Shrimp Enchiladas and Fajitas. So damn yummy.
Ricky D.

Wanted to try this place out again and it was as tasty as I remembered. Had the shrimp enchiladas and Fajitas accompanied with Coronas and the classic Chips & Salsa because why not right. The staff are very friendly which made it a better experience. Recommend to anyone looking for yummy homey feel good Mexican food.

CASH ONLY! There's an ATM inside. Love this place, budget friendly, service always good and food is delicious. Ambiance can be top notch if you play your favorite songs on the music machine

Carne Asada Fríes

The food was good. My cheese was pully and perfect. The waitress was by herself but handling the entire place well on her own, amazing service. The ambience is lovely they play OG Mexican channels. 16.50 for Asada fries, Coca Cola, chips and Salsa. Good prices. Cash only ! They have an ATM

Great service and amazing food!!! It's cash only but they have an ATM. Big fan of their Carne Asada Fries. So cheesy and delicious, leaves you satisfied.

Juevos Rancheros

Starting off with their chips and salsa, that was spicy and tasty. I've only had breakfast here but the pancakes were like homemade buttermilk pancakes. Their juevos rancheros with the bean and cheese and rice was the best $10 and under meal I've had in Cali.

chorizo con huevos

one of my favorite spots for homey Mexican food !Gets busy around lunch time but makes sense cause of the reasonable prices. The server's also really nice and attentive. And fyi it's cash only! so be prepared to bring cash or theres an atm inside.

Good food cheap price. Ingredients are fresh. Park in back since it had a rear enterance and main door is on a busy street with no parking.

Jay Bird's Chicken - Mac Daddy with Fries

Jay Bird's Chicken

There's nothing like eating a Nashville hot chicken at Jay Bird's inside of the Hangar (Long Beach,…read moreCalifornia). i've came here twice already. Let me tell you, this is a very good spot if you want quick casual food, and that's tasty. During my 1st visit.... I ordered the chicken sandwich (mild heat) and fries... with extra comeback sauce aside. I must say, this gonna be the tastiest chicken sandwich I've tasted. Chicken is cooked perfectly: With the extra sauce, I was able to enjoy it alot more. For the 2nd visit, mac daddy and fries (chicken sandwich with mac and cheese). I normally don't eat chicken sandwich with mac and cheese, but it looks real good. Sure enough, it was delicious. Service is quick and great. Overall.... if you good food inside the hangar, this is your best bet.

Jay Bird's Chicken - Mac Daddy Sandwich Review 2.5/5 stars…read moreI went in hyped for their signature Mac Daddy--a Nashville hot chicken sandwich topped with mac & cheese, comeback sauce, and served on a brioche bun (usually with spicy fries on the side). It's one of their most popular items, and plenty of people rave about the juicy chicken and creative twist. Unfortunately, it fell flat for me. The chicken itself was mediocre at best--decently crispy on the outside and juicy enough, but it lacked that bold, flavorful punch you expect from real Nashville hot spots. The seasoning felt muted compared to places like Howlin' Rays, Dave's, or even Prince's back in Nashville. It just didn't have the same depth or soul in the spice blend. The "hot" level was a big letdown too. I went for some heat, but there was barely any burn or lingering kick--it was more like mild cayenne vibes than anything that lives up to the Nashville hot name. Same issue with the tenders; they were fine texturally but underwhelming in flavor and spice. The mac & cheese topping was okay--creamy and cheesy--but it didn't elevate the sandwich much. Overall, it felt like a gimmicky add-on rather than a game-changer, and the whole thing came across as average fast-casual fried chicken rather than standout hot chicken. If you're craving legit flavorful, fiery Nashville-style chicken in the LA area, I'd probably skip Jay Bird's and hit up one of the heavier hitters instead. Solid concept, but execution was just meh this time. Maybe consistency varies by location or day, but based on this visit: not worth a repeat for me.

This is a place that I have raved about but I have to say the quality has gone down greatly. My mom and I both got the protein bowl which included soggy rice and dry chicken with no flavor. I was willing to pay the price of the meals ($60+ for a family of 3) but not for this quality. Not having water available is also extremely disappointing. I had a small child with me who I had to walk to the bathrooms to get water. This is not great service and I do not recommend this.

