First visit here after lots of recommendations and it did not disappoint. Got the chili rellenos with boom boom sauce. SOooooo good. Spicy, flavorful, pepper was fried perfectly and just the right amount of sauce. Wife got a burrito and tried some of it she it was amazing as well. Truly best Mexican I have had though I fully admit I have been limited to mostly chains where I moved here from. So only negative is the service was not great. Was an extremely long wait for our drinks, a modelo and margarita. Waiter never asked if I wanted another beer. After that wait I wasn't going to anyway, but still. Granted it was 1pm on a Saturday and the place was slammed so I'm not going to ding them for that. Also the waiter was nice and the entree came out relatively quick. Food more than made up for it. read more

After eating at the Knox location about a dozen times we finally tried this location. Plenty of parking and we only had to wait 20 minutes for a four top at 6:15 last Saturday. It looked like most of the others waiting had larger groups. Based on the other reviews I'd definitely call ahead to ask about the wait. The place is really loud. Like hard to understand the server loud. The service was good though. Prompt with the drinks and checked back on us a few times. I'm not a huge fan of margaritas but they have a mango margarita that's really good. It's gross by itself but swirled with lime and strawberry it balances it all out nicely. Sometimes they run out of mango and it's not even on the drink menu so you'd have to ask. My favorite dish is the Elvis Presley Memorial Combo. See pic. I've tried two other dishes but I keep coming back for that. It's a big dish with good variety and a good price. You can substitute for a different sauce if there's one you don't like. The salsa was very fresh and surprisingly better than the Knox location. We ate so much chips and salsa that we didn't have room for dessert this time. I like the feel of the Knox location a little better (maybe just nostalgia) but next time we want Chuy's we'll hit west Plano again because of the salsa and ample parking. read more

This is my husband's and my favorite lunch spot. He works very close so we meet here often on his lunch break. The decor is funky and eclectic. I've been to the original Chuy's on Barton Springs in Austin and it is true to its origins. We always start with the yummy queso. I am a creature of habit and usually order the same thing. I get the chicken combo with a soft chicken fajita taco and a chicken chalupa. Just those two items make it hard for me to finish my lunch, but they are amazing. I usually add jalapeños to it to add a little heat to the dish. My husband loves the big as your face burrito. He can never finish it, but I think he just likes the name. We have never had bad service or had to wait very long for a table. Fast, friendly, and an easy get in and get out lunch spot. We have come to happy hour here also. They have a nacho bar that is very tasty to soak up your margaritas. The margaritas are STRONG. I can only handle one. read more

I'm not a Texas resident but I am a frequent visitor and every single time I make a trip out here, Chuy's is a MUST. For those new to Chuy's, Chuy's is a popular TexMex restaurant in Texas. They have a variety of items on their menu from salads, fajitas, enchiladas, to chile rellanos. I have tried just about everything and usually am left feeling stuffed (portions are HUGE). They are extremely vegetarian-friendly and happily adjust meal orders as their guests please (something I value in at any restaurant). Their house pico de gallo is very good but their creamy jalepano sauce that comes out with the chips is out of this world. Be careful to not overstuff yourself on the chips and salsas because I usually spoil my appetite for the main course. Chuy's is a good spot for families and friends alike. Their drink menu is plentiful, service is great (energetic, Chuy's-loving servers), and they are very VERY accommodating to their guests. This last time that I went to Chuy's, I was on a diet and a little bummed that I was not going to be able to indulge like I typically do. I ordered a chile rellano thinking that was probably the healthiest item on the menu (next to salads, obviously). I had absolutely no idea that they would make the chile rellano unbreaded, but the waitress offered as if she read my mind. I was so happy about that. The meal was delicious, as expected. Go to Chuy's when you're starving and in the mood for some good ol' fashioned Texas sized Tex-Mex food. You won't regret it. =) read more

While the food is OK and prices are fair, the "salsa" is inedible. Their "salsa" is just a bunch of cut up tomatoes with some onion. I won't be going back just because of that. If you like tomatoes, then you will probably like it. read more

Literally my favorite restaurant in the world. My hubby and I came to this location for our first date in 2013. We have a new location that's closer however we still drive to this location almost every weekend because of the bartender Nalani, she's the best! Remembers our order everytime and very friendly. We love being regulars here. Food is delicious and always comes out quick. A+++ read more

