Actually good Mexican food in College Station (not just a chain that hangs its hat in good queso). Specialty and street tacos are all good. Additionally, they have great specials. read more

I ordered the barbacoa tacos and the bacon egg and cheese tacos with some chips and queso. All the tacos were extremely salty! And the chips were stale! Great flavor aside from these things but would not order again. read more

It was just ok. Service was good, speed of food arrival was good, but the pastor taco was not good. It had kind of an off taste to it. The Cochinita Pibil taco was excellent. I would definitely order that one again! Price was decent for the size of the tacos. Restaurant had a nice vibe and was clean. read more

(From February 2025) Taco Tuesday during my second work week in College Station back in mid February; it was a cold rainy evening and I found this place on the Toast app. Put in a large order since I was mad starving and picked up 5 classic street tacos (carnitas, bistec, & barbocoa), a pair of breakfast tacos, and a shrimp quesadilla. Yes, I was hungry. Unwrapping my items at the hotel, I began scarfing the concoctions. I liked the street tacos the most, especially the carnitas and barbocoa. Small yet lots of meat, both had good flavor. The bistec was a bit tough but seasoned right. For the breakfast tacos, I had a chorizo & egg and a potato & egg, both with jack cheese and grilled onions on flour tortillas. Both were tasty with good consistency with the tortillas. The shrimp quesadilla got a bit messy but had decent flavor. Caught me off guard since some of the shrimp and cheese would escape the tortilla upon biting it. Tried to escape my mouth; but I wouldn't be denied! Not a bad spot. It's a popular spot amongst the A&M body with multiple fast tex-mex hand held eats. I'd add this to my taco rotation next time I'm in College Station. read more

Read Google reviews and visited with family for dinner last night. Should have trusted my instincts - almost empty on a Saturday (college move-in) night! The entrance area was a bit funky with a queue/crowd stanchion pole plonked randomly in front of the entrance door and wet floor signs greeting you as you enter. Apart from 3-4 people at the bar and a diner or two elsewhere, the place was empty. Interior was a bit funky too though looked clean. Service at the cash register as well as with the food was friendly and excellent. Food consisting of Queso with chips, Street Corn, Matamoros Street Tacos (Beef and Chicken), Veggie Taco, and Cochinita Pibil Taco (make your own taco) arrived promptly. The chips were cold while the Queso was warm...the Street Corn was runny and flavorless, the pork in the Cochinita Pibil Taco was too salty. The Salsa Station by the drinks stand had runny, flavorless Salsa in the dispensers. The portions were ample, however, Overall, the experience did not come together as expected. Reminded one of a family-run place that is struggling to make it. Didn't have the looks of a fully professional set up. Meal with a healthy tip set us back $48; felt it would have been better spent elsewhere, sadly. read more

If I could give them no stars I would. I ordered a burrito $14 dlls and when I called to tell them they didn't include it they called me a liar. Rude and BS. I got $60 worth of food and gave a tip for bad service to be called a liar. Very disappointed because the food is good and now they will NEVER have me as a customer again. I tried calling yesterday when I got home but they were closed. Ugh and when I call today they call me a liar. Worst service EVER. read more

Went to TacoBar with some friends! Their large margaritas were on sale and super big! It was a great environment and casual for a nice meet up. The food was really good we all got specialty tacos and they were flavorful and greasy. A good greasy though. Plenty of parking. You walk up and order at the counter then get a table number so quick service for the most part. Bold flavors great place for taco Tuesday! read more

Tacobar - Tacos and Margaritas - Mexican Near Me - College Station, Texas

Sooooo. Pretty much not real Mexican cuisine. Seems all the food we had needed salt because it lacked seasoning. Had Pastor - it was roasted pork not what true pastor is. Carnitas and Pibil did pretty much taste the same like shredded pork with no real flavor. Had the Bistec tacos and same; just lacked something. The Chicharones with white queso were good. The chicharones were crisp and fresh! Had the Street Corn but it did not taste like street corn... Added some salt just to give it some sort of seasoning. The margarita was good. The atmosphere is fun. The decor is cute. It was empty for a Friday night Happy Hour dinner spot. Definitely try it at least once to form your own opinion! Some people LOVE this place. read more

Love taco Tuesday but it's ALWAYS FREEZING INSIDE! The owner doesn't let the staff touch the thermostat! It cold outside and inside. Miserable! read more

Great flavor, very very sloppy presentation. Juice was all over the bag and everything in the bag. If they would have thought about it, the barria taco in a flour tortilla should be put in a container alone, not folded in foil. Aside from the lack of common sense, pretty good tacos. read more

Great food, drinks, service, and VIBE!!!! Love this place, one of my new favorites! Street tacos were delicious

Sorry this is easily the best taco place in town. Great food, cool vibe, friendly staff. It's our go-to place.

