My experience with Cimex began after my grandmother passed and upon settling her estate I…read morediscovered that she had bed bugs. Isis arrived and did a very brief walkthrough and said that my grandmother's home had a bad infestation of bed bugs and that they could treat the home. She then said that because I was planning on selling my grandmother's house, that the heating treatment for the bed bugs would be more effective if the house was emptied out first. I asked if they could also clear out the house and then also treat for bed bugs. She checks with her boss and says that they can do it. Isis then says that she will email me a quote that day. The next afternoon, I never received an email with the quote and had to call their office to remind them. They quoted me about $5700 to do everything. Isis calls me back later to schedule the movers to come to the house and I told her that time was urgent to get started on the house. She assures me that the moving process will take 1 day and that the bed bug heat treatment will take 2 days and that everything should be finished in 3 days. We ask if they could also take up the carpet as well and Isis says that she could find a company to do it for $350. I thought was pretty high, but reluctantly agreed. The movers arrived and started hauling stuff out of the house. But as the day progressed, Kevin (the bed bug guy on site that day) kept changing his answer as to when the house would be completely cleared out. It went from being a 1 day job, to now taking multiple days. The movers complained that they were tired and couldn't finish emptying out the house that day, despite Isis giving me a guarantee that the house would be cleared out in 1 day. The process now kept getting delayed since they wouldn't treat the house for bed bugs without it being empty first. The next day, the carpet guy was supposed to come and take out the carpet. I call and ask what's going on and learn that the carpet guy flaked and never showed up at all. Kevin tells me that he's just going to take up the carpet himself. The next day the house still isn't fully cleared out as only the first 2 floors were emptied but there were still items in the basement. Isis told me that on Saturday that she would have some more movers come by the house to finish clearing out the basement. Isis calls me Saturday saying that I don't need to stop by the house when the movers are there because my presence would slow them. She then said that the reason the movers weren't able to finish faster the 1st day was because my boyfriend and I were in the house while the moving process was happening! I told her that I was always going to be present when the movers were there bc I wanted to see everything that they would throw out and to also go through my grandmother's belongings. How dare she say that I was slowing down the movers when in reality she didn't plan accordingly. Then she changes her answer and tells me that she doesn't want me to waste my time spending all day at the house. I tell her again, that I am going to be at the house regardless when the new movers arrive. I go to the house since Isis tells me that movers will be arriving at noon. At noon, there are no movers and the carpet is still on the ground (despite them having said that they would remove it themselves). Isis arrives by herself. We ask about the carpet. They did pull it up the carpet but not the padding underneath. I ask her about this and she says, "I'm not going to do that because I'm not a carpenter." The $350 she quoted me was from a carpet removal company. It is not my fault that they flaked on you, but if you weren't going to do it and if you're not going to find another carpet company to do it, then I just wasted $350. I then ask her about moving the rest of the items out of the basement and she tells us that she is going to go to Home Depot and find day laborers since the movers quit on them! Then it all makes sense as to why she didn't want me to be there when the movers arrived, because there were no movers! Her plan to go to Home Depot and get some random people who don't specialize in moving to take out the rest of the items in the basement blew me mind. Later the "movers" arrive and start taking out things in the basement and dent my grandmother's back door when they took out a refrigerator. When I complained about it, Isis says it's just a "scratch." My problem with Cimex is that I get that they specialize in killing bed bugs and that they don't do house moves or carpet removal. However, don't tell me that you can do those things when you have no idea what you're doing. But they wanted to make a quick buck by making bogus claims. A process that was supposed to take only 3 days took a week. Extremely unprofessional company and I can't recommend this place to anyone who values their time or money.

Cimax Review. I was…read morea bit worried when I thought I may have bed bugs. I was looking for a exterminator that would both eliminate the problem in a timely manner and provide an ecologically friendly solution. Cimex K9 Bedbug proved not only to provide a solution that was quick but also through the heat treatment proved ecologically friendly. I was further impressed by the staff's professionalism, attention to detail, & eagerness to provide a thorough and comprehensive solution. I felt instant relief and the bites stopped immediately but as a frequent traveler, I received excellent advice to prevent against future infestations.

I cannot say enough about highland. We called the in for an inspection after discovering suspicious…read morebites. They helped us identify them so we could inform our building. Our building hired a company for the first two treatments. It was an incredibly traumatic experience that ended with us throwing a lot of stuff away, spending hours and hundreds on drying clothes/replacing bedding/etc. When we were done with our first two treatments with a different company, we had Highland come back in for an Aprehend preventative treatment and before we moved we had Julia and Raven (her BB pup) come in for an inspection. We also had highland pretreat our new house and furniture with Aprehend before we unpacked from the old apartment. Every single person we worked with was kind, professional, and understanding. My biggest thanks go out to Julia and Raven, but also to Deirdre and Nicole in the main office. Since the bed bugs I have been diagnosed with PTSD, which means I am now constantly on alert for anything suspicious. Strange stains, weird looking bugs, etc. They could have been making TONS of money off of me. Instead, they will inspect photos, explain why what is in the photo is most likely not bed bug related and offer an inspection if we would like one, but never pressure us if they believe there is is not a problem. It's like having a trained friend to tell you that everything will be ok. I know I can trust them and they will be out in a second to treat if they ever see anything suspicious, but they will never try to exploit the fact that I always assume the worst.

We've had great experiences with Highland Eco Pest Control…read more Trevor is seriously the best! He does monthly pest control for our condo and helps take care of the whole building--including a rat-infested alley and a basement that used to have a big rodent problem. Thanks to his consistency, things are under control. He's helped us with everything from mice and roaches to ants and even a surprise adolescent rat. He's super thorough--checks behind all the appliances, seals up holes behind molding we didn't even notice, and always explains what he's doing. He can quickly identify any pest we find and gives helpful tips to keep them from coming back. On top of that, he's super friendly, reliable, and always careful around our pets - a curious dog and our late cat. It's such a relief knowing he's looking out for our home. Highly recommend Trevor to anyone dealing with pests!