I have eaten at the Chuy's in Denton and loved it, but my experience at the Plano location was the worst. I ordered beef enchiladas, but was given cheese enchiladas. The next time the server came by, I told him I was served cheese enchiladas instead of beef. He asked if I wanted them replaced and I told him yes. Fifteen minutes later he brings out two plates with one a la carte beef enchilada on each plate. He dumped each enchilada on my plate and left. By this time my beans were cold, and when I tasted the enchiladas, they were only warm, not hot. The worst part was when I got the bill. He not only charged me for the cheese enchiladas I did not order or eat, but he also charged me for the two a la carte beef enchiladas. I asked him why he charged me for both and he said I should have asked more questions about the menu if i didn't understand it. I understood the menu fine. He turned the order in wrong. Sorry, Chuy's, I will never, ever be back. read more

Even though I live in San Diego I have such a hard-on for Tex-Mex!! This place is awesome. I ordered the Boom chicka-chicka and it was so effing good. Two pulled chicken enchiladas with a spicy sauce, charro beans and cilantro rice. The chicken was tender and cheesy and the sauce had a good amount of heat! When you order takeout, they give you a ginormous bag of chips and they are those really good, paper thin ones. They also came with two types of salsa...a traditional garlicky one that had the perfect amount of spice and an even yummier one that was like a jalapeño cream. I can't wait to go back!! read more

The last time I went to Chuy's (in FL), it was a God-awful experience in every way, so coming here, I had 0 expectations of having a good time. I was somewhat wrong! Chuy's has a great selection of food and drinks that don't leave you with "regrets" hours later. I ordered the Mexi-Cobb Salad and it was divine. The grilled chicken didn't have any weird, chewy/hard bits in it, the greens were fresh, and everything was well-prepared. My husband ordered tacos and it was just as good. The portions are huge and worth every penny. Going during happy hour is a good time. They have a nice deal on drinks and they have this nacho cart that's basically endless nacho-fixings and chips. The only catch is you have to go get yourself by the bar -- we were too lazy for that so I can't comment fully, but everyone around us seemed to enjoy it. Where Chuy's suffers is their service. I don't know if our server Ryan was new or high but the dude was weird and worked at a snail's pace. Example: After he delivered our checks, he kept approaching our table as if to say something and then left at the last second and he did this multiple times. I don't know if he wanted us to give up the table since technically we were done, or what. And then after we paid and ~15 minutes passed, he asked if we wanted dessert... like dude, really? No, we just paid. Another thing is the place is loud. Expect to shout, even if you're touching elbows with the person you're talking to. And expect to weave in between chairs because Chuy's is also very crowded. Finally, parking sucks. Good luck finding a close spot! read more

This is my first visit to Chuy's ever and this was by for the worst portion size ever. I know I came close to closing (we arrived close to 8:40pm they close @ 10but Jesus is this the true portion size because that is a joke. Chuy's is one of my go-to Tex Mex spots! When you walk in it's a very eclectic feeling. There's a room that's covered with the hub caps of different cars and another room is covered with license plates all over. If you come during happy hour they turn the trunk of a car into a chips and queso bar which is really cool! I always order the Elvis Green Chile Fried Chicken! It's chicken breaded with Lays potato chips and deep fried served with the green chile sauce, beans, and rice. Its soooo delicious with the right amount of spice! While waiting for your food thing bring along unlimited chips and salsa but also ask for the jalapeño ranch to dip your chips. It's sooooo gooooood. Everyone loves that sauce! You can literally eat it with anything. For dessert you HAVE to try their tres leches cake. It's the most moist and delicious tres leches I've ever tasted! You will not be disappointed! read more

First time's the charm! We had never been to this location, but was glad we made the stop on the tollway. Even though it was a busy Saturday night and prime time for dinner, we got seated within 10 minutes. This place was packed! (After all, no one in Plano ever eats at home, or so it seems). Our waiter, Adrian, was quick and attentive without being too attentive. We got our meal fairly quickly, and really enjoyed it! The Burritos are HUGE! My husband shared his with my mother-in-law and both of them got plenty to eat. I had the Vegetarian Combo, and love it! The Chili Relleno was crisp and tasty. The batter and pepper retained their crunch, and the cheese was just the right temperature. The veggie enchilada has lots of peppers, corn, and is really just right I also liked the ranchero sauce on top of both. We'll got back again for sure, but may do a later dinner next time. There were a couple of family with small children near by that made our dinner a little "rowdy", and a softball team of teenagers waiting. read more

