Let's be honest--the building isn't much to look at, either inside or out. The decor is pretty basic, and the service was okay, nothing exceptional. But then the food arrives... and suddenly none of that matters. The salsa had just the right amount of spice and flavor. The chorizo and eggs were absolutely superb, and the enchiladas were amazing--easily some of the best I've had in a long time. This isn't the place for a romantic date night or a fancy dining experience. It's the kind of place you go when you want genuinely great food. If you're judging restaurants by what's on the plate rather than the decor, this place is a winner. Oh and the prices are unbelievable (good ) . I highly recommend it and will definitely be back. Stopped here for brunch while visiting the area. It's a small, casual restaurant with plenty of seating, and we were able to choose our table right away. I ordered the chorizo con huevos, which tasted homemade and authentic. My son's carne asada tacos were the highlight of the meal. The meat was flavorful and well seasoned. My mom ordered the chilaquiles and asked for her eggs to be cooked a little longer, and the server was happy to accommodate the request. One thing I didn't enjoy was the fountain soda. It had an odd taste, so I switched to a Jarritos instead. Also be aware that this restaurant is cash only, although they do have an ATM inside. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant but unfortunately, the service has gone down hill. I've been coming here for many years and I always bring people here. Today, I had the worst service there. I don't know the waitress and I didn't get her name. But when she came to drop off our food, she quickly left. I didn't get to ask for diced onions. I had to get up to ask her. She also charged me for an extra drink and I asked her about it... she said it was for my coke and a sprite I DID NOT ORDER. She proceeded to say "well, you drank it already" Ma'am... I'm not paying for something I did NOT order or asked for. Don't fight a customer for $3.50, just own up for your mistake and fix it. I forgot to set my clock back to 1970 before I placed my order here. I made a phone order and quickly left my apartment to walk over to the restaurant since my DeLorean was in the shop. I was immediately greeted by a patron enjoying her chips and salsa while the server behind the counter gave me a disappointing stare. The sign almost smacked me in the face when I walked in and remembered; CASH ONLY. I apologized profusely at the server who continued to stare at me without uttering a word. She managed to get a few words out after the third "I'm so sorry, do you have an ATM?" she said "No." but the patron interrupted and suggested the bank atm in the downtown area. This place is OK. I stumbled upon it because I just wanted fish tacos- since I live about two hours away from the area and nowhere close to the ocean, I was desperate in my search. Upon my search arrival, I observed this place to be very clean. Their menu is pretty large for the size of the place breakfast items. I was disappointed when they didn't have any ceviche or shrimp tacos, but I was able to get grilled fish tacos. I ordered two tacos, with no beans or rice, but that's essentially all I got: corn tortillas with grilled fish on them and a few scraps of cilantro . Their salsa wasn't spicy or flavorful at all, and I had to ask for some sour cream to add onto the tacos to give it some other sort of embellishment. I also had to use salt and pepper to spruce it up a bit, but once I did that, they were decent. Please note: This place is a cash only establishment. Please be aware that if you only have a credit card or your debit card, you'll have to use the ATM machine that charges $2.50 as a fee. read more

Our family usually comes to eat here after church. We've always loved the food here and our server is usually the same. Except for a sunday 2 weeks ago. I'm not sure if she's new but we've never seen her before. part of our party got there before and preordered the food while the rest of us were on the way. When we got there the person who ordered the food said it was a new girl, and the vibe was off. 1. Talking over her when ordering 2. When she repeated the order she got annoyed when she got asked to repeat it slowly, it was a specific order. we all had enchiladas but slightly different. When the food came out everything was mixed up. We told the server but all she said was "You told me it was this" when we clearly stated the order and had her confirm it, could even hardly hear her because of how fast she was talking. So she offered to change one plate and then returns to tell us she can't change either plate?!?! So absurd! You could even notice she was bothered but honestly it's disappointing we clearly stated what we wanted. She ended up changing one plate. But it wasn't even enjoyable because of the trouble the miscommunication caused. I don't know how this places policy works , but i'm a server at a restaurant and i'd 100x rather keep a customer happy than try to maneuver things my way. luckily it was a one time experience and it was the only time we ever saw her. my husband is a vegetarian and ordered chile rellenos. the waitress misheard and brought out chile verde. my husband told her this isn't what I ordered so she corrected it but when the bill came she said that the fact she misheard him was his fault and he had to pay for both. they also just wiped off the pork and gave him the same plate with a chile relleno on it, even though he doesn't eat meat. his mother lives next door and we used to go here at least once a week or so but we will never go back after today. they lost a long time customer. rude and the place was always a little gross to be honest. read more

So I visited a Job Fair at the Long Beach Convention Center and happen to stumble across this little gem. When I walked in there was only me and two other people. The vibes were nice and cozy. I was welcomed by the woman working and received some chips and salsa which was spicy ! I ordered the chicken enchilada and a mechilada. I'm not a beer drinker but besides beer that's all they had, and I must say it was very tasty. My plate came out super hot and fresh the enchiladas was really good, as well as the beans and rice.