First time here. It is mostly tacos from what I saw on the menu. Ordered the El Jefe and two Matamoros Street tacos with fajita meat. You order from a counter and then take a seat and your meal is brought out to you. I don't like that when you pay at the counter and it asks you to add a tip before you are able to evaluate the service. I selected the 18% which amounted to $3,37 and the only service I received was the food brought to my table. No one checked back or made any attempt to interact with me during the meal. Your food comes out without any utensils so anything that falls out of your taco you have to pick up and eat with your hands so make sure you wash them. Lol There is also no salt, pepper, salsa, or napkins on the table. You can go back to the counter to get napkins but I didn't see any of the other items I mentioned anywhere to be found??? The inside was not really clean and I was the only customer for a while so we're not too busy. My table needs to be wiped down and there were napkins on the floor at my table. The Matamores was definitely the star of the show in my dinner plate. They fry the outer tortilla with some type of cheese that gives it a unique and delicious flavor. The fillings are pretty good too. My three tacos, a soda, and an order of fries were $23.64. Another issue that irked me was the price of the fries on the menu is $2.95 but on my check it was $3.50?? Not a big deal but I do expect the menu to reflect the actual price you will be charged. Overall it was not bad but and I am glad I tried them out but don't think I will be back. read more

It was a great experience. Had the queso borrelia - it was incredible and so very tasty. My wife said her bacon, fajita taco was just ok - but the chips and queso were absolutely the best ever! read more

Taco these broken wings and learn to fry again? This is a very generic Americanized taco place in College Station and I would say that for the most part, this kind of place would always get a 3 or less from me, just because the food is hardly amazing and is very much Tex-Mex and very not Mexican. But it's great for people watching and it's popular and the portions are generous, and the prices aren't bad. And perhaps best of all, it gives a pretty decent meal in a town that doesn't have a lot of decent meals, and so for these reasons I give it 4 stars. Taco a moment to decide if you want to go to eat Tacos or to the Bar. And if you can't choose, then this covers both bases. read more

I was looking for a place to get a breakfast burrito and since they were close by I decided to stop in. The place is very clean and the lady who took my order was nice. I got the burrito to go. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the burrito. I took the first bite and it was delicious! Normally the first bite is mostly tortilla. Not this burrito! It was full! The tortilla was toasted and delightful, not too thick and flavorful! I will definitely be back! read more

Ordered for delivery and an item was missing. Called for them to adjust the charge and got no response. Food was ok but there was so much liquid in the meat the tortillas were soaked and fell apart. read more

Great food, and great lunch specials! The staff was kind. Enjoyed the rajas con queso rice and beans.

One of my favorite spots in CSTAT. Went to taco bar when it was a hole in the wall- as it's expanded, it's only gotten better. The breakfast bowl is my favorite meal at any time of the day and affordable! Highly recommend! read more

The food has really great flavor, and the salsa is delicious! The atmosphere is pretty chill.

Great service. Great ambiance to grab a drink with friends. I chose one of the Taco Boxes and it was good but I'd only recommend if you REALLY like raw onions. I had it for take out and by the time I got home it was a little soggy but I can see the potential for dine in! Otherwise, great experience. read more

My daughter recommended this restaurant and it didn't disappoint! The tacos were delicious, flavorful and full of fajita ( we ordered the fajita tacos). I ordered a Michelada which was prepared the way authentic Mexican bars make it...salud! If you want authentic and fresh food, you definitely need to come here! read more

Went here on a weekday so we could check out the "new taco place". We had heard they were good and they were! Their salsa is good! (Though very small containers) We ordered classic taco with bistek and shrimp & fixings, tostada w/pastor and a shredded chicken. We were not disappointed; All of them were very tasty! The only criticism we had is that the tacos are small. Check Taco bar out! read more

Wonderful food couldn't stop eating! We got the beef fajita and barbacoa (I know I spelt that wrong) but it's was delicious and can't say enough for the queso kept going back for more! Looking forward to ordering from here again read more

If you ask questions any about your points towards free tacos, etc. They consider you "harassing", when in actuality the employees do not have the answers. They have to run to the mgr to get the answers and thereby you are considered "arguing" w/ the emp's. This is poor training on their part. I give them 2 yrs. tops b/f they shut their doors. Awful customer service! read more

