I've been to this and other Chuy's location a number of times since the brand came to town from Austin. Honestly, my three star rating isn't based on anything that's specifically wrong, but there is a lot of competition in the TexMex space here in the DFW area, and while I know Chuy's is the top of some folks' list, it's just not mine. There are some high points, though. My go to dish is the ground beef chile relleno with boom boom sauce, and it's very reliable. Nice, crispy breading around a mild Anaheim pepper, stuffed with well seasoned ground beef, topped with their cilantro forward cheese sauce - this is the top of the heap for me. Flour tortillas, made by hand right in the restaurant, are my other favorite item here, and honestly, they're great with just butter on them. The pre-meal chips and salsa feature chips that are thin and fragile, making it difficult to scoop up anything other than the chunky salsa or jalapeno ranch sauce. The salsa is more like a pico de gallo, and really lacks in flavor for my tastes. Queso compuesto is a decent starter, and it's good to dip those tortillas in, but the chips tend to break. Enchiladas are a bit of a mixed bag. Ground beef feature the same filling as the chile relleno mentioned above; chicken tends to be plentiful yet not well seasoned. I'm sure this review won't be popular with some, but I find Chuy's to be a serviceable franchise, just not my favorite. Don't hate me :) read more

Most disgusting and horrific night I have ever had. First my husbands food came out blood raw. My burrito had a burnt slab of onion. Worst part of the "dinner" was when I was giving my daughter some of her kids cup water and there was a dead fat roach on the bottom. My daughter is 13 Months old a baby still. Drinking out of her water cup to notice there was a roach marinating in the cup the whole time. We did not notice because the cup was full of designs that covered the cup. I left crying while my husband stayed behind. We were given a certificate to come eat free and a comped whole meal. Never going back either way. read more

This is some of the worst food that I've ever had at a restaurant. The steak burrito was half full of dry, overcooked bits of beef. The chips were the cheapest, most tasteless chips one can find. The salsa is some weird pink, puréed monstrosity of bleh. The rice and beans were ok. The beerita was way too little margarita for the beer bottle, so you end up just drinking beer with a little margarita taste. Run away from this place. read more

A friend dropped by over the weekend intent on getting me out of the house for a nice drive around town and lunch. We really enjoy toodling all over the metroplex, discovering new restaurants we've yet to try, finding a favorite that has surprisingly closed and seeing what is happening in other parts of town other than our regular haunts in the Addison north Dallas area. After driving around through downtown, Deep Ellum, up Greenville Avenue, we found ourselves on Central Expwy so headed north we go. Ah Ha, there's a Chuy's @ Parker, so he makes a U-turn of sorts and goes back to one of the Tex-Mex spots we enjoy. We've been to 3 other locations of Chuy's and find the Mexican décor funky & cheesy, however somewhat whimsical; it's the same everywhere. Pictures of our furry friends, hub caps on the ceiling, hanging planters, etc. but it seems to create a fun atmosphere. We opted for a comfy booth against the wall, greeted by our friendly server, whose name I unfortunately forgot. Drink orders taken, quickly delivered along with the chips, salsa and a side order of that signature Jalapeno sauce, a must have !. Umm, those chips; just as I like them..wafer thin, slightly salty and oily, were perfect with the chunky slightly spicy salsa, agreeable to my wimpy palate. A great start to our dining experience. Straying into unknown territory I deviated from my usual Tex-Mex order to try something different. Having heard and read about Chicka-Chicka Boom-Boom decided to give it a go; however, I asked to have seasoned beef rather than chicken; so, let's call it Beefa-Beefa Boom-Boom ! Absolutely scrumptious with that mayo based sweet garlic chili sauce, hint of heat from the sriracha, all perfectly blended. It was a huge serving with two enchiladas, beans and rice; shoulda ordered only one enchilada. The accompanying side of guacamole was chunky, tasty and most flavorable. My DC ordered the Mexi-Cobb salad with roasted chicken, green chilies, avocado (extra), tomatoes and cheese; he had the jalapeno dressing to top it off. By the photo you can see how enormous it was with such a generous serving of the chicken. He raved about the flavors, said it was delicious with the well seasoned roasted chicken. Our meals were outstanding; service was exemplary, and the outing was a great way to spend a weekend afternoon !! What a treat.....can't wait for our next adventure. read more

