Went for a late lunch. We ordered the combination fajita dinner and every part was delicious! The beef and chicken were moist, tender and tasty. Loved the plentiful grilled onions and peppers. Both the corn and flour tortillas seemed homemade. Jase was a terrific server, checking on us just the right amount of times and making good suggestions. Our total experience was very enjoyable. This was the WORST restaurant experience I have ever had. I came with a party of four and at first everything seemed ok. This is one of the best Tex mex place to try. You should just know what to order for amazing experience. Ambience: The place is very colorful with wall paintings, hanging fishes, pictures of dogs etc with outdoor seating. The outdoor seating of this location is specifically my favorite as its a hut shaped covering made of straw. Another one in Addison is nice too with some light music playing Things to try: 1. Drinks- Margaritas are good. They also have a frozen rita drink which has a beer bottle inverted inside a margarita drink ( must try as its something different) 2. Appetizers: They serve you with free chips and salsa. The chips are freshly prepared. Also, ask for the creamy jalapeno dip which is a must have with chips. Don't fill your tummy with all the chips as they can be really tempting 3. Food: They used to have a vegetarian platter ( Chile releno, Enchilada, beans and rice ) . However they have discontinued this since the beginning of pandemic. I would go for Enchiladas with Boom Boom sauce ( you need to mention this else it comes with default sauce which is ranchero). Boom Boom sauce is made with chilies and cheese and gets a bit spicy so if you can't handle even little heat then you shouldn't go for this one. Else its really flavorful and amazing. For Chicken lovers: Chika chika boom boom , this is chicken enchiladas topped with boom boom sauce. Both the things come with Beans and rice on the side.Its too good. I personally prefer the veg Enchiladas here. One plate is enough for 2 people if you are not very hungry. 4. Desserts: Save space after the hogging of all the enchiladas and chips. This dessert is a must try - " Tres Leche" . Its made with 3 types of milk. Its so spongy, creamy, perfectly sweet. This is something you cannot miss. Chuy's is classic for all things Tex-Mex and is a safe bet when you're looking to satisfy a Tex-Mex craving. Prices are pretty reasonable too. This place was pretty bumpin' for lunch on a Thursday and it's probably because the food is solid. I love the chips and jalapeño ranch! Their salsa is ok - it's more on the pico de gallo side rather than actual salsa. It's pretty light and there's a very, very small kick to it. It ain't bad but the real star here is that jalapeño ranch. Service was pretty spot on despite it being busy because our server continuously refilled our chips and water. I love the baja tacos here. I like to get one of each so I have one fried shrimp taco and one fried fish taco. The batter is delicious. The seafood is fried well and isn't greasy. They give you a big piece of fish and a lot of shrimp. Chuy's doesn't skimp. The flour tortilla is super soft and makes the perfect vessel for the tacos. The overall taco is bomb because of the jalapeño ranch. Good flavors overall. Great dish to satisfy your seafood taco cravings! Mexican rice and refried beans are pretty standard. Its been disappointing to watch the food quality at this place decline over the years. I went today and ordered a roast chicken "big as yo face" burrito. When delivered, it barely had any sauce on it, but beside that it was handed to me as "steak burrito", so I checked by cutting it in half... all I saw were refried beans, so I cut it lengthwise and same thing. I had to rake beans out of the way to find just a tiny bit of chicken. This was literally about 90% beans. It used to be stuffed with chicken, but now it's just a bean burrito with a little chicken garnish. Really a bummer. Great hatch sauce and jalapeño ranch dip though. read more

I'm not gonna lie; Chuy's has grown on me to the point I actually love it. I'm not a big fan of chain restaurants when you can typically get better food locally but Chuy's never disappoints. From their service to their selection there is something for everyone. On my latest adventure here we decided to eat in (hence why you're seeing a review for the first time here) instead of To-Go. Instead of waiting for a table we sat at the bar area that has open seating with high tops, booths, and of course counter bar seats. It's first come first serve so be sure to snag a table as soon as one is about to be cleared on busier days! Our waitress was prompt to greet us and get our drinks. She was super friendly and was easy to talk to. She gave us our chips and salsa and We put in our order and it came out pretty quickly. But i would be doing a disservice if I don't talk about their Salsa. Y'all! This Salsa is the ish! When I say right amount of acid, heat, and flavor I truly do mean it. If I could marry Salsa; it would be this one. So be sure to get you some! Now back to the food. I believe they either microwave or use a high heat lamp to keep it hot after the cook it because their plates (and the food) are always steaming hot so warning to all. I ordered the Chicken "Big as Yo Face" burrito and my partner got the Number 1. Both of these were great and