3.5 Stars I've had Fuzzy's at catered at events in the past and did not like their food. I'm not a fan of tortilla chips with seasoning on them and I always thought their chicken was overly salted. All of that kept me away from dining at a brick and mortar location. Since relocating to Lubbock, a friend invited me to meet them at Fuzzy's tacos. I will say that I was pleasantly surprised by their shrimp and fish tacos. They have several variations of each all of which are tasty. However, every time I go, I am charged a different price. Sometimes they charge me for two tacos, when I only order one, sometimes I get a happy hour price on a taco and sometimes I do not. I have yet to figure out how the pricing works. The best item on the menu is the chips. Entire menu is mediocre at best. Nothing is authentic. They have the worst bartenders. Stick to a bottle beer or draft. The bartenders couldn't even make a chilton correctly. Very sad! The establishment does have TouchTunes and you can sit on the patio. Only good points are the patio and juke box. read more

The owner is the rudest person I have ever met . Service was amazing as it always is! It is a Baja pub type atmosphere with a bar and a sitting place for non-bar patrons. The food was great. We come to Fuzzy's about 60% of the time I come to Lubbock. We love the food. Brisket taco's 9/10, Chicken Quesadilla 8/10, carnitas taco's 8/10. Refried beans 7/10. Fuzzy's rice 7.5/10. Tacos are very good. Enchiladas not so much? ⁉ We will go back. The new burger place next door Woody's makes great burgers.

When I go to this location, I always order the chilaquiles for brunch or 2-3 shredded beef tacos for dinner. Even the beans and potatoes were delicious. Whether you coming in for brunch or dinner, there are tasty items on the menu. If you go once and you're unimpressed, try again. My experience is always hit or miss. Either the service and food are both incredible, or the service is rude and the food is sloppy and skimpy. Usually, the experience is a positive one. I stopped ordering the drinks because they taste like frozen drink pouches from the store. Their chips and queso are good, but small for sharing. If you are looking to weigh in on the fuzzys vs torchys debate, I don't think it's worth your time. They serve different kinds of tacos. To me, fuzzys seems more focused on meat and torchys is more likely to give you a blend of vegetables or unique combinations inside your taco. read more

I haven't been to a Fuzzy's since college, so we decided to try it out again while in Lubbock. And it was just like I remembered--better than Taco Cabana, worse than Torchys. Which isn't a bad thing. That's just the level they're going for with the food quality, price, atmosphere etc. I ordered a Sangria Swirl Margarita, Chips and Queso, Fajita Chicken Quesadilla, and a Margarita on the Rocks. The Sangria Swirl is just a frozen margarita with sangria mixed in. The actual frozen margarita wasn't great, so I the sangria added a nice flavor. The Chips and Queso were okay. Some of the chips were stale and the queso was just very generic. It had some shredded cheese and Pico on top, which was good, but it just needed more of it. Next time I would try it with chorizo or beef mixed in. The Quesadilla was pretty good. I would definitely order it again, but wouldn't seek it out. And lastly, the rocks margarita was okay. Too sweet for my taste.. It just tasted like it was loaded up with sugar. The atmosphere also felt kind of divy and the service at the counter was pretty slow. We sat on the patio though which was pretty nice, with lots of tvs. Overall, Fuzzy's was good for what it is- cheap Mexican-ish food. read more

It's been a few years since I was last at Fuzzy's. I had very fond college memories of their strong margaritas and amazing queso/tacos. Have to say it didn't really live up to what I remembered it being. Margaritas were just ok, and the food was meh. I will say the service was friendly and this location has lots of areas to sit so even on a busy Saturday night we didn't have an issue. Food (3.5/5): I might have just made a mistake getting burrito instead of tacos. The other people I was with got taco's and said their food was fine, but my burrito was just fair. It was all a little cold and just lacked much flavor. They also didn't put in much chicken Drink (4/5): I started with a beer-rita, which wasn't too bad. The margarita mix they use is really sweet so the beer balance it out. I got a regular frozen next and it was just a little too much sweet for me. I honestly felt a little ill after with all the sugar. Service (4.5/5): Both the guy who took our order and the bartender I ordered from were very friendly and prompt. My only complaint was picking up the food was a little confusing. The guy taking your order needs to do a better job of explaining where your food comes out and when you're supposed to go get it. I didn't realize our queso was sitting out there until someone from my group told me they don't call you for it. Ambiance (5/5): Nice interior with lots of tables and pretty large patio area. This restaurant is good, but they will always more than likely mess up a togo order. I have them mess up plenty, between wrong meat, rice and many more. When you call they just say they will fix it and make you drive back, but never give you anything for the waste of your time or anything. However the other fuzzys location in Lubbock on Broadway has messed up my togo order once and for my time they had their manager deliver it! Made me very happy to see they cared! read more