Me and my wife came in on Easter Sunday 4-17-22 around 4:30 everything was fine till the food came out and we noticed a roach crawling around the wall next to our table it looked like it had babies on it's back the manager asked us if we wanted to be moved I told her I just wanted to leave she offered us a free meal for two for next time but I will never be back to this place. An overall very good experience for a chain restaurant. I had the chicken burrito and my wife had the chicken nachos. I'm not a fan of a burrito that is half chicken and half refried beans. It was okay, but my wife's nachos were amazing. Definitely A+! The restaurant was very clean and wait staff very attentive. The receptionist gave us a cold, unfriendly reception, but then I realized she was in training. The actual receptionist was very kind, warm, and welcoming. Prices were reasonable. Each meal was under $13. I wish they would use cloth napkins and higher quality eating utensils. There's better, smaller Tex-Mex restaurants in the area, but Chuy's is definitely above average. read more

My favorite Tex-Mex restaurant. Ever. I spend almost every birthday dinner here and have never been disappointed. The dish I recommend the most is the Deluxe Chicken Enchiladas with Tomatillo Sauce, saddled with sides of refried beans and Mexican rice. Mild, but with just the right amount of spice. The service at this location is probably the better than the others in the area. However, food is pretty consistent across all locations- just average and on the greasier side. For what it is, I think a lot of other Tex-Mex chains have this place beat. The floors are really sticky and every server somehow manages to fully submerge their thumb in the salsa when they bring it to you. It's only really worth coming during happy hour weekdays 4-7 for the fully loaded nacho car. The drinks are really weak, so that kind of offsets free nachos. read more

Hooray for the food! They did dial back the menu items durimg Covid, limiting what I can eat. I have a chicken allergy, so the new menu only has a few options. The fokd is great, so that saves them. Their margaritas on the other hand are terrible. I have. Even here quite a bit and wish that the matgarita they staye is the best, is....but it always ends up being too sour. Tadtes like they just squared a bunch a fresh lemons in it. I love lemons and lemonade, but it was overkill. I do love their decor and their chips. I appreciate that they put their utensils in a paper bag, makes you feel a sense of safety. read more

Went there Monday, 3/28/22 before heading back to California. A good friend recommended that we eat here. Pete was our waiter. He was the greatest and really made our experience wonderful. The food was great. We enjoyed the chips and jalapeños salsa. We both had chicka chicka boom boom. It was delicious. Next time Im trying green salsa on the rice. Standard service, even with a busy busy happy hour! So that's pretty impressive since they have a phenomenal happy hour. The drinks are a little under market price but the selling point for me is their nacho bar! It's basically dinner with the toppings (beef, beans, queso, chips, salsa). My girlfriend and I came here to eat because we both love this place. I hadn't been to a Chuy's since I lived in the Houston area and I was so excited to be back. We were greeted and seated immediately after walking in, even though it was busy. Our waiter was super friendly and made sure to check on us numerous times even though it was obvious he was very busy with a ton of other tables. Of course we filled up on chips and salsa before our food came out!! I ordered the chicken quesadillas and my gf ordered the chicken soft tacos. Happy hour queso turned into dinner. The queso was and chips were good. Our entrees were all attractive and well presented. We had a chuychanga, beef tacos and taco salad. Our server David was excellent-just the right amount of attentiveness! My husband loves to get dessert - there are only two dessert options. I've been eating at chuys since I was a teenager over 30 years ago. What has happened to this restaurant since selling out is absolutely pathetic. The menu, the value, and the quality is TERRIBLE... You took a very simple and fun concept to the point of no return. I will definitely not return. Even our waiter agreed there has been a massive decline. It's obvious when you walk in a little before 7pm and can set sat right away. The place used to be packed. Is that not a sign???
