Very unfortunate first time visiting Circa. We went at the strong recommendation of a friend, made a reservation, and were five minutes early. We proceeded to have to wait for 35 min for a table. This was after a table was open, a booth which was requested, but the manager told us he was intentionally holding it for someone else and we had to wait despite being there for 20 min ahead of the party behind us. The excuse we were given was that two tables would open at any minute and yet we did not sit down until 7:35. Then the management thought it was appropriate to offer us one free appetizer... sad that this was considered appropriate for a first time guest, celebrating a birthday...and even after further complaints they reluctantly and rather rudely offered something we did not even order. We will never be back and I will be sure to let everyone know to not expect much from Circa's management as they clearly don't know how to manage basic reservation flow nor how to make even the basic attempt to make repeat customers. read more

Went last month for the first time and will be back! We wanted to try several things so we stuck to the small plates. I could eat the pork belly every day. The brisket mac & cheese was plenty to share and we had leftovers. Just as good the following day! read more

One of my favorite restaurants for a special occasion. This is a destination restaurant. You've got to be a great restaurant to be successful in a location with ZERO natural traffic. Circa is located in what I guess you could call "downtown" Thompson Station. "Downtown" being 2-3 buildings - one of which is the old train station. Highly recommend the Bone-in Pork Chop - it's a regular on the menu. The menu changes with the seasons as many dishes utilize what is grown locally and in-season. Check out the Sunday brunch. WOW! We came here for a nicer family dinner and were not disappointed. We had reservations and we sat down right away. Our waitress was very attentive and gave great recommendations! My mother in law loved the old fashioned. The wine that I got was great as well. The waitress recommended the Cauliflower Cheesecake. It's not something we would usually order but it was incredible! Our entrees were amazing as well. Hot chicken was perfect, not too spicy, not too mild. The lamb Bolognese was incredible. All around such a great night! Thank you Circa! read more

Great food, better drinks. Unassuming location in Thompson Station, an obvious local favorite as reservations are highly recommended. Earlier is better so you don't feel stuffed into space as the restaurant has limited space. The wait staff are spot on; cordial and attentive ALWAYS. We have been here numerous times for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, and never disappointed. I consider myself a customer service snob; I expect quality and they deliver every time. There is definitely something to be said when many of the waitstaff gave been there for the four plus years we have been going. read more

Went for an early dinner on Saturday, our waitress was incredibly friendly & welcoming. Food was wonderful..lots of Gluten Free options clearly marked on the menu. We loved the charcuterie board, salmon and steak entrees..and the salted caramel popcorn crème brûlée was fantastic! read more

The food here is always good! The seared scallops and cauliflower risotto are to die for. Everyone I go with always tries the hot chicken and are never disappointed. We recently moved to the area from the east coast. We were honestly spoiled with great restaurants and low key family vibes but yet 1st class dining experiences all in one. We were on the hunt for a reoccurring go-to spot... We found it - the come as you are feeling was nailed. The food is absolutely amazing the management team and servers are wonderful. I've got reoccur good reservations and have taken all family members who have visited from all over US here and they've all said the same. "Amazing food with excellent service" we always leave with a smile on our face and each week we look forward to a 10/10 dining experience. Reservations made, arrived on time. The hostess walked right by us and didn't say one word. She was chatting with someone who she might have been training?? Anyway after she ignored us for a minute she finally acknowledged we were standing there and seated us. Our server was not impressive at all! It's our anniversary!! It was on the reservation!! We loved the cornbread and the pretzel app was delicious! We came for my birthday and had a great time. I got one of their specialty cocktails which was unique and delicious. Not my cup of tea. I was really excited to try this place but we waited for 20 minutes before someone took our drink order. Another 15 minutes went by without receiving the drink, so we left. They were not full. It was around 6:30 on a weeknight. The staff was kind but if it takes more than 35 minutes to get a drink then something is wrong. The people around us seem to be enjoying the food they were eating. The only other thing I would say is that I was expecting more of a fine dining ambience (dim lights with candles on the table) based on the description. But it felt more like a bar at closing time. This is a hidden gem located in Thompson's Station. They have a well thought out menu. The food is very good. The service has always been outstanding. It is an old building (possibly a house) that has been converted to an upscale restaurant. It sits across from the railroad. I haven't researched the history but the area seems to be an old train station location. I've visited multiple times for various meals (brunch and dinner). I would definitely recommend that they be added to your "must try" locations if you find yourself in the area. read more

I like Circa a lot and usually go every couple of months or so. The food is generally very good, service is professional and the staff is friendly and accommodating. So, I DO recommend it. If I were king, here's what I would improve. Perhaps on Friday and Saturday peak hours they could turn off the distracting TV sets featuring kickboxing and other unappetizing sweat sports. Just turn them off so we can enjoy the ambiance and converse without distraction. Secondly, I've often come back for the hot Nashville chicken sandwich and ordered it last night. It was still delicious, but the heat I'd come to love and expect was gone. Chick-fil-a now has a spicier chicken sandwich, and that just ain't right! Fix those two things and I'll be your friend as long as you're in business and go back to my usual five star rating. Thanks. read more

Circa has the best Southern food I have ever eaten. Seriously. This place is so authentic and has so many delicious options, I didn't know where to start. I highly recommend the Hot Chicken Sandwich, it's one of the best. I also have to give props to our waiter Chase, who was super friendly, accommodating and professional.
