Reviews were so-so but wanted to have my own opinion. Not good Bbq. Ordered pulled pork which was not close to hot. Lukewarm at best. There was no flavor. My guess is commercially made. I couldn't finish it even once I added sauce. There were multiple sauce options but the mustard based was my favorite. The sausage was good. Probably the best tasting meat option . My side of corn casserole was the best bite. My husband said the collard greens weren't bad. Since visiting the area, never have to worry about giving it a second chance. read more

Dine in | Lunch | $20-30 I dont normally take the time to leave negative reviews, but this was a stinker and I feel cheated out of my money: the food was not fresh, it was all reheated. The brisket was very dry and looks and tastes old. Portions were small despite the brisket costing extra. You get 4 small slices Sitting inside you get to listen to a very loud and annoying beeping everytime they use the microwave. Which is every meal. Half the pasta in the macncheese wasnt cooked. The tea tasted mouldy. Their "texas toast" is just a barely toasted hamburger bun. Their sauces werepretty good and there was a decenr variety. I would not eat here again and cant recommend it! Some of the worst food I have eaten in a very long time. I ended up throwing most of it out, and I never through away restaurant food. Place is clean. Staff was nice. I got the 2 meats and 2 sides and added a rib bone. The turkey is my favorite season well and juicy. I got the pulled chicken, which is very flavorful. I wanted to get the brisket but they do it up charge so I decided to try a red bone instead that was one of my disappointments. It's not as flavorful and seasoned as the rest of the proteins so instead of paying two dollars for a ribbon I should've just got the brisket The green beans are pretty good I'm surprisingly but mac & cheese is decent too. My other slight disappointment is the variety of barbecue sauces but I think that comes down to a preference thing I like mine is more tan than sweet so I'm usually a Carolina barbecue sauce girl they didn't have that but they did have more tangy vinegar sauce, but it's very thin . I also like that they do a hero discount because I am a firefighter so it's nice to be acknowledged . Overall, I would definitely come back here. read more

City BBQ is another one of those restaurants I have a love/hate relationship with. I have to agree with another review that stated they were great when they first opened, but have gone downhill as the time has passed. My first experience was an online order and I my food was not ready for an hour, even though I was quoted 28 minutes through the app. I sat for over 30 minutes in the parking spot and finally a worker coming back from her break asked me if I'd been helped yet. So, I decided on the drive through from there on out. I had a few good experiences through drive through. One where I get home and have to come back because items were missing. I come back through after calling to complain and no apology from the drive-through worker (who was the one who originally fudged the order), just a "here you go". So, this time I leave work to get there a little after 7p, let's say 7:10p. I now have become accustomed to asking what they have left, but usually closer to close which is 9p. This day I ask if they have brisket and they say no. The disappoint hit me. Mentally, I'm like, ...what? Why? You don't close for almost 2 hours. Why is a restaurant known for its brisket, out of brisket so early? They actually tried to cross sell me on ribs, but there's no pork on my fork. Who responsible for the amount of food prepped each day? Do they not care about losing the business? I pulled off and who knows if I'll be back. It's a toxic relationship. read more

Not going to go too much into this one. City BBQ is a chain as most would know. I have had good food their in the past. This last time was was just okay. I ordered the City Sampler. All meats were pretty tasty, but for 25 bucks, it was no doubt lacking in portion size. That's where most of this review comes from. I ordered hush puppies for a side. That was a mistake. They were the worst hush puppies I could imagine. I felt as though I was eating overcooked chalk. The mac and cheese is decent. I do like the cavatappi noodles (that's what I use in my own), and the sauce was creamy. Taste was a little off to me, but I wouldn't turn it down. Also got their spicy sauce. That stuff is awesome! Just got take out this time, so service was fine. Would I go again? Probably, but it won't be for a while. read more

The barbeque pork ribs and pulled pork sandwich were tough. Not the tenderest or best BBQ. You had to really use your teeth to bite into the pork ribs. The food is great! This establishment has been In Solon for a while now, but for some reason it just never even occurred to me to check out the location and I've been going there ever since I realized how much food you get on your ribs, their wings is incredible! The prices are very reasonable. The best part is that I can order a slab of ribs and have it wrapped and ready to go in a few minutes. Instead of having to drive to 'nearby cites when shave a taste for Down Home Cooking", where I am waiting 30 minutes 45 minutes in my car because the inside of that location is run down and totally not professional looking inside. Nor is there anywhere to sit, even if you wanted to sit inside and wait for your order. The city barbecue restaurant has inside and outside sitting, the music is very uplifting and relaxing and I am so looking forward to going there during this summer months and having a nice meal and a clean professional environment. The family and I went here to grab a bite to eat. Fast-casual restaurant.. I really wanted to try the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich, but alas, they were sold out for the day. So instead I tried the Chipotle BBQ sandwich which was a pork, brisket, rib meat sandwich on in a hot dog bun. It was rather tasty. I also love me some Collard Greens and some Hush Puppies. The greens were way over salted for my taste, and the hush puppies were crispy, tender, and delicious. Myself and the family loved the hush puppies. The wife's normal is the Turkey and she enjoyed that. The boy loves pulled chicken and was really blown away by it. I normally get a Meh, but I got he loved it. Service was quick and the food was good. The wife and son really loved the BBQ sauce, I thought it was meh :-). For my sauce I ordered the original bbq & mustard sauce. The mustard sauce was good, I didn't care much about the original bbq sauce. The baked beans were AMAZING it's a must have! Coleslaw was good! The food was good. The servers were nice! The turkey might have been the best roast turkey I've had in a restaurant. The smoke sausage was very tasty as well. Their pull pork and brisket were both very fatty. I think Mission Barbecue is better but this place is still pretty good. They also have individual ribs for $1.79 per bone on Tuesdays. read more

The Solon store never has food. I've been there between 5:30 and 7::00 at least 3 times and each time they had only a limited menu because they had run out of food. Met a friend for lunch. We both had seen some negative reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised. The pulled pork sandwich was excellent--tender and flavorful. The service was prompt and friendly. Finally received my order at 8:50... all while watching people walk in, order & receive their food before me. Food was ok. Basically room temp. Ribs didn't have much meat. Pulled pork had pieces of bone & gristle to pick out. Staff seemed friendly but no one seemed to have a sense of urgency. This place is clean and nice, I had half chicken, and the chicken was half cooked, the chicken had blood inside and I could even tear it with my fork, NOT GOOD. Bring a steak knife if you want to eat it, I asked for the manager and he ignored me, and just kept bullshitting with one of the workers, I did talk to someone else and she says that's how the chicken is all the time.