you can see them in the pictures. The Number 1 is a lot of food so be prepared. I got their normal Ranchero sauce this time but my favorite sauce of theirs is the Boom Boom sauce. Either choice you can't go wrong. We've been loyal Chuy's customers for years, but our take-out experience at this location was just awful. The actual curbside pickup was fine- no complaints there. The entire issue was with the food. For starters, we ordered 8 oz of Boom Boom sauce. When we got home, the 8 oz container was only filled up halfway. That's maybe 4 oz of Boom Boom sauce for about $8 after tax. An absolute scam. When someone orders 8 oz of sauce, they expect to receive 8 oz. I could overlook the half-empty Boom Boom if the other food was alright, but the quality has consistently gone down across the board. The Mexican rice was much more bland than it used to be pre-lockdown. The tres leches, usually a family favorite, was lacking in sweetness. The worst part was when we got halfway through the creamy jalapeño ranch sauce. There was a hair inside the jalapeño ranch- as if our meal could've gotten any worse! No one in our family has that hair color or texture, so it clearly came from the restaurant. Overall: just don't come here. There's a reason so many of their recent reviews are so poor. For my meal, I ordered the Chicken Fajitas, which were cooked to perfection and full of flavor. My wife ordered the Cheese Enchiladas with Boom Boom sauce, which were also delicious. We also split a half order of the Pancho Nachos, which were loaded with toppings and tasted great. One of the highlights of our meal was the chips and jalapeno ranch salsa. The chips were crispy and fresh, and the salsa had just the right amount of kick. I absolutely love the salsa and it's complimentary! This is an ok restaurant. It's really loud so I wouldn't recommend this place for a date. It's more of a family restaurant. Lots of screaming kids. The food is average. There salsa is ok. Definitely doesn't compare to some of the other restaurants in town. It's very soupy and bland. Their beef nachos are good, but they do skimp on the beef a bit. The beef however is marinated well and always cooked perfectly. My husband always gets this chicken platter of theirs. I wish I could remember the name. It's always so spicy to the point where he's sweating while eating. Service isn't great here. It seems like their servers are always so overwhelmed. Most disgusting and horrific night I have ever had. First my husbands food came out blood raw. My burrito had a burnt slab of onion. Worst part of the "dinner" was when I was giving my daughter some of her kids cup water and there was a dead fat roach on the bottom. My daughter is 13 Months old a baby still. Drinking out of her water cup to notice there was a roach marinating in the cup the whole time. We did not notice because the cup was full of designs that covered the cup. An overall very good experience for a chain restaurant. I had the chicken burrito and my wife had the chicken nachos. I'm not a fan of a burrito that is half chicken and half refried beans. It was okay, but my wife's nachos were amazing. Definitely A+! The restaurant was very clean and wait staff very attentive. The receptionist gave us a cold, unfriendly reception, but then I realized she was in training. The actual receptionist was very kind, warm, and welcoming. Prices were reasonable. Each meal was under $13. I wish they would use cloth napkins and higher quality eating utensils. This is some of the worst food that I've ever had at a restaurant. The steak burrito was half full of dry, overcooked bits of beef. The chips were the cheapest, most tasteless chips one can find. The salsa is some weird pink, puréed monstrosity of bleh. The rice and beans were ok. The beerita was way too little margarita for the beer bottle, so you end up just drinking beer with a little margarita taste. Run away from this place. read more

I've been to this and other Chuy's location a number of times since the brand came to town from Austin. Honestly, my three star rating isn't based on anything that's specifically wrong, but there is a lot of competition in the TexMex space here in the DFW area, and while I know Chuy's is the top of some folks' list, it's just not mine. There are some high points, though. My go to dish is the ground beef chile relleno with boom boom sauce, and it's very reliable. Nice, crispy breading around a mild Anaheim pepper, stuffed with well seasoned ground beef, topped with their cilantro forward cheese sauce - this is the top of the heap for me. Flour tortillas, made by hand right in the restaurant, are my other favorite item here, and honestly, they're great with just butter on them. The pre-meal chips and salsa feature chips that are thin and fragile, making it difficult to scoop up anything other than the chunky salsa or jalapeno ranch sauce. The salsa is more like a pico de gallo, and really lacks in flavor for my tastes. Queso compuesto is a decent starter, and it's good to dip those tortillas in, but the chips tend to break. Enchiladas are a bit of a mixed bag. Ground beef feature the same filling as the chile relleno mentioned above; chicken tends to be plentiful yet not well seasoned. I'm sure this review won't be popular with some, but I find Chuy's to be a serviceable franchise, just not my favorite. Don't hate me :) read more