Huge disappointment. I got the birria quesadillas and it was plain and the tortillas were very soggy. The consume was beef broth, not the juice or broth from the meat, because it was light brown clear liquid. Not a hard item to get wrong, but somehow it was. I ate one or two and threw the rest out. Not worth taking home. The service was even worse. The three people standing in the front couldn't answer our questions about the food items because they didn't know. The restaurant it used to be when I was in school not but four years ago, looked exactly the same as the restaurant I walked into, but the food is not. I was really hoping it be better from what the menu shows and how this place has good reviews on here and Google. Maybe it was there were different cooks or something, but man was this place not it. read more

This place is AMAZING! As a girl from the 956, I was so happy to find a place in cstat with good mexican food! Their street tacos are my fav but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu! Best Mexican food in college Station! So happy to have found this place! We've tried many different things and all yummy!

Poor customer service! The food wasn't good and the restrooms were dirty. The only good thing about this place was the location.

(Tldr: cheap breakfast tacos, could use more flavor and meat, I'd rate it 3.5/5) I have been looking for some good breakfast tacos in the area, and came upon this place that was close to home. I ordered a couple chorizo and egg breakfast tacos, and a side of chips and queso (purely for review purposes, of course). When I got home, I took a few bites then decided to add some avocado, lime, and cheese to my taco, which definitely improved the flavor (this would've made my tacos about $3 each of I had added these at the store). The queso (~$5) tastes similar to La Bodega, but less greasy. It appears to be made with real white cheese. I'll come back again to try their lunch/dinner menu. Pros: - The breakfast tacos are pretty big (see picture with grande Starbucks for scale) for around $2 a piece. - drive through window - large selection of hot sauce in dining portion - generous amount of egg on taco - cheap - clean Cons: - very little meat on the taco for its size. If they were on street taco tortillas it would be fine, but I only got about 1 tablespoon of (tasty) chorizo on my taco. - first two fillings are included in the price (~$2) but each additional is ($0.50) - drive through window takes forever, I eventually decided to just walk in - I think they could've added more seasonings to the queso and tacos for a more authentic flavor read more

My favorite hidden gem in Bryan/College Station! Found this place a few weeks ago thanks to a friend's recommendation and I've been back 5 times already! read more

Pretty good! I got a breakfast taco with chorizo and egg + a chicken fajita taco. It was a lot of food for about $6. But a queso is about $5 and it's not a big bowl at all... their salsas are good, the green is actually spicy. We should be back. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at how great this place was. The chorizo in my taco was some of the best chorizo I have ever had; it was exploding in flavor. My friend also said the same thing about the steak fajita meat on her tostada. The workers were really kind too and service was very quick. We were not a fan of the chips (too chewy) or the salsa (lacked flavor), but the food itself was awesome! Definitely recommend. read more

Bad service and low quality food. We went in on a Tuesday afternoon so it was empty besides a couple that already had their food. We went in to order and were waiting around until the owner popped out to finally take our order (this continued for any additional questions/requests we had). I ordered the chicken fajitas which tasted like dry, chicken that they've had for a while and my partner ordered el tacochon which was extremely greasy in a raw flour tortilla. We went back inside to mention this yet the owner never came out. On our way out, he asked if we wanted a to go box for my partner's order in which we expressed our complaints and were met with "oh you have to specifically request for less lard and the tortilla to be toasted." Don't bother wasting your money here on less than mediocre tacos. read more

The parking lot was empty at 7 on a Saturday night. That should have been the first red flag. Employee at the counter was standoffish and seemed irritated when we told him that we had never been here before. Didn't bother to offer any recommendations or help with the menu. I ordered the chips and queso along with the street taco meal. Was annoyed that asada, a customary street taco protein, was not an option. I went with the beef fajita instead. My friend got the chips and salsa. The salsa tasted like it was just tomato juice and cilantro mixed together and heated up. The queso had a weird aftertaste... almost sour tasting. My meal was served on a paper plate with no presentation. The rice was dry like it had been sitting in a warmer for hours. The tacos had no flavor to them at all. I didn't even try the beans since they looked like they were paste from a can and left out to dry. We tried a few sauces available at the drink station. They tasted dirty for lack of a better word. We decided to people watch for a bit and noticed several guests who had disappointed expressions after trying their meal. The redecoration seemed very bland. Reminded me of the wood walls from homes back in the 80's and 90's. There was no interaction from the staff at all. When we were leaving the gentleman who came to clean the table just stared at us very creepily as we walked out not uttering a word. I said have a nice evening and he responded with "yeah". All in all a crappy experience. I really wanted to like this place but was sadly disappointed. The Mad Taco that used to be here was much better. read more
