decided to try this place. We shared the cinnamon roll which was freshly made....so good. My husband had the chicken fried steak, said it was really tasty. Looking for a spot that has a diner feel that's not chain. We're in the right place, they only serve Monte Cristo and Eggs Florentine on weekends. Monte Cristo with strawberry jam, it was cut into 4 bite size mini sandwiches perfectly deep fried. Crusty and soft on the inside. The sweetness of the strawberry jam and saltiness of the melted cheese and turkey inside. I asked for sliced tomato as a side. It was really good. The Eggs Florentine Was missing the tomato and hollandaise sauce was bland and lacks the flavor. Service was good. read more

This was my 2nd trip to CJ's and it did not disappoint. First time sitting on the patio since the last time I was there it was mid-summer and really hot. Shaded, and the chirping birds just added to our enjoyment. The food was terrific - crispy around the edges corned beef hash with eggs cooked to perfection. I could see our server was taking notes regarding 'extra over easy eggs! Fruit on the side, and the options for your toast have to satisfy anyone's taste. Coffee cups were kept filled. This place was absolutely lovely. From NJ where diner culture is at its finest this place was perfect for casual breakfast with all the staples included. The food was fresh and delicious. The kitchen nailed all of our specifications. The staff was delightful. We went back twice. The gentleman heard that I have a *mild* coffee addiction and he kept my cup full on both days. Sometimes all you want is some good old-fashioned diner food and CJ's does it right. We each got a champagne split (which is just a single-person size serving bottle, lol I had to google it like a chump), and two breakfast entrees before starting our day in the beautiful Palm Springs. Let's start by saying I'm not picky, in general. CJ's diner managed to disappoint me. A lot. During my first visit. Nearly everything was bad, from distracted wait staff, to poorly made food, to the first two things I attempted to order were unavailable. On the plus side: the bus boy was good at getting me refills on my drinks, as the waitress was not present. The food is generic. But that's not the problem. The country potatoes were slightly burnt, and wet with grease. The entire sausage Benedict was almost flavourless, I was shocked at just how.bland it was. The service is glacial, unless you seem to be friends with someone. I sat down. Waited, another pair sat behind me and we're immediately served by the waitress and another staff member as they were friends, these guys got drinks, ate and left and their table was clear before I had received any food. They were almost done eating when I got drinks. Seriously... It took over an hour here and cost $30 to be severely dissapointed. Please note, this palace was not busy or loud when we got here. Only the booths were full... It wasn't a holiday or a special occasion.. just a Sunday at a diner. The tuna melt was good. Everything else was not. This place says it's the best kept secret in the desert, the poor quality was definitely a suprise. I will not be back. Elmer's is worth the drive. And you'll probably be done faster too, if my experience is any way normal. And to cap it off, when I made a complaint about the time and food being terrible, I was told by the waitress that I took a while to order... Maybe because of slow service? And apparently this restaurant doesn't have pepper jack cheese or soup before 11am. I tipped the bus boy, he was nice and attentive enough to keep my iced tea full... YES, The bus boy.. read more

The reason for the 1 star, was eggs were undercooked, soggy toast from too much butter, delivery of food was erratic, service was lackluster. Others may have said best in the desert, but definitely still average at best in my book. read more

I ordered from here for the first time on Monday. The food was decent, but then again I only got eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. I finished my food and was about to dig into my toast when I saw something moving. There was a disgusting piece of hair in my toast. I called and let them know, I provided my number & was told I would receive a call from the manager. It is now Wednesday and I have not receive a call. With the COVID-19 virus going around, we are still unsure if it is possible for us to pass/ catch the virus via hair. Regardless, this is disgusting and unacceptable. Hopefully this review will catch the attention of a manger and this will be taken seriously. read more

The best avocado toast signature in town !!! They do not have it in the menu , but VERONICA(i believe that's her name) would make sure to make the best avo toast for you ! Hubby and i love this spot, we discovered this summer and all the staff is very friendly and attentive. Alberto always make dure our coffee is filled. Also the plates never overlap on the table (i love that) this spot is the spot. They have a cozy patio and the menu is very extensive. Our entire family (16 total) came to spend the weekend with Grandma & Grandpa. We came to CJ's for Sunday brunch & loved the team of waitresses & helpers.