I am skeptical of most Tex-Mex places, so this was no different going in, but it surprised me. I also generally don't review chains, but I love the sign they have here saying "if you've been to one Chuy's, you've been to one Chuy's," so I assume they are all a bit different. I was here for lunch on a Friday and it was mostly business people and a few students (pretty sure they were skipping school). I had the steak burrito and it was excellent. The Hatch Green Chile sauce is amazing and it came with all the sides, including a bean soup. The chips are thin and they kept them coming. I'll be back! read more

Service was horrible! We had to hunt down our server probably 5 times during our meal. Food was decent, but not enjoyable when you are trying to find your server throughout the meal. My service was rudely interrupted by one of the managers berating our server to the point of tears. If that's how you treat your staff then you deserve one star. Y'all, I have a confession. I frequent Chuy's fairly often for two very solid reasons only: The jalapeno ranch dip and frozen lime/strawberry margarita swirl. After 1 margarita swirl accompanied w/ chips, salsa and jalapeno dip I am usually full and don't have room to eat an actual meal. But those 2 things and I am satisfied. Clearly I'm a cheap date... If I am feeling extra hungry and can muster the willpower to not eat too many chips, I usually go for the deluxe quesadillas. They are more in a quesadilla taco form. Which is cool too, I can dig it. Oh and their re-fried beans are the tits. I don't know what they put in them that make them so good. But they are at the top of my favorite re-fried beans list. Friday and Saturday happy hour is pretty legit, with all you can eat chips, salsa, queso you want in the bar area. Butttttt it is usually stupid packed in there so be ready to stand around a little while. read more

Heard really good reviews about this place. So we decided to check it out. The salsa choices were very bland, and service was not all together there. We noticed in our immediate area, others had prompt and very good service. Our waitress had not offered us any suggestion, until prompted. After waiting an extremely longer then others in the area, we were finally served. . The enchiladas with the boom boom sauce excellent choice. We had to request more chips, we found worked really well with the boom-boom sauce. The manager stopped by offered us free queso, and I can see why she offered it for free.It was the worst queso I have ever tried. Beside the waitress not doing her job, I would eat here again. It's hard to give Chuy's a low score, because it's a staple of ours - but this particular location has let us down on several occasions - from getting orders wrong to making us wait for seating on the patio before telling us, "Oh it won't be 15 minutes anymore.. it will actually be an hour before we can seat you out there." We'll be going to the Addison location from now on. The venue is nice but their staff just can't seem to get it together. read more

So let me start by saying I love Chuy's in Katy, TX. But this place was a disappointment. The quesadillas where like a child's plate where the rice came as an adder. Huh? The giant fajita beef burrito smothered in queso- packed way full of retried beans with like 8% fajita beef. Come on guys! Seriously? The server even knew it when I asked. The wait staffer said they do that with all the burritos, that's why she orders with no beans... are you joking? So, like, share the knowledge princess. The chips were normal, salsa was good, table was clean and we got seated fast for a Sunday (tip: go to the bar directly if you have a couple/three people. This place is great! First time in Texas and wanted some Tex Mex. Yelped some restaurants and found this gem. From the moment you step into the door, you are greeted with the wonderful smell!!! The decorations are so fun and colorful! They've got the coolest decor inside and play really good music. The food came very quickly and the waiter (Mike) he was awesome!!! They were so friendly and not in that fake "I'm being nice because I want a good tip) and they helped us pick what we wanted. The food was so pretty to see and so good to eat!!! Get the cheese dip with the guac and the cilantro and the meat, you will be licking the bowl. Highly recommend. read more