Serving up Louisiana style fried chicken in the LA area, Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken has over…read more100 locations throughout the US, though none in Louisiana itself. Our group of four had a chance to stop by for an early dine-in dinner, and found the chicken to well prepared and tasty. Originally founded in 1976 in Los Angeles by a enterprising franchisee who wanted to create his own fast food brand, Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken soon became very popular with LA residents. As sometimes happens with immigrant communities by word of mouth and 'paying it forward', the burgeoning Cambodians began to be the majority owners of franchisees, until it resulted in the brand being sold to a Cambodian in 2009. Considering the largest concentration of Cambodians outside of Cambodia is in Long Beach, California, I wanted to try this particular location. They also sell donuts here, and my credit card bill actually listed the donut shop as the vendor...this for me is not a selling point, but was not noticeable during our visit. It's a walk-up set-up, where you order/pay for your food through security windows. We ordered a 12-piece family combo for $35.45, which included 3 pieces of breast/thigh/wing/leg, 2 small orders of fries, a coleslaw and 6 rolls. They also sell fried catfish and shrimp, so got a 4 pc shrimp ($3.85). They only sell drinks by cans or bottles, so got 4 cans of Coke/Pepsi/Squirt. It is clearly stated that each order is fried fresh, taking about 20 minutes. Our order was ready in 15 minutes, and we decided to dine-in (a small makeshift outdoor dining area with temporary tables was set-up). The chicken was well brined and had been fried well (leaving plenty of space between the chicken), with the outer coat being crunchy with a little bit of spice. For me it tasted very similar to the popular national chain, but with more consistency. The 'small' fries were not that at all, but very large...with one being enough to feed the four of us. The fries looked underdone, but were not. There were no condiments available, so the saving grace was the thin hot sauce that you could dip your fries and chicken into. The rolls were forgettable, and the coleslaw was grocery store quality (which I actually like). In fact, the chicken and sides reminded me of what you could get at a grocery store deli, except always getting the chicken fresh, instead of ones that have been fried too many to a basket and sitting too long under a heat lamp. Freshness definitely matters here. There was plenty of food for the 4 of us, with us taking half of the meal home. It reheated very well, providing us a good lunch the following day.

Lol, so I'm way behind on reviews, though this one originally from a review draft from 6 months…read moreago, behind all the ton of places I wrote review drafts of on vacation a month and a half ago... this draft that was almost a complete review already. I would assume everything is mostly the same still though, other than the prices, which presumably have gone up like everything else... It's pay at the front - on a tablet, if you know what you want, though an employee is there if you need help. They're clear about the fact that everything is made fresh, so you get it in *exactly* as much time as it takes to be made, which wasn't instant, but was pretty quick. My wife got the 3 piece nugget plate for $12 - a steal at that price. The pieces are *quite* large, and they are pretty great. (She isn't a spice person, so got mild and liked them. Then took half home.) I got the $13 sandwich, which... the pieces of chicken they use for the sandwich are a bit silly, honestly. It's also a great deal, cause you get a ton of fried chicken, but it was also a bit unwieldy? By the time I was halfway into the actual sandwich part of the sandwich, it had fallen apart completely, and I had to eat it with forks (they don't have knives, so 2 forks had to do). Delicious, though. (I got a "medium" spice, which was pretty reasonable. Somewhat spicy, but it could've been a little spicier.) We also shared an order of fries - $6 for fries and a drink. The fries are solid, what you'd expect - also a huge portion (we also took a bunch of fries home for later.) I also gave them an extra $1 for an extra dip (I wanted to try their "signature sauce" as well as the ranch, which they make in-house, both great.) I also, I only discovered afterwards, also gave them another about a dollar in credit card fees, at 3%. (Disclosed, but not *obvious*.) Drinks are sadly just the usual fountain drinks, mostly soda - wish they had slightly craftier drinks, of one kind or another. (Or that they were closer to home so I could more easily get take-out. A solid choice if you're in the area though.)

I recently stopped by and was honestly impressed, especially with the portion sizes and flavor. I ordered the two-tender combo, and right away I noticed these weren't your average tenders--they were jumbo. Thick, crispy, and cooked just right. The outside had that perfect crunch while the inside stayed juicy and tender. You also get to pick your heat level, which is clutch whether you like it mild or want that real Nashville kick. The combo came with Texas toast, pickles, and their signature comeback sauce. The Texas toast was buttery and soft, perfect for balancing out the spice. The pickles added that tangy bite that cuts through the richness of the chicken, and the comeback sauce tied everything together--it's creamy, slightly tangy, and honestly addicting. I also ordered the Cluckin' fries, which come loaded with their comeback sauce and your choice of heat on the chicken. These were a whole meal on their own. Crispy fries topped with flavorful chicken and sauce--it's messy in the best way possible. I gave their mac & cheese a try too--it was okay, not bad, but definitely not the standout compared to everything else. Stick to the chicken and fries and you'll be happy. Pro tip: let your friends order extra pickles... you're gonna want more once you start eating. Overall, Cluck and Blaze delivers on flavor, portion size, and that classic Nashville hot chicken experience. Definitely a spot I'd come back to when I'm craving something crispy, spicy, and satisfying.