I've been craving the brisket nachos for a few days and finally ordered to go to support local business. I'm a healthcare worker so I don't eat in store right now. Honestly, I was super disappointed when I opened the box. The nachos were almost bare. Like the brisket and queso covered about 4 square inches of the 10. 80% or my chips were plain. I'm not expecting brisket in every chip, but not even queso? I just spent like 8 bucks for some corn chips. To add insult to injury, don't expect this entree to be normal size. I can always count on a fuzzy's plate to feed me for 2 meals. This was just a standard to go container with some chips. I'm not angry, just sad and disappointed. :( read more

2 orders shredded chicken quesadillas. Each order has 4 quesadillas. Only 2 of the 4 have chicken. They do this all of the time so we order extra chicken. They charged $8 for 2 -1/2 pints of extra chicken making my 2 orders cost $28. Food always taste good but not sure it's worth $28. I shouldn't have to order extra chicken. I've never had a negative experience at this location! The food is always great whether I eat there or pick it up to go. I like the to-go boxes they started using. My go to is the soft tortilla special ground beef taco, there is something about the flavor of the meat, and anytime I can get feta on anything I am in heaven. Bomb. Average location although it is Texas huge. Tried it in Austin and it was amazing, just ok here. Still worth a visit. Friendly staff. Fairly quick food. Went for the fried avocado on corn and a burrito. Pineapple Jarritos and three or for different salsas. Full bar so that's rad. Indoor and outdoor seating. Good location close to campus and a large shared parking lot. Street parking too. Pretty walkable though I'd say so come one, come all! Clean tables and trash collection areas. Staff was friendly and didn't mind me looking over the entire menu. Joked amongst themselves so a good team dynamic. Fair prices. DELICIOUS FOOD. A Texas staple for me along with Whataburger and Lone Star. Bring your friends. Have a work meeting. Nice place to meet for lunch or a drink with friend. read more

We got take out nachos. The shrimp nachos were pretty good for me. We also got the beef nachos but they were not as good. Very little meat and maybe a teaspoon of shredded cheese tossed on top. What was there tasted good; the cheese sauce was tasty and the chips were crispy. I'd give it a 5 for flavor. read more

I'm glad they're still operating during COVID-19 but I've been several times and it is clear that they are not practicing sufficient social distancing for a restaurant. Went today and it was packed both inside and on the patio. As far as I could see, there were no tables blocked off and of course since people were eating, pretty much all masks were off. Close proximity and no masks. Made me feel really uncomfortable about dining in at this establishment so I got my food to go. I think the California Baja Heat is the best taco that they have! I always disliked Fuzzy's when I was in college. Granted, I think that was because I went to the downtown location that was always packed with obnoxious college students. I guess I am old because I really enjoy this location. Don't get me wrong, there are still college students and it still definitely gets busy, but considerably less so than the downtown location. They have really good food and they have a great happy hour. Even outside of happy hour, the drinks are affordable and tasty (not necessarily strong, but they taste good!). I will say, this place is pretty stingy with their chips and salsa. You have to pay for them (totally fine) but you are only allowed one refill on chips (I think). This may have changed (we stopped ordering chips and salsa), but I thought that policy was a bit silly. Now for the pet friendly side. YES they are pet friendly on their patio! It's a lot of fun to bring my little ball of fur to the patio to have a couple drinks with friends. There are frequently dogs out on the patio which I think is very fun for happy hour after a long week. The staff are always more than happy to give you a baby cup for your pup to drink out of as well. The only downside is the seating. All of the seats are tall (like barstools and tall benches). The tall seating makes it really difficult to interact with and keep an eye on your dog while you are there. In fact, I have seen dogs just wandering around the patio while their owners tied a few on. A short table or two (beyond the ones in the smoking area) would be great! All in all thought, a fun place to bring fido! read more

This place is good for real on the go tex-mex. we ordered tacos and beer. Prices are very good nothing too expensive. Food was good tasty and came out fast. When i picked up my tacos saw the nachos and i have to go backand try more dishes. The tacos we orderdd were pretty good but i hate their bottles of salsa. That salsa is not good to help with the tacos. That salsa is kinda lame. If they had real good salsa like mexican style their food would be good texmex in lubbock. I am so glad I brought people back to Fuzzy's. What a fabulous lunch. . The brisket tacos were so fresh and flavorable. The refried beans were fresh, too. The cilantro rice and the mex-rice were so much better than about anywhere. The mex rice has peas, carrots, and peppers. Really good stuff! The chips were fresh and crispy and a good companion to the queso. Oh, yes, the regular beef tacos are very good too. The enchilada had a nice sauce and overall good blend of flavors. How do they do all of that at reasonable prices? Sorry Milwaukee Avenue. The flavors and value are right here. Management walks around too to make sure the customer is well cared for. The place is very clean. The restrooms do need updated. Most times the place is family friendly. It's always a good mix of people. It just makes the place seem warm and welcoming. The brisket nachos and tacos are my favorites, as well as the tempura battered fish tacos. Then there is the garlic sauce that is drizzled over just about everything!