My wife and I came by the West Plano location and our server was Daquan. Unfortunately out experience could have been much better. It started with Daquan taking our order and not writing it down, which as someone who just left the service industry I get it, but my wife's burrito came out with the wrong sauce. When brought to his attention, it came back with the correct sauce just slathered on top of the ranchero sauce which wasnt what she asked for. She tried to eat it while a new one came out. Wasn't a fan, was too spicy but to top it off we only got our initial serving of water and never got refills. It was a Sunday after a holiday weekend, maybe they were just tired. My family has been coming here for ages. Just got back from dinner with my two sisters, step mom and 87 year old Dad. Slowish service, but no big deal. We were having fun catching up with each other. At one point we ordered some beers. A few minutes later the waiter came and informed us they were out of that brand, so we chose another. After dinner we paid with a CC and left a generous tip. The we realized that the 2 out-of-stock beers we ordered were still on the tab as well as the others. Explained it to the waiter and he said he would sort it out. He asked us for our card again and disappeared to rectify and then more-or-less disappeared. After waiting another 10 minutes or so, I went to the waiter's station and asked someone to send our guy over as we were waiting for our card, new bill, etc. so we could leave. He eventually dropped off a receipt (he chose to write in the same generous tip which we had left on a higher dollar amount), said it took 3 managers to sort it out, did not apologize for the small mistake, but rather tried explaining that he had been on a 12 hour shift and finally walked away while muttering under his breath that we needed to "calm our shit down" loud enough for all of us to hear. On the way out the door I told him I heard what he said and it was out of line. He offered to take it outside! I would love for that to have happened. The hostess (heavyset young, salmon-colored top, braces) came over and said for us to "just go". She saw nothing of what happened and just straight up lied and said we were being aggressive. Obviously, it was not a good crowd for me to throw down in front of. The dude actually tried following us out. After many years of coming to this restaurant, we won't be coming back. My sister actually spoke with the manager on the drive home complaining about the conduct of the waiter and he offered that he would "talk to him about it". Not good enough, Chuy's. Not good enough. read more

The food is always great and they've got one of the best salsas I've ever tasted. Management here is absolutely terrible. I have only been to this Chuy's maybe twice and both times have been great. Recently my co-workers and I had a late lunch here. Our waitress was awesome!! She was on top of everything refilling our chips before we even asked and keeping our drinks full. The food was the same quality food you would find at any Chuy's. My co-worker and I both ordered the quesadillas and they were delicious plus you get quite a bit of food for one order. I also love the jalapeno ranch and queso, so I got both for the chips. Everything was delicious. I also love to visit Chuy's for their happy hour. They have free chips and queso bar with drink specials. The food is solid tex mex that the entire family can enjoy. I have visited this restaurant only one time. To be honest, I do not understand at all all the rave reviews about this restaurant. First, the men's restroom was in very poor condition. The toile t was not working and had not been flushed after several men had used it. How hard is it to clean a bathroom, or to make sure everything is in working order? Each time I see a bathroom that looks like it belongs in Walmart, I see a management that is obvlious to the details of keeping a restaurant clean and presentable. Now Walmart doesn't have the worst restroom on the planet. Next, I have been a conneiseur of Mexican food since I was a teenager. I am a good judge of the quality of this food. One thing I am picky about is my chips and salsa; the chips were of extremely low quality, paper thin, you could see through them. Each time an attempt was made to dip into the salsa or guacamole, the chip broke into several pieces. Is that what chips are supposed to do? It was a losing battle, so I just finished eating my guacamole with a fork. The cooks in these restaurants would do the franchise a big favor by revising their recipe for chips. It should not be too difficult, because several restaurants have mastered the art of making great chips, El Fenix being one that I know of. Make a chip that can withstand the salsa or the guacamole, pure and simple. Next, the salsa was mediocre, not much flavor or tang to it. This recipe also needs to be revised. I have had a lot of salsa in my life, and this was one of the worst, most plain salsas I have ever had the misfortune of trying. So there you have it, revise the chip recipe, revise the salsa recipe, and you might have something for people to rave about. read more

Dropped in for a late Saturday evening meal. We were seated in Patrick's section in a comfortable booth. The service was amazing as Patrick was very attentive (but not overbearing), funny and friendly. The hostesses need better training. My family waited for a table for 45 minutes because they dropped my name and number from their list. There was no apology for their error, and the hostess tried to make it sound as if it was my fault she did not call my name and never sent a text that the table was ready. The Big As Your Face Burrito is literally as big as your face and delicious. You can get a mini version if you don't want to tackle the full size. The chips are very fresh and crispy with the servers keeping the baskets full with chip scoops. There are multiple rooms including The Hubcap Room with literal hubcaps hanging from the ceiling. The Main Dining Room is near the glassed in stand where people make homemade flour tortillas. The Bar is open seating with booths and The Art Room is like a sun room. There is also a fantastic patio when the weather is nice. Wonderful experience, good food, good service and decent pricing. A bit of Dallas trivia: Jessica Simpson used to love the Knox Henderson location of Chuys and would often go there when she was in town. Not everyone will agree with me, but I love Chuys.
