Stopped by here during a layover. The food was good but different from other Chuy's. I ordered the chicka-chicka-boom-boom. It was really good but different. John the bar tender was really attentive. They were super busy and he kept the service prompt and pleasant. I'll come back but might have to try something different to eat. read more

First off, the wait was not bad considering it was on a Saturday. There were only two of us in my party, which helped with the wait as well. It is also the reason we were set at a two person mini table right by an big round table that held 8-9. I was not upset about sitting next to a large table, the problem was there was not a big enough walk way between the two tables. Everyone that walked by had to turn sideways. This left me dealing with a butt in my face and my food all night. Even with the butt thing I waited pateintly thinking the food would make up for the inconvience...............I was wrong. I thought the food was horrible. Our first clue should have been the beans, if a mexican resturant cant make good beans, you know there will be a problem. I got the beef fajitas, which had no seasoning on the meat at all. They were extremely bland. The flour tortillas tasted like flour. This made the butt thing grate on my nerves even more. I will never eat there again. I will continue to tell everyone I know this story as well. read more

This was my first time to Chuy's in a while & I am beyond pleased with the service I received. My boyfriend and I came in around 8 o'clock and had Rene as our server and I can't say enough good things about her. She was beyond friendly, super helpful & attentive, and overall just gave us PERFECT service. Our food was delicious and came out very quickly even though they were a tad busy. I am in the restaurant industry, so I have very high exceptions for service and my experience with this restaurant was a 10/10. We will definitely be coming back and asking for Rene. read more

Chuy's is a great place to eat and relax with a nice margarita. If you want to have a good time but still save some money, they offer a free nacho bar Monday through Friday from 4-7pm and you can then spend your money on their beverages during happy hour. Or you can also sit down and enjoy moderately priced meals, from enchiladas to their Elvis green chili chicken fried steak. The staff is also friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. This was our second time at Chuy's. The first time we at in the restaurant and it was great. Love the decor, fun T-shirts, service, and food! We had the queso and it was great! Worth every penny. I had the fajitas and my husband had enchiladas. The fajitas came out sizzling and the homemade tortillas made them perfect. One of the best things is that they give you plenty of sour cream, guacamole, pico, and freshly shredded cheese. Almost twice as much as anywhere else I have ever gotten fajitas. My husband liked his enchiladas as well. Tonight we got to-go fajitas and they were fast, efficient, and tasted just as good as the first time. Definetly my new favorite for quick, great tex-mex. read more

First time here and the experience was amazing!! Attended a surprise party on the patio with 25 guests and entire staff did an amazing job keeping all drinks, chips and salsa coming until the entire party arrived. I must say this is the best service I have ever had with a group of this size. The manager was also very kind and greeted us personally. Ate here for the first time awhile back and was really impressed. Food was great and the customer service awesome. The entire staff very friendly and professional. From the hostess, to the waiters, and management walking around checking on you. Staff gave us great service and was very friendly, but we were very disappointed in the food. Tasted like it had all been cooked hours prior to our ordering and then it sat under a heat lamp. Husbands food was lukewarm but mine was colder. Food was overall bland and we had to season ourselves. I'm disappointed because I wanted to like it but just didn't. read more

The food is good....but the decor is awesome! We dined in the hubcap room, and one look at the ceiling will explain the moniker. First time at Chuy's yesterday was eh. The food was good, but nothing spectacular. Fresh sauces and green chili recipes are the best thing about the place. Decor was kitschy, my tween was impressed. It was way too loud, but they did adjust the music after we asked about it. Our server, Koby was friendly, but less than professional. Smacking gum throughout our experience was just no bueno, Kobs! We sat and visited after our meal, and he tolerated us for a while, then came and picked up the checks he had already run by reaching over us. They weren't busy and didn't have a wait. Service was awesome. Everything except main course was good. Drinks, appetizers and service were all 5 stars. The meal was okay at best. Queso and salsa were good. When main course got to table there was allot of food but quality was again okay at best. The reason 4 and not 3 was service and appetizers were so good. read more

Chuy's has decent food, but DO NOT order off of DoorDash. Predicted 38-48 minutes when it was placed & I'm now at an hour & a half & still waiting. They are obviously not capable of handling orders through a 3rd party app, so I don't know why they are listed as an option. Very disappointed. read more

Great food but tables are a little crowded and close together.

