The most amazing and spicy micheladas anywhere. They sat us quickly, and we had all of our food and drinks out in less than 15 minutes. Free chips and two salsas. We got guacamole, too and it was so fresh and delicious. The menudo and camarones a la diabla were both delicious, such large portions that we had to take 80% off it to-go, but that just means we got to enjoy it twice. The tortillas were the best corn tortillas I've ever had. Home-made and hot, the flour and corn tortillas are both great. I was in a group of diners, & our server did an good job considering; however, my food arrived barely warm. I ordered a kid's plate since I'm not a big eater, but I was charged an extra $1.00 for being an adult diner. This was not explained to me nor was it listed on the menu. The food was very bland, almost tasteless. I also ordered fajitas plate to go, and it arrived with no beans. In summary, I will never dine there again. read more

This place is a good little hole in the wall in Bryan, TX. The staff were super attentive, and the food was pretty good. A nice church crowd showed up as well as a 20 person birthday party. Chips and salsa, red and green, were brought out right away. They could improve their sweet tea and salsas, but there was free refills on the horchata! read more

If you were expecting a return of Tampico, or something like Hugo's or Frontera, you'll be disappointed. BCS isn't ready for that yet. Cilantro, like local favorites Papa Perez and Casa Rodriguez, is a basic family style Mexican/Tex-Mex restaurant. The menu showcases ginormous "combo platters" for big eaters, Fajita plates in a nod to Tex-Mex, and a limited seafood section. There are tacos, but they didn't seem all that interesting and didn't come with corn tortillas, so I passed. What caught my eye were the soups. I had the tortilla soup and it was very nice...better than Cafe Eccell for sure. Beer list is uninspired, with domestics limited to Bud Lite type stuff, and imports limited to the usual Mexican beers. But hey, when you're thirsty you're thirsty! They are not open for breakfast. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Not my cup of tea really as I was hoping for something a little more adventurous, but it will draw the locals looking for simple, stomach filling grub at decent prices. read more

Had to order takeout, so the food probably wasn't as fresh as it could have been had we dined in. We called in our order, and the woman on the phone was helpful and polite. She made ordering easy. Large portions for takeout. The castillo de res was tasty but a little tough. The rice was soft and flavorful, but I think the kitchen forgot my beans and gave me extra lettuce. The chips and salsa were ok, but left a lot to be desired. I will give them another try when I can actually eat in the restaurant. read more

Very disappointed. Arrived 6:30 Friday night and was told 10 minutes for a table. Was seated in 35 minutes. Waited 22 minutes for drinks to arrive at table. When the entrees finally arrived at the table they only brought some of them; it took 8 minutes from the 1st to last entrees which came in 3 sets for 6 people. To top it all off, I squished a baby roach crawling on the table. I don't normally watch the clock so close, but I felt like I was lied to initially and responsible because I picked this outing and restaurant. I do not recommend. read more

Cilantro was INCREDIBLE. I'm super picky about where we go to eat and received this recommendation from a friend of mine. I am so happy we tried this. My husband and I ordered the mini tacos, queso, and guacamole. It's the best Mexican food we've had in BCS and it was truly authentic. Cesar waited on us and is phenomenal. As soon as we walked in, we were seated, had menu's took our drink order, and took our order upon serving us our drinks; his timing was perfect. Wonderful experience, with great prices. This was my first time at Cilantro. The staff was warm and friendly. I was immediately seated due to the time(1645). I ordered water, a margarita and beef fajita enchiladas. Their salsas were very good and quite delicious. The service was great and the food prompt. The margarita was pretty good for a house margarita. I was overall disappointed in the plate. The refried beans tasted like they came straight from a can and the same could be said for the cheese sauce. The meat was also tough even they chopped into small pieces. I liked the place and atmosphere. Will definitely go back for drinks and chips and salsa. read more

Cilantro is very good! Every dish I have had has been tasty and prepared correctly. The only downside to the establishment is their service, it isn't bad, it could just use improvement. The majority of my visits, I have been waited on with professionalism and well-mannered folks, but there just isn't that welcoming aspect to their service. The hostesses are always welcoming, but the waitstaff lacks communication. I am happy to come again! read more

Mid December date night with friends and we headed downtown. Noticed good reviews and decided to try this fun place out. Chips with a warmed salsa and cool salsa. Warm more tomato with slight heat. Cool has a little more heat and pepper. Both really good and fun to have options. We ordered the queso and quac very pleased with both. Queso has veggies which we liked. Comes with fried flour tortilla chips which makes for a good choice since we have the standard table served tortilla chips. I had the beef fajita poblano which was supper tender and my wife had taco salad. Both of us very happy with the meals. Fast forward to Jan 2nd to try it again with our youngest daughter. Same salsas and ordered the queso again. Still yummy. This time my wife and I the beef fajita enchiladas and they were good but we liked our order from the previous visit better. My daughter ordered regular beef fajitas and the beef was a little chewy compared to last time with my poblano beef fajitas. Service was impeccable both times and we will certainly visit again. read more