Got to restaurant at 5:45. Tried to park in handicap spot but were all taken so let my husband out so he didn't have to walk far. Parked out by street. Went in and husband was sitting on bench in lobby. After 45 minutes elapsed, I checked to see how much longer. She said only 14 more tables. Told her we were told it would be a 45 minute wait and we had already waited 45 minutes and she assured me it should only be another 20 minutes. The other bench in lobby was used by people who after short waits were seated. Manager had been through lobby several times and never acknowledged us. After 1 hour and 10 minutes wait he came up to tell us we needed to wait in the car until they called us. I told him we had waited 1 hour 10 minutes @nd we were not going to car now. He went over to check and said actually we had only waited 1 hour and 3 minutes. Really! Immediately our name was called. As we walked to back of restaurant there were numerous dirty tables available if someone had been assigned to bus tables they could have seated customers much faster and make more money! After sitting observing for several hours, this restaurant could use a manager with some leadership skills. Not well run at all. Great waiter, Andy, saved the night. By the way, we ate and ran --- no leisurely dining. Walked out the door at 8:33. Probably won't be back for awhile. read more

Modified NM TexMex. Basically good food with lots of mix match options with their sauces or salsas. My only disappointment was the cake like sopapillas and the happy hour house margarita was salty. read more

This place is a disgrace to Mexican food. Everything is simply disappointing. The service is slow inefficient and rude. The food is some of the most tasteless, and yet visually overdone I have ever experienced. To add to this simply disgraceful experience, I got stomach ravaging food poisoning which caused me to vomit on an innocent goat, as well as other helpless livestock and assorted poultry. Which is hard to believe because the burrito was remarkably similar to styrofoam. If I could give this place zero stars I would. DO NOT EAT HERE! read more

I have eaten at several Chuys and this one is just as great as the rest! Fresh salsa, Pico de Gallo and other sauces. Plenty of choices of margaritas and the fajitas are wonderful. Cannot beat their fresh herbs in their salsa and Pico Though! Anazing! read more

Ask me all the reasons I loathe Chuy's? Tonight's offering began with weak, old sweet iced tea. That wound up being not very sweet. The salsa is the consistency of pick de gallo. The queso was so spicy/hot no one at the table could eat it. The same went for the Tex-mex sauce on my enchiladas. I want my Tex-mex spicy, not so hot I cannot taste the food. My daughter's child quesadilla was made with velveeta. She refused to eat it, because it wasn't real cheese. I didn't blame her at all. Yuck! read more

Circus atmosphere. Lauded by the Lubbock locals. More Texas than Mexico. Inauthentic. Yet some acceptable tastes. I would venture that they're using a fair amount of sugar. It's ok, huge portions. Priced right. But it really isn't Mexican food at all. Extremely loyal and enthused staff, nice service. As a visitor from Los Angeles and Denver area, and having lived in Albuquerque for 14 years, I am rather selective when it comes to Mexican or New Mexican food, the latter I have grown weary of. I definitely don't understand the place. If I were 21, a UT student, here with my buddies, drinking Cervezas, and most notably, splitting the plates. (Portions are ridiculous) and not coming strictly for the cuisine, I'd be all over this place. At the end of the day, I found the taste of the flautas acceptable; too much meat; they need more time in the fry-er and in a higher temperature oil to be more tender; again, I sensed sugar of all things; retried beans not tasty at all; tortilla chips worse than what you can buy in a bag at the supermarket. I did like the queso - hatch salsa. But that is as authentic as a whopper with cheese in Mexico City. It's the number 2 restaurant in Lubbock. So??? It's more a reflection of the people in Lubbock than of anything Mexican. read more

Great food. Friday special is good if you like HOT. Wife thinks it's too hot, but I think it is great. The southwestern is also very good - try it with the "boom boom" sauce Service has been great almost every visit. My wife loves this place so we are there several times a month and have been since it opened. One of the young, female managers there is fantastice (sorry, I wish I could remember her name - has brunette hair). We had an issue with our order and she was right on top of it. The kitchen messed up on my order and had to remake it. Not a big deal, these things happen and I would rather have it correct anyway. Manager checked on us several times and even offered a comp. Told her she didn't have to do that, but when we got the check we had a big suprise. She didn't just comp my plate (which would have been more than enough), she comped the entire meal. When we told her that was very nice, and also too much, she just told us that they didn't deliever the level of service that is expected by her and she wanted to make it up to us. The service at this restaurant is outstanding! We went on a Sunday during what would be considered the afternoon rush. We were seated quickly, our server promptly showed up at our table, took or drink order. It did not take long for our food to be brought out, but there was a mix up on our daughters kids plate, which being busy, we understand things happen, but the server told her manager, he came to our table and apologized, comped her meal and have us a free dessert too. The restaurant itself is very clean, awesome & interesting decor, excellent service, friendly staff, and the food was very tasty. Will be going back whenever we are in town. read more

Stopped in on our way home to Austin, Chuy's home base. We regularly visit the Chuy's on Research Blvd. and we can both firmly say that this location in Lubbock is superior. The chips that are given everyone were less oily, tasted fresher, and had a better overall flavor. My wife's favorite dish, the deluxe chicken enchiladas had more chicken, seemingly fresher tortillas, and more tomatillo sauce. On top of that the tomatillo sauce was more flavorful. I had the Elvis green chili chicken and it was perfectly prepared. Our server, Emily W., was very friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt. All-in-all that's a firm 5 stars!!! read more
